Antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs)as new pollutants have become a global environmental pollution problem in recent *** atmospheric CO_(2) is one of the major factors affecting global climate ***,the impacts of elevated CO_(2) on soil ARGs in multiple antibiotics-contaminated paddy soils are largely *** this study,six antibiotics including sulfadiazine(SDZ),sulfamethoxazole(SMZ),tetracycline(TC),oxytetracycline(OTC),enrofloxacin(ENR),and ciprofloxacin(CIP)were selected to investigate their combined effects on rice biomass,antibiotics accumulation,soil bacterial community and ARGs under elevated CO_(2) *** showed that elevated CO_(2) significantly reduced the accumulation of SMZ,OTC,ENR,and CIP in rice grains by 18.98%,20.07%,41.73%,and 44.25%,*** CO_(2) could affect soil microbialβ-diversity,and tend to reduce the microbial functions of human diseases,organismal systems,and genetic information *** addition,elevated CO_(2) significantly decreased the abundance of sulfonamide ARGs,tetracycline ARGs,and quinolone ARGs by 19.59%,18.58%,and 28.96%,respectively,while increased that of multidrug ARGs by 11.54%.Overall,this study emphasized that elevated CO_(2) may mitigate the threat of antibiotics contamination to rice food security but aggravate the environmental risk of multidrug ARGs in soil,contributing to a better understanding of the consequences of elevated CO_(2) levels on food security and soil ecological health in multiple antibiotics-contaminated paddy fields.

Background: Cytokines are essential cellular modulators of various physiological and pathological activities, including peripheral nerve repair and regeneration. However, the molecular changes of these cellular mediators after peripheral nerve injury are still unclear. This study aimed to identify cytokines critical for the regenerative process of injured peripheral ***: The sequencing data of the injured nerve stumps and the dorsal root ganglia(DRG) of Sprague-Dawley(SD) rats subjected to sciatic nerve(SN) crush injury were analyzed to determine the expression patterns of genes coding for cytokines. PCR was used to validate the accuracy of the sequencing ***: A total of 46, 52, and 54 upstream cytokines were differentially expressed in the SN at 1 day, 4 days, and 7 days after nerve injury. A total of 25, 28, and 34 upstream cytokines were differentially expressed in the DRG at these time points. The expression patterns of some essential upstream cytokines are displayed in a heatmap and were validated by PCR. Bioinformatic analysis of these differentially expressed upstream cytokines after nerve injury demonstrated that inflammatory and immune responses were significantly ***: In summary, these findings provide an overview of the dynamic changes in cytokines in the SN and DRG at different time points after nerve crush injury in rats, elucidate the biological processes of differentially expressed cytokines, especially the important roles in inflammatory and immune responses after peripheral nerve injury, and thus might contribute to the identification of potential treatments for peripheral nerve repair and regeneration.

·AIM: To investigate the effects of transient high perfusion pressure on the retinal vessel diameter and retinal ganglion cells.·METHODS: The animals were divided into four groups according to different infusion pressure and infusion time(60 mm Hg-3min, 60 mm Hg-5min, 100 mm Hg-3min, 100 mm Hg-5min). Each group consisted of six rabbits. The left eye was used as the experimental eye and the right as a control. Retinal vascular diameters were evaluated before, during infusion, immediately after infusion, 5min, 10 min and 30 min after infusion based on the fundus photographs. Blood pressure was monitored during infusion. The eyes were removed after 24 *** to retinal ganglion cell(RGC) was analyzed by histology.·RESULTS: Retina became whiten and papilla optic was pale during perfusion. Measurements showed significant decrease in retinal artery and vein diameter during perfusion in all of the four groups at the proximal of the edge of the optic disc. The changes were significant in the 100 mm Hg-3min group and 100 mm Hg-5min group compared with 60 mm Hg-3min group(P 1=0.025, P 2=0.000).The diameters in all the groups recovered completely after 30 min of reperfusion. The number of RGC)showed no significant changes at the IOP in 100 mm Hg with5 min compared with contralateral untreated eye(P >0.05).·CONCLUSION: Transient fluctuations during infusion lead to temporal changes of retinal vessels, which could affect the retinal blood circulation. The RGCs were not affected by this transient fluctuation. Further studies are necessary to evaluate the effect of pressure during realtime phacoemusification on retinal blood circulation.

Responses of rice growth to copper stress under free-air CO_2 enrichment (FACE)

The responses of rice to the second degree contamination of copper were studied by pot experiments under free-air CO2 enrichment (FACE) with 570 μmol·mol-1 of CO2. The results showed that the content of copper in rice leaves was reduced with the CO2 concentration reaching 570 μmol·mol-1 and this happened more significantly under the second degree contamination of copper. Under FACE, activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD) enzyme in rice leaves treated by copper contamination were induced, whereas the contents of glutathione (GSH) and glutathione disulfide (GSSG) had no significant difference from the control. In the presence of ambient CO2, activities of SOD enzyme treated by copper pollution were suppressed during the whole rice growth, however, the contents of GSH and GSSG were induced at tillering and jointing stages, and then restored to the control levels in later growth under the second degree contamination of copper. With the rice growing, the content of malondialdehyde (MDA) rises continuously, but there had been no significant difference between the treatments at the same growth stage. Further studies are needed on the response mechanism of rice to Cu stress under elevated CO2.

