Paraffin–CaCl_(2)·6H_(2)O dosage effects on the strength and heat transfer characteristics of cemented tailings backfill

The challenge of high temperatures in deep mining remains harmful to the health of workers and their production efficiency The addition of phase change materials (PCMs) to filling slurry and the use of the cold storage function of these materials to reduce downhole temperatures is an effective approach to alleviate the aforementioned problem.Paraffin–CaCl_(2)·6H_(2)O composite PCM was prepared in the laboratory.The composition,phase change latent heat,thermal conductivity,and cemented tailing backfill (CTB) compressive strength of the new material were studied.The heat transfer characteristics and endothermic effect of the PCM were simulated using Fluent software.The results showed the following:(1) The new paraffin–CaCl_(2)·6H_(2)O composite PCM improved the thermal conductivity of native paraffin while avoiding the water solubility of CaCl_(2)·6H_(2)O.(2) The calculation formula of the thermal conductivity of CaCl_(2)·6H_(2)O combined with paraffin was deduced,and the reasons were explained in principle.(3) The“enthalpy–mass scale model”was applied to calculate the phase change latent heat of nonreactive composite PCMs.(4)The addition of the paraffin–CaCl_(2)·6H_(2)O composite PCM reduced the CTB strength but increased its heat absorption capacity.This research can give a theoretical foundation for the use of heat storage backfill in green mines.

Lipid droplets serve as primary storage organelles for neutral lipids in neurons,glial cells,and other cells in the nervous system.Lipid droplet formation begins with the synthesis of neutral lipids in the endoplasmic reticulum.Previously,lipid droplets were recognized for their role in maintaining lipid metabolism and energy homeostasis;however,recent research has shown that lipid droplets are highly adaptive organelles with diverse functions in the nervous system.In addition to their role in regulating cell metabolism,lipid droplets play a protective role in various cellular stress responses.Furthermore,lipid droplets exhibit specific functions in neurons and glial cells.Dysregulation of lipid droplet formation leads to cellular dysfunction,metabolic abnormalities,and nervous system diseases.This review aims to provide an overview of the role of lipid droplets in the nervous system,covering topics such as biogenesis,cellular specificity,and functions.Additionally,it will explore the association between lipid droplets and neurodegenerative disorders.Understanding the involvement of lipid droplets in cell metabolic homeostasis related to the nervous system is crucial to determine the underlying causes and in exploring potential therapeutic approaches for these diseases.

Tis fne book begins with a speech from French President Emmanuel Macron,who appeals for the returning of Africa cultural heritage from European museums to their places of origin,posing the long-standing question of who owns heritage.Tis is the tip of the iceberg of a broader discussion about the role of museums in critical heritage studies,which suggests to refect on their new defnition,bringing together a number of issues such as culture identity,cultural amnesia,cultural alienation and culture discourses for political goals.Against this backdrop,the fve chapters in this book address the distinction between cultural heritage and cultural property,illustrating diferent rationalities of government mobilising a number of global cases.

How PD-L1 expression is regulated in cancer is poorly understood.Here,we report that the ATP-binding activity of ERBB3 pseudokinase regulates PD-L1 gene expression in colorectal cancers(CRCs).ERBB3 is one of the four members of the EGF receptor family,all with protein tyrosine kinase domains.ERBB3 is a pseudokinase with a high binding affin-ity to ATP.We showed that ERBB3 ATP-binding inactivation mutant reduces tumorigenicity in genetically engineered mouse models and impairs xenograft tumor growth of CRC cell lines.The ERBB3 ATP-binding mutant cells dramatically reduce IFN-g-induced PD-L1 expres-sion.Mechanistically,ERBB3 regulates IFN-g-induced PD-L1 expression through the IRS1-PI3K-PDK1-RSK-CREB signaling axis.CREB is the transcription factor that regulates PD-L1 gene expression in CRC cells.Knockin of a tumor-derived ERBB3 mutation located in the ki-nase domain sensitizes mouse colon cancers to anti-PD1 antibody therapy,suggesting that ERBB3 mutations could be predictive biomarkers for tumors amenable to immune check-point therapy.

