Diabetic foot ulcers（DFUs） are a serious vascular disease. Currently, no effective methods are available for treating DFUs. Pro-protein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9（PCSK9） regulates lipid levels to promote atherosclerosis. However, the role of PCSK9 in DFUs remains unclear. In this study, we found that the expression of PCSK9 in endothelial cells（ECs） increased significantly under high glucose（HG）stimulation and in diabetic plasma and vessels. Specifically, PCSK9 promotes the E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase NEDD4 binding to vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2（VEGFR2）, which led to the ubiquitination of VEGFR2, resulting in its degradation and downregulation in ECs. Furthermore, PCSK9 suppresses the expression and activation of AKT, endothelial nitric oxide synthase（eNOS）, and ERK1/2, leading to decreased nitric oxide（NO） production and increased superoxide anion(O2·-) generation, which impairs vascular endothelial function and angiogenesis. Importantly, using evolocumab to limit the increase in PCSK9 expression blocked the HG-induced inhibition of NO production and the increase in O2·-production, as well as inhibited the phosphorylation and expression of AKT, eNOS, and ERK1/***, evolocumab improved vascular endothelial function and angiogenesis, and promoted wound healing in diabetes. Our findings suggest that targeting PCSK9 is a novel therapeutic approach for treating DFUs.

DiscoStyle:Multi-level Logistic Ranking for Personalized Image Style Preference Inference

Learning based on facial features for detection and recognition of people′s identities,emotions and image aesthetics has been widely explored in computer vision and ***,automatic discovery of users′preferences to certain of faces(i.e.,style),to the best of our knowledge,has never been studied,due to the subjective,implicative,and uncertain characteristic of psychological ***,in this paper,we contribute to an answer to whether users′psychological preference can be modeled and computed after observing several *** this end,we first propose an efficient approach for discovering the personality preference related facial features from only a very few anchors selected by each user,and make accurate predictions and recommendations for ***,we propose to discover the style of faces(DiscoStyle)for human′s psychological preference inference towards personalized face recommendation system/*** are four merits of our DiscoStyle:1)Transfer learning is exploited from identity related facial feature representation to personality preference related facial feature.2)Appearance and geometric landmark feature are exploited for preference related feature augmentation.3)A multi-level logistic ranking model with on-line negative sample selection is proposed for on-line modeling and score prediction,which reflects the users′preference degree to gallery faces.4)A large dataset with different facial styles for human′s psychological preference inference is developed for the first *** show that our proposed DiscoStyle can well achieve users′preference reasoning and recommendation of preferred facial styles in different genders and races.

Flame Morphology and Characteristic of Co-Firing Ammonia with Pulverized Coal on a Flat Flame Burner

Ammonia as a new green carbon free fuel co-combustion with coal can effectively reduce CO_(2)emission,but the research of flame morphology and characteristics of ammonia-coal co-combustion are not *** this work,we studied the co-combustion flame of NH_(3)and pulverized coal on flat flame burner under different oxygen mole fraction(X_(i,O_(2)))and NH_(3)co-firing energy ratios(E_(NH_(3))).We initially observed that the introduction of ammonia resulted in stratification within the ammonia-coal co-combustion flame,featuring a transparent flame at the root identified as the ammonia combustion *** to challenges in visually observing the ignition of coal particles in the ammonia-coal co-combustion flame,we utilized Matlab software to analyze flame images across varying E_(NH_(3))and X_(i,O_(2)).The analysis indicates that,compared to pure coal combustion,the addition of ammonia advances the ignition delay time by 4.21 ms to 5.94 *** E_(NH_(3))increases,the ignition delay time initially decreases and then ***,an increase in X_(i,O_(2))results in an earlier ignition delay *** burn-off time and the flame divergence angle of pulverized coal demonstrated linear decreases and increases,respectively,with the growing ammonia *** addition of ammonia facilitates the release of volatile matter from coal ***,in high-ammonia environments,oxygen consumption also impedes the surface reaction of coal ***,measurements of gas composition in the ammonia-coal flame flow field unveiled that the generated water-rich atmosphere intensified coal particle gasification,resulting in an elevated concentration of ***,nitrogen-containing substances and coke produced during coal particle gasification underwent reduction reactions with NO_(x),leading to reduced NO_(x)emissions.

Highly efficient and stable iron electrodes are of great significant to the development of iron-air battery(IAB).In this paper,iron nanoparticle-encapsulated C–N composite(NanoFe@CN)was synthesized by pyrolysis using polyaniline as the C–N *** performance of the NanoFe@CN in different electrolytes(alkaline,neutral,and quasi-neutral)was investigated via cyclic voltammetry(CV).The IAB was assembled with NanoFe@CN as the anode and IrO_(2)+Pt/C as the *** effects of different discharging/charging current densities and electrolytes on the battery performance were also *** K_(2)SO_(4)electrolyte can effectively suppress the passivation of iron electrode,and the battery showed a good cycling stability during 180 charging/discharging *** to the pure nano-iron(NanoFe)battery,the NanoFe@CN battery has a more stable cycling stability either in KOH or NH_(4)Cl+KCl electrolyte.