Solid dispersion is one of the most promising strategies to improve oral bioavailability of poorly soluble ***,there are inconsistent dissolution performances of solid dispersion reported which entails further *** this study,solid dispersions of ketoprofen in three hydrophilic carriers,*** K30,PVPVA 6:4 and PVA were prepared and *** characterization of the physical mixture of ketoprofen and carriers shows certain extent of amorphization of the *** result is coinciding to evaluation of drug-polymer interaction using ATR-FTIR whereby higher amorphization was seen in samples with higher drug-polymer *** scanning confirms that fully amorphous solid dispersion was obtained for SD KTP PVP K30 and PVPVA system whereas partially crystalline system was obtained for SD KTP ***,dissolution profiles of the solid dispersion had shown that degree of amorphization of KTP was not directly proportional to the dissolution rate enhancement of the solid dispersion ***,it is concluded that complete amorphization does not guarantee dissolution enhancement of an amorphous solid dispersion system.

AIM: To evaluate contrast visual acuity(CVA) after implantation of an aspheric apodized diffractive intraocular lens(IOL) or a spherical apodized diffractive IOL in cataract surgery. ·METHODS: This prospective randomized controlled study with a 12-month follow-up compared the results of cataract surgery with implantation of an aspheric AcrySof ReSTOR SN6AD3 IOL(30 eyes) and a spherical AcrySof ReSTOR SN60D3 IOL(30 eyes). CVA with best distance correction was measured at 4 contrast levels(100%,25%,10% and 5%) under 3 levels of chart luminance [250,85 and 25 candelas per square meter(cd/m2)] using a multi-functional visual acuity tester(MFVA-100). ·RESULTS: At 12 months after surgery,there were no statistically significant differences in 100% CVA and 25% CVA under 250cd/m2(P100% =0.875 and P25% =0.057) and 85cd/m2(P100% =0.198 and P25% =0.193) between the aspheric group and the spherical group. However,the 10% CVA and 5% CVA were significant better in aspheric group than spherical group under 250cd/m2(P10% =0.042 and P5% = 0.007) and 85cd/m2(P10% =0.002 and P5%=0.039). Under the luminance level of 25cd/m 2,no significant differences was found in the 100% CVA between the 2 group(P100% = 0.245),while aspheric group had better visual acuity in the remaining 3 contracts(P25% =0.023,P10% =0.026 and P5% = 0.002,respectively). ·CONCULSION: The aspheric AcrySof ReSTOR SN6AD3 IOL provided patients with better low-contrast visual acuity than the spherical AcrySof ReSTOR SN60D3 IOL.

Plant leaves respond to day/night cycling in a number of physiological ways. At the mRNA level, the expression of some genes changes during the 24 h period. To determine which proteins exhibited a rhythmic pattern of expression, proteomic profiles in maize seedling leaves were analyzed by high-throughput two-dimensional gel electrophoresis, combined with MALDI-TOF MS technology. Of the 464 proteins that were detected with silver staining in a pH range of 4-7, 17 （3.66%） showed clock rhythmicity in their abundance. These proteins belonged to diverse functional groups and proteins involved in photosynthesis and carbon metabolism were over-represented. These findings provide a new perspective on the relationship between the physiological functions of leaves and the clock rhythmic system.

Geochemistry of Heavy Oil in the T Block,Oriente Basin and its Origin Mechanism

Exploration and development experience show that there is obvious oil gravity difference between the southern part and northern part of the ＂M1＂reservoir in the Fanny oil field in the slope of the Oriente Basin, Ecuador. The American Petroleum Institute Gravity （API） values of oils in the northern part are higher than the one in the southern part of the Fanny oil field, with the values of 20° and 10.0°-13.0°, respectively. So the primary purpose of this study was to analyze the heavy oil characteristics of biodegradation and the oil-oil correlation according to the biomarker data and the δ^13C signature of oil samples from T block. The results of the hydrocarbon gas chromatography fingermark and the inversion attribute characteristics indicated that there are fluid compartments between the ＂M1＂ reservoir of Fanny south. Finally, the models of oil-gas accumulation under the control of multiple-activities of complicated fault systems, as well as the origin of heavy oil, are contended. The early stage oils from the western part of the basin were biodegraded heavily in varying degrees in the whole basin, and the later stage oils were derived from the southern part in a large scale and were mature and lighter. Generally, oil mixing is the primary control of net oil properties, such as API gravity in Oriente Basin. We therefore predicted that the API gravity variation of oil pools radically depends on the injection amount of the later stage oil. Because of the shale barrier in the ＂M1＂reservoir of Fanny south, the later stage hydrocarbon could not pass through and contribute to increase the oil API value.
