Metal nanomaterials can facilitate microbial extracellular electron transfer(EET)in the electrochemically active ***,the role of nanomaterials/bacteria interaction in this process is still ***,we reported the single-cell voltammetric imaging of Shewanella oneidensis MR-1 at the single-cell level to elucidate the metal-enhanced EET mechanism in vivo by the Fermi level-responsive graphene *** oxidation currents of~20 fA were observed from single native cells and gold nanoparticle(AuNP)-coated cells in linear sweep voltammetry *** the contrary,the oxidation potential was reduced by up to 100 mV after AuNP *** revealed the mechanism of AuNP-catalyzed direct EET decreasing the oxidation barrier between the outer membrane cytochromes and the *** method offered a promising strategy to understand the nanomaterials/bacteria interaction and guide the rational construction of EET-related microbial fuel cells.

Cancer,a complex and multifactorial disease,presents a significant challenge to global *** significant advances in surgical,radiotherapeutic and immunological approaches,which have improved cancer treatment outcomes,drug therapy continues to serve as a key therapeutic ***,the clinical efficacy of drug therapy is often constrained by drug resistance and severe toxic side effects,and thus there remains a critical need to develop novel cancer *** promising strategy that has received widespread attention in recent years is drug repurposing:the identification of new applications for existing,clinically approved *** repurposing possesses several inherent advantages in the context of cancer treatment since repurposed drugs are typically cost-effective,proven to be safe,and can significantly expedite the drug development process due to their already established safety *** light of this,the present review offers a comprehensive overview of the various methods employed in drug repurposing,specifically focusing on the repurposing of drugs to treat *** describe the antitumor properties of candidate drugs,and discuss in detail how they target both the hallmarks of cancer in tumor cells and the surrounding tumor *** addition,we examine the innovative strategy of integrating drug repurposing with nanotechnology to enhance topical drug *** also emphasize the critical role that repurposed drugs can play when used as part of a combination therapy *** conclude,we outline the challenges associated with repurposing drugs and consider the future prospects of these repurposed drugs transitioning into clinical application.

DNA damage occurs across tumorigenesis and tumor *** intrinsic DNA damage can not only increase the risk of mutations responsible for tumor generation but also initiate a cellular stress response to orchestrate the tumor immune microenvironment(TIME)and dominate tumor *** evidence documents that multiple signaling pathways,including cyclic GMP-AMP synthase-stimulator of interferon genes(cGAS-STING)and ataxia telangiectasia-mutated protein/ataxia telangiectasia and Rad3-related protein(ATM/ATR),are activated downstream of DNA damage and they are associated with the secretion of diverse *** cytokines possess multifaced functions in the anti-tumor immune ***,it is necessary to deeply interpret the complex TIME reshaped by damaged DNA and tumor-derived cytokines,critical for the development of effective tumor *** manuscript comprehensively reviews the relationship between the DNA damage response and related cytokines in tumors and depicts the dual immunoregulatory roles of these *** also summarize clinical trials targeting signaling pathways and cytokines associated with DNA damage and provide future perspectives on emerging technologies.

Organic lasers with broad emission bands in near-infrared(NIR)region are crucial for their applications in laser communication,night-vision as well as bioimaging owing to the abundance of selectable lasing ***,for most organic gain materials,gain regions are limited in a small wavelength range because of the fixed energy level ***,we design a strategy to realize NIR organic lasers with broad emission bands based on tunable energy level systems induced by cascaded excited-state intramolecular proton transfer(ESIPT).A novel gain material named DHNN was developed,which can undergo a cascaded double-ESIPT process supporting four-level and six-level systems *** doping DHNN into polystyrene microspheres,NIR lasers with tunable emission bands can be achieved based on the careful modulation of ***,organic lasers with an ultra-broad emission band ranging from 700 nm to 900 nm was successfully achieved by harnessing four-level and six-level systems simultaneously.

Introducing and stabilizing oxygen vacancies in oxide catalysts is considered to be a promising strategy for improving catalytic activity and ***,we quantitatively create oxygen vacancies in the lattice of porous single-crystallineβ-Ga_(2)O_(3)monoliths by reduction treatments and stabilize them through the long-range ordering of crystal lattice to enhance catalytic activity and *** combination analysis of time-of-flight neutron powder diffraction and extended x-ray absorption fine structure discloses that the preferential generation of oxygen vacancy tends to occur at the site of tetrahedral coordination oxygen ions(O_(Ⅲ)sites),which contributes to the formation of unsaturated Ga-O coordination in the monoclinic *** oxygen vacancies are randomly distributed in lattice even though some of them are present in the form of domain defect in the PSC Ga_(2)O_(3)monoliths after the reduction *** number of oxygen vacancies in the reduced monoliths gives 2.32×10^(13),2.87×10^(13),and 3.45×10^(13)mg^(-1)for the Ga_(2)O_(2.952),Ga_(2)O_(2.895),and Ga_(2)O_(2.880),*** therefore demonstrate the exceptionally high C_(2)H_(4)selectivity of~100%at the C_(2)H_(6)conversion of~37%for nonoxidative dehydrogenation of C_(2)H_(6)to C_(2)H_(4).We further demonstrate the excellent durability even at 620℃for 240 h of continuous operation.