Removal of Cr(Ⅵ)by glutaraldehyde-crosslinked chitosan encapsulating microscale zero-valent iron:Synthesis,mechanism,and longevity

Microscale zero-valent iron(mZVI)has shown great potential for groundwater Cr(Ⅵ)***,low Cr(Ⅵ)removal capacity caused by passivation restricted the wide use of *** prepared mZVI/GCS by encapsulating mZVI in a porous glutaraldehydecrosslinked chitosan matrix,and the formation of the passivation layer was alleviated by reducing the contact between zero-valent iron *** average pore diameter of mZVI/GCS was 8.775 nm,which confirmed the mesoporous characteristic of this *** of batch experiments demonstrated that mZVI/GCS exhibited high Cr(Ⅵ)removal efficiency in a wide range of pH(2-10)and temperature(5-35℃).Common groundwater coexisting ions slightly affected m ZVI/*** material showed great reusability,and the average Cr(Ⅵ)removal efficiency was 90.41%during eight *** this study,we also conducted kinetics and isotherms ***-second-order model was the most matched kinetics *** Cr(Ⅵ)adsorption process was fitted by both Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms models,and the maximum Langmuir adsorption capacity of m ZVI/GCS reached243.63 mg/g,which is higher than the adsorption capacities of materials reported in most of the previous ***,the column capacity for Cr(Ⅵ)removal of a mZVI/GCS-packed column was 6.4 times higher than that of a mZVI-packed column in a 50-day ***,mZVI/GCS with a porous structure effectively relieved passivation problems of mZVI and showed practical application prospects as groundwater Cr(Ⅵ)remediation material with practical application prospects.

In order to analyze the influence of the addition of yttrium and manganese on the soot combustion performance and high temperature stability of CeO_(2) catalyst,a series of Y/Mn-modified CeO_(2) catalysts were *** effects of structural properties,textural properties,oxygen vacancies,Ce^(3+),surface adsorbed oxygen species,reduction properties and desorption properties of oxygen species on the activity were analyzed by various characterization *** results of the activity test show that the addition of manganese is beneficial to enhancement of the activity,while the addition of yttrium increases the amount of reactive oxygen species,but decreases the *** aging at 700℃,the activity of the CeMn catalyst decreases most sharply,while the catalytic activity of the CeY catalyst can be maintained to a certain ***,the addition of yttrium and manganese at the same time can stabilize the *** fundamental reason is that yttrium and manganese move to the surface of the solid solution after aging,which increases the reduction performance of the catalyst,thus contributing to the increase of *** the activity of CeYMn catalyst decreases after aging at 800℃,it is still higher than that of other catalysts aged at 700℃.

A stable staggered-grid finite-difference scheme for acoustic modeling beyond conventional stability limit

Staggered-grid finite-difference(SGFD)schemes have been widely used in acoustic wave modeling for geophysical *** improved methods are proposed to enhance the accuracy of numerical ***,these methods are inevitably limited by the maximum Courant-Friedrichs-Lewy(CFL)numbers,making them unstable when modeling with large time sampling intervals or small grid *** solve this problem,we extend a stable SGFD scheme by controlling SGFD dispersion relations and maximizing the maximum CFL ***,to improve modeling stability,we minimize the error between the FD dispersion relation and the exact relation in the given wave-number region,and make the FD dispersion approach a given function outside the given wave-number area,thus breaking the conventional limits of the maximum CFL ***,to obtain high modeling accuracy,we use the SGFD scheme based on the Remez algorithm to compute the FD *** addition,the hybrid absorbing boundary condition is adopted to suppress boundary reflections and we find a suitable weighting coefficient for the proposed *** derivation and numerical modeling demonstrate that the proposed scheme can maintain high accuracy in the modeling process and the value of the maximum CFL number of the proposed scheme can exceed that of the conventional SGFD scheme when adopting a small maximum effective wavenumber,indicating that the proposed scheme improves stability during the modeling.

Haploinsufficiency of Lipin3 leads to hypertriglyceridemia and obesity by disrupting the expression and nucleocytoplasmic localization of Lipin1

Lipin proteins including Lipin 1–3 act as transcriptional co-activators and phosphatidic acid phosphohydrolase enzymes,which play crucial roles in lipid ***,little is known about the function of Lipin3 in triglyceride(TG)***,we identified a novel mutation(NM_001301860:p.1835A>T/p.D612V)of Lipin3 in a large family with hypertriglyceridemia(HTG)and obesity through whole-exome sequencing and Sanger *** studies revealed that the novel variant altered the half-life and stability of the Lipin3 ***,we generated Lipin3 heterozygous knockout(Lipin3-heKO)mice and cultured primary hepatocytes to explore the pathophysiological roles of Lipin3 in TG *** found that Lipin3-heKO mice exhibited obvious obesity,HTG,and non-alcoholic fatty liver *** study demonstrated that the haploinsufficiency of Lipin3 in primary hepatocytes may induce the overexpression and abnormal distribution of Lipin1 in cytosol and *** increased expression of Lipin1 in cytosol may contribute to TG anabolism,and the decreased Lipin1 in nucleoplasm can reduce PGC1α,further leading to mitochondrial dysfunction and reduced TG *** study suggested that Lipin3 was a novel disease-causing gene inducing obesity and *** also established a relationship between Lipin3 and mitochondrial dysfunction.
