BACKGROUND Lymphomas are the second most common malignancy of the head and *** this region,the vast majority of extranodal lymphomas are located in the palatine tonsil,accounting for about 51%.Tonsillar lymphomas are aggressive tumors with intermediate-or high-grade *** here report a case of primary non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma of the palatine tonsil and analyze its ultrasound *** SUMMARY A 40-year-old man presented with right palatine tonsil swelling for 2 mo after a cold,accompanied by dysphagia,snoring,and *** had no sore throat,fever,or history of upper respiratory tract infection or *** patient was generally in good health and denied other *** was diagnosed with acute tonsillitis initially and treated with antibiotics for 7 ***,there was no improvement with the *** biopsy and ultrasound-guided biopsy of the biggest lymph node of the right neck showed the typical pathology of non-Hodgkin *** Primary lymphoma of the tonsils is rare,and its diagnosis is ***-trasound is a useful modality in diagnosing oropharyngeal diseases,and can clearly show the features of this tumor,but the final diagnosis should be estab-lished by histology.

Objective To search the etiologic factor, clinical diagnosis points and treatment of postoperative intussusception （ PI ）.Methods To retrospectively review the clinical materials of 14 cases with PI including the cause of disease and treatment.Results PI occurred within 10 days （average 4 days） after the primary operation. Bowel obstructive symptoms gradually emerged. One case was diagnosed with intussusception by sonography and received enema reduction of intussusception by hydrostatic pressure. Thirteen cases were performed secondary operation. Small intestine was main site of intussu- sception. Manual reduction of the lesion was performed in 12 cases and bowel resection and anastomosis was done in 1 case with bowel necrosis. Conclusion PI should be suspected if child presents with the symptoms of ileus in early postoperative period. Abdominal sonography may have some value on diagnosis of Pl. Operation is the first choice for the treatment of PI.

Objective:To explore the effect of ulinastatin(UTI) continuous infusion combined Rivaroxaban on the deep vein thrombosis in patients undergoing major orthopedic ***:Forty-five patients undergoing major orthopedic surgery were randomly divided into three groups:ulinastatin continuous infusion(Uc) group,ulinastatin single injection(Us) group and control(C) *** patients received patient-controlled intravenous analgesia(PCIA) after operation,and took Rivaroxaban 10 mg orally 12 hours after ***(5 000 U/kg)was given intravenously to both Uc and Us groups *** C was given isometric normal saline,group Uc was pumped UTI continuous intravenously at the end of surgery(10 000U/kg) to 48 hours through PCIA *** values of hematocrit(HCT),thrombomodulin(TM),Interleukin(IL-6),thrombin-antithrombin complex(TAT),D-Dimer(D-D) were normally tested before surgery(T1),at the end of the surgery(T2),12 hours(T3).24 hours(T4) and 48 hours(T5)after ***:Compared with T1,there was an upward tendency in TM,IL-6,TAT,and D-D after operation in group C group(P 0.05).Conclusions:During the perioperative period,ulinastatin continuous infusion combined Rivaroxaban can correct blood hypercoagulability through different approaches in patients undergoing major orthopedic surgery.

Objective To determine whether the myotoxic side effects of statin simvastatin affect skeletal muscle's sensitivity to caffeine and halothane. Methods Primary cultured neonate rat skeletal myotubes were treated with 0.01-5.0 μmol/L simvastatin for 48 hours. MTT was used to evaluate cellular viability. The gross morphology and microstructure of the myotubes were observed with a light and electron microscope, respectively. The intracellular calcium concentrations([Ca^(2+)]i) at rest and in response to caffeine and halothane were investigated by fluorescence calcium imaging. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance(ANOVA) test. Results Simvastatin(0.01-5.0 μmol/L) decreased myotube viability, changed their morphological features and microstructure, and increased the resting [Ca^(2+)]i in a dose-dependent manner. Simvastatin did not change myotube's sensitivity to low doses of caffeine(0.625-2.5 mmol/L) or halothane(1.0-5.0 mmol/L). In response to high-dose caffeine(10.0 mmol/L, 20.0 mmol/L) and halothane(20.0 mmol/L, 40.0 mmol/L), myotubes treated with 0.01 μmol/L simvastatin showed a significant increase in sensitivity, but those treated with 1.0 μmol/L and 5.0 μmol/L simvastatin showed a significant decrease. The sarcoplasmic reticulum Ca^(2+) storage peaked in the myotubes treated with 0.01 μmol/L simvastatin, but it decreased when cells were treated with higher doses of simvastatin(0.1-5.0 μmol/L).Conclusions The myotoxic side effect of simvastatin was found to change the sensitivity of myotubes in response to high-dose caffeine and halothane. When dose was low, sensitivity increased mainly because of increased Ca^(2+) content in the sarcoplasmic reticulum, which might explain why some individuals with statin-induced myotoxic symptoms may show positive caffeine-halothane contracture test results. However, when the dose was high and the damage to the myotubes was severer, sensitivity was lower. It is here supposed that the damage itself might put individuals with

