Toughness improvement mechanism and evaluation of cement concrete for road pavement:A review

Traditional cement concrete has the disadvantages of low tensile strength,poor toughness,and rapid development of cracks while cracking,which causes a significantly negative influence on the safety and durability of concrete road pavement.This paper presents a state-of-the-art review of toughness improvement mechanisms and evaluation methods of cement concrete for road pavement.The review indicates that(i)The performance of concrete material depends on its material composition and internal structure.Aggregate size,cement properties and admixtures are the main factors of concrete toughness.(ii)The incorporation of rubber or fiber in pavement concrete improves the toughness of concrete materials.However,these additions must be maintained within a reasonable range.The amount of rubber and fiber are encouraged not more than 30%of the volume of fine aggregate and 2%of the volume of concrete,respectively.(iii)The toughness of pavement concrete material includes the toughness regarding bending,impact and fracture.The toughness of cement concrete for highway and municipal pavement is generally evaluated by bending and fracture toughness,while the toughness of airfield pavement concrete is more focused on impact toughness.(iv)The toughening measures of cement concrete for road pavement are mainly mixed with rubber or fiber,while these two materials have their defects,and the application of hightoughness cement concrete in the actual road still faces many challenges.For example,the synergistic effect of rubber and fiber,the development and application of new flexible admixtures,and the formulation of the toughness index of pavement cement concrete materials need further research.

Interleukin(IL)-17A,a pro-inflammatory cytokine,is a fundamental function in the onset and advancement of multiple immune diseases.To uncover the primary compounds with IL-17A inhibitory activity,a large-scale screening of the library of traditional Chinese medicine constituents and microbial secondary metabolites was conducted using splenic cells from IL-17A-GFP reporter mice cultured under Th17-priming conditions.Our results indicated that some aureane-type sesquiterpene tetraketides isolated from a wetland mud-derived fungus,Myrothecium gramineum,showed remarkable IL-17A inhibitory activity.Nine new aureane-type sesquiterpene tetraketides,myrogramins A-I(1,4-11),and two known ones(2 and 3)were isolated and identified from the strain.Compounds 1,3,4,10,and 11 exhibited significant IL-17A inhibitory activity.Among them,compound 3,with a high fermentation yield dosedependently inhibited the generation of IL-17A and suppressed glycolysis in splenic cells under Th17-priming conditions.Strikingly,compound 3 suppressed immunopathology in both IL-17A-mediated animal models of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis and pulmonary hypertension.Our results revealed that aureane-type sesquiterpene tetraketides are a novel class of immunomodulators with IL-17A inhibitory activity,and hold great promise applications in treating IL-17A-mediated immune diseases.

The central dogma of modern biology underscores the pivotal roles proteins play in diverse biological processes,the study of which necessitates advanced methods to produce proteins with precision and versatility.Chemical protein synthesis,a powerful approach utilizing chemical reactions for the de novo construction of structurally accurate proteins,has emerged as a transformative tool for studying proteins and generating protein derivatives/mimics inaccessible by natural biological machinery,including post-translationally modified proteins,proteins comprised of unnatural amino acids,as well as mirror-image proteins.This review summarizes recent strides in synthetic method developments for chemical protein synthesis,including innovative techniques in solid-phase peptide synthesis,the challenges presented by difficult sequences in either synthesis or folding and the exploration of novel ligation reactions using both chemical and enzymatic methods.Furthermore,the review also delves into newly developed protocols for site-selective protein modifications and the generation of stapled or macrocyclized peptides/miniproteins,highlighting the power of chemical methods to make structurally diverse proteins.Recent applications of synthetic proteins in investigating post-translational modifications(phosphorylation,lipidation,glycosylation,ubiquitination,etc.),mirror-image biological processes and drug development are further discussed.Together,these topics provide a comprehensive overview of the current landscape of chemical protein synthesis.

CO_(2),N_(2),and CO_(2)/N_(2)mixed gas injection for enhanced shale gas recovery and CO_(2)geological storage

In this work,using fractured shale cores,isothermal adsorption experiments and core flooding tests were conducted to investigate the performance of injecting different gases to enhance shale gas recovery and CO_(2)geological storage efficiency under real reservoir conditions.The adsorption process of shale to different gases was in agreement with the extended-Langmuir model,and the adsorption capacity of CO_(2)was the largest,followed by CH_(4),and that of N_(2)was the smallest of the three pure gases.In addition,when the CO_(2)concentration in the mixed gas exceeded 50%,the adsorption capacity of the mixed gas was greater than that of CH4,and had a strong competitive adsorption effect.For the core flooding tests,pure gas injection showed that the breakthrough time of CO_(2)was longer than that of N_(2),and the CH_(4)recovery factor at the breakthrough time(Rch,)was also higher than that of N_(2).The RcH of CO_(2)gas injection was approximately 44.09%,while the RcH,of N_(2)was only 31.63%.For CO_(2)/N_(2)mixed gas injection,with the increase of CO_(2)concentration,the RcH,increased,and the RcH,for mixed gas CO_(2)/N_(2)=8:2 was close to that of pure CO_(2),about 40.24%.Moreover,the breakthrough time of N_(2)in mixed gas was not much different from that when pure N_(2)was injected,while the breakthrough time of CO_(2)was prolonged,which indicated that with the increase of N_(2)concentration in the mixed gas,the breakthrough time of CO_(2)could be extended.Furthermore,an abnormal surge of N_(2)concentration in the produced gas was observed after N_(2)breakthrough.In regards to CO_(2)storage efficiency(S_(Storage-CO_(2)),as the CO_(2)concentration increased,S storage-co_(2)also increased.The S storage-co_(2),of the pure CO_(2)gas injection was about 35.96%,while for mixed gas CO_(2)/N_(2)=8:2,S sorage-co,was about 32.28%.

