Problem identification and revitalization strategies for the recovery and reconstruction of traditional villages in the Ms 6.8 Luding Earthquake

Post-disaster reconstruction is a topic of global concern,and traditional villages have special heritage attributes and need to face more requirements and obstacles in post-disaster *** paper summarizes four concepts based on the research on post-disaster reconstruction both domestically and internationally,as well as the recovery and reconstruction of cultural *** a field survey of traditional villages in the Ms 6.8 Luding earthquake-stricken area,it is found that there are problems such as insufficient awareness of heritage value,misalignment of scientific reconstruction technology,and insufficient protection of reconstruction elements during the reconstruction *** villages face the risk of declining or even loss of heritage *** order to effectively protect traditional villages and inherit the carrier of regional culture,four targeted reconstruction response strategies are proposed,i.e.,to"establish special planning for traditional village preservation","emphasize recovery of the authenticity of village heritage","ensure elements for village heritage recovery"and"promote the activation and utilization of village heritage",based on the problems discovered during the survey and the four concepts summarized in the research on post-disaster reconstruction of traditional *** research results hope to provide useful reference for ancient cultural areas affected by earthquakes on how to protect cultural heritage during the post-disaster reconstruction process.

As offshore wind farms expand into deeper and farther ocean regions and the unit capacity of offshore wind turbines(OWTs)increases,there is a pressing need for a new foundation structure that can accommodate deep-sea conditions and support large capacities while maintaining economical and *** meet this goal of integrated transportation and one-step installation,a novel five-bucket jacket foundation(FBJF),with its suction installation and leveling methods in sand,has been proposed,analyzed and experimentally ***,seepage failure experiments of the FBJF at various depths were conducted,and a formula for calculating the critical suction of seepage failure suitable for the FBJF in sand was chosen and recommended for use with a range of values for the permeability coefficient ***,through leveling experiments of the FBJF at different depths,the maximum adjustable leveling angle during the sinking process was defined using seepage failure and the adjustable leveling angle of the foundation as control *** leveling control strategies were proposed and ***,an automatic sinking and leveling control system for the FBJF was developed and experimentally verified for feasibility.

A group of massive galaxies at redshifts of z■7 have been recently detected by the James Webb Space Telescope(JWST),which were unexpected to form at such an early time within the standard Big Bang *** this work,we propose that this puzzle can be explained by the presence of some primordial black holes(PBHs)with a mass of~1000M_(⊙).These PBHs act as seeds for early galaxy formation with masses of~10^(8)-10^(10)M_(⊙)at high redshift,hence accounting for the JWST *** use a hierarchical Bayesian inference framework to constrain the PBH mass distribution models,and find that the Lognormal model with the M_(c)~750M_(⊙)is preferred over other *** rapidly growing BHs are expected to have strong radiation and may appear as high-redshift compact objects,similar to those recently discovered by *** we focused on PBHs in this work,the bound on the initial mass of the seed black holes remains robust even if they were formed through astrophysical channels.

Despite the recent advances in the selective functionalization of C–C bonds in specific substrates,cleavage and functionalization of C–C bonds in acyclic substrates,such as ethane derivatives,remains *** contrast to the well-developed functionalization of one carbon fragment after C–C bond cleavage,herein,we report a novel electro-reductive carboxylation of C(sp^(3))–C(sp^(3))bond in multi-aryl ethanes with carbon dioxide(CO_(2))by utilizing both carbon ***,this reaction exhibits an atom-,step-economic approach for the synthesis of carboxylic acids,fulfilling principal aspirations of organic ***,this method features mild reaction conditions,broad substrate scope,and good functional group *** and asymmetric substrates bearing primary,secondary,or tertiary C(sp^(3))–C(sp^(3))bonds are all amenable to this strategy,enabling one or two structurally different carboxylic acids to be facilely constructed at the same *** investigations indicate that carbanions might be the key intermediates in this reaction,which could be captured by CO_(2)efficiently.

