Microstructural evolution and strengthening mechanism of aligned steel fiber cement-based tail backfills exposed to electromagnetic induction

Cemented tailings backfill(CTB)not only boosts mining safety and cuts surface environmental pollution but also recovers ores previously retained as pillars,thereby improving resource *** use of alternative reinforcing products,such as steel fiber(SF),has continuously strengthened CTB into *** approach prevents strength decreases over time and reinforces its long-term durability,especially when mining ore in adjacent underground *** this study,various microstructure and strength tests were performed on SFCTB,considering steel fiber ratio and electromagnetic induction strength *** findings show that combining steel fibers and their distribution dominantly influences the improvement of the fill’s ***’s strength rises by fiber insertion and has an evident correlation with fiber insertion and magnetic induction *** magnetic induction strength is 3×10^(-4) T,peak uniaxial compressive stress reaches 5.73 MPa for a fiber ratio of 2.0vol%.The cracks’expansion mainly started from the specimen’s upper part,which steadily expanded downward by increasing the load until damage *** doping of steel fiber and its directional distribution delayed crack *** the doping of steel fiber was 2.0vol%,SFCTBs showed excellent ductility *** energy required for fills to reach destruction increases when steel-fiber insertion and magnetic induction strength *** study provides notional references for steel fibers as underground filling additives to enhance the fill’s durability in the course of mining operations.

Polypropylene(PP)fiber-reinforced cement-based tailings backfill(FRCTB)is a green compound material with superior crack resistance and has good prospects for application in underground ***,FRCTB exhibits susceptibility to dynamic events,such as impact ground pressure and blast *** paper investigates the energy and crack distribution behavior of FRCTB under dynamic impact,considering the height/diameter(H/D)*** Hopkinson pressure bar,industrial computed tomography scan,and scanning electron microscopy(SEM)experiments were carried out on six types of *** outcomes confirmed fiber aggregation at the bottom of *** H/D was less than 0.8,the proportion of PP fibers distributed along theθangle direction of80°-90°*** the total energy,all samples presented similar energy absorption,reflectance,and ***,a rise in H/D may cause a rise in the energy absorption rate of FRCTB during the peak phase.A positive correlation existed between the average strain rate and absorbed energy per unit *** increase in H/D resulted in a decreased crack volume fraction of *** the H/D was greater than or equal to 0.7,the maximum crack volume fraction of FRCTB was observed close to the incidence *** cracks were present only in the FRCTB with an H/D ratio of *** with H/D ratios of 0.5 and 0.6 showed similar distributions of weakly and heavily damaged *** fibers can limit the emergence and expansion of cracks by influencing their *** observations revealed considerable differences in the bonding strengths between fibers and the *** that adhered particularly well to the substrate were attracted together with the hydration products adhering to *** results show that FRCTB is promising as a sustainable and green backfill for determining the design properties of mining with backfill.

A lignocellulosic biomass,durian shell,modified by radiolytic oxidizing species from gamma and electron beam irradiations,has been used as a starting material for activated carbon(AC)*** hydrothermal carbonization with ZnCl_(2)/FeCl_(3)and physical activation were employed in *** physicochemical and energy storage properties of the graphitic carbons were investigated using Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope(FESEM),N_(2)adsorption-desorption,Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET),Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy(FTIR),X-ray Diffraction(XRD),Raman spectroscopy,Cyclic Voltammetry(CV),Galvanostatic Charge-Discharge(GCD)and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy(EIS).Biomass modification by radiolytic oxidizing species aided in improving the energy storage properties of the resultant ACs without significantly changing the textural *** radiation type played an important role on the surface functional groups,basal plane,and pore structures of the graphitic *** energy storage mechanism was based on a combination of EDLC and pseudo capacitances with high Coulombic *** highest specific capacitance obtained was 325.20 F/g providing capacity retention of 94.79%after 10,000 cycles.A promising method of AC production for energy storage application has therefore been successfully demonstrated.

Aquifer thermal energy storage is a versatile method for regulating building temperatures,utilizing groundwater as a medium for both summer cooling and winter *** has high thermal conductivity and specific heat but is corrosive,creating a mineral build-up that causes ***,its high freezing point presents operational *** oils emerge as a promising alternative,owing to their lower freezing *** light of environmental concerns,researchers are exploring vegetable oils as substitutes for petroleum-derived mineral *** paper is intended as an initial study using vegetable oils,*** and sunflower oil,as the heat-transfer medium in aquifer thermal energy *** experiments assess the heat-transfer coefficient of coconut,sunflower,mineral,and synthetic oils when exposed to the same heat *** study also evaluates the impact of introducing micro-carbon(graphite and charcoal)to the *** indicate that sunflower oil has the highest heat-transfer coefficient of 374.4 W/m^(2) K among the oils,making it suitable for aquifer thermal energy storage ***,augmenting sunflower oil with charcoal powder enhances its performance by increasing the heat-transfer coefficient to 474.9 W/m^(2) K,or a 27%*** contrast,coconut oil proves unsuitable for aquifer thermal energy storage deployment because of its low heat-transfer coefficient of 293.7 W/m^(2) *** heat-transfer coefficient of synthetic oil increases with graphite powder but decreases with charcoal powder introduction.

