Identification and expression patterns of alcohol dehydrogenase genes involving in ester volatile biosynthesis in pear fruit

Alcohol dehydrogenase （ADH） catalyzes the interconversion of aldehydes and their corresponding alcohols, and is a key enzyme in volatile ester biosynthesis. However, little is known regarding ADH and ADH encoding genes （ADHs） in pear. We identified 8 ADHs in the pear＇s genome （PbrADHs） by multiple sequences alignment. The PbrADHs were highly ho- mologous in their coding regions, while were diversiform in structure. 9 introns were predicted in PbrADH3-PbrADH8, while 8 introns, generated through exon fusion and intron loss, were predicted in PbrADH1 and PbrADH2. To study the genetic regulation underlying aroma biogenesis in pear fruit, we determined the PbrADH transcripts, ADH activities and volatile contents of fruits during ripening stage for Nanguoli and Dangshansuli, two cultivars having different aroma characteristics. ADH activity was strongly associated with the transcription of ADH~ in the two cultivars during fruit ripening stage. The higher ester content paralleling to a higher ADH activity was detected in Nanguoli than in Dangshansuli, so it is induced that the lower ester content in Dangshansuli fruit may be the result of weak ADH activity. The present study revealed that total ADH activity and volatile ester production correlated with increased PbrADHstranscript levels. PbrADH6 may contribute to ADH activity catalyzing aldehyde reduction and ester formation in pear fruit.

Nonreciprocal Head-on Collision Between Two Nonlinear Solitary Waves in Granular Metamaterials with an Interface

In this work,the head-on collision and transmission with nonreciprocal properties of opposite propagating solitary waves are studied,in which the interface between different granular chains is *** to the discontinuity of two periodic granular systems,the transmitted and reflected solitary waves are *** head-on collision appears at the interface and the reductive perturbation method is applied to derive the generated solitary *** to the derivation and numerical simulation,we can find that the transmitted and reflected solitary waves can propagate with the same speed when they locate at the same ***,the influences of both the arrangement and prestress are *** is found that the amplitude and velocity of solitary waves become larger because of a bigger prestress,which result in the nonreciprocal collision and transmission in the granular mechanical *** study is expected to be helpful for the design and application of elastic wave metamaterials and mechanical diodes with nonlinear solitary waves.

Tuning sodium wettability and pore tortuosity for superior sodium storage

Abundant FeS2 with high theoretical capacity is one of the promising anode candidates in sodium-ion batteries(SlBs),however,the uneven sodium deposition due to the poor interface compatibility and sluggish reaction kinetics because of the high activation barrier still plague its practical ***,we synthesized the ordered porous carbon matrix wrapped FeS2 nanoparticles(FeS_2@OCN)with high sodium wettability and low pore tortuosity to economically enhance the interface compatibility as well as to lower the energy barrier in *** synergistic effects of low tortuosity pores and strong sodium wettability homogenize the Na+flux distribution,bring the electron dislocation via the enrichment of edgenitrogen(Pyridinic N and Pyrrolic N),thus achieving the dendrite-free sodium deposition and dramatically enhanced reaction *** from exceptional structural/compositional/electronic merits,the resultant anode is endowed with exceptional structure stability,achieving long-term cycling stability of 451.9 mAh·g^(-1)after 1000cycles at 1 A·g^(-1)with specific capacity retention of 92.9%.Attenuated electrode tortuosity and high sodium wettability can corporately improve the interface compatibility and attenuate the activation barrier of the FeS_2 host and beyond.

The fractional calculus is used in the constitutive relationship model of viscoelastic fluid. A generalized Maxwell model with fractional calculus is considered. Based on the flow conditions described, two flow cases are solved and the exact solutions are obtained by using the Weber transform and the Laplace transform for fractional calculus.

Combined Cellular Automaton Model for Dynamic Recrystallization Evolution of 42CrMo Cast Steel

The dynamic recrystallization(DRX) simulation performance largely depends on simulated grain topological struc?tures. However, currently solutions used di erent models for describing two?dimensional(2 D) and three?dimensional(3 D) grain size distributions. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a more universal simulation technique. A cellular automaton(CA) model combined with an optimized topology deformation technology is proposed to simulate the microstructural evolution of 42 CrMo cast steel during DRX. In order to obtain values of material constants adopted in the CA model, hot deformation characteristics of 42 CrMo cast steel are investigated by hot compression metal?lographic testing. The proposed CA model deviates in two important aspects from the regular CA model. First, an optimized grain topology deformation technology is utilized for studying the hot compression e ect on the topology of grain deformation. Second, the overlapping grain topological structures are optimized by using an independent component analysis method, and the influence of various thermomechanical parameters on the nucleation process, grain growth kinetics, and mean grain sizes observed during DRX are explored. Experimental study shows that the average relative root mean square error(RRMSE) of the mean grain diameter obtained by the regular CA model is equal to 0.173, while the magnitude calculated using the proposed optimized CA model is only 0.11. This paper pro?poses a novel combined CA model for simulating the microstructural evolution of 42 CrMo cast steel, which notably uses a ICA?based grain topology deformation method to optimize the overlapping grain topological structures in simulation.