External cervical resorption(ECR)refers to a pathological state in which resorption tissues penetrate into the dentin at the cervical aspect of the root.Despite being latent in its initial phase,ECR could cause severe damage to mineralized dental tissue and even involve the pulp if not given timely diagnosis and treatment.Nevertheless,the etiology of ECR is still poorly understood,which adds to the difficulty in early diagnosis.ECR has received growing attention in recent years due to the increasing number of clinical cases.Several potential predisposing factors have been recognized in cross-sectional studies as well as case reports.In the meantime,studies on histopathology and pathogenesis have shed light on possible mechanisms of ECR.This review aims to summarize the latest findings in the pathogenesis and potential predisposing factors of ECR,so as to provide pragmatic reference for clinical practice.

Surface modification of graphene oxide(GO)is a powerful strategy to develop its energy density for electrochemical energy storage.However,pre-modified GO always exhibits unsatisfactory hydrophilia and its ink-relevant utilization is extremely limited.Although GO ink is widely utilized in fabricating micro energy storage devices via extrusion-based 3D-printing,simultaneously obtaining satisfactory hydrophilia and high energy density still remains a challenge.In this work,an in-situ surface engineering strategy was employed to enhance the performance of GO micro-supercapacitor chips.Three dimensionally printed GO micro-supercapacitor chips were treated with pyrrole monomer to achieve selective and spontaneous anchoring of polypyrrole on the microelectrodes without affecting interspaces between the finger electrodes.The interface-reinforced graphene scaffolds were edge-welded and exhibited a considerably improved specific capacitance,from 13.6 to 128.4 mF·cm^(-2).These results are expected to provide a new method for improving the performance of micro-supercapacitors derived from GO inks and further strengthen the practicability of 3D printing techniques in fabricating energy storage devices.

【目的】识别探寻式搜索中的用户满意度状态,揭示用户满意度与用户查询式重构模式之间的相互作用关系和动态演化规律。【方法】利用用户查询、时序等特征,基于4种有监督学习算法进行用户满意度预测;通过挖掘用户满意度与查询式重构模式之间的相互影响规律,指导探寻式搜索智能辅助中的查询式重构推荐策略。【结果】在开放基准数据集上,所构建的满意度预测模型的预测准确率最高达到74%,优于已有基线模型;同时,相关性分析的结果表明用户满意度与查询式重构模式之间的关联关系显著。【局限】用户满意度仅代表搜索状态的一种视角,未来需要针对探寻式搜索中的用户状态构建完善统一的描述和分类体系。【结论】利用探寻式搜索中的用户搜索行为,优化了模型特征,进一步提升用户满意度预测模型的性能,并结合用户满意度演化规律,为探寻式搜索中的智能搜索辅助策略提供了有效的理论支撑。

Role of biological rhythm dysfunction in the development and management of bipolar disorders: a review

Disturbance of biological rhythms contributes to the onset of bipolar disorders and is an important clinical feature of the condition.To further explore the role of biological rhythms in bipolar disorders,95 English articles published between 1968 and 2019 were retrieved from the PubMed database and analysed.We herein review the outcomes of studies on biological rhythm disturbance in bipolar disorders,including the epidemiology,aetiology,clinical features(eg,sleep,feeding and eating disorders)and treatment of the condition evaluated by patients*selfreport and biological indicators such as melatonin.Our report supports the characterisation of biological rhythm disturbance as a significant clinical feature affecting the onset and development of bipolar disorders and reviews classical and novel treatments,such as chronotherapy,that can be applied in the clinical practice.Our analysis indicates that a more comprehensive study of the pathophysiology,clinical phenomenology and treatment of biological rhythm disturbance is required.

近年来,“时间城市规划”等规划实践方式受到越来越多关注,试图以鲜明的时间要素(如15分钟步行时间)回应城市资源配置失效等问题。本文提出时间城市规划的一种新形式一一城市生活时间规划。这类规划直接对城市时间系统进行规划和调控,即按照城市的生活时间需求,将城市的生活时间资源或供给按照一定的时间布局方式进行配置,以促进城市不同个体的生活时间需求与城市生活时间资源、布局的协调,最终实现居民生活质量的提升;其具体内容包括统筹城市总体时间资源、调整城市时空间结构的全局性规划,为落实总体规划目标而进行城市设施运营时间的调控,以及直接引导和干预个体生活时间利用的新型规划措施。本文系统阐述了城市生活时间规划的概念与目标,并论述了在多源数据支撑下开展城市总体生活时间规划、城市设施运营时间规划、居民个体时间利用规划的具体方法。本文旨在推动对城市生活时间研究及其规划的关注,为新发展背景、新技术条件下促进城市高质量发展和资源的精细化配置提供参考。
