According to the boot process of modern computer systems,whoever boots first will gain control *** advantage of this feature,a malicious code called bootkit can hijack the control before the OS bootloader and bypass security mechanisms in boot *** makes bootkits difficult to detect or clean up *** the improvement of security mechanisms and the emergence of UEFI,the attack and defense techniques for bootkits have constantly been *** first introduce two boot modes of modern computer systems and present an attack model of bootkits by some sophistical *** we discuss some classic attack techniques used by bootkits from their initial appearance to the present on two axes,including boot mode axis and attack phase ***,we evaluate the race to the bottom of the system and the evolution process between bootkits and security *** last,we present the possible future direction for bootkits in the context of continuous improvement of OS and firmware security mechanisms.

Rye(Secale cereale genome RR),a close relative of common wheat,possesses valuable resistance genes for wheat *** to the co-evolution of pathogen virulence and host resistance,some resistance genes derived from rye have lost *** and identification of new,effective resistance genes from rye is thus *** the current study,wheat-rye line WR56 was produced through distant hybridization,embryo rescue culture,chromosome doubling and ***56 was then proved to be a wheat-rye 2 RL ditelosomic addition line using GISH(genomic in situ hybridization),mc-FISH(multicolor fluorescence in situ hybridization),ND-FISH(non-denaturing FISH),mc-GISH(multicolor GISH)and rye chromosome arm-specific marker ***56 exhibited a high level of adult plant resistance to powdery mildew caused by Blumeria graminis ***(Bgt).This resistance was carried by the added 2 RL telosomes and presumed to be different from Pm7 which is also located on chromosome arm 2 RL but confers resistance at the seedling and adult ***56 will be a promising bridging parent for transfer of the resistance to a more stable wheat breeding line.A newly developed2 RL-specific KASP(kompetitive allele specific PCR)marker should expedite that work.

Plant AT-rich sequence and zinc-binding protein(PLATZ)is a plant transcription factor that has been studied in *** can non-specifically bind to sequences rich in A/T bases to induce transcriptional *** is involved in the regulation of dehydration tolerance in *** this study,we performed bioinformatics analysis to identify and characterize wheat PLATZ(TaPLATZ)*** identified 49 wheat PLATZ genes by searching the wheat genome by using known PLATZ gene sequences from rice,Arabidopsis,and *** analysis on PLATZ gene sequences from different species was *** found that PLATZs could be divided into three *** chromosome(chr)distribution analysis revealed that the 49 identified wheat PLATZ genes are distributed in 15 *** structure and motif analyses indicated that most PLATZ genes possess conserved exon/intron arrangements and motif *** analysis of transcriptional data indicated that several wheat PLATZ genes may play an important role in abiotic stress resistance given that they are expressed under salt *** results of qRT-PCR further confirmed that TaPLATZ is involved in plant abiotic stress and is also related to the cell differentiation of plant *** results lay the foundation for further studies on the function of the wheat PLATZ gene family.

Acoustic Characteristics of Advertisement Calls in Babina adenopleura

Acoustic communication is the most important form of communication in anuran amphibians. To understand the acoustic characteristics of male Babina adenopleura, we recorded advertisement calls and analyzed their acoustic parameters during the breeding season. Male B. adenopleura produced calls with a variable number of notes（1–5）, and each note contained harmonics. Although 6% of call notes did not exhibit frequency modulation（FM）, two call note FM patterns were observed：（1） upward FM;（2） upward–downward FM. With the exception of 1- and 5- note calls, the duration of successive notes decreased monotonically. With the exception of 1 note calls, the fundamental frequency of the first note was lowest, then increased; the greatest change in the fundamental frequency was always between notes 1 and 2. The dominant frequency varied between calls. For example for the first call note the dominant frequency occurred in some cases in the first harmonic（located in the 605.320 ± 64.533 Hz frequency band）, the second harmonic（918 ± 9 Hz band）, the fourth harmonic（1712 ± 333 Hz band）, the sixth harmonic（the 2165 ± 152 Hz band）, the seventh harmonic（the 2269 ± 140 Hz band）, the eighth harmonic（the 2466 ± 15 Hz band） or the ninth harmonic（the 2636 ± 21 Hz band）. Although male B. adenopleura advertisement calls have a distinctive structure, they have similar characteristics to the calls of the music frog, B. daunchina.

