Forest productivity is closely linked to seasonal variations and vertical differentiation in leaf ***,leaf structural and chemical traits variation among co-existing species,and plant functional types within the canopy are poorly *** this study,the seasonality of leaf chlorophyll,nitrogen(N),and phosphorus(P)were quantified vertically along the canopy of four major tree species and two types of herbs in a temperate deciduous *** role of shade tolerance in shaping the seasonal variation and vertical differentiation was *** the entire season,chlorophyll content showed a distinct asymmetric unimodal pattern for all species,with greater chlorophyll levels in autumn than in spring,and the timing of peak chlorophyll per leaf area gradually decreased as shade tolerance *** a:b ratios gradually decreased with increasing shade *** N and P contents sharply declined during leaf expansion,remained steady in the mature stage and decreased again during leaf *** the seasons,the lower canopy layer had significantly higher chlorophyll per leaf mass but not chlorophyll per leaf area than the upper canopy layer regardless of degree of shade ***,N and P per leaf area of intermediate shade-tolerant and fully shade-tolerant tree species were significantly higher in the upper canopy than in the *** variations in N:P ratios suggest changes in N or P *** findings indicate that shade tolerance is a key feature shaping inter-specific differences in leaf chlorophyll,N,and P contents as well as their seasonality in temperate deciduous forests,which have significant implications for modeling leaf photosynthesis and ecosystem production.

With continuous hydrocarbon exploration extending to deeper basins,the deepest industrial oil accumulation was discovered below 8,200 m,revealing a new exploration ***,the extent to which oil exploration can be extended,and the prediction of the depth limit of oil accumulation(DLOA),are issues that have attracted significant attention in petroleum *** it is difficult to characterize the evolution of the physical properties of the marine carbonate reservoir with burial depth,and the deepest drilling still cannot reach the ***,the DLOA cannot be predicted by directly establishing the relationship between the ratio of drilling to the dry layer and the *** this study,by establishing the relationships between the porosity and the depth and dry layer ratio of the carbonate reservoir,the relationships between the depth and dry layer ratio were obtained *** depth corresponding to a dry layer ratio of 100%is the *** on this,a quantitative prediction model for the DLOA was finally *** results indicate that the porosity of the carbonate reservoir,Lower Ordovician in Tazhong area of Tarim Basin,tends to decrease with burial depth,and manifests as an overall low porosity reservoir in deep *** critical porosity of the DLOA was 1.8%,which is the critical geological condition corresponding to a 100%dry layer ratio encountered in the *** depth of the DLOA was 9,000 *** study provides a new method for DLOA prediction that is beneficial for a deeper understanding of oil accumulation,and is of great importance for scientific guidance on deep oil drilling.

Monolithic perovskite/organic tandem solar cells(TSCs)have emerged as promising thin film solar *** is recognized that interconnect junction plays a pivotal role in tandem ***,wide bandgap Cs_(0.25)FA_(0.75)Pb(I_(0.6)Br_(0.4))_(3)perovskite top-cell and narrow bandgap PM6:Y6:PC_(61)BM ternary organic bottom-cell were integrated in this study with several kinds of thin metal interconnect layers,which provides feasibility to elaborately manipulate light transmission and carrier tunneling process in interconnect *** is confirmed that,in comparison with Au,employing an Ag interconnect layer elevates integrated transmittance of light in longer wavelength regions,mainly because of the alleviated screening effect with a lower free electron concentration,which offers sufficient light harvest for the ***,established energy barriers with moderate height afford convenient extraction and recombination for both holes and ***,the performance of TSCs is promoted ***,an innovative Ag/Au double interconnect layer is proposed accordingly,which can preserve exceptional conductivity and light transmission and further reduce barrier height,especially for hole tunneling,by optimizing the band alignment between the interconnect layer and ***,the monolithic perovskite/organic TSC with a striking efficiency of 23.26% is *** a word,this study can pave a general approach toward high-performance TSCs integration.

Serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D,genetic susceptibility,and the risk of incident type 2 diabetes:A prospective cohort in East China

Background:The serum vitamin D level varies widely by population,and studies have linked vitamin D levels with the risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).However,the relationship is inconsistent and the impact of vitamin D on T2DM among East Chinese adults is *** study aimed to investigate the association between serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D(25[OH]D)levels and the risk of T2DM and evaluated whether the association is modified by genetic ***:In the Survey on Prevalence in East China for Metabolic Diseases and Risk Factors(SPECT-China)cohort,1862 participants free of T2DM at baseline were included.A weighted genetic risk score was calculated with 28 variants associated with *** logistic models were used to examine the association of serum 25(OH)D and genetic risk with ***:After a 5-year follow-up,132 cases of T2DM were *** observed no significant association between quartiles of serum 25(OH)D and T2DM risk after multivariable adjustment(χ^(2)=0.571,P_(for trend)=0.426).Compared to those in the lowest quartile of 25(OH)D,the odds ratios(ORs)(95%confidence interval[CI])for participants with increased quartiles were 1.29(0.74-2.25),1.35(0.77-2.36),and 1.27(0.72-2.24),*** observed a positive association of glycated hemoglobin(HbA1c)with 25(OH)D at baseline(β=1.752,P=0.001)and after follow-up(β=1.385,P=0.003),and a negative association of ln conversion homeostasis model assessment(HOMA)-βwith 25(OH)D at baseline(β=-0.982,P=0.021).There was no significant interaction between 25(OH)D and diabetes genetic predisposition on the risk of T2DM(χ^(2)=2.710,P_(for interaction)=0.100).The lowest OR(95%CI)of T2DM was among participants with low genetic risk and the highest quartile of 25(OH)D(0.17[0.05-0.62]).Conclusion:Serum 25(OH)D may be irrelevant to the risk of incident T2DM among East Chinese adults regardless of genetic predisposition.

Structural characteristics and tectonic division of the Zambezi Delta basin in the offshore East Africa:evidences from gravity and seismic data

The Zambezi Delta basin is a passive marginal basin located on the East African coast that has good oil and gas exploration *** to the special geological evolutionary background of the Beira High in the Zambezi Delta basin,it has a low gravity anomaly,and the existing seismic survey lines do not cover the whole basin;therefore,it is difficult to interpret the structural characteristics of the whole basin based solely on gravity or seismic *** on satellite altimetry gravity anomaly data,this study infers the distribution characteristics of faults in the Zambezi Delta basin by using the normalized vertical derivative of the total horizontal derivative(NVDR-THDR)***,constrained by seismic data,the gravity anomaly at the Moho interface is extracted by using the fast forward method of the double-interface model of the gravity anomaly,and this anomaly is then removed from the Bouguer gravity anomaly to obtain the sedimentary layer gravity *** thickness of the sedimentary strata is obtained by inversing the sedimentary basement depth of the whole ***,uplifts and depressions are divided based on a sedimentary layer thickness of 3 *** research demonstrates that the Zambezi Delta basin mainly features nearly SN-trending and NE-trending faults and that these faults exhibit east-west *** nearly SN-trending strike-slip faults controlled the sedimentary development of the basin,and the NE-trending tensile faults may have acted as migration channels for oil,gas and ***“overcompensation”effect of the Moho interface gravity anomaly on the gravity anomaly of the sedimentary layer is caused by the depression of the Moho interface beneath the Beira High,which results in a low gravity anomaly value for the Beira *** pattern of uplifts and depressions trends NE and has the structural characteristics of east-west blocks.

