Simultaneously enhanced electrochemical performance and air stability of Ni-rich cathode with a modified washing process

Water washing has been regarded as one of the most effective strategies to remove surface residual lithium of nickel-rich layered oxides for lithium-ion batteries(LIBs).However,the loss of lattice lithium during the water washing process deteriorates the electrochemical performances and air ***,washing the LiNi_(0.90)Co_(0.05)Al_(0.02)O_(2)(NCA) with ammonium dihydrogen phosphate(NH_(4)H_(2)PO_(4)) solution has been proposed to simultaneously enhance electrochemical performances and air stability,in which in-situ generated Li_(3)PO_(4) coating layer on surface of NCA can suppress the loss of lattice ***,as a fast ionic conductor,Li_(3)PO_(4) coating layer on NCA can prevent the direct contact with electrolyte/*** a result,the NH_(4)H_(2)PO_(4) solution washed NCA cathode can deliver a high capacity of131.9 mAh·g^(-1) at 10.0C rate as well as impressive cycle stability with a capacity retention of 83.1% after 100 cycles at 1.0C,much higher than those of water washed NCA(WS-NCA) *** exposed in air for 7 days,the NH_(4)H_(2)PO_(4) solution washed NCA electrode can more effectively maintain the structural integrity as well as the electrochemical performances than water-washed *** work provides a simple and effective approach to enhance the cycle stability and air stability of Nickel-rich cathode materials.

P16 gene hypermethylation and hepatocellular carcinoma:A systematic review and meta-analysis

AIM:To quantitatively investigate the effect of p16 hypermethylation on hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and hepatocirrhosis using a meta-analysis of available casecontrol ***:Previous studies have primarily evaluated the incidence of p16 hypermethylation in HCC and corresponding control groups,and compared the incidence of p16 hypermethylation in tumor tissues,pericancer liver tissues,normal liver tissues and non-tumor liver tissues with that in other *** regarding publication information,study characteristics,and incidence of p16 hypermethylation in both groups were collected from these studies and ***:Fifteen studies,including 744 cases of HCC and 645 non-tumor cases,were identified for *** significant odds ratios (ORs) of p16 hypermethylation were obtained from tumor tissues and non-tumorous liver tissues of HCC patients (OR 7.04,95% CI:3.87%-12.78%,P < 0.0001),tumor tissues of HCC patients and healthy liver tissues of patients with other diseases (OR 12.17,95% CI:6.64%-22.31%,P < 0.0001),tumor tissues of HCC patients and liver tissues of patients with non-tumorous liver diseases (OR 6.82,95% CI:4.31%-10.79%,P < 0.0001),and cirrhotic liver tissues and non-cirrhotic liver tissues (OR 4.96,95% CI:1.45%-16.96%,P=0.01).The pooled analysis showed significantly increased ORs of p16 hypermethylation (OR 6.98,95% CI:4.64%-10.49%,P < 0.001) from HCC tissues and cirrhotic ***:P16 hypermethylation induces the inactivation of p16 gene,plays an important role in hepatocarcinogenesis,and is associated with an increased risk of HCC and liver cirrhosis.

Temperature-swing adsorption(TSA)is an effective technique for CO_(2) capture,but the temperature swing procedure is ***,we report a low-energy-consumption system by combining passive radiative cooling and solar heating for the uptake of CO_(2) on commercial activated carbons(CACs).During adsorption,the adsorbents are coated with a layer of hierarchically porous poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropene)[P(VdF-HFP)HP],which cools the adsorbents to a low temperature under sunlight through radiative *** desorption,CACs with broad absorption of the solar spectrum are exposed to light irradiation for *** heating and cooling processes are completely driven by solar *** tests under mimicked sunlight using the CACs show that the performance of this system is comparable to that of the traditional ***,under real sunlight irradiation,the adsorption capacity of the CACs can be well maintained after multiple *** present work may inspire the development of new temperature swing procedures with little energy consumption.

