Atomically Substitutional Engineering of Transition Metal Dichalcogenide Layers for Enhancing Tailored Properties and Superior Applications

Transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs)are a promising class of layered materials in the post-graphene era,with extensive research attention due to their diverse alternative elements and fascinating semiconductor behavior.Binary MX2 layers with different metal and/or chalcogen elements have similar structural parameters but varied optoelectronic properties,providing opportunities for atomically substitutional engineering via partial alteration of metal or/and chalcogenide atoms to produce ternary or quaternary TMDs.The resulting multinary TMD layers still maintain structural integrity and homogeneity while achieving tunable(opto)electronic properties across a full range of composition with arbitrary ratios of introduced metal or chalcogen to original counterparts(0–100%).Atomic substitution in TMD layers offers new adjustable degrees of freedom for tailoring crystal phase,band alignment/structure,carrier density,and surface reactive activity,enabling novel and promising applications.This review comprehensively elaborates on atomically substitutional engineering in TMD layers,including theoretical foundations,synthetic strategies,tailored properties,and superior applications.The emerging type of ternary TMDs,Janus TMDs,is presented specifically to highlight their typical compounds,fabrication methods,and potential applications.Finally,opportunities and challenges for further development of multinary TMDs are envisioned to expedite the evolution of this pivotal field.

Accurate structural descriptor enabled screening for nitrogen and oxygen vacancy codoped TiO_(2) with a large bandgap narrowing

Nitrogen(N)doping has been widely adopted to improve the light absorption of TiO_(2).However,the newly introduced N-2p states are largely localized thus barely overlap with O-2p states in the valence band of TiO_(2),resulting in a shoulder-like absorption edge.To realize an apparent overlap between N-2p and O-2p states,charge compensation between N^(3-)and O^(2-)via electron transfer from oxygen vacancies(VO)to N dopants is one possible strategy.To verify this,in numerous doping configurations of N/VO-codoped anatase TiO_(2),we identified two types of VOposition independent N-dopant spatial orderings by efficient screening enabled with a newly designed structural descriptor.Compared with others,these two types of the N-dopant spatial orderings are highly beneficial for charge compensation to produce an apparent overlap between N-2p and O-2p states,therefore achieving a large bandgap narrowing.Furthermore,the two types of the N-dopant spatial orderings can also be generalized to N/VO-codoped rutile TiO_(2)for bandgap narrowing.

Robotic versus laparoscopic surgery for sporadic benign insulinoma: Short- and long-term outcomes

Background: Minimally invasive surgery is the optimal treatment for insulinoma. The present study aimed to compare short- and long-term outcomes of laparoscopic and robotic surgery for sporadic benign insulinoma. Methods: A retrospective analysis of patients who underwent laparoscopic or robotic surgery for insulinoma at our center between September 2007 and December 2019 was conducted. The demographic, perioperative and postoperative follow-up results were compared between the laparoscopic and robotic groups. Results: A total of 85 patients were enrolled, including 36 with laparoscopic approach and 49 with robotic approach. Enucleation was the preferred surgical procedure. Fifty-nine patients (69.4%) underwent enucleation; among them, 26 and 33 patients underwent laparoscopic and robotic surgery, respectively. Robotic enucleation had a lower conversion rate to laparotomy (0 vs. 19.2%, P = 0.013), shorter operative time (102.0 vs. 145.5 min, P = 0.008) and shorter postoperative hospital stay (6.0 vs. 8.5 d, P = 0.002) than laparoscopic enucleation. There were no differences between the groups in terms of intraoperative blood loss, the rates of postoperative pancreatic fistula and complications. After a median follow-up of 65 months, two patients in the laparoscopic group developed a functional recurrence and none of the patients in the robotic group had a recurrence. Conclusions: Robotic enucleation can reduce the conversion rate to laparotomy and shorten operative time, which might lead to a reduction in postoperative hospital stay. mple and efficient synthesis of metalla-aromatics with tailored distinctive optical,magnetic,redox,and light-emitting properties is attractive yet challenging.We have now successfully synthesized three paramagnetic osmanaphthalenes bearing different electron-donating groups as well as the first osmabenzo[b]carbazole containing an osmanaphthalene unit with four fused rings in good yields by subjecting suitable osmium carbyne precursors to a visible-light-induced protocol.In contrast,the four corresponding diamagnetic cyclic metal carbynes containing an osmanaphthalyne unit were obtained from the same osmium carbyne precursors by a heating method.The lowest-energy absorptions of the paramagnetic osmanaphthalenes are red-shifted compared to the corresponding osmanaphthalynes.Additionally,experimental observations including X-ray analysis as well as nucleus-independent chemical shift(NICS),anisotropy of the current-induced density(AICD)calculations revealed these novel osmapolycycles bearing phosphonium substituents to be of aromatic character.

