Recent advances in memristors based on two-dimensional ferroelectric materials

In this big data era, the explosive growth of information puts ultra-high demands on the data storage/computing, such as high computing power, low energy consumption, and excellent stability. However, facing this challenge, the traditional von Neumann architecture-based computing system is out of its depth owing to the separated memory and data processing unit architecture. One of the most effective ways to solve this challenge is building brain inspired computing system with in-memory computing and parallel processing ability based on neuromorphic devices. Therefore, there is a research trend toward the memristors, that can be applied to build neuromorphic computing systems due to their large switching ratio, high storage density, low power consumption, and high stability. Two-dimensional (2D) ferroelectric materials, as novel types of functional materials, show great potential in the preparations of memristors because of the atomic scale thickness, high carrier mobility, mechanical flexibility, and thermal stability. 2D ferroelectric materials can realize resistive switching (RS) because of the presence of natural dipoles whose direction can be flipped with the change of the applied electric field thus producing different polarizations, therefore, making them powerful candidates for future data storage and computing. In this review article, we introduce the physical mechanisms, characterizations, and synthetic methods of 2D ferroelectric materials, and then summarize the applications of 2D ferroelectric materials in memristors for memory and synaptic devices. At last, we deliberate the advantages and future challenges of 2D ferroelectric materials in the application of memristors devices.

Topological photonics provides a platform for robust energy transport regardless of sharp corners and ***,the frequency multiplexing topological devices have attracted much attention due to the ability to separate optical signals by wavelength and hence the potential application in optical communication *** frequency multiplexing topological devices are generally based on the slow light ***,the resulting static local spatial mode or finely tuned flat band has zero-group velocity,making it difficult for both experimental excitation and channel ***,we propose and experimentally demonstrate an alternative prototype of asymmetric frequency multiplexing devices including a topological rainbow and frequency router based on floating topological edge mode(instead of localized ones);hence the multiple wavelength channels can be collectively excited with a point source and efficiently routed to separate output *** channel separation in our design is achieved by gradually tuning the band gap truncation on a topological edge band over a wide range of frequencies.A crucial feature lies in that the topological edge band is detached from bulk states and floating within the upper and lower photonic band *** interestingly,due to the sandwiched morphology of the edge band,the top and bottom band gaps will each truncate into transport channels that support topological propagation towards opposite directions,and the asymmetrical transportation is realized for the frequency multiplexing topological devices.

Interval analysis for neural networks with application to fault detection

This paper investigates an interval analysis method for neural networks and applies it to fault detection for systems with unknown but bounded measurement noise. First, a novel interval analysis method is presented, which can compute the bounds of the output of a feedforward neural network subject to a bounded input. By applying the proposed interval analysis method to a network trained with fault-free system data, adaptive thresholds for fault detection are computed. Finally, one can acquire fault detection results via a fault detection strategy. The proposed method can achieve tight bounds of the network output and employ simple operations, which leads to accurate fault detection results and a low computational burden.A numerical simulation and an experiment on an AC servo motor are given to illustrate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method.

We discuss a novel window to probe the origin of our universe via the mass functions of primordial black holes(PBHs).The mass functions of PBHs are simply estimated using the conventional Press-Schechter formalism for two paradigms of cosmic origin,including inflationaryΛCDM and bounce *** standard inflationaryΛCDM model cannot generate an appreciable number of massive PBHs;however,non-trivial inflation models with blue-tilted power spectra at small scales and matter bounce cosmology provide formation mechanisms for heavy PBHs,which in turn,may seed the observed supermassive black holes(SMBHs).By fitting the SMBH mass functions at high redshift(z~6)derived from Sloan Digital Sky Survey(SDSS)and Canada-France High-z Quasar Survey(CFHQS)quasars,for two paradigms of cosmic origin,we derive constraints on the PBH density fraction fPBHat z~6 and the characteristic mass M_(★),with the prior assumption that all SMBHs stem from *** demonstrate that this newly proposed procedure,relying on astronomical measurements that utilize deep-field surveys of SMBHs at high redshift,can be used to constrain models of cosmic ***,although not the main focus of this paper,we evolve the mass function from z~6 to z~0 through an assumption of 3×10^(8)-year Eddington’s accretion,and give a rough estimation of fPBHat z~0.

Intravitreal injection of conbercept for diabetic macular edema complicated with diabetic nephropathy

AIM:To observe the therapeutic effect of conbercept on diabetic macular edema(DME)complicated with diabetic nephropathy(DN).METHODS:In this retrospective study,54 patients(54 eyes)that diagnosed as DME from January 2017 to October 2021 were *** patients were divided into two groups:DME patients with DN(25 eyes),and DME patients without DN(29 eyes).General conditions were collected before treatment,laboratory tests include fasting blood glucose,HbA1c,microalbumin/creatinine,serum *** coherence tomography(OCT)was used to check the ellipsoidal zone(EZ)and external limiting membrane(ELM)*** macular thickness(CMT),best corrected visual acuity(BCVA),and retinal hyperreflective foci(HF)as well as numbers of injections were ***:There were significant differences between fasting blood glucose,HbA1c,serum creatinine,urinary microalbumin/creatinine,and estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR)between the two groups(all PmaR)in the DME group was significantly better than that in the DME+DN group at the same time points during treatment(all P<0.05).CMT and HF values were significantly higher in the DME+DN group than that in the DME group at the all time points(all P<0.05)and significantly decreased in both groups with time during *** 6mo after treatment,the mean number of injections in the DME+DN and DME group was 4.84±0.94 and 3.79±0.86,***:Conbercept has a significant effect in short-term treatment of DME patients with or without DN,and can significantly ameliorate BCVA,CMT and the number of HF,treatment efficacy of DME patients without DN is better than that of DME patients with DN.

Selective sintering of magnesia-calcia materials by utilizing hot spots during induction sintering process

magnesia-calcia refractories are widely used in the production process of clean steel due to their excellent high-tem-perature stability,slag resistance and ability to purify molten ***,there are still problems such as difficult sintering and easy ***-calcia materials with various calcium oxide contents were prepared by using induction sintering,and the sintering property combined with the hydration resistance of the materials was *** experimental results showed that the magnesia-calcia materials prepared under induction field had higher density,microhardness and hydration *** particular,the relative density of induction sintered magnesia-calcia materials with 50 mo1%CaO was greater than 98%,and the average grain size of CaO was 4.56μm,which was much larger than that of traditional sintered *** order to clarify the densification and microstructure evolution mechanism of the magnesia-calcia materials,the changes in temperature and magnetic field throughout the sintering process were analyzed by using finite element *** results showed that the larger heating rate and higher sintering temperature under the induction sintering mode were beneficial to the rapid *** addition,the hot spots generated within the material due to the difference in high-temperature electric conductivity between MgO and CaO were the critical factor to realize selective sintering in MgO-CaO system,which provides a novel pathway to solve the problem of difficult sintering and control the microstructure of high-temperature composite material used in the field of high-purity steel smelting.