Glaciers have retreated and shrunk in High Mountain Asia since the mid-20th century because of global warming,leading to glacier instability and hazardous iceesnow ***,the complex relationship between iceesnow avalanches and factors such as climate and potential triggers are difficult to understand because of the lack of observational ***,we addressed iceesnow avalanches on the Annapurna Ⅱ glacier in Nepal,Central *** constructed an iceesnow avalanche history using long-term multi-source remote sensing images(1988-2021)and mapped the velocity fields of glaciers using cross-correlation analysis on SAR and optical ***,we investigated the impact of climate change and earthquakes on the frequency and size of iceesnow *** results demonstrate that the frequency of iceesnow avalanches has increased from 10 in 1988 to 27 in 2020,but the average area of iceesnow avalanche deposits has decreased by approximately 70%,from 3.4×10^(5) m^(2) in 1988 to 1.2×10^(5) m^(2) in *** evolutionary characteristic of ice avalanches is linked to the impact of glacier retreat(reduction in ice material supply)and increased activity under climate *** glacier movement velocity controls the size of iceesnow avalanches and can be set as an indicator for iceesnow avalanche *** the Annapurna Ⅱ glacier,an iceesnow avalanche occurred when the glacier velocities were greater than 1.5 m d^(-1).These results offer insights into iceesnow avalanche risk assessment and prediction in high-mountain areas,particularly in regions characterised by dense glacier distribution.

Unlocking the Potential of Poly(butylene succinate)through Incorporation of Vitrimeric Network Based on Dynamic Imine Bonds

Poly(butylene succinate)(PBS)exhibits many advantages,such as renewability,biodegradability,and impressive thermal and mechanical properties,but is limited by the low melt viscosity and strength resulted from the linear *** address this,vitrimeric network was introduced to synthesize PBS vitrimers(PBSVs)based on dynamic imine bonds through melt polymerization of hydroxyl-terminated PBS with vanillin derived imine containing compound and hexamethylene diisocyanate using trimethylolpropane as a crosslinking *** with different crosslinking degrees were synthesized through changing the content of the crosslinking *** effect of crosslinking degree on the thermal,theological,mechanical properties,and stress relaxation behavior of the PBSVs was studied in *** results demonstrated that the melt viscosity,melt strength,and heat resistance were enhanced substantially without obvious depression in crystallizability,thermal stability,and mechanical properties through increasing crosslinking *** addition,the PBSVs exhibit thermal reprocessability with mechanical properties recovered by more than 90%even after processing for three ***,PBSV with improved melt properties shows significantly improved foamability compared to commercial *** research contributes to the advancement of polymer technology by successfully developing PBS vitrimers with improved properties,showcasing their potential applications in sustainable and biodegradable materials.

Amorphous high-entropy phosphoxides for efficient overall alkaline water/seawater splitting

Designing and synthesizing cost-effective bifunctional catalysts for overall alkaline water/seawater splitting is still a huge challenge for hydrogen ***,Co/Ni/Fe/Mn based-amorphous high-entropy phosphoxide self-standing electrode(CNFMPO)is synthesized by the facile and fast electrodeposition *** exhibits excellent bifunctional electrocatalytic performances on alkaline water/seawater *** hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)overpotentials of CNFMPO in alkaline water/seawater are as low as 43/73 and 252/282 mV to reach a current density of 10 mA cm^(-2),***,two-electrode electrolyzers with CNFMPO||CNFMPO successfully achieve the current density of 10 mA cm^(-2) at low voltages of 1.54 and 1.56 V for overall alkaline water/seawater splitting,*** exhibits satisfactory long-term stability on overall alkaline water/seawater splitting for the surface reconstruction into active metal hydroxide/(oxy)hydroxide,phosphite,and ***,no hypochlorite is detected during seawater electrolysis for the beneficial chlorite oxidation inhibition of the reconstructed phosphite and *** excellent catalytic performances of CNFMPO are due to the unique amorphous structure,multi-component synergistic effect,beneficial electronic structure modulation,and surface reconstruction during the catalytic reaction ***,CNFMPO has shown potential promotion to the development of the water/seawater splitting industry as a promising substituent for noble-metal *** work provides new insights into the design of efficient bifunctional catalysts for overall water/seawater splitting.