LncRNA PU.1 AS regulates arsenic-induced lipid metabolism through EZH2/Sirt6/SREBP-1c pathway

Arsenic (As) is an omnipresent metalloid toxicant,which has elicited serious environmental pollution and health risky problems.Previous studies have uncovered that the As exposure could also cause markedly reduction of serum triglycerides in mice.However,the regulation mechanisms are still largely unknown.The present study is aimed to elucidate the molecular mechanisms of lncRNAs in As-induced lipid metabolic disequilibrium.We demonstrated that lncRNA PU.1 AS was significantly induced in the liver of As-feed mice companied with lower serum triglycerides contents;further in vitro experiment confirmed that PU.1 AS regulated liver cells lipid accumulation by nile red fluorescence staining.Intensive mechanistic investigations illustrated that PU.1 AS could interact with EZH2 protein to regulate its downstream target gene expression,and Asinduced PU.1 AS attenuated EZH2-supppressed Sirt6 expression,thereafter leading to a decreased SREBP-1c protein expression,as well as the diminished synthesis of triglycerides in hepatocytes.In conclusion,this study provided a new lncRNA-related regulatory signaling pathway participating in As-induced abnormal lipid metabolism.

N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor subunit 1 regulates neurogenesis in the hippocampal dentate gyrus of schizophrenia-like mice

N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor hypofunction is the basis of pathophysiology in schizophrenia. Blocking the N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor impairs learning and memory abilities and induces pathological changes in the brain. Previous studies have paid little attention to the role of the N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor subunit 1 (NR1) in neurogenesis in the hippocampus of schizophrenia. A mouse model of schizophrenia was established by intraperitoneal injection of 0.6 mg/kg MK-801, once a day, for 14 days. In N-methyl-D-aspartate-treated mice, N-methyl-D-aspartate was administered by intracerebroventricular injection in schizophrenia mice on day 15. The number of NR1-, Ki67- or BrdU-immunoreactive cells in the dentate gyrus was measured by immunofluorescence staining. Our data showed the number of NR1-immunoreactive cells increased along with the decreasing numbers of BrdU- and Ki67-immunoreactive cells in the schizophrenia groups compared with the control group. N-methyl-D-aspartate could reverse the above changes. These results indicated that NR1 can regulate neurogenesis in the hippocampal dentate gyrus of schizophrenia mice, supporting NR1 as a promising therapeutic target in the treatment of schizophrenia. This study was approved by the Experimental Animal Ethics Committee of the Ningxia Medical University, China (approval No. 2014-014) on March 6, 2014.

Thickness-dependent highly sensitive photodetection behavior of lead-free all-inorganic CsSnBr_(3) nanoplates

Non-layered two-dimensional(2D) lead-free all-inorganic perovskites nanoplates have recently attracted considerable attention in photodetectors;however, the indepth investigation of thickness on photodetection performance is still lacking. In this work, by constructing the famous metal-semiconductor-metal photodetectors, the photodetection behaviors of thickness-controlled CsSnBr;nanoplates are investigated systematically. Ni electrodes are adopted for ensuring the good ohmic contact behaviors of as-fabricated photodetectors. With the increase in thickness, the photodetection performances improve accordingly, such as photocurrent increases from 0.22 to 19.40 nA, responsivity increases from 72.9 to 4893.7 mA·W^(-1), rise/decay time decreases from 11/35 to 3/10 ms, respectively. Notability, the dark current also increases with the increase in thickness, making the further investigation on the reduction in dark current meaningful.All of the as-fabricated photodetectors are stable, suggesting the careful thickness selection in next-generation high-performance lead-free all-inorganic perovskites photodetectors.

