Transceiver designs with matrix-version water-filling architecture under mixed power constraints

In this paper, we investigate the multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) transceiver design under an interesting power model named mixed power constraints. In the considered power model, several antenna subsets are constrained by sum power constraints while the other antennas are subject to per-antenna power constraints. This kind of transceiver designs includes both the transceiver designs under sum power constraint and per-antenna power constraint as its special cases. This kind of designs is of critical importance for distributed antenna systems(DASs) with heterogeneous remote radio heads(RRHs) such as cloud radio access networks(C-RANs). In our work, we try to solve the optimization problem in an analytical way instead of using some famous software packages e.g., CVX or Se Du Mi. In our work, to strike tradeoffs between performance and complexity, both iterative and non-iterative solutions are proposed. Interestingly the non-iterative solution can be interpreted as a matrix-version water-filling solution extended from the well-known and extensively studied vector version. Finally, simulation results demonstrate the accuracy of our theoretical results.

To reduce construction cost and energy consumption of cellular networks,the centralized radio access cellular network infrastructure with a Super BS(CSBS)architecture has been *** CSBS architecture has the advantage that the centralized processing resource can be flexibly ***,the problem of low processing resource efficiency caused by load discrepancy of base stations still exists and the processing resource allocation methods for physical layer processing are not suitable for protocol *** this article,a framework for protocol processing resource management is designed and a load diversity based processing resource allocation(LDA)algorithm is proposed,which employs dynamic programming with the consideration of load ***,to support large mumber of BSs,a suboptimal algorithm hybrid load diversity based processing resource allocation(H-LDA)is also *** results show that LDA and H-LDA algorithm significantly outperforms the conventional methods,respectively,by more than 60%and 55%in the processing resource efficiency and the performance gap grows with the increasing BS number.

In the 5th generation(5G)wireless communication networks,network slicing emerges where network operators(NPs)form isolated logical slices by the same cellular network infrastructure and spectrum *** coverage regions of access points(APs)shared by slices,device to device(D2D)communication can occur among different slices,i.e.,one device acts as D2D relay for another device serving by a different slice,which is defined as slice cooperation in this *** selfish slices will not help other slices by cooperation voluntarily and unconditionally,this paper designs a novel resource allocation scheme to stimulate slice *** main idea is to encourage slice to perform cooperation for other slices by rewarding it with higher *** proposed incentive scheme for slice cooperation is formulated by an optimal problem,where cooperative activities are introduced to the objective *** optimal solutions of the formulated problem are long term statistics,though can be obtained,a practical online slice scheduling algorithm is designed,which can obtain optimal solutions of the formulated maximal ***,the throughput isolation indexes are defined to evaluate isolation performance of *** to simulation results,the proposed incentive scheme for slice cooperation can stimulate slice cooperation effectively,and the isolation of slice is also simulated and discussed.

Nitrogen cycle is critical to maintain a healthy coral reef *** can provide a source of nitrogen for coral holobiont and is important for coral calcification through degradation by *** the involvement of coral-associated bacteria in nitrogen fixation,nitrification and denitrification are well recognized,to what extend urea degradation by bacteria contributing to the urea utilization by coral holobiont remains to be *** this study,we demonstrate that the urea utilization is a common feature of Halomonas *** is a dominant genus in cultivable coral-associated bacteria.A urease operon was characterized by genome sequencing and gene knock-out technique in Halomonas meridiana SCSIO 43005,isolated from the gastric cavity of healthy scleractinian coral Galaxea *** showed high urease activity which was induced by urea and deletion of the urease operon reduced the capability to use urea as solo nitrogen ***,approximately 1/3 coral-associated bacteria in the IMG/M database possess complete urease operons indicating the involvement of bacteria-derived ureases in coral *** results suggest that urease from coral-associated bacteria might be important player in the nitrogen cycling of coral reefs.

Novel centralized base station architectures integrating computation and communication functionalities have become important for the development of future mobile communication ***,the development of dynamic high-speed interconnections between baseband units(BBUs)and remote radio heads(RRHs)is vital in centralized base station ***,dynamic high-speed switches(HSSs)connecting BBUs and RRHs were designed for a centralized base station *** analyzed the characteristics of actual traffic and introduced a switch traffic model suitable for the super base station ***,we proposed a data-priority-aware(DPA)scheduling algorithm based on the traffic ***,we developed the dynamic HSS model based on the OPNET platform and the prototype based on *** results show that the DPA achieves close to 100%throughput with lower latency and provides better run-time complexity than iOCF and HE-iSLIP,thereby demonstrating that the proposed switch system can be adopted in centralized base station architectures.

Time-domain enhanced inter-cell interference coordination(eI CIC) is an effective technique to reduce the cross-tier inter-cell interference(ICI) in long term evolution(LTE)-based heterogeneous small cell networks(HetSCNs). This paper first clarifies two main communication scenarios in HetSCNs, i.e., macrocells deployed with femtocells(macro-femto) and with picocells(macro-pico). Then, the main challenges in HetSCNs, particularly the severe cross-tier ICI in macro-femto caused by femtocells with closed subscribe group(CSG) access or in macro-pico caused by picocells with range expansion are analyzed. Based on the prominent feature of dominant interference in HetSCNs, the main idea of time-domain interference coordination and two basic schemes in the eI CIC standardization, i.e., almost blank subframe(ABS) and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing symbol shift are presented, with a systematic introduction to the interactions of these techniques with other network functions. Then, given macro-femto and macro-pico HetSCNs, an overview is provided on the advanced designs of ABS-based eI CIC, including self-optimized designs with regard to key parameters such as ABS muting ratio, and joint optimized designs of ABS-based eI CIC and other radio resource management techniques, such as user association and power control. Finally, the open issues and future research directions are discussed.

A Computing Resource Adjustment Mechanism for Communication Protocol Processing in Centralized Radio Access Networks

The centralized radio access cellular network infrastructure based on centralized Super Base Station(CSBS) is a promising solution to reduce the high construction cost and energy consumption of conventional cellular networks. With CSBS, the computing resource for communication protocol processing could be managed flexibly according the protocol load to improve the resource efficiency. Since the protocol load changes frequently and may exceed the capacity of processors, load balancing is needed. However, existing load balancing mechanisms used in data centers cannot satisfy the real-time requirement of the communication protocol processing. Therefore, a new computing resource adjustment scheme is proposed for communication protocol processing in the CSBS architecture. First of all, the main principles of protocol processing resource adjustment is concluded, followed by the analysis on the processing resource outage probability that the computing resource becomes inadequate for protocol processing as load changes. Following the adjustment principles, the proposed scheme is designed to reduce the processing resource outage probability based onthe optimized connected graph which is constructed by the approximate Kruskal algorithm. Simulation re-sults show that compared with the conventional load balancing mechanisms, the proposed scheme can reduce the occurrence number of inadequate processing resource and the additional resource consumption of adjustment greatly.