Monascus purpureus M-32 fermented soybean meal improves the growth, immunity parameters, intestinal morphology, disease resistance, intestinal microbiota and metabolome in Pacific white shrimp(Litopenaeus vannamei)

This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of Monascus purpureus M-32 fermented soybean meal（MFSM） on growth, immunity, intestinal morphology, intestinal microbiota, and intestinal metabolome of Pacific white shrimp（Litopenaeus vannamei）. Four groups of diets were formulated, including control group（30% fish meal and 30% soybean meal [SBM] included in the basal diet） and three experimental groups which MFSM replaced 20%（MFSM20）, 40%（MFSM40）, and 60%（MFSM60） of SBM in control group, respectively. Results showed that the soluble proteins larger than 49 k Da in MFSM were almost completely degraded. Meanwhile, the crude protein, acid-soluble protein, and amino acid in MFSM were increased. The results of shrimp culture experiment showed that the replacement of SBM with MFSM decreased FCR（P < 0.001） and content of malondialdehyde（P = 0.007） in the experimental groups, and increased weight gain rate（P = 0.006）, specific growth rate（P = 0.002）, survival rate（P = 0.005）, intestinal villus height（P < 0.001）, myenteric thickness（P = 0.002）, the activities of superoxide dismutase（P = 0.002）, and lysozyme（P = 0.006） in experimental groups, as well as increased content of calcium(Ca2+) and phosphorus（■） in blood and muscle, and enhanced resistance to Vibrio parahaemolyticus infection. The gut microbiota of MFSM groups was significantly different from that of the control group,and the abundance of Actinobacteria and Verrucomicrobia increased significantly in the MFSM60 group,whereas Proteobacteria and Firmicutes decreased. Compared with the control group, there were significant changes in the levels of several intestinal metabolites in the MFSM60 group, including leukotriene C5, prostaglandin A1, taurochenodeoxycholic acid, carnosine, and itaconic acid. Highly dispersed MgInCe-mixed metal oxides catalyzed direct carbonylation of glycerol and CO_(2)into glycerol carbonate

Glycerol carbonate,an important glycerol value-added product,has been widely used as an active intermediate and inert solvent in the synthesis of cosmetics,detergents,chemical intermediates,polymers,and so *** direct carbonylation from glycerol with CO_(2)is considered a promising route,but still tough work due to the thermodynamic stability and the kinetic inertness of CO_(2).In this work,highlyselective direct carbonylation of glycerol and CO_(2)into glycerol carbonate has been achieved over highly dispersed MgInCe-mixed metal oxides(MgInCe-MMO),which were prepared through the topological transformation derived from the MgInCe-layered double hydroxides(MgInCe-LDHs).By precisely modulating the surface basic-acidic properties and the oxygen vacancies,an efficient carbonylation of glycerol with CO_(2)has been achieved with a selectivity of up to>99%to glycerol *** investigation into the synergistic catalysis of base-acid sites and oxygen vacancies has been clarified.

Sensory conflict impacts postural control,yet its effect on cortico-muscular interaction remains *** aimed to investigate sensory conflict's influence on the cortico-muscular network and postural *** used a rotating platform and virtual reality to present subjects with congruent and incongruent sensory input,recorded EEG(electroencephalogram)and EMG(electromyogram)data,and constructed a directed connectivity *** results suggest that,compared to sensory congruence,during sensory conflict:(1)connectivity among the sensorimotor,visual,and posterior parietal cortex generally decreases,(2)cortical control over the muscles is weakened,(3)feedback from muscles to the cortex is strengthened,and(4)the range of body sway increases and its complexity *** results underline the intricate effects of sensory conflict on cortico-muscular *** the sensory conflict,the brain adaptively decreases the integration of conflicting *** this integrated information,cortical control over muscles may be lessened,whereas the muscle feedback may be enhanced in compensation.