Management of cytomegalovirus infection after liver transplantation

Cytomegalovirus(CMV)infection is one of the primary causes of morbidity and mortality following liver transplantation(LT).Based on current worldwide guidelines,the most effective strategies for avoiding post-transplant CMV infection are antiviral prophylaxis and pre-emptive ***-IgG serology is the established technique for pretransplant screening of both donors and *** clinical presentation of CMV infection and disease exhibits variability,prompting clinicians to consistently consider this possibility,partic-ularly within the first year post-transplantation or subsequent to heightened *** annual symposia to discuss CMV prevention and how treatment outcomes can be improved,evidence on the incorporation of immune functional tests into clinical practice is presented,and the results of studies with new antiviral treatments are *** there are ongoing studies on the use of letermovir and maribavir in solid organ transplantation,a consensus reflected in the guidelines has not been *** the most appro-priate strategy at the individual level appears to be the key to enhancing *** prevention strategies reduce the risk of CMV disease,the disease can still occur in up to 50%of high-risk patients.A balance between the risk of infection and disease development and the use of immunosuppressants must be considered when talking about the proper management of CMV in solid organ transplant *** objective of this study was to establish a compre-hensive framework for the management of CMV in patients who have had LT.

Epidemic management in a measles outbreak in 2023,the return of vaccine-preventable diseases:A single center,retrospective observational study

objective:To investigate the importance of immunization in preventing measles infection and to determine the most useful laboratory tests for confirmation of ***:This study included pediatric cases evaluated with a presumed diagnosis of measles between December 2022 and June 2023,at Marmara University Pendik Training and Research *** effects of vaccination status and underlying disease on the clinical course,treatments,and complications were ***:In total,117 patients were enrolled in the study with a median age of 80 months(IQR:32.5-125.0).Twelve patients with contact history were asymptomatic and had an underlying disorder,and intravenous immunoglobulin was given to them for post-exposure ***-one patients had confirmed measles *** treatment was given to three patients(a newborn,a girl with rhabdomyosarcoma,and a healthy boy)with respiratory ***-eight percent of confirmed measles cases were unvaccinated,and all hospitalized cases were unvaccinated or *** full-vaccinated children had confirmed measles *** PCR from nasopharyngeal swabs was negative in all of them,and their diagnosis was established with anti-measles IgM ***:The measles vaccine is the most effective way to protect from measles and measles-related *** measles can also occur in fully vaccinated patients,the disease is milder than in unvaccinated *** ELISA and RT-PCR tests together may be beneficial in patients with high clinical suspicion for early diagnosis.

Melatonin is a versatile indolamine synthesized and secreted by the pineal gland in response to the photoperiodic information received by the retinohypothalamic signaling *** has many benefits,such as organizing circadian rhythms and acting as a powerful *** aimed to show the antitumor effects of melatonin in both in vivo and in vitro models through the mammalian target of rapamycin(mToR)signaling pathway and the Argyrophilic Nucleolar Regulatory Region(AgNoR),using the Microcomputed Tomography(Micro CT).Ehrlich ascites carcinoma(EAC)cells were administered into the mice by subcutaneous *** with solid tumors were injected intraperitoneally with 50 and 100 mg/kg melatonin for 14 *** measurements for the taken tumors were made with micro-CT imaging,immunohistochemistry(IHC),real-time polymerase chain reaction(PCR)and ***,the tumor tissue volume in the Tumor+100 mg/kg melatonin group was significantly lower than that in the other groups in the data obtained from micro-CT *** the IHC analysis,the groups treated with Tumor+100 mg/kg melatonin were compared when the mToR signaling pathway and factor 8(F8)expression were compared with the control *** was determined that there was a significant decrease(pound in the total AgNoR area/nuclear area(TAA/NA)ratio in the treatment groups(pore,there were significant differences between the amount of mToR mRNA for the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase(PI3K),AKT Serine/Threonine Kinase(PKB/AKT)genes(poptosis was evaluated with Annexin V in an in vitro study with different doses of melatonin;It was observed that 100µg/mL melatonin dose caused an increase in the apoptotic cell *** this study,we have reported anti-tumor effects of melatonin in cell culture studies as well as in mice *** characterization of the melatonin-mediated cancer inhibitory effects will be valuable in advanc
