What can we learn from quality assurance badges in open-source software?

In the development of open-source software(OSS), many developers use badges to give an overview of the software and share some key features/metrics conveniently. Among various badges, quality assurance(QA) badges make up a large proportion and are the most prevalent because QA is of vital importance in software development, and ineffective QA may lead to anomalies or defects. In this paper, we focus on QA badges in open-source projects, which present quality assurance information directly and instantly,and aim to produce some interesting findings and provide practical implications. We collect and analyze 100000 projects written in popular programming languages from GitHub and conduct a comprehensive empirical study both inside and outside QA badges. Inside QA badges, we build a category classification for all QA badges based on the properties they focus on, which shows the types of QA badges developers use. Then,we analyze the frequency of the properties that QA badges focus on, and property combinations, too, which present their use status. We find that QA badges focus on various properties while developers give different preferences to different properties. The use status also differs between different programming languages. For example, projects written in C focus on Security to a great extent. Our findings also provide implications for developers and badge providers. Outside QA badges, we conduct a correlation analysis between QA badges and some software metrics that have potential relationships with code quality, contribution quality, and popularity. We find that QA badges have statistically significant correlations with various software metrics.

Accumulating evidence has indicated that long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs)play critical roles in the development and progression of cancers,including esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC).However,the mechanisms of lncRNAs in ESCC are still incompletely understood and therapeutic attempts for in vivo targeting cancer-associated lncRNA remain a *** RNA-sequencing analysis,we identified that LLNLR-299G3.1 was a novel ESCC-associated ***-299G3.1 was up-regulated in ESCC tissues and cells and promoted ESCC cell proliferation and *** of LLNLR-299G3.1 with ASO(antisense oligonucleotide)resulted in opposite ***,LLNLR-299G3.1 bound to cancerassociated RNA binding proteins and regulated the expression of cancer-related genes,including OSM,TNFRSF4,HRH3,and ***-seq(chromatin isolation by RNA purification and sequencing)revealed that these genes contained enriched chromatin binding sites for *** experiments confirmed that the effects of LLNLR-299G3.1 on ESCC cell proliferation were dependent on interaction with HRH3 and ***,intravenous delivery of placental chondroitin sulfate A binding peptide-coated nanoparticles containing antisense oligonucleotide(pICSA-BP-ANPs)strongly inhibited ESCC tumor growth and significantly improved animal survival in ***,our results suggest that LLNLR-299G3.1 promotes ESCC malignancy through regulating gene-chromatin interactions and targeting ESCC by pICSA-BP-ANPs may be an effective strategy for the treatment of lncRNA-associated ESCC.

采用机械合金化方法与增材制造技术制备了(FeCoCrNi)_(88-x)Mo_(8)WNb_(3)C_(x)(x=0.25、0.5、0.75、1、1.5、2、2.5)高熵合金成型件。在明确该高熵合金形成规律的基础上,进一步分析了C含量对其组织和力学性能的影响规律。结果表明:当C含量介于0.25%~2.50%(摩尔分数)之间时,(FeCoCrNi)_(88-x)Mo_(8)WNb_(3)C_(x)高熵合金均由FCC相和M_(6)C相组成;随着C含量的增加,合金的抗压强度逐渐增加,塑性呈先增大后减小趋势;当C含量为2.00%时,合金的综合力学性能最优,其抗压强度为1993.4 MPa,断裂应变为31.5%。

In this research,a novel method for regulating components in RE_(2)SiO_(5)/RE_(2)Si_(2)O_(7)multiphase silicates was developed,combining the benefits of a suitable thermal expansion coefficient(CTE)and outstanding corrosion resistance against calcium–magnesium–alumino–silicate(CMAS).This approach enhanced the overall thermophysical ***,the results from the CMAS corrosion resistance test indicated that(Lu_(1/3)Yb_(1/3)Tm_(1/3))_(2)SiO_(5)/(Lu_(1/3)Yb_(1/3)Tm_(1/3))_(2)Si_(2)O_(7)and(Lu_(1/4)Yb_(1/4)Tm_(1/4)Er_(1/4))_(2)SiO_(5)/(Lu_(1/4)Yb_(1/4)Tm_(1/4)Er_(1/4))_(2)Si_(2)O_(7)exhibited exceptional resistance to CMAS penetration,even at temperatures up to 1500℃.To comprehend the corrosion mechanism of CMAS on these silicates,we introduced a reaction–diffusion model,which involved observing the changes in the interface between the corrosion product layer and the silicate *** was achieved using electron backscatter diffraction(EBSD).These findings lay a theoretical basis for selecting rare earth elements in RE_(2)SiO_(5)/RE_(2)Si_(2)O_(7)multiphase silicates based on the radii of different rare earth cations.

