Application value of enhanced recovery after surgery for total laparoscopic uncut Roux-en-Y gastrojejunostomy after distal gastrectomy

AIM To evaluate the safety and feasibility of enhanced recovery after surgery(ERAS) for total laparoscopic uncut Roux-en-Y gastrojejunostomy after distal *** The clinical data of 42 patients who were divided into an ERAS group(n = 20) and a control group(n = 22) were collected. The observed indicators included operation conditions, postoperative clinical indexes, and postoperative serum stress indexes. Measurement data following a normal distribution are presented as mean ± SD and were analyzed by t-test. Count data were analyzed by χ~2 *** The operative time, volume of intraoperative blood loss, and number of patients with conversion to opensurgery were not significantly different between the two groups. Postoperative clinical indexes, including the time to initial anal exhaust, time to initial liquid diet intake, time to out-of-bed activity, and duration of hospital stay of patients without complications, were significantly different between the two groups(t = 2.045, 8.685, 2.580, and 4.650, respectively, P ding postoperative complications, on the first and third days after the operation, the white blood cell count(WBC) and C reactive protein(CRP) and interleukin-6(IL-6) levels in the ERAS group were significantly lower than those in the control *** The perioperative ERAS program for total laparoscopic uncut Roux-en-Y gastrojejunostomy after distal gastrectomy is safe and effective and should be popularized. Additionally, this program can also reduce the duration of hospital stay and improve the degree of comfort and satisfaction of patients.

BACKGROUND Single incision plus one port left-side approach(SILS+1/L)totally laparoscopic distal gastrectomy(TLDG)is an emerging technique for the treatment of gastric *** port laparoscopic gastrectomy has a number of potential advantages for patients compared with conventional laparoscopic gastrectomy:relieving postoperative pain,shortening hospital stay and offering a better cosmetic ***,there are no previous reports on the use of SILS+1/L TLDG with uncut Roux-en-Y(uncut R-Y)*** To investigate the initial feasibility of SILS+1/L TLDG with uncut Roux-en-Y digestive tract reconstruction(uncut R-Y reconstruction)to treat distal gastric *** A total of 21 patients who underwent SILS+1/L TLDG with uncut R-Y reconstruction for gastric cancer were *** patients were treated at The Second Hospital of Shandong *** were performed intracorporeally with 60 mm endoscopic linear stapler and 45 mm no-knife *** clinicopathological characteristics,surgical details,postoperative short-term outcomes,postoperative follow-up upper gastrointestinal radiography findings and endoscopy results were analyzed *** All SILS+1/L operations were performed by SILS+1/L TLDG *** patient population included 13 men and 8 women with a mean age of 48.2 years(ranged from 40 years to 70 years)and median body mass index of 22.8 kg/m^*** were no conversions to open laparotomy,and no other port was *** mean operation time was 146 min(ranged 130-180 min),and the estimated mean blood loss was 54 mL(ranged 20-110 mL).The mean duration to flatus and discharge was 2.3(ranged 1-3.5)and 7.3(ranged 6-9)d,*** mean number of retrieved lymph nodes was 42(ranged 30-47).Two patients experienced mild postoperative complications,including surgical site infection(wound at the navel incision)and mild postoperative pancreatic fistula(grade A).Follow-up upper gastrointestinal ra

From waste to wealth:Coal tar residue derived carbon materials as low-cost anodes for potassium-ion batteries

Carbon materials are widely recognized as highly promising electrode materials for various energy storage system *** tar residues(CTR),as a type of carbon-rich solid waste with high value-added utilization,are crucially important for the development of a more sustainable *** this study,we employed a straightforward direct carbonization method within the temperature range of 700-1000℃to convert the worthless solid waste CTR into economically valuable carbon materials as anodes for potassium-ion batteries(PIBs).The effect of carbonization temperature on the microstructure and the potassium ions storage properties of CTR-derived carbons(CTRCs)were systematically explored by structural and morphological characterization,alongside electrochemical performances *** on the co-regulation between the turbine layers,crystal structure,pore structure,functional groups,and electrical conductivity of CTR-derived carbon carbonized at 900℃(CTRC-900H),the electrode material with high reversible capacity of 265.6m Ah·g^(-1)at 50 m A·g^(-1),a desirable cycling stability with 93.8%capacity retention even after 100 cycles,and the remarkable rate performance for PIBs were ***,cyclic voltammetry(CV)at different scan rates and galvanostatic intermittent titration technique(GITT)have been employed to explore the potassium ions storage mechanism and electrochemical kinetics of *** indicate that the electrode behavior is predominantly governed by surface-induced capacitive processes,particularly under high current densities,with the potassium storage mechanism characterized by an“adsorption-weak intercalation”*** work highlights the potential of CTR-based carbon as a promising electrode material category suitable for high-performance PIBs electrodes,while also provides valuable insights into the new avenues for the high value-added utilization of CTR.

A coordinated planning strategy of energy storage allocation and line upgrading to increase photovoltaic consumption with lowest planning cost

Random integration of massive distributed photovoltaic (PV) generation poses serious challenges to distribution networks. Voltage violations, line overloads, increased peak–valley differences, and power-flow reversals can occur at different locations, times, and severities. Traditional planning methods such as energy storage (ES) allocation and upgrading of lines may result in poor economics and low equipment utilization. This study proposes a distribution-network planning strategy that coordinates three planning mechanisms:ES allocation to substations and to feeders, and line upgrading. The proposed strategy achieved the lowest annual cost, considering the distribution network problems at different locations, times, and severities. A net load curve description method was first proposed considering economic planning and the uncertain distribution of loads and PVs. Second, a multistage optimization model for ES allocation and line upgrading was established based on the net load curves. Finally, an improved IEEE33 node system was used in the case study. The planning results show that the proposed coordinated planning strategy can address the problems caused by the random integration of massive distributed PVs, improve equipment utilization, and obtain the lowest total annual planning cost.

