AIM: To investigate the contribution of the fibroblast growth factor receptor 4 (FGFR4) Gly388Arg polymorphism as a genetic risk factor for gastric cancer (GC) and to investigate any associations between this polymorphism and clinicopathological parameters and survival. METHODS: Tumors and matched adjacent non-cancer tissues were collected from 304 GC patients, and 5 mL of venous blood was collected from 62 GC patients and 392 ageand sex-matched healthy controls without cancer history from the same ethnic population. DNA was extracted, and direct sequencing analyses were performed to genotype the FGFR4 Gly388Arg polymorphism in all the samples. Differences in the genotype frequencies of the FGFR4 Gly388Arg polymorphism between GC patients and healthy controls were estimated using the χ 2 test. Binary logistic regression was used for all analysis variables to estimate risk as the ORs with 95%CIs. The relationships between the FGFR4 genotype and clinicopathological parameters were tested with the χ 2 test. The Kaplan-Meier product-limit method, the log-rank test, and the Cox regression model were applied to evaluate the effect of the FGFR4 genotype on the overall survival of patients with GC. RESULTS: In the present GC cohort, 118 patients (38.8%) were homozygous for the Gly388 allele, 124 patients (40.8%) were heterozygous, and 62 patients (20.4%) were homozygous for the Arg388 allele. The frequencies of the Gly/Gly, Gly/Arg, and Arg/Arg genotypes in the healthy controls were 33.6%, 48.0%, and 18.4%, respectively. The distributions of genotypes (χ 2 = 3.589, P = 0.166) and alleles (χ 2 = 0.342, P = 0.559) of the FGFR4 Gly388Arg polymorphism were not different between the GC patients and the healthy controls. Although we observed no correlation between the FGFR4 Gly388Arg polymorphism and clinicopathological parameters or survival in the total cohort of GC patients, the presence of the Arg388 allele was associated with shorter survival time in patients with GC if the

We examined salt tolerance responsive genes in Pak-choi under salt stress and analyze their potential function. The LRNA differential display was used to screen the transcript derived fragments （TDFs） related to salinity tolerance in tolerant and Loderately tolerant Pak-choi germplasm. Seventy-eight primer combinations generated 101 differential eDNA fragments, which ere divided into 10 expression types. Seven cDNA sequences （GenBank accession Nos. DQ006915-DQ006921） obtained and ,~quenced were highly homologous to some known expression genes or the genes related to the signaling pathways in plants under ifferent abiotic stress.

Chronic wounds are wounds that cannot heal properly due to various factors,such as underlying diseases,infection or reinjury,and improper healing of skin wounds and ulcers can cause a serious economic *** studies have shown that extracellular vesicles(EVs)derived from stem/progenitor cells promote wound healing,reduce scar formation and have significant advantages over traditional treatment *** are membranous particles that carry various bioactive molecules from their cellular origins,such as cytokines,nucleic acids,enzymes,lipids and *** can mediate cell-to-cell communication and modulate various physiological processes,such as cell differentiation,angiogenesis,immune response and tissue *** this review,we summarize the recent advances in EV-based wound healing,focusing on the signalling pathways that are regulated by EVs and their *** discuss how EVs derived from different types of stem/progenitor cells can promote wound healing and reduce scar formation by modulating the Wnt/β-catenin,phosphoinositide 3-kinase/protein kinase B/mammalian target of rapamycin,vascular endothelial growth factor,transforming growth factorβand JAK-STAT ***,we also highlight the challenges and opportunities for engineering or modifying EVs to enhance their efficacy and specificity for wound healing.

Introduction:Tracing transmission paths and identifying infection sources have been effective in curbing the spread of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).However,when facing a large-scale outbreak,this is extremely time-consuming and laborintensive,and resources for infection source tracing become *** this study,we aimed to use knowledge graph(KG)technology to automatically infer transmission paths and infection ***:We constructed a KG model to automatically extract epidemiological information and contact relationships from case *** then used an inference engine to identify transmission paths and infection *** test the model’s performance,we used data from two COVID-19 outbreaks in ***:The KG model performed well for both *** the first outbreak,20 infection relationships were identified manually,while 42 relationships were determined using the KG *** the second outbreak,32 relationships were identified manually and 31 relationships were determined using the KG *** discrepancies and omissions were ***:The KG model is a promising tool for predicting and controlling future COVID-19 epidemic waves and other infectious disease *** automatically inferring the source of infection,limited resources can be used efficiently to detect potential risks,allowing for rapid outbreak control.

Time for single vehicle combat preparation(TSVCP) is an important characteristic parameter for the operational support feature of armored vehicle. During the development phase, how to validate the TSVCP of armored vehicle through analytic method is a difficult issue in analysis and validation of vehicle *** paper uses Monte Carlo approach and builds a working model for single vehicle combat preparation(SVCP)of armored vehicle, thus realizes the prediction and analysis of the TSVCP of armored vehicle, and finally validates the effectiveness of the approach by example.