A single small population of chasmophytic plants is described as Mojiangia oreophila,a monotypic genus in the subtribe Crepidinae,characterised by a unique combination of morphological features,in particular densely long-papillose homomorphic achenes with five main ribs each accompanied by two secondary ribs,coarse brownish pappus bristles,moderately many-flowered capitula,a small involucre with numerous outer phyllaries,perennial rosette herb growth and brown-woolly caudex and leaf axils.Molecular phylogenetic analysis detected that in the nrlTS phylogeny M.oreophila forms a clade of its own in the Crepidinae;in the plastid DNA phylogeny it is nested in the clade formed by the hybrid-ogenous genus Faberia,the maternal ancestor of which comes from the Crepidinae and the paternal ancestor from the Lactucinae,where Faberia is placed in nrlTS phylogenies.M.oreophila shares several morphological features with Faberia and also shares the expected chromosome number of 2n=16 with its hitherto unknown maternal ancestor.M.oreophila may therefore be a successor of the maternal ancestor of Faberia.Alternatively,cytonuclear discordance is to be assumed in Mojiangia,caused by chloroplast capture as a result of hybridisation and introgression with Faberia.

Efficacy and Safety of Guihuang Formula in Treating Type Ⅲ Prostatitis Patients with Dampness-Heat and Blood Stasis Syndrome: A Randomized Controlled Trial

Objective: To observe the efficacy and safety of Guihuang Formula(GHF) in treating patients with type Ⅲ prostatitis and Chinese medicine syndrome of dampness-heat and blood stasis. Methods: Sixty-six type Ⅲ prostatitis patients with dampness-heat and blood stasis syndrome were randomly divided into the treatment group(GHF) and the control group(tamsulosin) using a random number table, with 33 cases each group. The treatment group received GHF twice a day, and the control group received tamsulosin 0.2 mg once daily before bedtime. Patients in both groups received treatment for 6 weeks and was followed up for 2 weeks. The outcomes included the National Institute of Health Chronic Prostatitis Symptom Index(NIH-CPSI) score, Chinese Medicine Symptoms Score(CMSS), expressed prostatic secretions(EPS) and adverse events(AEs). Results: After treatment, the NIH-CPSI total score and domain scores of pain discomfort, urination and quality of life decreased significantly from the baseline in both groups(P0.05). In addition, no serious AEs were observed. Conclusion: GHF is effective in treating type Ⅲ prostatitis patients with dampness-heat and blood stasis syndrome without serious AEs.(Registration No. ChiCTR1900026966)

Driving force coordinated control of an 8x8 in-wheel motor drive vehicle with tire-road friction coefficient identification

Because of the complexities of tire-road interaction,the wheels of a multi-wheel distributed electricdrive vehicle can easily slip under certain working conditions.As wheel slip affects the dynamic per-formance and stability of the vehicle,it is crucial to control it and coordinate the driving force.With this aim,this paper presents a driving force coordination control strategy with road identification for eight-wheeled electric vehicles equipped with an in-wheel motor for each wheel.In the proposed control strategy,the road identification module estimates tire-road forces using an unscented Kalman filter al-gorithm and recognizes the road adhesion coefficient by employing the recursive least-square method According to road identification,the optimal sip ratio under the current driving condition is obtainedand a controller based on sliding mode control with a conditional integrator uses this value for accel-eration slip regulation.The anti-slip controller obtains the adjusting torque,which is integrated with the driver-command-based feedforward control torque to implement driving force coordination control.The results of hardware-in-loop simulation show that this control strategy can accurately estimate tire-roadrces as well as the friction coefficient,and thus,can effectively fulfill the purpose of driving force coordinated control under different driving conditions.