Controlled cationic ring-opening polymerization of L-lactide by organic ion pair: novel approach to isotactic-rich and crystalline polylactide

Living/controlled cationic ring-opening polymerization （ROP） of L-lactide is a promising approach to isotactic-rich and crystalline poly（L-lactide）.In contrast with the unsubstituted lactones,L-LA can not be polymerized by organic Lewis acids or carbenium ions,and the state of the art in this field is the cationic ROP of L-LA catalyzed by Br?nsted acid/alcohol system via activated monomer ***,we reported the first example of controlled cationic ROP of L-LA by using Meerweintype ion pair[Me3O]+[B（C6F5）4]-as the catalyst.[Me3O]+[B（C6F5）4]-promoted rapid L-LA cationic polymerization in the absence of alcohol,producing isotactic-rich and crystalline PLLA without transesterification and epimerization side *** activated chain end mechanism,involving twice SN2 substitution and configuration-inversion （S→R→S） with the assistance of released Me2O,was proposed and further verified by density functional theory and control *** work expands the catalytic toolbox of isotactic-rich and crystalline polylactide *** represents a unique example of cationic-controlled polymerization of L-LA catalyzed by an organic ion pair.

Staged dendrite suppression for high safe and stable lithium-sulfur batteries

The unavoidable dendrite growth and shuttle effect have long been stranglehold challenges limiting the safety and practicality of lithium-sulfur ***,we propose a dual-action strategy to address the lithium dendrite issue in stages by constructing a multifunctional surface-negatively-charged nanodiamond layer with high ductility and robust puncture resistance on polypropylene （PP） *** uniformly loaded compact negative layer can not only significantly enhance electron transmission efficiency and promote uniform lithium deposition,but also reduce the formation of dendrite during early deposition *** importantly,under the strong puncture stress encountered during the deterioration of lithium dendrite growth under limiting current,the high ductility and robust puncture resistance（145.88 MPa） of as-obtained nanodiamond layer can effectively prevent short circuits caused by unavoidable lithium *** Li||Li symmetrical cells assembled with nanodiamond layer modified PP demonstrated a stable cycle of over 1000 h at 2 mA cm-2with a polarization voltage of only 29.3 ***,the negative charged layer serves as a physical barrier blocking lithium polysulfide ions,effectively mitigating capacity *** improved cells achieved a capacity decay of only 0.042%per cycle after 700 cycles at 3 C,demonstrating effective suppression of dendrite growth and capacity attenuation,showing promising prospect.

In the fields of biomedicine, detection, and anti-counterfeiting, there is a widespread demand for cost-effective, easily synthesized, and environmentally friendly near-infrared(NIR) materials. Carbon dots(CDs), a cheap and non-toxic zero-dimensional carbon nanomaterial exhibiting exceptional photoluminescence(PL) properties and facile structural modification, have emerged as a promising candidate for the development of novel NIR materials. This study presents the synthesis of CDs capable of emitting a wide range of wavelengths from blue to NIR(456–836 nm) as their concentrations increase. The incorporation of oxygen and nitrogen co-doped atoms facilitates the optimization of non-coplanar angles, thereby promoting favorable π-πstacking interactions. This leads to the formation of metal-free rigid clusters through interconnecting adjacent nanoparticles in a gear-like meshing pattern through self-assembly. Consequently, intramolecular motion is constrained, vibration coupling is mitigated, non-radiative transition losses are minimized, and efficient NIR emission from CD clusters in high concentrations is ensured. Furthermore, NIR light-emitting diode(NIR LED) based on the CD clusters was successfully fabricated and employed for various applications including information encryption, anti-counterfeiting, and penetration detection in the field of NIR imaging.

Lightweight Underwater Target Detection Using YOLOv8 with Multi-Scale Cross-Channel Attention

Underwater target detection is extensively applied in domains such as underwater search and rescue,environmental monitoring,and marine resource *** is crucial in enabling autonomous underwater robot operations and promoting ocean ***,low imaging quality,harsh underwater environments,and obscured objects considerably increase the difficulty of detecting underwater targets,making it difficult for current detection methods to achieve optimal *** order to enhance underwater object perception and improve target detection precision,we propose a lightweight underwater target detection method using You Only Look Once(YOLO)v8 with multi-scale cross-channel attention(MSCCA),named *** the proposed multiscale cross-channel attention module,multi-scale attention(MSA)augments the variety of attentional perception by extracting information from innately diverse sensory *** cross-channel strategy utilizes RepVGGbased channel shuffling(RCS)and one-shot aggregation(OSA)to rearrange feature map channels according to specific *** aggregates all features only once in the final feature mapping,resulting in the extraction of more comprehensive and valuable feature *** experimental results show that the proposed YOLOv8-UOD achieves a mAP50 of 95.67%and FLOPs of 23.8 G on the Underwater Robot Picking Contest 2017(URPC2017)dataset,outperforming other methods in terms of detection precision and computational cost-efficiency.