Opisthopappus Shih,an endemic genus of China of perennial herb,has high ornamental value and medicinal value,is an important germplasm resource of Asteraceae owing to its drought resistance,shade resistance and cold *** genus contains two species: Opisthopapus taihangensis(Ling) Shih and Opisthopappus longilobus Shih.,only spread in Taihang Mountain,has been nominated as the 2 class protection plants in *** this study,we have developed eight SNP and ten InDel maker based transcriptome data to explore the genetic differentiation,phylogeographic structure and historical distribution pattern for this genus and this two *** genetic diversity occurred in *** genetic parameters of *** were higher than that of *** differentiation among populations was greater than that within populations,indicating genetic variation mainly existed among ***-five haplotypes obtained from SNPs fragment.47 haplotypes were in ***,other 28 haplotypes in ***,and there was no shared haplotype between this two *** H50 was widely distributed in ***,maybe an ancestral haplotype;while haplotypes of *** were more abundant and complex and no ancestral haplotype *** time of Opisthopappus haplotypes appeared before 13.2 *** two species,haplotypes differentiation time was about 8-9 Ma *** expansion had no experienced during the evolution process of Opisthopappus Shih,however,an expansion was present in *** and ***(P> 0.05).No matter InDel data or SNPs sequences,all twenty-four populations could be divided into 2 groups,which represented *** and *** *** component analysis showed that Annual Mean Temperature,Mean Temperature of Warmest Quarter,Annual Precipitation,Precipitation of Wettest Quarter and Altitude played a major role in the distribution of *** polymorp

Despite sufficient studies performed in non-primate animal models,there exists scanty information obtained from pilot trials in non-human primate animal models,severely hindering nanomaterials moving from basic research into clinical *** herein present a pioneering demonstration of nanomaterials based optical imaging-guided surgical operation by using macaques as a typical kind of non-human primate-animal ***,taking advantages of strong and stable fluorescence of the small-sized(diameter:~5 nm)silicon-based nanoparticles(SiNPs),lymphatic drainage patterns can be vividly visualized in a real-time manner,and lymph nodes(LN)are able to be sensitively detected and precisely excised from small animal models(e.g.,rats and rabbits)to non-human primate animal models(e.g.,cynomolgus macaque(Macaca fascicularis)and rhesus macaque(Macaca mulatta)).Compared to clinically used invisible near-infrared(NIR)lymphatic tracers(i.e.,indocyanine green(ICG);etc.),we fully indicate that the SiNPs feature unique advantages for naked-eye visible fluorescence-guided surgical operation in long-term *** toxicological analysis in macaque models further provides confirming evidence of favorable biocompatibility of the SiNPs *** expect that our findings would facilitate the translation of nanomaterials from the laboratory to the clinic,especially in the field of cancer treatment.

Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide(NADH)regeneration is necessary for the sustainable application of enzymatic *** Rh-based complex[Cp^(*)Rh(bpy)(H)]+has been widely used as an important mediator in NADH regeneration systems,but it is limited by complexity and high ***,a Z-scheme was constructed by loading Rh onto carbon nitride nanosheets/carbon nitride quantum dots(CN-CNQD).The resultant catalyst achieved a high yield of NADH in a mediator-free(M-free)system of 0.283 mmol L^(−1) g^(−1) min^(−1),which is 5.29 times that of pure *** enzyme introduction experiments confirmed that the enzyme active product 1,4-NADH could reach 34.21%selectivity in the M-free *** research revealed that the heterojunction between CNs and CNQDs improved the NADH regeneration activity in the traditional M-involved system,while Rh loading was proved to optimize the yield and selectivity of 1,4-NADH in M-free *** immobilized Rh shows more competitiveness than[Cp^(*)Rh(bpy)(H)]^(+).This study contributes to the construction of an M-free system for further application in greener,lower-cost enzymatic processes.

Elevating the comprehensive thermal properties of rare-earth cerates through high-entropy design

In the rapidly evolving aerospace sector,the quest for sophisticated thermal barrier coating(TBC)materials has *** materials are primarily sought for their superior comprehensive thermal characteristics,which include a low thermal conductivity coupled with a high coefficient of thermal expansion(CTE)that synergizes with the *** our study,we adopt a solid-state method to synthesize a series of high-entropy rare-earth cerates:La_(2)Ce_(2)O_(7)(1RC),(La_(1/2)Nd_(1/2))2Ce_(2)O_(7)(2RC),(La_(1/3)Nd_(1/3)Sm_(1/3))_(2)Ce_(2)O_(7)(3RC),(La_(1/4)Nd_(1/4)Sm_(1/4)Eu_(1/4))_(2)Ce_(2)O_(7)(4RC),and(La_(1/5)Nd_(1/5)Sm_(1/5)Eu_(1/5)Gd_(1/5))2Ce2O7(5RC),all sintered at 1,600℃ for 10 *** thoroughly examine their phase structure,morphology,elemental distribution,and thermal *** in-depth analysis of the phonon scattering mechanisms reveals that 4RC and 5RC exhibit exceptional thermal properties:high CTEs of 13.00×10^(−6) K^(−1) and 12.77×10^(−6) K^(−1) at 1,400℃,and low thermal conductivities of 1.55 W/(m·K)and 1.68 W/(m·K)at 1,000℃,*** to other TBC systems,4RC and 5RC stand out for their excellent thermal *** study significantly contributes to the development of high-entropy oxides for TBC applications.
