In this study,we present a supramolecular templating approach for constructing polyimidazolium salt containing crown ether and cyclobutane moieties.This strategy involves the formation of metal-carbene templates,photochemical cycloaddition,and subsequent demetallation of metal ions.Driven by the host-guest chemistry between crown ether units and ammonium salts,we successfully fabricated a supramolecular polymer SPN1,which features imidazolium receptors and cyclobutane units.The obtained SPN1 demonstrates outstanding reversible stimulus-response,antibacterial behavior and conductivity.

Luminescent organic radicals have garnered increasing attention owing to their versatile applications in sensing, imaging, and organic light-emitting diodes（OLEDs）, attributed to their unique emission properties originating from the doublet spin state.However, the natural narrow bandgap of organic free radicals typically limits their emission to the long-wavelength region.Designing luminescent organic radicals with short-wavelength emission remains a significant challenge. Herein, a series of carbon-centered radicals with short-wavelength emission（383–476 nm） by combining N-heterocyclic carbenes with various polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons（PAHs）(2-naphthyl, 2aⅠand 2bⅠ; 2-phenanthryl, 2aⅡand 2bⅡ; 2-anthryl, 2aⅢand 2bⅢ; 3-phenanthryl, 2aⅣand 2bⅣ). Theoretical calculations reveal that the introduction of PAHs significantly increases the ΔED2-D1in 2aⅠ–Ⅲand 2bⅠ–Ⅲcompared to that in phenyl-derived radical congeners. Consequently, the internal transition from D2 to D1 is impeded, leading to a high yield of D2 emission and a suppressed Kasha's rule, thereby overcoming the limitations imposed by their narrow bandgap. For 2aⅣand 2bⅣ, despite a moderately large ΔED2-D1value, the ΔED3-D1value exceeds 1 e V, indicating that their emission likely originates from the D3 state. Furthermore, we utilized 2aⅢand 2bⅢas emissive materials in OLEDs,resulting in blue emissions with external quantum efficiencies of 7.5% and 6.5%, respectively.

The oxygen content of metal powder is decisive for the recyclability of powder.The research on the effect of oxygen content on powder properties and material formability has practical significance for economical production with additive manufacturing while preventing the waste of resources.Here,we deliberately oxidized the powder by baking at high temperature to increase the oxygen content in the powder and gave the calculation method of the oxygen content in the powder oxidation film.The majority of oxygen element was found in the oxide particles in the powder and the oxide flm on the powder surface,which did affect the flowability of the powder.It is worth noting that the increase in the oxygen content does not change the phase of H13 steel,but it can promote the molten pool flow and obtain a smoother surface.The increase in the oxygen content in the powder is not the decisive factor for the formability and defects of the printed samples.It is the combined effect of the powder deformation,the increase in the oxygen content,and the impurity pollution after repeated use,which leads to the limitation of repeated utilization of the powder.

Ulcerative colitis(UC)is a recurrent inflammatory bowel disease that imposes a severe burden on families and society.In recent years,exploiting the potential of marine bioactive peptides for the treatment of diseases has become a topic of intense research interest.This study revealed the mechanism underlying the protective effect of the dominant polypeptide PKKVV(Pro-Lys-Lys-Val-Val)of Rhopilema esculentum cnidoblasts against DSS-induced UC through a combined analysis of the metagenome and serum metabolome.Specifically,the polypeptide composition of R.esculentum cnidoblasts was determined by matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry(MALDI-TOF/TOF-MS).Molecular docking showed that the dominant peptide PKKVV could bind better with tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)than the original ligand.Subsequent animal experiments suggested that PKKVV could modulate disorganized gut microorganisms in mice with UC;affect serum metabolites through the arachidonic acid,glycerophospholipid and linoleic acid metabolism pathways;and further alleviate UC symptoms.This study provides a reference for the comprehensive development of marine bioactive substances and nonpharmaceutical treatments for UC.

Rapid and accurate determination of compressor characteristic maps is essential for the initial design of centrifugal compressors in aircraft power systems. The accuracy of existing methodologies, which rely on combinations of loss models, varies significantly depending on the compressor's geometry and operational range. This variance necessitates substantial experimental or Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD) data for coefficient calibration. To address this challenge, this study presents an axisymmetric characteristic model for compressor performance assessment. This model incorporates the factors of blade angle, meridional passage area, and the radial deflection angle of meridional streamlines of the compressor. These factors are derived from fundamental aerodynamic equations encompassing mass, momentum, and energy conservation of the compressor. In contrast to conventional one-dimensional approaches, the proposed method reduces the number of loss coefficients and more effectively accounts for the impact of geometric alterations on centrifugal compressor properties. Furthermore, the model reduces dependence on experimental and CFD data. Efficacy of the model is validated using experimental data from four distinct types of centrifugal compressors. Correlation analysis reveals that the model's coefficients can be expressed as functions of the ratio of the Reynolds number to the impeller tip speed. This ratio serves as a characteristic parameter for the design and optimization of centrifugal compressors. Consequently, the proposed method offers an efficient and accurate means for the quick computation of centrifugal compressor characteristics. This is of great significance for improving the efficiency of centrifugal compressors and reducing energy consumption.

BACKGROUND Spontaneous coronary artery rupture(SCAR)is a rare and life-threatening complication after lung cancer surgery.We present a case of SCAR following left upper lobectomy,successfully managed through emergency thoracotomy and coronary artery ligation.CASE SUMMARY A 61-year-old male patient underwent left upper lobectomy and mediastinal lymph node dissection for lung cancer.The surgery was performed using singleport video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery,and there were no observed complications during the procedure.However,19 h after surgery,the patient experienced chest discomfort and subsequently developed severe symptoms,including nausea,vomiting,and a drop in blood pressure.Urgent measures were taken,leading to the diagnosis of SCAR.The patient underwent emergency thoracotomy and coronary artery ligation,successfully stopping the bleeding and stabilizing the condition.Despite postoperative complications,the patient made a successful recovery and was discharged from the hospital.CONCLUSION SCAR is a rare but life-threatening complication following lung cancer surgery.Immediate thoracotomy has been shown to be a life-saving measure,while stenting is not the preferred initial approach.