Promoting conservation or change? The UNESCO label of world heritage (re)shaping urban morphology in the Old Town of Lijiang, China

The UNESCO label of World Heritage can attract a high number of tourists to heritage properties for their Outstanding Universal Values(OUV).Although international studies have demonstrated the World Heritage system can contribute to stimulating cultural tourism and boosting the local economy,how this heritage-led development process promotes urban conservation and morphological changes in cities is yet to be explored adequately.This paper aims to explore the urban morphology of a historic Chinese city after its inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List,taking the Old Town of Lijiang as case.The methods of spatial plan analysis and discourse analysis are used to analyse the data.The research findings have demonstrated that,theoretically,the Conzenian approach of urban morphology can be an effective framework for World Heritage OUV-monitoring.Methodologically,the analysis of spatial plans and multi-stakeholder interviews can reveal local urban morphology from macro to micro levels.Case-specifically in Lijiang,urban physical characteristics and building structures have been well maintained while traditional social fabric and neighbourhood networks have almost vanished.This research has incorporated the urban morphology approach into(world)heritage management in China,as well as worldwide,in order to maintain the balance between urban conservation and economic growth.

伴随人工智能技术在养老领域的应用,居家社区养老服务呈现协同演化的发展趋势。这既为人口老龄化下破解养老服务供给不足难题带来重大机遇,也给传统居家养老服务模式转型升级提出新的挑战。基于人工智能的技术特征,从“技术创新—要素整合—系统优化”过程维度揭示人工智能赋能的居家养老服务发展路径,并以生态系统理论为分析框架,从“宏观—中观—微观”层面剖析人工智能赋能居家社区养老服务面临规范性与引领性政策缺位、参与主体协作网络不紧密、养老服务供给和需求结构性失衡三个障碍。据此,应从宏观层面完善配套政策,加大对人工智能养老服务的支持力度;从中观层面推进数据汇聚与整合,促进多主体协同联动;从微观层面精准识别老年人需求,提升养老服务供给效率与能力。

A facile and sensitive method of quantifying glutaminase binding to its ninhibitor CB-839 in tissues

Many cancer types reprogram their metabolism to become addicted to glutamine.One of the critical enzymes in the utilization of glutamine in these cells is glutaminase.CB-839(telaglenastat)is a drug that targets glutaminase that is currently being evaluated in many clinical trials for efficacy in various cancer types that are known to be driven by glutamine metabolism.Despite its use,there are limited assays available for testing the pharmacodynamic on-target effects of CB-839 on the limited,small-volume patient samples that are obtained in early-phase clinical trials.Thus,we developed an assay based on the cellular thermal shift assay technique using AlphalLlSA technology to show that CB-839 specifically engages glutaminase in colon cancer cell lines in vitro and in minute quantities of mouse xenograft tumors.Notably,we show that this assay detects CB-839 binding to glutaminase in platelets of patients collected while receiving CB-839 on a clinical trial.This assay may be used to study the pharmacodynamic profile of CB-839 in very small tissue samples obtained from patients on a clinical trial and may be useful infuture studies designed to screen other in hibitors of glutaminase.

为探究超高层连体结构在多灾害耦合作用下的设计与安全性能,以苏州超塔为例,开展地震和风耦合作用下的多灾害易损性分析.根据设计资料建立结构有限元模型,分别开展结构在地震作用下以及地震和风耦合作用下的易损性分析,探究结构在多灾害耦合作用下的响应规律.结果表明,地震和风耦合作用下结构联合易损性随着地震动和风荷载强度的增大而增加,且地震动对结构的破坏占主导作用.地震与风耦合作用时结构达到中等破坏、严重破坏和倒塌破坏的概率均比仅地震作用时有所增加.当风速达到40 m/s时,结构在罕遇地震下达到3种破坏状态的概率分别为99.77%、91.56%和46.54%,相比于仅罕遇地震作用下分别提高了1.11%、10.73%和14.65%,相比于一般高层连体结构在同样的灾害耦合作用下分别提高了0.27%、6.26%和14.34%.

目的系统评价直肠癌患者术后低位前切除综合征发生风险预测模型。方法计算机检索PubMed、Web of Science、Embase、Cochrane Library、Scopus、CINHAL、CNKI、CBM、WanFang Data和VIP数据库,搜集与研究目的相关的研究,检索时限均为建库至2023年6月13日。由2名研究者独立筛选文献,按照预测模型系统评价的关键评估和数据提取清单(CHARMS)提取数据,应用预测模型研究偏倚风险评估工具(PROBAST)评价研究质量。结果共纳入14项研究。所有研究都报告了模型区分度,其中10项研究报告了校准。8项研究对模型进行了内部验证,5项研究进行了外部验证。纳入模型最常见的预测因子为肿瘤距肛缘的距离、新辅助治疗、吻合口瘘、BMI。仅5项研究的整体适用性较好,所有研究均有很高的偏倚风险,偏倚风险主要来源于研究对象、结果、分析领域。结论直肠癌患者术后低位前切除综合征发生风险预测模型尚存在诸多不足,未来研究可考虑对现有模型进行外部验证和重新校准,或参照方法学指南构建新的预测模型并进行验证。
