Dual-Schottky-junctions coupling device based on ultra-longβ-Ga_(2)O_(3)single-crystal nanobelt and its photoelectric properties

High qualityβ-Ga_(2)O_(3)single crystal nanobelts with length of 2−3 mm and width from tens of microns to 132μm were synthesized by carbothermal reduction method.Based on the grown nanobelt with the length of 600μm,the dual-Schottky-junctions coupling device(DSCD)was fabricated.Due to the electrically floating Ga_(2)O_(3)nanobelt region coupling with the double Schottky-junctions,the current I_(S2)increases firstly and rapidly reaches into saturation as increase the voltage V_(S2).The saturation current is about 10 pA,which is two orders of magnitude lower than that of a single Schottky-junction.In the case of solar-blind ultraviolet(UV)light irradiation,the photogenerated electrons further aggravate the coupling physical mechanism in device.I_(S2)increases as the intensity of UV light increases.Under the UV light of 1820μW/cm^(2),I_(S2)quickly enters the saturation state.At V_(S2)=10 V,photo-to-dark current ratio(PDCR)of the device reaches more than 104,the external quantum efficiency(EQE)is 1.6×10^(3)%,and the detectivity(D*)is 7.5×10^(12)Jones.In addition,the device has a very short rise and decay times of 25−54 ms under different positive and negative bias.DSCD shows unique electrical and optical control characteristics,which will open a new way for the application of nanobelt-based devices.

Parsing Objects at a Finer Granularity: A Survey

Fine-grained visual parsing, including fine-grained part segmentation and fine-grained object recognition, has attracted considerable critical attention due to its importance in many real-world applications, e.g., agriculture, remote sensing, and space technologies. Predominant research efforts tackle these fine-grained sub-tasks following different paradigms, while the inherent relations between these tasks are neglected. Moreover, given most of the research remains fragmented, we conduct an in-depth study of the advanced work from a new perspective of learning the part relationship. In this perspective, we first consolidate recent research and benchmark syntheses with new taxonomies. Based on this consolidation, we revisit the universal challenges in fine-grained part segmentation and recognition tasks and propose new solutions by part relationship learning for these important challenges. Furthermore, we conclude several promising lines of research in fine-grained visual parsing for future research.

Mechanism of interfacial effects in sodium-ion storage devices

Rechargeable sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)are considered as the next-generation secondary batteries.The performance of SIB is determined by the behavior of its electrode surface and the electrode–electrolyte interface during charging and discharging.Thus,the characteristics of these surfaces and interfaces should be analyzed to realize large-scale energy storage systems with high energy density and long-cycle stability.Although various studies have investigated the properties of electrode materials,few studies have focused on the construction of stable and efficient SIB interfaces,and even fewer have explored the mechanisms of interfacial effects;however,the strategies of regulating interfacial effects are yet to be completely developed.Moreover,the results obtained thus far are insufficient to draw systematic conclusions.The present study reviews the literature on the mechanism of interfacial effects in Na+storage devices.The interfaces in a sodium-ion storage device include a heterogeneous interface between electrode materials,a solid electrolyte interphase,and a cathode electrolyte interphase.The interfacial effects during the intercalation,transformation,and alloy reactions and the resulting overall battery performance were theoretically analyzed.In this review,we aim to provide a theoretical basis for optimizing the structures of electrode surface and electrode–electrolyte interface to optimize the performance of SIBs.In addition,the challenges of investigating interfacial effects and several possible helpful methods and opportunities for studying the mechanisms of interfacial effects in SIBs will be presented.

Role of phosphorus on the biogeochemical behavior of cadmium in the contaminated soil under leaching and pot experiments

Phosphorus(P)is involved in various biochemical reactions in plant growth,so it is beneficial to plants growing in soils contaminated by metals,including cadmium(Cd).However,few studies have reported on the mechanistic roles of P in mitigating Cd toxicity to ryegrass root,and especially in alleviating the disruption of the mitochondrial function of living cells.In this study,the physiological and biochemical mechanisms associated with ryegrass growth under various Cd and P treatments were investigated using leaching and pot systems.The concentration of Cd in soil leachates showed a significantly positive relationship with redox potential(P<0.05),but negative relationship(P<0.05)with leachate pH values and dissolved organic carbon(DOC),indicating that exogenous P addition(as H_(2)PO_(4)*)may decrease Cd leaching from contaminated soil.Compared to the control(without P addition),the cumulative Cd content was reduced by 53.3%and 64.5%in the soil leachate with exogenous P application(20 mg/L and 80 mg/L),respectively.Notably,application of P decreased the Cd concentrations in the symplastic fractions and increased the Cd concentrations in the apoplastic fractions in root tips,which may help to alleviate Cd stress to the protoplast.Moreover,exogenous P was found to play a positive role in mitochondrial function and Ca^(2+)variation in root cells under Cd stress,which provides novel insights into the mechanisms of exogenous P in alleviating plant Cd injury.