Mechanical properties of semi-solid casting are dependent on multiple processing parameters,and improper processing parameters will not only reduce mean data but also increase *** present study investigated the impact of parameters in slurry preparation and heat treatment on the yield strength and ductility of T6 heat-treated A356 Al-Si alloy using rapid slurry forming(RSF)semi-solid *** focus was primarily on the robustness of mechanical properties based on Taguchi design *** analyzing signal-to-noise ratio and minimum value calculated from-3S,the optimum slurry preparation parameters and heat treatment parameters were determined to be no quench,enthalpy exchange material(EEM)temperature of 140℃,EEM-to-melt ratio of 6mass%,stirring time of 18 s,solution heat treated at 520℃ for 2 h,and ageing heat treated at 190℃ for 6 *** a small batch validation,the-3S yield strength and-3S elongation reach 256.1 MPa and 5.03% respectively,showing a satisfactory *** hardness and microstructure of heat-treated samples with the best and worst properties were characterized to gain insight into the underlying mechanisms affecting the mean value and variations of mechanical properties.

Improvement of mechanical properties and investigation of strengthening mechanisms on the Ti_(3)AlC_(2) ceramic with nanosized WC addition

Ti_(3)AlC_(2) (TAC) has great potential for use as an ablation material in aerospace applications due to its great oxidation/ablation resistance, but its high-temperature strength and thermal shock resistance still have much room for simultaneous improvement under fast temperature variation conditions. Herein, we used Ti_(3)AlC_(2) and WC powders as raw materials and successfully fabricated textured (Ti,W)_(3)AlC_(2) ceramic with small amounts of TiC and Al_(2)O_(3), and room temperature mechanical properties such as flexural strength (1146±46.9 MPa), fracture toughness (11.78±0.44 MPa·m^(1/2)), and hardness (5.81±0.11 GPa) at 5 wt% WC addition were achieved. The high-temperature strength of the ceramic was significantly improved, and better thermal shock resistance from 298 to 1173 K was simultaneously acquired together with the regulation of the elastic modulus, thermal conductivity, and thermal expansion coefficient, providing (Ti,W)_(3)AlC_(2) with more possibilities for fast-temperature variation applications. Strengthening and toughening mechanisms were proposed. Scanning transmission electron microscopy high-angle annular dark-field imaging (STEM-HADDF) showed that W randomly replaced the Ti1 and Ti2 sites of Ti_(3)AlC_(2), providing a good reference for establishing crystal models, and further density functional theory (DFT) calculations based on these models indicated a higher fracture energy of (Ti,W)_(3)AlC_(2) along different crystal planes, providing superior resistance to transgranular fracture;a lower mismatch degree of (Ti,W)_(3)AlC_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3) resulted in stronger interface bonding, resulting in greater resistance to intergranular fracture as well as more balanced stress distributions at different interfaces.

Probiotics in Helicobacter pylori eradication therapy: A systematic review and meta-analysis

AIM: To summarize the evidence from randomized controlled trials(RCTs) regarding the effect of probiotics by using a meta-analytic ***: In July 2013, we searched PubM ed, EMBASE, Ovid, the Cochrane Library, and three Chinese databases(Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, Chinese Medical Current Content, and Chinese Scientific Journals database) to identify relevant *** included RCTs investigating the effect of a combination of probiotics and standard therapy(probiotics group) with standard therapy alone(control group).Risk ratios(RRs) were used to measure the effect of probiotics plus standard therapy on Helicobacter pylori(***) eradication rates, adverse events, and patient compliance using a random-effect ***: We included data on 6997 participants from 45 RCTs, the overall eradication rates of the probiotic group and the control group were 82.31% and 72.08%, *** noted that the use of probiotics plus standard therapy was associated with an increased eradication rate by per-protocol set analysis(RR = 1.11; 95%CI: 1.08-1.15; P < 0.001) or intention-totreat analysis(RR = 1.13; 95%CI: 1.10-1.16; P < 0.001).Furthermore, the incidence of adverse events was 21.44% in the probiotics group and 36.27% in the control group, and it was found that the probiotics plus standard therapy significantly reduced the risk of adverse events(RR = 0.59; 95%CI: 0.48-0.71; P < 0.001), which demonstrated a favorable effect of probiotics in reducing adverse events associated with *** eradication *** specific reduction in adverse events ranged from 30% to 59%, and this reduction was statistically ***, probiotics plus standard therapy had little or no effect on patient compliance(RR = 0.98; 95%CI: 0.68-1.39; P = 0.889).CONCLUSION: The use of probiotics plus standard therapy was associated with an increase in the *** eradication rate, and a reduction in adverse events resulting from treatment in the general populati
