SnSe exhibits excellent thermoelectric performance in both n-and p-type single crystals,but its n-type polycrystals are restricted because of the lower electrical ***,we dually introduced rare earth element Ce and PbTe to optimize the thermoelectric properties of n-type SnSe *** is demonstrated that Ce is an effective cationic dopant to convert SnSe from p-to n-type conductor,and an enhanced peak zT value of∼0.9 at 823 K was obtained in Sn 0.97 Ce 0.03 Se due to the improved power ***,PbTe alloying not only reduced the band gap to increase the carrier concentration,but also enhanced the density-of-states effective mass,and hence further increased the power factor in the whole measured temperature ***,the lattice thermal conductivity was significantly reduced owing to the enhanced phonon scattering by the mass and strain *** a result,the peak zT value was increased to∼1.3 for Sn 0.9 Pb 0.07 Ce 0.03 Se 0.93 Te 0.07 together with a high average zT value of∼0.52 in the temperature range of 300 to 823 K.

Background:Bacillus cereus is an important pathogen that causes human food poisoning,specifically diarrhea and *** can also induce mastitis in dairy cows and has a strong survival ability in milk,as it cannot be inactivated by high-temperature short-time ***,*** can enter the market through pasteurized milk and other dairy products,imposing enormous hidden dangers on food safety and human ***:In this study,*** 2101(BC)was isolated from milk samples of cows with *** grew rapidly with strong hemolysis,making it difficult to prevent mastitis and ensure food ***-T cells were treated with BC and/or Lactobacillus rhamnosus GR-1(LGR-1).Pretreatment with LGR-1 protected the integrity of tight junctions and the expression of zonula occludens-1(ZO-1)and occludin destroyed by ***,LGR-1 pretreatment reduced the expression of NOD-like receptor family member pyrin domain-containing protein 3(NLRP3),caspase recruitment and activation domain(ASC),Caspase-1 p20,gasdermin D(GSDMD)p30,inflammatory factors(interleukin(IL)-1βand IL-18),and cell death induced by ***,LGR-1 pretreatment reduced NLRP3 inflammasome activity and increased expressions of ZO-1 and occludin induced by lipopolysaccharides(LPS)+ATP ***-T cells were transfected with NLRP3 si RNA or MCC950 and/or treated with BC and/or ***3-si RNA transfection and MCC950 attenuated BC-induced NLRP3 inflammasome *** of inflammatory cytokines and cell death suggested that the inflammatory pathway might play an important role in the induction of the NLRP3 inflammasome by BC and the protection of ***:These results suggest that LGR-1 might be a probiotic alternative to antibiotics and could be administered to prevent mastitis in dairy cows,thus ensuring food security.

Rock failure can cause serious geological disasters,and the non-extensive statistical features of electric potential(EP)are expected to provide valuable information for disaster *** this paper,the uniaxial compression experiments with EP monitoring were carried out on fine sandstone,marble and granite samples under four displacement *** Tsallis entropy q value of EPs is used to analyze the selforganization evolution of rock *** the influence of displacement rate and rock type on q value are explored by mineral structure and fracture modes.A self-organized critical prediction method with q value is *** results show that the probability density function(PDF)of EPs follows the q-Gaussian *** displacement rate is positively correlated with q *** the displacement rate increasing,the fracture mode changes,the damage degree intensifies,and the microcrack network becomes *** influence of rock type on q value is related to the burst intensity of energy release and the crack fracture *** q value of EPs can be used as an effective prediction index for rock failure like b value of acoustic emission(AE).The results provide useful reference and method for the monitoring and early warning of geological disasters.

Forest fires are influenced by several factors,including forest location,species type,age and density,date of fire occurrence,temperatures,and wind speeds,among *** study investigates the quantitative effects of these factors on the degree of forest fire disaster using nonparametric statistical methods to provide a theoretical basis and data support for forest fire *** on forest fire damage from 1969 to 2013 was *** results indicate that different forest locations and types,fire occurrence dates,temperatures,and wind speeds were statistically *** eastern regions of the study area experienced the highest fire occurrence,accounting for 85.0%of the total number of fires as well as the largest average forested area ***,May,and October had more frequent fires than other months,accounting for 78.9%,while September had the most extensive forested area burned(63.08 ha)and burnt area(106.34 ha).Hardwood mixed forest and oak forest had more frequent fires,accounting for 31.9%and 26.0%,***-conifer mixed forest had the most forested area burned(50.18 ha)and burnt area(65.09 ha).Temperatures,wind speeds,and their interaction had significant impacts on forested area burned and area burnt.

Size distribution and diffuse pollution impacts of PAHs in street dust in urban streams in the Yangtze River Delta

Particles of dust washed off streets by stormwater are an important pathway of polyaromatic hydrocarbons （PAHs） into urban streams. This article presented a comprehensive assessment of the size distribution of PAHs in street dust particles, the potential risks of the particles in urban streams, and the sources and sinks of PAHs in the stream network. This assessment was based on measurements of 16 PAHs from the USEPA priority list in street dust particles and river sediments in Xincheng, China. The content of total PAHs ranged from 1629 to 8986 Dg/kg in street dust particles, where smaller particles have a higher concentrations. Approximately 55% of the total PAHs were associated with particles less than 250 μm which accounted for 40% of the total mass of street dust. The PAH quantities increased from 2.41 to 46.86 μg/m2 in the sequence of new residential, rising through main roads, old town residential, commercial and industrial areas. The sediments in stream reaches in town were found to be sinks for street dust particle PAHs. The research findings suggested that particle size, land use and the hydrological conditions in the stream network were the factors which most influenced the total loads of PAH in the receiving water bodies.

A 5-layer laminated metal composite composed of ultrahigh-strength maraging steel and ductile 316L stainless steel was fabricated by hot pressing in vacuum and post-heat *** characterization on hierarchical structure of the composite before and after heat treatment was made by optical microscopy,scanning electron microscopy and electron back-scattered diffraction technique,***,the difference of mechanical performance on both sides of the interface was characterized by nano-hardness *** tensile test showed that superior interfacial bonding was achieved due to the micro-‘bite’structure between the two steels without obvious defects or oxides at the interface and with coordinated deformation of the two ***,a laminated metal composite consisting of two different constituents with extreme difference in strength can be well fabricated.