Conductive phthalocyanine-based metal-organic framework as a highly efficient electrocatalyst for carbon dioxide reduction reaction

Porous crystalline metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)are one class of promising electrode materials for CO_(2)electroreduction reaction(CO_(2)RR)by virtue of their large CO_(2)adsorption capacities and abundant tunable active sites,but their insulating nature usually leads to low current ***,a two-dimensional(2D)Ni-phthalocyanine-based MOF(NiPc-Ni(NH)4)constructed by 2,3,9,10,16,17,23,24-octaaminophthalocyaninato nickel(II)(NiPc-(NH_(2))_(8))and nickel(II)ions attained high electrical conductivity due to the high overlap of d-πconjugation orbitals between the nickel node and the Ni-phthalocyanine-substituted *** CO_(2)RR,the NiPc-Ni(NH)4 nanosheets achieved a high CO Faradaic efficiency of 96.4%at−0.7 V and a large CO partial current density of 24.8 mA cm^(−2)at−1.1 V,which surpassed all the reported two-dimensional MOF electrocatalysts evaluated in an *** control experiments and density functional theory(DFT)calculations suggested that the Ni-N_(4)units of the phthalocyanine ring are the catalytic active *** work provides a new route to the design of highly efficient porous framework materials for the enhanced electrocatalysis via improving electrical conductivity.

A medium-entropy high-speed steel(ME-HSS)coating with the 76 at.%of Fe and multiple alloying elements was prepared by the wide-band laser *** with the commercial W6 Mo5 Cr4 V2(M2)HSS coating which contains a large number of network lamellar M2 C-type carbides along the grain boundaries,the presented ME-HSS coating has a high quantity of fi ner and more uniformly dispersed M C-type carbides;on the other hand,the coating has less retained austenite and much lower brittleness as well as similar secondary hardening eff ect and tempering hardness.

As one of the most ecologically sensitive issues in the world,migration now plays an important role in population growth on the qinghai-Tibet *** promote sustainable development in the world’s third pole,it is necessary to investigate population migration on the *** 2010 census data,a spatial database of county-level migrants on the Plateau was constructed,and migrants were divided into short-distance and long-distance migrants according to the hukou-registered *** migration intensity allowed the spatial pattern of population migration on the Plateau to be *** driving factors were identified using spatial regression models,and the main conclusions are as follows:(1)In 2010,there were 1.23 million inter-county migrants on the qinghai-Tibet Plateau,and the overall migration intensity reached 10.50%.There existed significant spatial differences in population migration intensity on the Plateau at that time,and the provincial or prefectural capitals were attractive destinations for *** qinghai,which boasted mining industries,constituted a significant spatial cluster with a relatively high migration ***,most areas on the Plateau attracted relatively few migrants,especially in western and northern parts of Tibet,which were sparsely populated and uninhabitable.(2)There were 0.95 million short-distance migrants and 0.28 million long-distance *** short-distance migration intensity was 8.14%,while the long-distance migration intensity was only 2.36%.Short-distance migration was the main form of population migration,with a pattern similar to the layout of overall population migration *** a few county-level units strongly attracted long-distance migrants,which were mostly distributed in northwestern qinghai.(3)Economic factors were considered fundamental drivers for migrants to live on the *** with high levels of economic development and more opportunities in non-agric

Approximations for a Queueing Game Model with Join-the-Shortest-Queue Strategy

This paper investigates a partially observable queueing system with N nodes in which each node has a dedicated arrival *** is an extra arrival stream to balance the load of the system by routing its customers to the shortest *** addition,a reward-cost structure is considered to analyse customers'strategic *** equilibrium and socially optimal strategies are derived for the partially observable mean field limit ***,we show that the strategies obtained from the mean field model are good approximations to the model with finite N ***,numerical experiments are provided to compare the equilibrium and socially optimal behaviours,including joining probabilities and social benefits for different system parameters.