Zeolite-confined Fe-site catalysts(ZFCs)have emerged as superior materials for sustainably producing high-value chemicals through CO_(2) hydrogenation,owing to their adaptable framework,customizable composition,and thermal robustness.They excel in activating,adsorbing,and converting CO_(2) with remarkable efficiency and consistency in performance.This has sparked a surge in research interest in recent years.The review delves into the latest advancements in CO_(2) catalytic hydrogenation to olefins,alcohols,aromatics,and other liquid hydrocarbons,examining the synthesis,modification tactics,and the correlation between structure and performance across various ZFCs.Additionally,it underscores the pivotal factors affecting performance and sheds light on the mechanisms behind selectivity control in the CO_(2) hydrogenation process facilitated by ZFCs.To conclude,it presents pressing challenges and strategic recommendations to inspire the development of high-performance,durable ZFCs for CO_(2) hydrogenation applications.

Design and experimental validation of event-triggered multi-vehicle cooperation in conflicting scenarios

Platoon control is widely studied for coordinating connected and automated vehicles(CAVs)on highways due to its potential for improving traffic throughput and road safety.Inspired by platoon control,the cooperation of multiple CAVs in conflicting scenarios can be greatly simplified by virtual platooning.Vehicle-to-vehicle communication is an essential ingredient in virtual platoon systems.Massive data transmission with limited communication resources incurs inevitable imperfections such as transmission delay and dropped packets.As a result,unnecessary transmission needs to be avoided to establish a reliable wireless network.To this end,an event-triggered robust control method is developed to reduce the use of communication resources while ensuring the stability of the virtual platoon system with time-varying uncertainty.The uniform boundedness,uniform ultimate boundedness,and string stability of the closed-loop system are analytically proved.As for the triggering condition,the uncertainty of the boundary information is considered,so that the threshold can be estimated more reasonably.Simulation and experimental results verify that the proposed method can greatly reduce data transmission while creating multi-vehicle cooperation.The threshold affects the tracking ability and communication burden,and hence an optimization framework for choosing the threshold is worth exploring in future research.

To the Editor:Normal-tension glaucoma(NTG)is a progressive optic neuropathy characterized by irreversible blindness with statistically normal intraocular pressure(IOP)(≤21 mmHg),^([1,2])which makes early-stage diagnosis in the clinical practice difficult.Pathophysiological pathways underlying NTG include vascular dysregulation,toxic metabolite accumulation,and elevated translaminar cribrosa pressure difference(TLCPD).^([3])Although various small animal models have provided evidence of different pathophysiological mechanisms,the complicated clinical phenotype cannot be fully imitated by secondary disease models,and the gap between rodents and humans weakens their translational potential.Thus,the pathological changes associated with NTG remain unclear.

Background:Acute pancreatitis(AP)is a severe disorder that leads to high morbidity and mortality.Appropriate reference genes are important for gene analysis in AP.This study sought to study the expression stability of several reference genes in the golden Syrian hamster,a model of AP.Methods:AP was induced in golden Syrian hamster by intraperitoneal injection of ethanol(1.35 g/kg)and palmitoleic acid(2 mg/kg).The expression of candidate genes,including Actb,Gapdh,Eef2,Ywhaz,Rps18,Hprt1,Tubb,Rpl13a,Nono,and B2m,in hamster pancreas at different time points(1,3,6,9,and 24 h)posttreatment was analyzed using quantitative polymerase chain reaction.The expression stability of these genes was calculated using Best Keeper,Comprehensive Delta CT,Norm Finder,and ge Norm algorithms and Ref Finder software.Results:Our results show that the expression of these reference genes fluctuated during AP,of which Ywhaz and Gapdh were the most stable genes,whereas Tubb,Eef2,and Actb were the least stable genes.Furthermore,these genes were used to normalize the expression of TNF-αmessenger ribonucleic acid in inflamed pancreas.Conclusions:In conclusion,Ywhaz and Gapdh were suitable reference genes for gene expression analysis in AP induced in Syrian hamster.

Design of improved error-rate sliding window decoder for SC-LDPC codes: reliable termination and channel value reuse

In this paper， an improved error-rate sliding window decoder is proposed for spatially coupled low-density parity-check (SC-LDPC) codes. For the conventional sliding window decoder， the message retention mechanism causes unreliable messages along the edges of belief propagation (BP) decoding in the current window to be kept for subsequent window decoding. To improve the reliability of the retained messages during the window transition， a reliable termination method is embedded， where the retained messages undergo more reliable parity checks. Additionally， decoding failure is unavoidable and even causes error propagation when the number of errors exceeds the error-correcting capability of the window. To mitigate this problem， a channel value reuse mechanism is designed， where the received channel values are utilized to reinitialize the window. Furthermore， considering the complexity and performance of decoding， a feasible sliding optimized-window decoding (SOWD) scheme is introduced. Finally， simulation results confirm the superior performance of the proposed SOWD scheme in both the waterfall and error floor regions. This work has great potential in the applications of wireless optical communication and fiber optic communication.

无托槽隐形矫治的成功依赖于合理的方案设计、良好的患者配合以及高质量的复诊监控。高质量的复诊监控要求正畸医师能较好地完成对牙齿移动的实时监测,包括评估牙齿位置是否与矫治方案一致,以及根骨关系是否安全合理。然而,临床上进行频繁的放射性检查并不现实。在数字化技术快速发展的今天,基于生物力学原理、图像处理算法及多模态数据融合的方法均显示出监测牙齿移动的临床应用潜力。本文对这些方法的研究进展及其在监测牙齿移动的应用逐一介绍,以供临床医师参考。
