Perioperative remedial antiviral therapy in hepatitis B virus-related hepatocellular carcinoma resection:How to achieve a better outcome

BACKGROUND Although the benefits of antiviral therapy for hepatitis B virus(HBV)-related hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)have been proven,researchers have not con-firmed the differences in patient outcomes between patients who received preoperative antiviral therapy for a period of time(at least 24 wk)and patients who received remedial antiviral therapy just before radical resection for HBV-related *** To investigate the efficacy of perioperative remedial antiviral therapy in patients with HBV-related *** A retrospective study of patients who underwent radical resection for HBV-related HCC at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University from January 2016 to June 2019 was *** the history of antiviral therapy,patients were assigned to remedial antiviral therapy and preoperative antiviral therapy *** Kaplan–Meier analysis revealed significant differences in overall survival(P<0.0001)and disease-free survival(P=0.035)between the two *** analysis demonstrated that a history of preoperative antiviral treatment was independently related to improved survival(hazard ratio=0.27;95%confidence interval:0.08-0.88;P=0.030).CONCLUSION In patients with HBV-related HCC,it is ideal to receive preoperative long-term antiviral therapy,which helps patients tolerate more extensive hepatectomy;however,remedial antiviral therapy,which reduces preoperative HBV-DNA levels to less than 4 Log10 copies DNA/mL,can also result in improved outcomes.

This work aims at a priori accuracy controlled truncation to the dissipaton equation of motion formalism for non-perturbative quantum dissipative dynamics. A new truncation scheme is proposed by adopting the Markovian and high-temperature approximation similar to the Caldeira-Leggett master equation made at the termination level. An accuracy criterion to determine the truncation level is put forward via a Markovianicity analysis. Performances of both the new truncation scheme and the control criterion are illustrated via dynamics simulation of electron transfer systems.

Self-nucleation of Patterned Polymer Thin Films Defined by Soft Lithography

The nucleation of crystals is often a determining step in the phase transition of materials,but it remains a challenge to control the density and specific location of nuclei *** we fabricated the isolated single crystals of uniform size with controlled number density and spatial distribution by self-nucleation of patterned dendritic *** lithography creates the periodic void space on the surface of poly(ethylene oxide)-b-poly(2-vinyl pyridine)(PEO-b-P2VP)block copolymer thin films and provides spatial redistribution of polymers,leading to the preferential nucleation and subsequent oriented growth of dendrites in the periodic arrays of imprinted *** morphology and thermal stability of the patterned crystals can be adjusted by tuning embossing conditions(e.g.,temperature and pressure).Furthermore,in the self-nucleation technique,the annealing temperature and heating rate are used as the feedback parameters to map the number density and spatial distribution of regrown single *** PEO-b-P2VP crystalline pattern can be used as a versatile template for large-area manufacturing of selective metal patterns for electronic devices and other applications.

Role and mechanism of matrine alone and combined with acitretin for HaCaT cells and psoriasis-like murine models

Background: Acitretin and matrine have been used in the treatment of psoriasis in China. This study was designed to investigate the role and related mechanisms of matrine alone and in combination with acitretin in the treatment of psoriasis in vitro and in vivo. Methods: HaCaT cells were treated with matrine at different concentrations of 0 (blank control), 0.2, 0.4, 0.8, and 1.6 mg/mL for 24, 48, 72 h, respectively. 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-5-(3-carboxymethoxyphenyl)-2-(4-sulfophenyl)-2H-tetrazolium cell viability assay was used to assess the growth and proliferation of HaCaT cells. Cell cycle and apoptosis were detected by flow cytometry. Expression of protein was detected by Western blotting. Autophagy was observed by transmission electron microscopy. Then HaCaT cells were assigned to normal saline (NS) control group, matrine (0.4 mg/mL) group, acitretin (10 μmol/L) group, and matrine plus acitretin group, and the above methods were repeated. In animal experiments, the cumulative score (erythema, scaling, thickening) as a measure of the severity of inflammation was used to measure the skin performance of mice after treated with matrine 50 mg/kg, acitretin 4.5 mg/kg or combination of the two drugs on the psoriasis-like mouse models, respectively. Pathological findings of the lesions were observed, and the protein expressions in the lesions were detected by immunohistochemistry. Results: Cell proliferation inhibition was seen in HaCaT cells with treatment of matrine in a dose- and time-dependent manner (P < 0.01, respectively). Cell cycle G0/G1 phase arrest was observed in a dose-dependent way (P < 0.01). The expression of p21 (P < 0.05), LC3II/I (P < 0.01), and Beclin 1 (P < 0.01) increased and the expression of cyclin D1 (P < 0.05) decreased with increasing doses of matrine. Compared with the blank control, more autophagosomes were seen in HaCaT cells treated with matrine at 0.4 mg/mL by transmission electron microscopy (2.667 ± 1.202 vs. 21.33 ± 1.453, t = 9

Distributed Economic MPC for Synergetic Regulation of the Voltage of an Island DC Micro-Grid

In this paper,distributed model predictive control(DMPC) for island DC micro-grids(MG) with wind/photovoltaic(PV)/battery power is proposed,which coordinates all distributed generations(DG) to stabilize the bus voltage together with the insurance of having computational efficiency under a real-time *** on the feedback of the bus voltage,the deviation of the current is dispatched to each DG according to cost over the prediction ***,to avoid the excessive fluctuation of the battery power,both the discharge-charge switching times and costs are considered in the model predictive control(MPC) optimization problems.A Lyapunov constraint with a time-varying steady-state is designed in each local MPC to guarantee the stabilization of the entire *** voltage stabilization of the MG is achieved by this strategy with the cooperation of *** numeric results of applying the proposed method to a MG of the Shanghai Power Supply Company shows the effectiveness of the distributed economic MPC.

