Congenital chloride diarrhea(CCD;OMIM 214700)is an intestinal disease of an electrolyte defect characterized by dilated bowel loops,maternal polyhydramnios,premature birth,and lack of infant meconium[l].The incidence of CCD is variable worldwide.Most cases are sporadic;however,there are three high-incidence areas,Finland,Poland,and Saudi Arabia.In addition,large genetic heterogeneity has been reported in about 300 sporadic patients with CCD from other ethnic groups[2-4].Undiagnosed or untreated CCD can be lethal within the first year of life,but with adequate treatment,patients are usually able to survive into adulthood[5,6].

Introduction:Granuloma annulare(GA)is a benign,noninfectious granulomatous disorder of unknown etiology,characterized by an annular arrangement of erythematous small nodules and plaques,classically localized on dorsal surfaces of the hands and feet.GA shows palisading granulomas with a central zone of necrobiotic collagen and mucin deposition surrounded by a palisade of histiocytes.Here,we reported a 24-year-old man with GA combined with tuberculosis and cutis laxa.Case presentation:A 24-year-old man was presented with skin annular lesions on the trunk and extremities without subjective symptoms for three years.The annular lesions first arose in the trunk that slowly progressed to most parts of the body and cutis laxa-like lesions appeared on the left inguinal region with inguinal hernia two years ago.At the same time,the patient was diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis due to the hemoptysis for two years and the sputum culture for tuberculosis bacillus was positive.He was treated with triple anti-tuberculosis drugs regularly.Partial remission of the skin lesions was noted since then.Pathological examination showed similar histological changes in the interstitial pattern of GA.Discussion:Tuberculosis was a possible etiologic factor in GA because of the coincidental occurrence,granulomatous histologic features,and positive tuberculin skin tests.In fact,some cases of GA with chronic pulmonary tuberculosis responding to a specific anti-tuberculosis therapy were reported.It is worth noting that tuberculids,generalized exanthems in the skin of tuberculous patients possibly resulting from hypersensitivity reactions to the tubercle bacillus,may mimic GA.Furthermore,our patient also showed extremely characteristic slack skin in posterior lumbar and groin,which was deemed to be related to reduction and destruction of elastic fibers.Conclusion:Generalized interstitial GA with tuberculosis and cutis laxa is vary rare,which is worth being aware of the possibility of such a occurrence.

The perfect matching polytope of a graph G is the convex hull of the incidence vectors of all perfect matchings of G.A graph G is PM-compact if the 1-skeleton graph of the prefect matching polytope of G is complete.Equivalently,a matchable graph G is PM-compact if and only if for each even cycle C of G,G-V(C)has at most one perfect matching.This paper considers the class of graphs from which deleting any two adjacent vertices or nonadjacent vertices,respectively,the resulting graph has a unique perfect matching.The PM-compact graphs in this class of graphs are presented.

By employing a new semi-rigid pyrazole-amide-derived bis(pyridyl)ligand[N,N'-bis(4-picolylamine)-1-hydropyrazole(4-dpap)],a new homopolymolybdate-based two-dimensional(2D)plate-like complex[Co(4-dpap)(H_(2)O)(β-Mo_(8)O_(2)6)1/2](1)has been prepared under solvothermal condition and structurally characterized.Theβ-Mo_(8)anions are fi xed between the 2D metal–organic networks[Co(4-dpap)(H_(2)O)]n 2n+via hydrogen-bonding interaction.Complex 1 possesses satisfactory specifi c capacitance of 1512.4 F·g^(−1)(current density:1 A·g^(−1))and good cycling stability(90.8%after 1000 cycles).Moreover,1 represents a promising amperometric sensor for measurement of Cr(Ⅵ)with low detection limit(0.042μmol·L^(−1))and high durability.The insertion ofβ-Mo_(8)anions between the unique 2D metal−organic networks improves the active area of polyoxometalates,which further promotes electrochemical performance.

