Observation of the effect of targeted therapy of 64-slice spiral CT combined with cryoablation for liver cancer

AIM to observe the effect of targeted therapy with 64-slice spiral computed tomography (CT) combined with cryoablation for liver cancer. METHODS A total of 124 patients ( 142 tumors) were enrolled into this study. According to the use of dual-slice spiral CT or 64-slice spiral CT as a guide technology, patients were divided into two groups: dual-slice group (n = 56, 65 tumors) and 64-slice group (n = 8, 77 tumors). All patients were accepted and received targeted therapy by an argon-helium superconducting surgery system. The guided scan times of the two groups was recorded and compared. In the two groups, the lesion ice coverage in diameter of >= 3 cm and < 3 cm were recorded, and freezing effective rate was compared. Hepatic perfusion values [ hepatic artery perfusion (HAP), portal vein perfusion (PVP), and the hepatic arterial perfusion index (HAPI)] of tumor tissues, adjacent tissues and normal liver tissues at preoperative and postoperative four weeks in the two groups were compared. Local tumor changes were recorded and efficiency was compared at four weeks post-operation. Adverse events were recorded and compared between the two groups, including fever, pain, frostbite, nausea, vomiting, pleural effusion and abdominal bleeding. RESULTS Guided scan times in the dual-slice group was longer than that in the 64-slice group (t = 11.445, P = 0.000). The freezing effective rate for tumors < 3 cm in diameter in the dual-slice group (81.58%) was lower than that in the 64-slice group (92.86%) (chi(2) = 5.707, P = 0.017). The HAP and HAPI of tumor tissues were lower at four weeks post-treatment than at pretreatment in both groups (all P < 0.05), and those in the 64-slice group were lower than that in the dual-slice group ( all P < 0.05). HAP and PVP were lower and HAPI was higher in tumor adjacent tissues at post-treatment than at pre-treatment ( all P < 0.05). DRUCKER-PRAGER YIELD CRITERIA IN VISCOELASTIC-PLASTIC CONSTITUTIVE MODEL FOR THE STUDY OF SEA ICE DYNAMICS

Based on the characteristics of sea ice drifting and ridging at meso-small scale, the Drucker-Prager （D-P） yield criteria was introduced into the Viscoelastic-Plastic （VEP） constitutive model for the study of sea ice dynamics. In this model, the Kelvin-Vogit viscoelastic model was adopted in the elastic stage, and the associated normal flow rule was used in the plastic stage. Using the VEP model, the sea ice ridging process was simulated in an idealized rectangular basin, and the simulation results show that the simulated ice ridge thickness is consistent with the analytical solution. Moreover, the VEP model with the D-P yield criteria was also applied for the sea ice simulation of Bohai Sea, and the ice thickness, concentration, velocity, and ice stress were obtained in 48 h. The simulated thickness distributions agree well with the satellite images. The singular problem in the Mohr^7oulomb （M-C） yield criteria was overcome by the D-P yield criteria, and the computational efficiency was also improved. In the numerical simulations described above, the smoothed particle hydrodynamics was applied.

Current Research Progress in Magnesium Borohydride for Hydrogen Storage(A review)

Hydrogen storage in solid-state materials is believed to be a most promising hydrogen-storage technology for high efficiency, low risk and low cost. Mg(BH)is regarded as one of most potential materials in hydrogen storage areas in view of its high hydrogen capacities(14.9 wt% and 145–147 kg cm). However, the drawbacks of Mg(BH)including high desorption temperatures(about 250°C–580°C), sluggish kinetics, and poor reversibility make it difficult to be used for onboard hydrogen storage of fuel cell vehicles. A lot of researches on improving the dehydrogenation reaction thermodynamics and kinetics have been done, mainly including: additives or catalysts doping, nanoconfining Mg(BH)in nanoporous hosts, forming reactive hydrides systems, multi-cation/anion composites or other derivatives of Mg(BH). Some favorable results have been obtained. This review provides an overview of current research progress in magnesium borohydride, including: synthesis methods, crystal structures, decomposition behaviors, as well as emphasized performance improvements for hydrogen storage.

Mass balance of the Antarctic Ice Sheet from 2013 to 2018 estimated using the input-output method with updated remote sensing products

The Antarctic Ice Sheet(AIS)has been losing ice mass and contributing to the rise in the global sea-level(GSL)for the last 4 decades,as quantified by using satellite *** developed a framework for implementing the state-of-the-art input-output(IO)method that has the advantage of explicit estimation of the mass balance of individual glaciers,basins and the *** estimated the mass balance of the AIS from 2013 to 2018 using improved observations and updated datasets recently made available,including annual ice flow velocity maps from the Inter-mission Time Series of Land Ice Velocity and Elevation(ITS_LIVE)dataset,the Bed Machine and the Princess Elizabeth Land(PEL)Earth System Science Data(ESSD)datasets,and the surface mass balance from the RACMO 2.3 *** example,using the improved ice thickness data,the proposed method for ice discharge estimation enables a 10%reduction of uncertainty in ice *** the period of 2013–2018,an ice discharge acceleration of 6.9±6.5 Gt yr^(–2)in West Antarctica(WA)was detected,which contributed significantly to the estimated mass loss of~1069 Gt(–178.2±108.9 Gt yr^(–1))in the *** the other hand,Queen Maud Land,East Antarctica(EA),showed clearly a mass gain rate of 56.0±10.0 Gt yr^(–1)due to the regional increase in surface mass *** results extended the estimation period by 3 years in comparison to the published study using the same annual velocity maps from the ITS_LIVE ***,our results,along with those from other studies using the IO method,reassures the acceleration of recent mass loss in WA and Wilkes Land in EA,which are caused by glacier thinning and ice shelf basal *** with the long-term mass balance record since 1979,our results suggest that the mass loss in AIS accelerated in the last *** developed framework can be modified for mass balance estimation of the AIS or for other ice sheets by using velocity maps from other satellite data or from differen

Recent developments in acceptor–donor–acceptor(A–D–A) type non-fullerene acceptors have led to substantial improvements in bulk-heterojunction polymer solar cells efficiency. The device performance strongly depends on photoactive layer morphology, as the molecular packing, donor–acceptor interface and phase separation significantly affect the charge-transfer states and charge carrier dynamics. In this review, we start with a brief introduction of the techniques most effectively utilized to characterize multiphase morphology. Then, we summarize recent progress in A–D–A type acceptors, with the emphasis on understanding the molecular structure–morphology–performance relationships. Finally, an outlook on correlating morphological characteristics with photovoltage losses is presented for further improving device performance.

A thorough understanding of the texture evolution of near-αtitanium alloys during the hot metal forming can help obtain an optimal crystallographic texture and material *** strain state has an obvious effect on the texture evolution of near-αtitanium alloys during the hot metal *** this paper,the texture evolution of a near-αTA15 titanium alloy during the hot metal forming under different strain states were discussed based on the crystal plasticity finite element *** is found that the basal and prismatic slip systems are regarded as the dominant slip modes due to the similar low critical resolved shear stress during the hot metal forming of the TA15 sheet rotating the lattice around the[1010]and 0001 axis,*** both of them cannot be activated,the pyramidal-2 slipping occurs rotating the lattice around the[1010]*** relationship between the texture evolution and strain state is *** the(0001)orientations form a band perpendicular to the direction of the first principal *** width of the band along the direction of the second principal strain depends on the ratio of the compressive effect to the tensile effect of the second principal *** relationship can help control the crystallographic texture and mechanical properties of the titanium alloys component during the hot metal forming.