Background Pulmonary hypertension （PH） is a set of pathophysiological syndromes characterized by increased pulmonary artery pressure and pulmonary vascular resistance,resulting in increased right ventricular *** left and right ventricles interact through *** impact will PH have on synchronization and function of the left ventricle （LV）？ The aim of this study was to evaluate the synchronization of the left ventricular wall motion and left ventricular function in patients with varying degrees of PH using velocity vector imaging （Wl） *** Sixty patients with chronic PH served as the experimental group,and 20 healthy volunteers served as the control *** to the different degrees of pulmonary artery systolic pressure,the experimental group was divided into three groups：mild,moderate,and severe PH *** time to peak systolic longitudinal velocity （Tvl）,the peak systolic longitudinal velocity （Vsl）,the peak diastolic longitudinal velocity （Vel）,the peak systolic longitudinal strain （SI）,and strain rate （SRI） in 18 segments were measured in each *** TvI in the control group and each group with PH was reduced from basal to apical segment,and in control group Tvl in various segments of the same wall and in different walls showed no significant difference （P ＞0.05）.With increase in pulmonary artery pressure,Tvl values measured showed an increasing trend in groups with *** groups with PH,Vsl and Vel of each wall were reduced sequentially from basal to apical segments,showing gradient change; Vsl and Vel values measured showed a decreasing trend with increase in pulmonary artery pressure,in which the differences of Vel values measured in the control group and the mild PH group were statistically significant （P ＜0.01）,and the differences between other groups were statistically significant （P ＜0.01）.In groups with PH,SI and SRI in basal segment and the middle segment of each wall were decreased; the difference betwe

The groundwater level has been continuously decreasing due to climate change and long-time overexploitation in the Xiong’an New Area,North China,which caused the enhanced mixing of groundwater in different aquifers and significant changes in regional groundwater chemistry *** this study,groundwater and sediment pore-water in drilling cores obtained from a 600 m borehole were investigated to evaluate hydrogeochemical processes in shallow and deep aquifers and paleo-environmental evolution in the past ca.3.10 *** showed that there was no obvious change overall in chemical composition along the direction of groundwater runoff,but different hydrochemical processes occurred in shallow and deep groundwater in the vertical *** groundwater(linity(TDS>1000 mg/L)and high concentrations of Mn and Fe,while deep groundwater had better water quality with lower *** high TDS values mostly occurred in aquifers with depth500 m below land *** isotopes showed that aquifer pore-water mostly originated from meteoric water under the influence of evaporation,and aquitard pore-water belonged to Paleo meteoric *** addition,the evolution of the paleoclimate since 3.10 Ma BP was reconstructed,and four climate periods were determined by theδ18O profiles of pore-water and sporopollen records from sediments at different *** can be inferred that the Quaternary Pleistocene(0.78‒2.58 Ma BP)was dominated by the cold and dry climate of the glacial period,with three interglacial intervals of warm and humid ***’s more,this study demonstrates the possibilities of the applications of pore-water on the hydrogeochemical study and further supports the finding that pore-water could retain the feature of paleo-sedimentary water.

This study was conducted to identify bacteria responsible for the elimination of sludge in an innovative gravel contact oxidation reactor (GCOR) and a conventional activated sludge reactor(ASR).Fluorescent in situ hybridization revealed thatα-,β-,γ- andε-Proteobacteria and Bacteroidetes were present in both *** the GCOR,γ-Proteobacteria accounted for 13%of the biofilm biomass on the carrier,whileα-,ε- andβ-Proteobacteria accounted for 12%.However,the predominant bacteria in the pores of the carrier in the GCOR were Bacteroidetes(18%),ε-Proteobacteria(13%),β- andα-Proteobacteria(10%) andγ-Proteobacteria(9%).Conversely,β-Proteobacteria(18%),Bacteroidetes(13%),α- andγ-Proteobacteria(12%) andε-Proteobacteria(5%) dominated the sediment community of the ASR.

Ulinastatin(UTI),a broad-spectrum elastase inhibitor,can stabilize lysosomal membranes and inhibit the activation and release of various inflammatory cytokines caused by cardiopulmonary bypass(CPB).[1,2]UTI has recently been considered to be an effective anti-inflammatory agent and has been widely used in clinical settings,[3-5]but the optimal dose has not been ***,we conducted a prospective,randomized,controlled trial involving 60 patients undergoing cardiac surgeries with CPB and investigated the serum levels of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin-6(IL-6),and interleukin-8(IL-8),at different time points in order to evaluate the antiinflammatory efficacy of high-dose UTI and explore the optimum dose.