Objective Evidence from prospective studies on the consumption of tea and risk of gout is conflicting and limited.We aimed to investigate the potential causal effects of tea intake on gout using Mendelian randomization(MR).Methods Genome-wide association studies in UK Biobank included 349376 individuals and successfully discovered single-nucleotide polymorphisms linked to consumption of one cup of tea per day.Summary statistics from the Chronic Kidney Disease Genetics consortium included 13179 cases and 750634 controls for gout.Two-sample MR analyses were used to evaluate the relationship between tea consumption and gout risk.The inverse-variance weighted(IVW)method was used for primary analysis,and sensitivity analyses were also conducted to validate the potential causal effect.Results In this study,the genetically predicted increase in tea consumption per cup was associated with a lower risk of gout in the IVW method(OR:0.90;95%CI:0.82–0.98).Similar results were found in weighted median methods(OR:0.88;95%CI:0.78–1.00),while no significant associations were found in MR-Egger(OR:0.89;95%CI:0.71–1.11),weighted mode(OR:0.80;95%CI:0.65–0.99),and simple mode(OR:1.01;95%CI:0.75–1.36).In addition,no evidence of pleiotropy was detected by MR-Egger regression(P=0.95)or MR-PRESSO analysis(P=0.07).Conclusion This study provides evidence for the daily consumption of an extra cup of tea to reduce the risk of gout.

Previous studies have suggested that miR-324-3p is related to the pathophysiology of cerebral ischemia,but the mechanism underlying this relationship is unclea r.In this study,we found that miR-324-3p expression was decreased in patients with acute ischemic stroke and in in vitro and in vivo models of ischemic stro ke.miR-324-3p agomir potentiated ischemic brain damage in rats subjected to middle cerebral artery occlusion,as indicated by increased infarct volumes and cell apoptosis rates and greater neurological deficits.In a PC12 cell oxygen-glucose deprivation/reoxygenation model,a miR-324-3 p mimic decreased cell viability and expression of the anti-apoptotic protein BCL2 and increased expression of the pro-apoptotic protein BAX and rates of cell apoptosis,whereas treatment with a miR-324-3p inhibitor had the opposite effects.Silencing miR-324-3p increased adenosine A1 receptor(A1R)expression thro ugh regulation of GATA binding protein 2(GATA2).These findings suggest that silencing miR-324-3p reduces ischemic brain damage via the GATA2/A1R axis.

The World Health Organization emphasized the importance of goggles and face shields for protection of medical personnel at the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.Unsurprisingly,almost all countries suffered from a critical supply shortage of goggles and face shields,as well as many other types of personal protective equipment(PPE),for a long period,owing to the lack of key medical material supplies and the inefficiency of existing fabrication methods arising from the need to avoid crowds during the outbreak of COVID-19.In this paper,we propose a novel combined shield design for eye and face protection that can be rapidly fabricated using three-dimensional printing technology.The designed prototype eye-face shield is accessible to the general public,offering more possibilities for yield improvement in PPE during emergent infectious disease events such as COVID-19.

Introduction:The efficacy of treatment and clinical outcomes may be jeopardized by factors such as transmitted drug resistance(TDR)and the genetic diversity of the human immunodeficiency virus type 1(HIV-1).This comprehensive study aims to examine the alterations in HIV-1 subtypes or sub-subtypes and TDR among Chinese individuals,who have been diagnosed with HIV infection and are previously untreated with antiretroviral therapy(ART),across the span of 2004 to 2022.Methods:Sequences of the HIV-1 pol gene region were obtained from ART-naïve HIV-positive individuals across 31 provincial-level administrative divisions between 2004 and 2022.To predict susceptibility to 12 antiretroviral drugs,the research utilized the Stanford HIV Drug Resistance Database.The Cochran-Armitage trend test facilitated the analysis of changes in HIV-1 subtype/sub-subtype prevalence and TDR.This analysis was conducted in alignment with the progression of the National Free Antiretroviral Treatment Program’s stages between 2004 and 2022.Results:Among the 57,902 ART-naïve individuals infected with HIV,there was a notable decline in the prevalence of CRF01_AE,B,and C from 37.3%,24.1%,and 1.3%respectively in 2004–2007 to 29.4%,7.3%,and 0.2%respectively in 2020–2022.Simultaneously,a significant increase was observed in the proportions of CRF07_BC,CRF08_BC,CRF55_01B,other CRFs,and URFs,from 24.1%,11.5%,0.1%,0.4%,and 0.9%respectively in 2004–2007 to 40.8%,11.5%,3.8%,3.7%,and 2.8%respectively in 2020–2022(all P<0.001 for trend).The prevalence of TDR to overall,non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor(NNRTI),efavirenz,and nevirapine also significantly increased from 2.6%,1.8%,1.6%,and 1.8%respectively in 2004–2007 to 7.8%,6.7%,6.3%,and 6.7%respectively in 2020–2022(all P<0.001 for trend).However,there were no meaningful changes in the TDR prevalence of nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor and protease inhibitor.Notably,in 2020–2022,the overall TDR prevalence exceeded 15%in Xinjiang.Conclusions:The total prevalence of TDR in China has ach
