Clinical characteristics and in-hospital outcomes of patients receiving contemporary intensive cardiac care:retrospective study from a large centre in China

In recent years,the attractive concept of smart life has undoub-tedly provided opportunities for the development of micro-supercapacitors(MSCs).Among the current energy-storage devices used in integrated microelectronics applications,despite micro-batte-ries endow a stable current supply or deliver a high peak current,micro-supercapacitors(MSCs)still hold several intrinsic advantages such as superior power densities,longer operating lifetime(>100000 cycles),faster charge/discharge rates,wide working temperature range as well as desirable safety properties[1-3].Because of the limited area available for integrating components into small scale systems,areal performance properties(capacity,power and energy per footprint area)are more significant indicators than volumetric or gravimetric performance.

In this paper, we present an ultrafast digitizer utilizing the DRS4 switched capacitor array applicationspecific integrated circuit to achieve an ultrafast sampling speed of at most 5 GS/s. We cascaded all eight channels(sub-channels) of a single DRS4 chip for increased storage depth. The digitizer contains four DRS4 chips, a quadchannel analog-to-digital converter,a controlling fieldprogrammable gate array, a PXI interface, and an SFP+connector. Consequently, each DRS4 channel has a depth of 8192 points and a vertical resolution of 14 bits. The readout sequences should be broken into several segments and then reordered to obtain the correct sequential data sets, and this offline procedure varies in different readout modes. This paper describes the design and implementation of the hardware;in particular, the respective processing procedures are described in detail. Furthermore, the offset error is calibrated and corrected to improve the precision of the captured waveform in both single-channel and highresolution modes.

A set of laboratory experiments are carried out to investigate the effect of following/opposing currents on wave *** vegetation canopies with aligned and staggered configurations were tested under the condition of various regular wave heights and current velocities,with the constant water depth being 0.60 m to create the desired submerged *** show that the vegetation-induced wave dissipation is enhanced with the increasing incident wave height.A larger velocity magnititude leads to a greater wave height attenuation for both following and opposing current ***,there is a strong positive linear correlation between the damping coefficientβand the relative wave height H_(0)/h,especially for pure wave *** the velocity profile,the distributions of U_(min)and U_(max)show different patterns under combined wave and *** time-averaged turbulent kinetic energy(TKE)vary little under pure wave and U_(c)=±0.05 m/s *** the increase of flow velocity amplitude,the time-averaged TKE shows a particularly pronounced increase trend at the top of the *** vegetation drag coefficients are obtained by a calibration *** empirical relations of drag coefficient with Reynolds and Keulegane-Carpenter numbers are proposed to further understand the wave-current-vegetation interaction mechanism.

As requested by many participants, I would like to share with you the opening remark, which I made at the Third Asia-Pacific Forum on Andrology, in conjunction with the Celebration of the Tenth Anniversary of Asian Journal of Andrology, Nanjing, China, October 10, 2009. In my opening remark, I raised three questions about the development of Andrology, as well as highlighted three major trends of current progress of life science, which might be of great help in setting up our strategy for Andrology development in the coming years.

As prospective energy storage devices,zinc-ion hybrid capacitors(ZHCs)still suffer from unsatisfactory cathode ***,the three dimensional(3D)N,B dual-doped carbon quantum dots/reduced graphene oxide(N,B-CQDs/rGO)composite aerogel is prepared via a onepot hydrothermal *** to the synergism of CQDs modification and N,B dual-doping,the resultant N,B-CQDs/rGO composite aerogel delivers superior electrochemical ***,the as-obtained N,B-CQDs/rGO composite aerogel is served as a cathode for aqueous and flexible quasi-solid-state ZHCs for the first ***,the aqueous N,B-CQDs/rGO//Zn ZHC manifests a large energy density of 96.2 Wh·kg^(-1)at80 W·kg^(-1)and still remains a high energy density of 54.7Wh·kg^(-1)at a superb power density of 80 kW·kg^(-1).Meanwhile,kinetic analyses are employed to elucidate the prominent power performance,and various ex situ tests are undertaken to explore the energy storage mechanism of aqueous *** notably,the flexible quasi-solid-state N,B-CQDs/rGO//Zn ZHC displays a desirable energy density(89.1μWh·cm^(-2)),a superior power density(96,000μW·cm^(-2))and exceptional flexible *** present study offers a valuable reference for designing and developing advanced cathode materials for aqueous and flexible quasi-solid-state ZHCs.

It has been 10 years since we published the first report describing use of the ShangRing for circumcision in boys and men. That report, by Peng et al.{ from China, showed that the device was safe and that ShangRing circumcision was quicker than with conventional surgical techniques commonly used. The ShangRing, pictured in Figure 1, isa novel collar clamp circumcision device that was invented by Mu Jian-Zhong Shang in China in the early 2000s to reduce potential surgical complications following male circumcision. Based on its successful use in 2006, Mr. Shang started SNNDA Medical Company to produce and distribute the ShangRing. The device has two parts consisting of an inner ring and an outer ring. The foreskin is sandwiched between the two rings, ensuring hemostasis without the need for suturing, which greatly simplifies the circumcision. The device is typically removed by a clinician 7-10 days later.
