Fluorescent carbon dots synthesized in solid phase and air for application in LEDs

Carbon dots(CDs)have been widely adopted as optical materials because of their excellent luminescent ***,most of the reported synthetic methods are conducted in solvents,especially hydrothermal/solvothermal reactions,leading to intractable problems such as toxic and flammable solvents,complex and inseparable by-products,and dangerously high pressures and ***-phase synthesis of CDs in air is an effective solution to overcome the above issues,but solid reactions always result in uncontrolled growth and agglomeration of *** this study,some inorganic salts are selected as catalysts for synthesizing CDs in solid states and air,which also play as dispersants to hinder CDs *** the meantime,some aromatic derivatives containing hydroxyl and amino groups are chosen as carbon sources,ground with the optimized catalyst,and then heated together in *** production yields are affected by the reaction time and reactant ratio,while the graphitization degrees of the CDs are determined by the reaction *** IG/ID value of their Raman spectra increases from 0.59 to 0.85,and the particle size decreases from 2.5 to 1.4 nm when the synthesis temperature is increased from 200 to 280℃.The as-prepared CDs show emission peaks ranging from 366 to 606 nm,with the photoluminescence(PL)quantum yield up to 53%.Their emission color variation mainly results from different carbon sources,which can be ascribed to the differences in the element composition,functional groups,and graphitic nitrogen content of these *** dispersing CDs of different concentrations into polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)and combining them with blue LEDs,cold,standard,and warm white light emitting devices(WLEDs)are prepared,with a color rendering index(CRI)up to *** the as-prepared CDs have antioxidant ability at high temperature,the as-prepared WLEDs have long lifespans,remaining the effective white luminescence after 72 h continuous work.

To the Editor:SARS-CoV-2,the pathogen responsible for the pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),has had profound impacts on human health,and its antagonist Paxlovid is a commonly used treatment option[1].However,treatment selection for immunosuppressed patients,such as liver recipients,remains uncertain due to potential drug interactions and the risk of immunosuppressant dosage adjustment,which can cause liver injury[2].

Early-onset and later-onset cancer:trends,risk factors,and prevention in Northern China

The characteristics of early-onset(onset age<50 years)and later-onset(onset age≥50 years)cancers differ *** novel risk factors for both types of cancer is crucial for increasing awareness of cancer prevention and for reducing its *** study aimed to analyze the trends in incidence and risk factors for early-onset and late-onset *** conducted a prospective study by drawing data from the Kailuan *** study included 6,741 participants with cancer(624 with early-onset cancer and 6,117 with later-onset cancer)and 6,780 matched controls among the 186,249 participants who underwent Kailuan health examinations from 2006 to *** primary outcomes were cancer incidence rates,and associated risk factors for early-and later-onset *** Cox regression was used to calculate hazard ratios and 95% confidence intervals of each exposure factor for early-and later-onset cancer by cancer *** risk proportions were used to estimate the number of cases that could be prevented by eliminating a risk factor from the *** for liver cancer,incidence rates for nearly all types of cancer increased during the study ***,alcohol consumption,lipid metabolism disorders,hypertension,diabetes mellitus,fatty liver,and inflammation were associated with a significantly increased risk of cancer at multiple sites,but risk factors for cancer incidence differed by ***,alcohol consumption,inflammation,and hypertension were the major contributors to preventable *** incidence of several different types of cancer,including earlyonset cancer,is increasing in northeastern *** in risk factors between early-onset and later-onset malignancies may contribute to the divergence in the observed changes in incidence trends between these two specific types of cancer.

On Maximal Injectivity

A right R-module E over a ring R is said to be maximally injective in case for any maximal right ideal m of R, every R-homomorphism f ： m → E can be extended to an R-homomorphism f^1 ： R → E. In this paper, we first construct an example to show that maximal injectivity is a proper generalization of injectivity. Then we prove that any right R-module over a left perfect ring R is maximally injective if and only if it is injective. We also give a partial affirmative answer to Faith＇s conjecture by further investigating the property of maximally injective rings. Finally, we get an approximation to Faith＇s conjecture, which asserts that every injective right R-module over any left perfect right self-injective ring R is the injective hull of a projective submodule.

