The electronic structures of Ti_2NbSb with Hg_2CuTi structure and TiZrNbSb with LiMgPdSn structure are investigated using first-principles *** results indicate that Ti_2NbSb is a fully compensated ferrimagnetic spin-gapless semiconductor with an energy gap of 0.13 e V,and TiZrNbSb is a half-metallic fully compensated ferrimagnet with a half-metallic gap of 0.17 e *** Ti_2NbSb,the total energy of the Hg_2CuTi structure is0.62 e V/*** than that of the L2_(1) structure,which is the ground state,and for TiZrNbSb,the total energy of the structure considered in this work is only 0.15 e V/*** than that of the ground *** both of them may be good candidates for spintronic applications.

Furan carboxylic acids are important building blocks in polymer and fine chemical industries. In this work, a simple substrate adaptation strategy was applied to improve the catalytic performances of Comamonas testosteroni SC1588 cells for the synthesis of various furan carboxylic acids. It was found that biocatalytic synthesis of 5-hydroxymethyl-2-furancarboxylic acid(HMFCA) was substantially promoted by adding histidine and increasing cell concentrations. HMFCA was produced in a quantitative yield from200 m M HMF in 24 h. Besides, the HMFCA yields of 71%–81% were achieved with the substrate concentrations up to 250–300 m M. It was firstly found that 4-tert-butylcatechol(TBC), as the stabilizer present in HMF, exerted a significantly detrimental effect on whole-cell catalytic synthesis of HMFCA at high substrate concentrations(more than 130 m M). In addition, a variety of furan carboxylic acids such as2-furoic acid, 5-methyl-2-furancarboxylic acid and 5-methoxymethyl-2-furancarboxylic acid were synthesized with the yields up to 98%.

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC)is one of the most lethal neoplasms worldwide and represents the vast majority of pancreatic cancer *** the molecular pathogenesis and the underlying mechanisms involved in the initiation,maintenance,and progression of PDAC is an urgent need,which may lead to the development of novel therapeutic strategies against this deadly ***,we review the role of SET and MYND domaincontaining protein 2(SMYD2)in initiating and maintaining PDAC development through methylating multiple tumor suppressors and oncogenic *** the broad substrate specificity of SMYD2 and its involvement in diverse oncogenic signaling pathways in many other cancers,the mechanistic extrapolation of SMYD2 from these cancers to PDAC may allow for developing new hypotheses about the mechanisms driving PDAC tumor growth and metastasis,supporting a proposition that targeting SMYD2 could be a powerful strategy for the prevention and treatment of PDAC.

Recursive Projected Filter Algorithm with Binary-Valued Observations

This paper focuses on the state estimate for a class of systems with both process noise and measurement noise under binary-valued observations, in which the Gaussian assumption on the predicted density of the state is not required. A recursive projected filter algorithm with time-varying thresholds is constructed to estimate the state under binary-valued observations. The time-varying thresholds are designed as the prediction value of the measurement, which can provide more information about the system state. The convergence property is established with some suitable stability,boundedness and observability conditions. In particular, the estimation error between state and estimate is proved to be asymptotically bounded in the mean-square sense, whose upper bound is related to the variance of process noise. Finally, the theoretical results are demonstrated via numerical examples of first-order and high-order systems.

Odorant binding proteins （OBPs） are believed to be important for transporting semiochemicals through the aqueous sensillar lymph to the olfactory receptor cells within the insect antennal sensilla. Here, we injected AlinOBP4-siRNA into the conjunctivum between prothorax and mesothorax of the lucerne plant bug, Adelphocoris lineolatus and evaluated the silencing of AlinOBP4 by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction （RT-PCR） analysis, quantitative real-time PCR （qPCR） test and electroantennogram （EAG） assay. The combination of RT-PCR and qPCR analyses revealed that the levels of mes- senger RNA transcript were significantly reduced ~95% in AlinOBP4-siRNA-treated A. lineolatus males and ~75% in RNAi-treated females within 48 hours. It was found that there are different EAG responses between male and female bugs when the AlinOBP4 gene was silenced by RNAi. The EAGs of A. lineolatus to two plant volatiles, tride- canal and hexyl alcohol, were reduced 9.09% and 79.45% in RNAi-treated males, 62.08% and 62.08% in RNAi-treated females compared to the controls, separately. Antennae of RNAi-treated bugs showed significantly lower electrophysiological responses to four sex pheromone analogs, butyl butanoate, 1-hexyl butyrate, （E）-2-hexenyl butyrate and hexyl hexanoate. The EAG recordings were reduced 35.43%, 35.24%, 39.96% and 78.47% in RNAi-treated males and 64.52%, 18.13%, 36.88% and 49.52% in RNAi-treated females, respectively. The results suggested that AlinOBP4 might play dual-roles in the identifi- cation of plant volatiles and sex pheromones. It was suspected that AlinOBP4 may have different functions in odor perception between male and female A. lineolatus.

Host phylogeny and environment have all been implicated in shaping the gut microbiota and host metabolic traits of ***,few studies have evaluated phylogeny-associated microbial assembly and host metabolic plasticity concurrently,and their relationships on both short-term and evolutionary *** report that the branching order of a gut microbial dendrogram was nearly congruent with phylogenetic relationships of seven rodent species,and this pattern of phylosymbiosis was intact after diverse laboratory *** rearing,diet or air temperature(Ta) acclimation induced alterations in gut microbial communities,but could not override host phylogeny in shaping microbial community assembly.A simulative heatwave reduced core microbiota diversity by 26% in these species,and led to an unmatched relationship between the microbiota and host metabolic phenotypes in desert ***,the similarity of metabolic traits across species at different Tas was not correlated with phylogenetic *** data demonstrated that the gut microbial assembly showed strong concordance with host phylogeny and may be shaped by environmental variables,whereas host metabolic traits did not seem to be linked with phylogeny.

Difluoromethylated alkynes are a versatile synthon for the diversity-oriented synthesis of difluoromethyl compounds that are of great interest in life and materials ***,the catalytic cross-coupling for the synthesis of difluoromethylated alkynes remains challenging,despite impressive achievements made in the cross-coupling reactions for alkynes,including the Sonogashira ***,we report a palladium difluorocarbene involvement in catalytic coupling with terminal alkynes,representing a new mode of conjugation reaction,which circumvents the radical pathway usually encountered during the coupling of alkynes with fluoroalkyl *** reaction uses inexpensive and abundant industrial raw material chlorodifluoromethane(ClCF_(2)H)as the difluorocarbene precursor,and features cost-effectiveness,excellent functional group tolerance,and broad substrate scope,including synthesis of drug-like complex *** mechanistic studies showed a unique catalytic pathway of this process,in which additive hydroquinone plays a pivotal role in promoting the reaction.