Lattice engineering and distortion have been considered one kind of effective strategies for discovering advanced *** instinct chemical flexibility of high-entropy oxides(HEOs)motivates/accelerates to tailor the target properties through phase transformations and lattice ***,a hybrid knowledge-assisted data-driven machine learning(ML)strategy is utilized to discover the A_(2)B_(2)O_(7)-type HEOs with low thermal conductivity(κ)through 17 rare-earth(RE=Sc,Y,La-Lu)solutes optimized A-site.A designing routine integrating the ML and high throughput first principles has been proposed to predict the key physical parameter(KPPs)correlated to the targetedκof advanced *** the smart-designed 6188(5RE_(0.2))_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7)HEOs,the best candidates are addressed and validated by the princi-ples of severe lattice distortion and local phase transformation,which effectively reduceκby the strong multi-phonon scattering and weak interatomic ***,(Sc_(0.2)Y_(0.2)La_(0.2)Ce_(0.2)Pr_(0.2))_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7)with predictedκbelow 1.59 Wm^(−1)K^(−1)is selected to be verified,which matches well with the ex-perimentalκ=1.69 Wm^(−1)K^(−1)at 300 K and could be further decreased to 0.14 Wm^(−1)K^(−1)at 1473 ***,the coupling effects of lattice vibrations and charges on heat transfer are revealed by the cross-validations of various models,indicating that the weak bonds with low electronegativity and few bond-ing charge density and the lattice distortion(r∗)identified by cation radius ratio(r A/r B)should be the KPPs to decreaseκ*** work supports an intelligent designing strategy with limited atomic and electronic KPPs to accelerate the development of advanced multi-component HEOs with proper-ties/performance at multi-scales.

With the wide application of the fifth-generation mobile communication system(5G)technology,wireless communication equipment tends to develop in miniaturization,high frequency,and low *** this paper,a surface acoustic wave(SAW)filter with a center frequency of 3.5 GHz was ***,the acoustic waveguide structure of the longitudinal leaky SAW(LLSAW)excitation is determined,and the two-dimensional(2D)theoretical model of the device is established by COMSOL ***,the influence of electrode parameters on the performance of the device is studied,and the electrode parameters are optimized on this *** setting the device structure parameters reasonably,the spurious in the passband can be effectively ***,the center frequency of the mirror T-structure LLSAW filter is 3.536 GHz,the insertion loss is-1.414 dB,the bandwidth of-3 dB is 276 MHz,and the out-of-band rejection is greater than-30 dB.

Solidification crack characteristics and sensitivity of peritectic steel

The characteristics and sensitivity of solidification cracks in peritectic steels were investigated using directional solidifi-cation *** cracks were observed in both hypoperitectic steels(12CrlMoV,15CrMo)and hyper-peritectic steel(20CrMo)during solidification at growth velocities of 15,50,and 80 pm/*** the dendritic boundaries,sulphide precipitates were found,promoting crack *** on the statistical analysis of interdendritic cracks in peritectic steels,the area ratio(RA)of interdendritic cracks in a directional solidification structure was proposed to evaluate the crack sensitivity of peritectic ***,the crack sensitivities of peritectic steels(12CrlMoV,15CrMo,and 20CrMo)were tested,evaluated,and compared with the surface crack rates of three types of steels produced from a steel *** results demonstrated that RA was in good agreement with that of the steel plant,and the crack sensitivity of 12CrlMoV steel was the strongest,followed by that of 15CrMo and 20CrMo ***,RA can be used to evaluate the crack sensitivity of peritectic steel.

Reinforcement of High Impact Polystyrene by Aramid Nanoparticle Fillers Prepared via an In situ Bottom-up Approach

In this work,aramid nanoparticles(ANPs)were prepared in dimethyl formamide(DMF)solution containing high impact polystyrene(HIPS)via a bottom-up *** electron microscopy(TEM)images showed that the obtained ANPs were evenly distributed in the HIPS matrix without any *** composition of the ANPs,i.e.,poly(p-phenyl-p-phenylenediamine)(PPTA),was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)and X-ray diffractometer(XRD).The ANP/HIPS composites,obtained after ethanol precipitation,were added to neat HIPS as fillers to fabricate ANP/HIPS composite *** surface roughness and the glass transition temperature(T_g)of the sheets were characterized by atomic force microscope(AFM)and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),*** with neat HIPS,the mechanical properties of the composite sheet were significantly improved,and the Young's modulus increased from 246.55 MPa to 2025.12 MPa,the tensile strength increased from 3.07 MPa to 29.76 MPa,and the toughness increased from 0.32 N/mm^2 to 3.92 N/mm^2,with an increase rate of 721%,869%and 1125%,***,the thermal stability of the composites improved with the increase in ANP content.