Prompt radiation emitted during accelerator operation poses a significant health risk,necessitating a thorough search and securing of hazardous areas prior to ***,manual sweep methods are ***,the limitations of manual sweeps have become increasingly evident with the implementation of large-scale *** leveraging advancements in machine vision technology,the automatic identification of stranded personnel in controlled areas through camera imagery presents a viable solution for efficient search and *** the criticality of personal safety for stranded individuals,search and security processes must be sufficiently *** ensure comprehensive coverage,180°camera groups were strategically positioned on both sides of the accelerator tunnel to eliminate blind spots within the monitoring *** YOLOV8 network model was modified to enable the detection of small targets,such as hands and feet,as well as larger targets formed by individuals near the ***,the system incorporates a pedestrian recognition model that detects human body parts,and an information fusion strategy is used to integrate the detected head,hands,and feet with the identified pedestrians as a cohesive *** strategy enhanced the capability of the model to identify pedestrians obstructed by equipment,resulting in a notable improvement in the recall ***,recall rates of 0.915 and 0.82were obtained for Datasets 1 and 2,*** there was a slight decrease in accuracy,it aligned with the intended purpose of the search-and-secure software *** tests conducted within an accelerator tunnel demonstrated the effectiveness of this approach in achieving reliable recognition outcomes.

BACKGROUND Lipid metabolism reprogramming is suspected to exist in pre-cancerous lesions,including colorectal *** colonoscopy frequently reveals chicken skin mucosa(CSM;white or yellow-white speckled mucosa)surrounding colo-rectal polyps,caused by macrophages engulfing and accumulating the lipids decomposed by colon cells or adjacent ***-positive colorectal polyps are associated with various diseases;however,their prognosis varies *** snare polypectomy is commonly used to resect lesions up to 10 to 15 mm in diameter without signs of submucosal invasion but is controversial for CSM-positive colorectal *** imaging is required to diagnose and treat CSM-positive colorectal *** This retrospective cohort study included 177 patients with CSM-positive colorectal polyps diagnosed using *** patient-related information was extracted from the Goldisc soft-clinic DICOM system or electronic medical record *** on the pathological results,patients were classified as non-neoplastic polyps(five juvenile polyps),neoplastic polyps,non-invasive high-grade neoplasia(NHGN),or submucosal invasive carcinoma(SM stage cancer).We analyzed and compared the clinical features,suspected risk factors for malignant transformation of neoplastic polyps,and early infiltration of sub-mucosal *** The diameters of NHGN and SM polyps were much smaller than those of neoplastic *** NHGN polyps had a deeper red mucosal *** logistic regression analyses,diameter and deeper red mucosal color were independent risk factors for malignant transformation of neoplastic *** 1 CSM was more common in high-grade intraepithelial neoplasia and SM;type 2 CSM was more common in neoplastic *** regression analyses revealed no significant differences in the malignant transformation of neoplastic polyps or early submucosal invasion of CSM-positive colorectal *** in the CSM mucosa surrounding neoplastic

AIM:To evaluate the clinical efficacy of small-diameter acellular porcine corneal stroma(SAPS)for the treatment of peripheral corneal ulceration(PCU).METHODS:This retrospective clinical study included 18 patients(18 eyes)with PCU between April 2018 and December *** patients had PCU and underwent lamellar keratoplasty with *** indicators included preoperative and postoperative best-corrected visual acuity(BCVA)and transparency of *** infection control rate in the surgical eye-lesion area was also ***:Eighteen patients underwent lamellar keratoplasty with SAPS to treat *** of the patients experienced rejection after 6mo(18/18)and 12mo(16/16)of *** BCVA(0.47±0.30)at the 6mo followup after operation was significantly improved compared with the baseline(0.99±0.80),and the difference was statistically significant(Z=-3.415,P<0.05).The BCVA at the 12mo follow-up after operation was not statistically significant compared to the 6mo(Z=0,P=1).With time,the SAPS graft gradually became *** the 6mo(18/18)and 12mo(16/16)follow-up,none of the patients had recurrent corneal ***:SAPS is clinically effective in the treatment of PCU,improving the patient’s BCVA and reducing the incidence of rejection after keratoplasty.
