Particle Distribution Informed by Chain Rigidity in Diblock Copolymer Melts: The Effect of Entropy

We study the effect of chain rigidity on tailoring the nanoparticle locations for neutral and selective particles embedded in the lamellar morphology formed by semiflexible diblock copolymer chains using self-consistent field calculations. The nanoparticles are modeled through a cavity function, and the semiflexible chains are represented by the continuous Kratsky-Porod chain model. In general situation, the nanoparticles prefer to stay at the interface in order to reduce the interface areas and thus the system free energy. However, the particle distribution at the domain center is subtle, and the underlying physics is intrinsically different depending on the polymer flexibility. In the case of flexible chains, the entropy just contributes a constant shift to the free energy when the nanoparticles move around the domain center indicating that the local metastable state if appears at the domain center is wholly attributed to the local minimum in the enthalpy. If the polymers are rigid, the variation of the particle distribution at the domain center has a close relation with the polymer rigidity and nanoparticle size. In the case of strongly rigid polymers with small nanoparticles, a nearly uniform particle distribution at the domain center is observed, while in other cases, a local enhancement of particle distribution there is found. In contrast to the case of flexible chains, further analysis reveals the crucial role of entropy in controlling the shape of particle distributions at the phase domain. Specifically, the local metastable state appears in the domain center is determined by the large entropy there which arises from the weak coupling of bond orientations that allows the polymer chains to be relatively relaxed. When the particle becomes selective, its distribution in the phase domain exhibits a shift almost uniformly rather than changes its profile, and the underlying physics still holds. A Fibonacci View on the Galois NFSR Used in Trivium

Trivium is an international standard of lightweight stream ciphers(ISO/IEC 29192-3:2012).In this paper,the Trivium-like NFSRs,a class of Galois NFSRs generalized from the Galois NFSR of Trivium,are studied from the perspective of Fibonacci *** is shown that an n-stage Trivium-like NFSR cannot be equivalent to an n-stage Fibonacci NFSR,which is proved by showing the existence of“collision initial states”.As an intermediate conclusion,a necessary and sufficient condition for a kind of linear degeneracy of a Trivium-like NFSR is obtained from the persepective of interleaved ***,the smallest stage number of a Fibonacci NFSR that can generate all the output sequences of an n-stage Trivium-like NFSR is shown to be greater than n-7 and this value is no less than 371=287+min{93,84,111}specifically for the 288-stage Galois NFSR used in *** results contradict the existence of a equivalent Fibonacci model of Trivium NFSR of small stage,which implies that Trivium algorithm possesses a fair degree of immunity against“structure attack”.

Oily wastewater from ocean oil spills endangers marine ecosystems and human health. Therefore, developing an effective and sustainable solution for separating oil-water mixtures is urgent. Interfacial solar photothermal evaporation is a promising approach for the complete separation of two-phase mixtures using only solar energy. Herein, we report a carbonized wood-based absorber with Janus structure of comprising a hydrophobic top-layer and an oleophobic bottom-layer for simultaneous solar-driven oil-water separation and electricity generation. Under sunlight irradiation, the rapid evaporation of seawater will induce a separation of oil-water mixtures, and cause a high salt concentration region underlying the interface, while the bottom “bulk water” maintains in a low salt concentration, thus forming a salinity gradient. Electricity can be generated by salinity gradient power. Therefore, oil-water separation efficiency of > 99% and derived extra electricity power of ~0.1 W/m2 is achieved under solar radiation, demonstrating the feasibility of oil-water separation and electricity production synchronously directly using solar energy. This work provides a green and cost-effective path for the separation of oil-water mixtures.

Comprehensive Evaluation Method for Traffic Flow Data Quality Based on Grey Correlation Analysis and Particle Swarm Optimization

Nowadays,data are more and more used for intelligent modeling and prediction,and the comprehensive evaluation of data quality is getting more and more attention as a necessary means to measure whether the data are usable or ***,the comprehensive evaluation method of data quality mostly contains the subjective factors of the evaluator,so how to comprehensively and objectively evaluate the data has become a bottleneck that needs to be solved in the research of comprehensive evaluation *** order to evaluate the data more comprehensively,objectively and differentially,a novel comprehensive evaluation method based on particle swarm optimization(PSO)and grey correlation analysis(GCA)is presented in this *** first,an improved GCA evaluation model based on the technique for order preference by similarity to an ideal solution(TOPSIS)is ***,an objective function model of maximum difference of the comprehensive evaluation values is built,and the PSO algorithm is used to optimize the weights of the improved GCA evaluation model based on the objective function ***,the performance of the proposed method is investigated through parameter analysis.A performance comparison of traffic flow data is carried out,and the simulation results show that the maximum average difference between the evaluation results and its mean value(MDR)of the proposed comprehensive evaluation method is 33.24%higher than that of TOPSIS-GCA,and 6.86%higher than that of *** proposed method has better differentiation than other methods,which means that it objectively and comprehensively evaluates the data from both the relevance and differentiation of the data,and the results more effectively reflect the differences in data quality,which will provide more effective data support for intelligent modeling,prediction and other applications.

