Comparative effectiveness of several adjuvant therapies after hepatectomy for hepatocellular carcinoma patients with microvascular invasion

BACKGROUND For resectable hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),radical hepatectomy is commonly used as a curative ***,postoperative recurrence significantly diminishes the overall survival(OS)of HCC patients,especially with microva-scular invasion(MVI)as an independent high-risk factor for *** some studies suggest that postoperative adjuvant therapy may decrease the risk of recurrence following liver resection in HCC patients,the specific role of adju-vant therapies in those with MVI remains *** To conduct a network meta-analysis(NMA)to evaluate the efficacy of various adjuvant therapies and determine the optimal adjuvant *** A systematic literature search was conducted on PubMed,EMBASE,and Web of Science until April 6,*** comparing different adjuvant therapies or comparing adjuvant therapy with hepatectomy alone were *** ratios(HRs)with 95%confidence intervals were used to combine data on recurrence free survival and OS in both pairwise meta-analyses and *** Fourteen eligible trials(2268 patients)reporting five different therapies were *** terms of reducing the risk of recurrence,radiotherapy(RT)[HR=0.34(0.23,0.5);surface under the cumulative ranking curve(SUCRA)=97.7%]was found to be the most effective adjuvant therapy,followed by hepatic artery infusion chemotherapy[HR=0.52(0.35,0.76);SUCRA=65.1%].Regarding OS improvement,RT[HR:0.35(0.2,0.61);SUCRA=93.1%]demonstrated the highest effectiveness,followed by sorafenib[HR=0.48(0.32,0.69);SUCRA=70.9%].INTRODUCTION Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is the sixth most common malignant tumor in the world and ranks third in terms of worldwide malignant tumor mortality rates in 2020[1].Curative treatments for HCC include ablation,radical hepatectomy,and liver ***,ablation is suitable only for early-stage HCC patients,who represent a small percentage of the overall HCC *** liver transplantation serves as the optimal tre

Three eusauropod teeth(SDUST-V1064,PMOL-AD00176,PMOL-ADt0005)are reported from the Lower Cretaceous Yixian Formation of Ningcheng,southeastern Inner Mongolia,*** of them(SDUST-V1064,PMOL-AD00176)are assigned to early-diverging titanosauriforms in having slightly mesiodistal expansion at the base of the tooth crown,a slenderness index value>2.0 and<4.0,and D-shaped cross ***,SDUST-V1064 and PMOL-AD00176 are referred as an Euhelopus-like titanosauriform on the basis of having a sub-circular boss on the lingual surface and an asymmetrical crown-root margin which slants apically,*** scan data of SDUST-V1064 reveals new dental information of early-diverging titanosauriforms,for example,the enamel on the labial side thicker than that on the lingual side,an enamel/dentine ratio of 0.26 and a boss present on the lingual side of the dentine of the crown.

Intelligent Reflecting Surface Assisted Transmission Optimization Strategies in Wireless Networks

Wireless Power Transfer(WPT)technology can provide real-time power for many terminal devices in Internet of Things(IoT)through millimeterWave(mmWave)to support applications with large capacity and low *** the intelligent reflecting surface(IRS)can be adopted to create effective virtual links to address the mmWave blockage problem,the conventional solutions only adopt IRS in the downlink from the Base Station(BS)to the users to enhance the received signal *** practice,the reflection of IRS is also applicable to the uplink to improve the spectral *** is a challenging to jointly optimize IRS beamforming and system resource allocation for wireless energy acquisition and information *** this paper,we first design a Low-Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy(LEACH)clustering protocol for clustering and data ***,the problem of maximizing the minimum system spectral efficiency is constructed by jointly optimizing the transmit power of sensor devices,the uplink and downlink transmission times,the active beamforming at the BS,and the IRS dynamic *** solve this non-convex optimization problem,we propose an alternating optimization(AO)-based joint solution *** results show that the use of IRS dynamic beamforming can significantly improve the spectral efficiency of the system,and ensure the reliability of equipment communication and the sustainability of energy supply under NLOS link.

1 Introduction Completely decomposed granite(CDG)is widely distributed in South China(Xu et al.,2022;Wang et al.,2023).The parent granite rock mass gradually loses features during the weathering process,and thus needs to be reinforced when used(Lan et al.,2003;Dassekpo et al.,2017;Alamanis et al.,2021).On the other hand,considering the huge demand for construction materials and limited natural resources,it is increasingly important to fully utilize solid waste(Gruhler et al.,2019;Anagnostopoulos et al.,2020;Jiang et al.,2022,2023a,2023b).With high strength and environment-friendly characteristics,incineration bottom ash(IBA)seems to be a suitable reinforcement material for CDG(Ahmed and Khalid,2011;Alhassan and Tankó,2012;Toraldo et al.,2013;Lynn et al.,2017;xuan et al.,2018;Tang et al.,2020).

Exploring the molecular mechanism of Epimedium brevicornu *** treating breast cancer via network pharmacology and in vitro experiments Author links open overlay panel

Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effects of Epimedium brevicornu Maxim.(EBM,yin Yang Huo)on breast cancer using network pharmacology and in vitro *** also aimed to explore the novel targets and mechanisms of EBM in the treatment of breast cancer to facilitate the discovery of new drugs and their clinical *** Network pharmacology was used to identify and screen the components and targets of EBM for breast cancer *** docking was further screened the effective components and targets of ***-healing assays and flow cytometry analysis were used to detect the ability of two compounds to intervene in the migration and apoptosis of MDA-MB-231 cells,and their mechanism of action was further explored using western blotting *** EBM contained 19 active *** them wereβ-anhydroicaritin(Anhy)and isoliquiritigenin(Iso),which were selected for in vitro *** resulted in a dose-dependent suppression of MDA-MB-231 cell viability,with an IC50 of 23.73μmol/L for Iso and 21.28μmol/L for *** the wound healing assay,cells in Anhy and Iso groups exhibited considerable inhibition of migration at 48 *** flow cytometry analysis,treatment with Iso(20μmol/L)for 96 h resulted in significantly higher levels of both early and late apoptosis in the Iso group than that in the control group(P=.004 and P=.014,respectively).Additionally,both Iso(20μmol/L)and Anhy(10 and 20μmol/L)induced cell necrosis at 96 *** blotting revealed that Anhy and Iso increased the expression of Bax and TBK1/*** These findings suggested that Anhy and Iso,the two components of EBM,inhibit MDA-MB-231 cell proliferation and migration of and induce their apoptosis,providing substantial support for future studies on breast cancer.

Forecast of cosmological constraints with superluminous supernovae from the Chinese Space Station Telescope

Superluminous supernovae（SLSNe） are a class of intense celestial events that can be standardized for measuring cosmological parameters, bridging the gap between type Ia supernovae and the cosmic microwave background. In this work, we discuss the cosmological applications of SLSNe from the Chinese Space Station Telescope（CSST）. Our estimation suggests that SLSNe rate is biased tracing the cosmic star formation rate, exhibiting a factor of （1 + z）1.2. We futher predict that CSST is poised to observe ～360 SLSNe in the 10 square degrees ultra-deep field survey within a span of 2.5 years. A stringent constraint on cosmological parameters can be derived from their peak-color relationship. CSST is anticipated to uncover a substantial number of SLSNe, contributing to a deeper understanding of their central engines and shedding light on the nature of dark energy at high redshifts.