Artificial Intelligence and Network Pharmacology Reveal the Medication Rules of Professor wang Yu-ying in the Treatment of Climacteric Syndrome

Objective: The objective of this study was to explore the medication rules and academic ideas of Professor wang Yu-ying in the treatment of climacteric syndrome(CLS) and to predict new prescriptions. Materials and Methods: The characteristics of frequency, clustering, four properties, and five flavors were analyzed, and new prescriptions were predicted through an artificial intelligence(AI)-based method. The potential pathways of new prescriptions were explored through network pharmacology-based analysis. Results: The top 16 medicinals used by Professor wang Yu-ying in the treatment of CLS included Danggui, Longgu, Muli, Fuling, Chuanxiong, Gancao, Xiangfu, and Tusizi. The AI method was applied to predict the basic prescription for treating CLS: Danggui 15 g, Duanlonggu 30 g, Duanmuli 30 g, Fuling 28 g, Chuanxiong 10 g, Gancao 6 g, Xiangfu 12 g, Tusizi 14 g, etc., Gene Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway enrichment analyses showed that the pathogenesis of CLS might be related to the estrogen pathway, involving typical steroid responses. Conclusions: This study summarized Professor wang's medication experience in the treatment of CLS based on the data mining of clinical diagnoses and treatment cases. The AI method was used to predict the new prescription of CLS treatment, which was found to be reasonable by network pharmacology studies on its multi-target and multi-pathway mechanisms.

To quantify the seismic effectiveness of the most commonly used fishing line tie up method for securing museum collections and optimize fixed strategies for exhibitions,shaking table tests of the seismic systems used for typical museum collection replicas have been carried *** influence of body shape and fixed measure parameters on the seismic responses of replicas and the interaction behavior between replicas and fixed measures have been *** on the results,seismic effectiveness evaluation indexes of the tie up method are *** suggestions for fixed strategies are given,which provide a basis for the exhibition of delicate museum collections considering the principle of minimizing seismic responses and *** analysis results show that a larger ratio of height of mass center to bottom diameter led to more intense rocking *** the initial pretension of fishing lines was conducive to reducing the seismic responses and stress variation of the *** comprehensive consideration of the interaction forces and effective securement,it is recommended to apply 20%of breaking stress as the initial *** specific museum collections that cannot be effectively protected by the independent tie up method,an optimized strategy of a combination of fishing lines and fasteners is recommended.

Scuffing failure analysis based on a multiphysics coupling model and experimental verification

General reductions in lubricant viscosities and increasing loads in machine components highlight the role of tribofilms in providing surface protection against ***,the relationship between the scuffing process and the growth and removal of tribofilm is not well *** this study,a multiphysics coupling model,which includes hydrodynamic lubrication,asperity contact,thermal effect,tribochemistry reaction,friction,and surface wear,was developed to capture the initiation of surface *** and experiments for a piston ring and cylinder liner contact were conducted following a step-load sequence under different temperature *** results show that high temperature and extreme load could induce the lubricant film collapse,which in turn triggers the breakdown of the tribofilm due to the significantly increased removal *** failures of both lubricant film and tribofilm progress instantaneously in a coupling way,which finally leads to severe scuffing.

Hydrogen bond-mediated polyoxometalate-based metal-organic networks for efficient and selective oxidation of aryl alkenes to aldehydes

Selective oxidation of aryl alkenes to aldehydes is an important approach to produce industrial raw materials,in which the exploration of an efficient heterogeneous catalyst is significant but *** this work,three hydrogen bond-mediated polyoxometalate(POM)-contained metal–organic networks with the formulas of[Ni(BTD)2(H2O)2]2[SiW12O40]·12H2O(1),[Ni(BTD)2(H2O)]2[SiW12O40]·6H2O(2)and[Zn(BTD)2(H2O)]2[SiW12O40]·6H2O(3)(BTD=4H,4ʹH-[3,3ʹ-bi(1,2,4-triazole)]-5,5ʹ-diamine)were hydrothermally synthesized,in which the metal–organic fragments interact with POM clusters via abundant hydrogen bonding to extend the structure into three-dimensional supramolecular *** be explored as heterogenous catalysts,compounds 1–3 showed high catalytic activity and selectivity for the selective oxidation of styrene to *** them,compound 1 exhibits the highest performance with ca.99%styrene conversion and ca.99%selectivity of benzaldehyde in 5 ***,compound 1 displays rich substrate compatibility,recyclability and good structural stability.A series of experiments demonstrated that the high performance of compound 1 should be attributed to the synergistic effect among polyoxoanion and coordination-unsaturated metal centers in metal–organic fragments,which facilitates the activation of H2O2 and styrene substrates,thus enhancing the catalytic performance.