Tuning the surface-embellishing ligands of metal nanoparticles(NPs) is a powerful strategy to modulate their morphology and surface electronic and functional features, impacting their catalytic activity and selectivity. In this work, we report the design and synthesis of a polytriazolium organic cage PIC-T, capable of stabilizing Pd NPs within its discrete cavity. The obtained material(denoted Pd@PCC-T) is highly durable and monodispersed with narrow particle-size distribution of 2.06 ± 0.02 nm, exhibiting excellent catalytic performance and recyclability in the Sonogashira coupling and tandem reaction to synthesize benzofuran derivatives. Further investigation indicates that the modulation of N-heterocyclic carbene sites embedded in the organic cage has an impact on NPs’ catalytic efficiency, thus providing a novel methodology to design superior NP catalysts.

Metagenomic insights into microorganisms and antibiotic resistance genes of waste antibiotic fermentation residues along production,storage and treatment processes

Antibiotic fermentation residue(AFR)is nutrient-rich solid waste generated from fermentative antibiotic production process.It is demonstrated that AFR contains high-concentration of remaining antibiotics,and thus may promote antibiotic resistance development in receiving environment or feeding farmed animals.However,the dominate microorganisms and antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs)in AFRs have not been adequately explored,hampering understanding on the potential antibiotic resistance risk development caused by AFRs.Herein,seven kinds of representative AFRs along their production,storage,and treatment processes were collected,and multiple methods including amplicon sequencing,metagenomic sequencing,and bioinformatic approaches were adopted to explore the biological characteristics of AFRs.As expected,antibiotic fermentation producer was found as the predominant species in raw AFRs,which were collected at the outlet of fermentation tanks.However,except for producer species,more environment-derived species persisted in stored AFRs,which were temporarily stored at a semi-open space.Lactobacillus genus,classified as Firmicutes phylum and Bacilli class,became predominant bacterial taxa in stored AFRs,which might attribute to its tolerance to high concentration of antibiotics.Results from metagenomic sequencing together with assembly and binning approaches showed that these newly-colonizing species(e.g.,Lactobacillus genus)tended to carry ARGs conferring resistance to the remaining antibiotic.However,after thermal treatment,remaining antibiotic could be efficiently removed from AFRs,and microorganisms together with DNA could be strongly destroyed.In sum,the main risk from the AFRs was the remaining antibiotic,while environment-derived bacteria which tolerate extreme environment,survived in ARFs with high content antibiotics,and may carry ARGs.Thus,hydrothermal or other harmless treatment technologies are recommended to remove antibiotic content and inactivate bacteria before recycling of AFRs in pharmaceutical industry.

This study developed a novel MnFe-LDH/PMS/O3 three-phase catalytic system to degrade the organic dye RhB, which was used to address the drawbacks of persulfate oxidation and ozonation techniques. The structure, ionic and elemental composition, specific surface area, and magnetic properties of the LDHs were investigated using a variety of physicochemical characterization tools. The results showed that MnFe-LDH had a large specific surface area, a rich crystalline phase composition, and a functional group structure. The RhB degradation rate of MnFe-LDH/PMS/O3 was 0.34 min−1, which was much higher than that of other comparative systems. RhB could be completely degraded in 10 min after optimization and had a significant effect on TOC removal. The system was found to be effective over a wide pH range. Common anions were largely unaffected and humic acid acted as an inhibitor. At the same time, the system had generally effective degradation performance for different dyes. Combined with quenching experiments and EPR, it was found that SO4•−, •OH, O_(2)•−, and 1O_(2) all participated in the reaction, and •OH contributed more. The degradation pathway of RhB was derived by LC-MS, and the T.E.S.T. evaluation found that the toxicity of the intermediate product was significantly reduced. Finally, the stability and availability of LDHs were verified using cycling experiments and metal ion leaching. This work provides a theoretical basis and data support for the synergistic catalysis of PMS/O3 and the deep treatment of dye wastewater.

Bottom-up construction of highly complex architecture from simple components remains one of the long-standing challenges in chemistry.Herein two supramolecular isomers based on large trigonal prismatic Pd_(3)L^(1)_(6)building block are reported.Significantly,they can be controllably obtained by adjusting the solute concentration during crystal growth.Specifically,the square shape crystals,α-[Pd_(3)L^(1)_(6)](PF_(6))_(12)in the cubic system with I143 m space group,can be isolated from a high-concentration solution of Pd_(3)L^(1)_(6).Interestingly,a mesoporous cage assembled from eight Pd_(3)L^(1)_(6)units with a diameter of 24Åis observed in the crystal structure.For the low-concentration solution of Pd_(3)L^(1)_(6),the rectangular shape crystalsβ-[Pd_(3)L^(1)_(6)](PF_(6))_(12)are obtained,which crystallize in the hexagonal system with P 63/m space group,and display two-dimension packing pattern and one-dimension mesoporous channels(diameter ca.22Å)along the c axis.Moreover,the two supramolecular isomers were used as nanoporous reactors to induce the specific formation of polyiodides with different compositions and shapes as evidenced from single crystal X-ray diffraction studies.These findings provide a reference in targeting functional crystalline mesoporous supramolecular materials from a single complex building unit.