Network correlation between investor’s herding behavior and overconfidence behavior

It is generally accepted that herding behavior and overconfidence behavior are unrelated or even mutually ***,these behaviors can both lead to some similar market anomalies,such as excessive trading volume and volatility in the stock *** to the limitation of traditional time series analysis,we try to study whether there exists network relevance between the investor’s herding behavior and overconfidence behavior based on the complex network *** the investor’s herding behavior is based on market trends and overconfidence behavior is based on past performance,we convert the time series data of market trends into a market network and the time series data of the investor’s past judgments into an investor ***,we update these networks as new information arrives at the market and show the weighted in-degrees of the nodes in the market network and the investor network can represent the herding degree and the confidence degree of the investor,*** stock transaction data of Microsoft,US S&P 500 stock index,and China Hushen 300 stock index,we update the two networks and find that there exists a high similarity of network topological properties and a significant correlation of node parameter sequences between the market network and the investor ***,we theoretically derive and conclude that the investor’s herding degree and confidence degree are highly related to each other when there is a clear market trend.

Voltammetric determination of uric acid by using gold nanotubule electrode

Gold nanotubule membranes were prepared by using electroless deposition of gold within the pores and surfaces of polycarbonate track-etched membranes. And the gold nanotubule membrane was used as an electrode for determination of uric acid in urine samples for the first time. In Britton–Robinson buffer of pH 4.56, uric acid exhibited well-defined differential pulse voltammograms. And the interference between coexistent ascorbic acid and uric acid was overcome owing to the attractive ability of the gold nanotubule electrode to yield a large anodic peak difference ca. 0.404 V (vs. SCE). The proposed method was then applied to the determination of uric acid in urine without any pretreatment.

Reconstructed rheometer for direct monitoring of dewatering performance and torque in tailings thickening process

To further clarify the dewatering performance and torque evolution during the tailings thickening process,a self-made rake was connected to a rheometer to monitor the shear stress and *** dewatering performance of the total tailings was greatly improved to a solid mass fraction of 75.33%in 240 *** dewatering process could be divided into three stages:the rapid torque growth period,damping torque growth period,and constant torque thickening *** machine restart was found to have a significant effect on the rake torque;it could result in rake ***,the simultaneous evolution of the torque and solid mass fraction of thickened tailings was analyzed.A relationship between the torque and the solid mass fraction was established,which followed a power *** the experimental and theoretical results provide a reference for the deep cone thickener design and operation to enhance the dewatering performance.

LapRLSR for NIR spectral modeling and its application to online monitoring of the column separation of Salvianolate

A novel near infrared （NIR） modeling method-Laplacian regularized least squares regression （LapRLSR） was presented,which can take the advantage of many unlabeled spectra to promote the prediction performance of the model even if there are only few calibration samples. Using LapRLSR modeling, NIR spectral analysis was applied to the online monitoring of the concentration of salvia acid B in the column separation of Salvianolate. The results demonstrated that LapRLSR outperformed partial least squares （PLS） significantly, and NIR online analysis was applicable.

Clinical value of serum CA19-9 levels in evaluating resectability of pancreatic carcinoma

AIM:To evaluate the clinical value of serum CA19-9 levels in predicting the respectability of pancreatic carcinoma according to receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve analysis. METHODS:Serum CA19-9 levels were measured in 104 patients with pancreatic cancer which were possible to be resected according to the imaging. ROC curve was plotted for the CA19-9 levels. The point closest to the upper left-hand corner of the graph were chosen as the cut-off point. The sensitivity,specificity,positive and negative predictive values of CA19-9 at this cut-off point were calculated. RESULTS:Resectable pancreatic cancer was detected in 58(55.77%) patients and unresectable pancreatic cancer was detected in 46(44.23%) patients. The area under the ROC curve was 0.918 and 95% CI was 0.843-0.992. The CA19-9 level was 353.15 U/mL,and the sensitivity and specificity of CA19-9 at this cut-off point were 93.1% and 78.3%,respectively. The positive and negative predictive value was 84.38% and 90%,respectively. CONCLUSION:Preoperative serum CA19-9 level is a useful marker for further evaluating the resectability of pancreatic cancer. Obviously increased serum levels of CA19-9(> 353.15 U/mL) can be regarded as an ancillary parameter for unresectable pancreatic cancer.