An extended state observer with adjustable bandwidth for measurement noise

In this paper,a bandwidth-adjustable extended state observer(ABESO)is proposed for the systems with measurement *** is known that increasing the bandwidth of the observer improves the tracking speed but tolerates noise,which conflicts with observation ***,we introduce a bandwidth scaling factor such that ABESO is formulated to a 2-degree-of-freedom *** observer gain is determined and the bandwidth scaling factor adjusts the bandwidth according to the tracking *** the tracking error decreases,the bandwidth decreases to suppress the noise,otherwise the bandwidth does not *** is proven that the error dynamics are bounded and converge in finite *** relationship between the upper bound of the estimation error and the scaling factor is *** the scaling factor is less than 1,the ABESO has higher estimation accuracy than the linear extended state observer(LESO).Simulations of an uncertain nonlinear system with compound disturbances show that the proposed ABESO can successfully estimate the total disturbance in noisy *** mean error of total disturbance of ABESO is 15.28% lower than that of LESO.

In this paper,a novel adaptive Fault-Tolerant Control(FTC)strategy is proposed for non-minimum phase Hypersonic Vehicles(HSVs)that are affected by actuator faults and parameter *** strategy is based on the output redefinition method and Adaptive Dynamic Programming(ADP).The intelligent FTC scheme consists of two main parts:a basic fault-tolerant and stable controller and an ADP-based supplementary *** the basic FTC part,an output redefinition approach is designed to make zero-dynamics stable with respect to the new ***,Ideal Internal Dynamic(IID)is obtained using an optimal bounded inversion approach,and a tracking controller is designed for the new output to realize output tracking of the nonminimum phase HSV *** the ADP-based compensation control part,an ActionDependent Heuristic Dynamic Programming(ADHDP)adopting an actor-critic learning structure is utilized to further optimize the tracking performance of the HSV control ***,simulation results are provided to verify the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed FTC algorithm.

A systematic COSMO-RS study on mutual solubility of ionic liquids and C6-hydrocarbons

When considering the usage of ionic liquids(ILs)for reactions and separations involving non-polar or weak-polar hydrocarbons,the knowledge of the mutual solubility behaviors of ILs and hydrocarbons is of the utmost *** this work,taking four typical C6-hydrocarbons namely benzene,cyclohexene,cyclohexane,and hexane as representatives,the mutual solubility of ILs and non-polar or weak-polar hydrocarbons are systematically studied based on the COSMO-RS *** reliability of COSMO-RS for these systems is first evaluated by comparing experimental and predicted hydrocarbon-in-IL activity coefficient at infinite dilution and binary/ternary liquid-liquid equilibria of related ***,the mutual solubility of the four hydrocarbons and13,650 ILs(composed by 210 cations and 65 anions)are *** effect of different IL structural characteristics including alkyl chain length,cation family/symmetry/functional group,and anion on the IL-hydrocarbon mutual solubility behaviors are further analyzed by the analyses of interaction energy and screen charge *** mutual solubility databases and the structural effects identified thereon could provide useful guidance for IL selection in related applications.

Public transport inclusion and active aging: A systematic review on elderly mobility

Global aging has brought attention to addressing the elderly mobility dilemma,and a commitment to address inclusive transport in *** inclusion for older adults aims at establishing an age-friendly transport *** a direct policy goal and promoting active aging as an indirect social goal,to help older populations gain access to transport and social *** on the analysis of scientific knowledge mapping over the past 30 years,this study visualizes the hotspots and trends in elderly mobility *** a qualitative analysis of 138 papers,this paper reviews the theoretical foundations for transport inclusion and three themes of elderly mobility research,proposes a framework for public transport(PT)inclusion research as well as future research *** study suggests that transport inclusion can help enhance elderly health,social participation,and subjective *** can improve their travel opportunities for active aging in four ways:opportunity accessibility,physical accessibility,age-friendly informationalization,and cost *** research should pay attention to examining the mechanism of perceived transport inclusion on active aging,expanding the multilevel research space of the capability approach(CA),and exploring the subjectiveobjective integrated research model for PT *** research contributes to the overall knowledge of the theoretical and empirical researches on PT inclusion for the elderly and promotes the integrated application of interdisciplinary knowledge in the field.

For a coupled slow-fast FitzHugh-Nagumo(FHN)equation derived from a reaction-diffusionmechanics(RDM)model,Holzer et al.(2013)studied the existence and stability of the travelling pulse,which consists of two fast orbit arcs and two slow ones,where one fast segment passes the unique fold point with algebraic decreasing and two slow ones follow normally hyperbolic critical curve *** and Zhang(2021)obtained the existence of the travelling pulse,whose two fast orbit arcs both exponentially decrease,and one of the slow orbit arcs could be normally hyperbolic or not at the ***,we characterize both the nonlinear and spectral stability of this travelling pulse.