The primary dendrite spacing(PDS) and segregation of directionally solidified single crystal(SC) superalloy under the longitudinal magnetic field(LMF) were investigated based on the analysis of the whole cross-sectional microstructure at different solidification distances. The results show that the PDS under the LMF remains basically unchanged at different solidification distances, and it is greater than that under no LMF. With the increase of magnetic field intensity, the PDS increases and the macrosegregation decreases. The increasing PDS and reducing segregation under the LMF can be attributed to the increase of solute boundary layer, which expands the non-equilibrium freezing temperature range and brings the effective partition coefficient closer to 1. The increase of the solute enrichment layer thickness could be caused by the downward secondary circulation generated by the thermoelectric magnetic convection(TEMC) near the interface, which drives the migration of solutes towards the interdendritic region. This work not only clarifies the mechanism of LMF controlling PDS and reducing segregation by TEMC, but also provides theoretical guidance for producing high-quality SC superalloys using magnetic fields.

Triticum urartu,a diploid wild wheat and progenitor of the A genome of bread wheat,is an important resource for resistance to powdery mildew fungus caused by Blumeria graminis ***(Bgt).In the present study we systematically characterized the interaction between the Bgt fungus and *** at the microscopic *** also tested 227 *** accessions for reaction to Bgt isolate E09 and discovered previously uncategorized powdery mildew resistance in this ***60 is a CC-NB-LRR type powdery mildew resistance gene that has at least three functional alleles,Pm60,Pm60a,and Pm60b.A marker-assisted screen targeting the Pm60 locus identified a non-functional allele of Pm60a,designated as Pm60a′.A sequence comparison of Pm60a′and Pm60a revealed that they differed by 58 SNPs and one 3-nucleotide *** on the sequence variations two molecular markers were developed to differentiate the functional Pm60a allele from the non-functional Pm60a′.Our screen revealed the presence of a previously uncharacterized powdery mildew resistance in *** and provides new insights into the Pm60 *** believe that the two molecular markers developed here and new *** resistant accessions will facilitate further identification of novel powdery mildew resistance genes and benefit breeding for powdery mildew resistance.

Powdery mildew,caused by Blumeria graminis ***(Bgt),is a devastating disease that seriously threatens wheat yield and *** control this disease,host resistance is the most effective *** with the resistance genes from common wheat,alien resistance genes can better withstand infection of this highly variable *** of elite alien germplasm resources with powdery mildew resistance and other key breeding traits is an attractive strategy in wheat *** this study,three wheat-rye germplasm lines YT4-1,YT4-2,and YT4-3 were developed through hybridization between octoploid triticale and common wheat,out of which the lines YT4-1 and YT4-2 conferred adult-plant resistance(APR)to powdery mildew while the line YT4-3 was susceptible to powdery mildew during all of its growth *** genomic in situ hybridization,multi-color fluorescence in situ hybridization,multi-color GISH,and molecular marker analysis,YT4-1,YT4-2,and YT4-3 were shown to be cytogenetically stable wheat-rye 6R addition and T1RS.1BL translocation line,6RL ditelosomic addition and T1RS.1BL translocation line,and T1RS.1BL translocation line,*** with previously reported wheat-rye derivative lines carrying chromosome 6R,YT4-1 and YT4-2 showed stable APR without undesirable pleiotropic effects on agronomic ***,these novel wheat-rye 6R derivative lines are expected to be promising bridge resources in wheat disease breeding.
