The cGAS–STING pathway is pivotal for sensing cytosolic DNA[2].cGAS,a cytoplasmic DNA sensor,can be stimulated by DNA,and it consumes ATP and GTP to synthesize a second messenger,2'3'-cGAMP,which binds to STING,resulting in STING conformational change,oligomerization,and activation;ultimately,this process leads to the production of cytokines such as type I interferon to mediate antiviral and antitumor immune responses(Fig.1).Phosphoinositides,derived from phosphatidylinositol(PI),are phospholipids in membranes and are also crucial signaling molecules[3].The D-3,D-4,or D-5 positions in the inositol head group can be phosphorylated;therefore,a total of seven different PIP molecules exist in eukaryotes.Phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate(PI4P)is distributed in various membrane components,with the highest amount in the trans-Golgi network(TGN)[4].The PI4P level in cells is regulated by its PI4K synthetases(PI4KA,PI4KB,PI4K2A,and PI4K2B)and the lipid phosphatase SAC1.In addition to being a precursor for PIP2 and PIP3,PI4P is a crucial signaling molecule involved in vesicular transport,lipid transport,and organelle morphology maintenance.

With the widespread application of legged robot in various fields,the demand for a robot with high locomotion and manipulation ability is increasing.Adding an extra arm is a useful but general method for a legged robot to obtain manipulation ability.Hence,this paper proposes a novel hexapod robot with two integrated leg–arm limbs that obtain dexterous manipulation functions besides locomotion ability without adding an extra arm.The manipulation modes can be divided into coordinated manipulation condition and single-limb manipulation condition.The former condition mainly includes fixed coordinated clamping case and fixed coordinated shearing case.For the fixed coordinated clamping case,the degrees of freedom(DOFs)analysis of equivalent parallel mechanism by using screw theory and the constraint equation of two integrated limbs are established.For the fixed coordinated shearing case,the coordinated working space is determined,and an ideal coordinated manipulation ball is presented to guide the coordinated shearing task.In addition,the constraint analysis of two adjacent integrated limbs is performed.Then,mobile manipulation with one integrated leg–arm limb while using pentapod gait is discussed as the single-limb manipulation condition,including gait switching analysis between hexapod gait and pentapod gait,different pentapod gaits analysis,and a complex six-DOF manipulation while walking.Corresponding experiments are implemented,including clamping tasks with two integrated limbs,coordinated shearing task by using two integrated limbs,and mobile manipulation with pentapod gait.This robot provides a new approach to building a multifunctional locomotion platform.

“Ordinary and innovation”are two words that seem incompatible.However,they are well integrated from a doctor’s perspective.It takes more years to learn as a medical student than as an ordinary college student,and the boring and mundane life of learning breed innovation.The seemingly mundane day‐to‐day patient‐treating work is full of innovation.People who withstand the ordinary can achieve innovation.Innovation shines in ordinary accumulation.In particular,for a child psychiatrist,ignorance and discrimination among others are mixed with the ordinary.This makes the flash of innovation more dazzling and valuable.

Elastic wave absorption at subwavelength scale is of significance in many engineering applications.Non-Hermitian metamaterials show the ability in high-efficiency wave absorption.However,the single functionality of metamaterials is an important limitation on their practical applications for lack of tunability and reconfigurability.Here,we propose a tunable and reconfigurable non-Hermitian piezoelectric metamaterial bar,in which piezoelectric bars connect with resonant circuits,to achieve asymmetric unidirectional perfect absorption(UPA)and symmetric bidirectional perfect absorption(PA)at low frequencies.The two functions can be arbitrarily switched by rearranging shunted circuits.Based on the reverberation-ray matrix(RRM)method,an approach is provided to achieve UPA by setting an exceptional point(EP)in the coupled resonant bandgap.By using the transfer matrix method(TMM)and the finite element method(FEM),it is observed that a non-Hermitian pseudo-band forms between two resonant bandgaps,and the EP appears at the bottom of the pseudo-band.In addition,the genetic algorithm is used to accurately and efficiently design the shunted circuits for desired low-frequency UPA and PA.The present work may provide new strategies for vibration suppression and guided waves manipulation in wide potential applications.

For large-scale networked plant-wide systems composed by physically(or geographically) divided subsystems, only limited information is available for local controllers on account of region and communication restrictions. Concerning the optimal control problem of such subsystems, a neighbor-based distributed model predictive control(NDMPC) strategy is presented to improve the global system performance. In this scheme, the performance index of local subsystems and that of its neighbors are minimized together in the determination of the optimal control input, which makes the local control decision also beneficial to its neighboring subsystems and further contributes to improving the convergence and control performance of overall system.The stability of the closed-loop system is proved. Moreover, the parameter designing method for distributed synthesis is provided.Finally, the simulation results illustrate the main characteristics and effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.

As in many other countries,child psychiatry in China has gradually developed from general psychiatry.In the early days of the profession,child psychiatry was considered as psychiatry for“little adults”.Child psychiatry in China has gradually developed and expanded since the implementation of Professor Guotai Tao’s child psychiatric services in Nanjing in the 1930s.In particular,the profession has developed rapidly since its affiliation with the International Association for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Allied Professions(IACAPAP)in 1998.Child psychiatry has been one of the fastest developing advanced international disciplines over the past 10 years.

At present,predicting the severity of brain injury caused by global cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury(GCI/RI)is a clinical problem.After such an injury,clinical indicators that can directly reflect neurological dysfunction are lacking.The change in hippocampal microstructure is the key to memory formation and consolidation.Diffusion tensor imaging is a highly sensitive tool for visualizing injury to hippocampal microstructure.Although hippocampal microstructure,brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF),and tropomyosin-related kinase B(Trk B)levels are closely related to nerve injury and the repair process after GCI/RI,whether these indicators can reflect the severity of such hippocampal injury remains unknown.To address this issue,we established rat models of GCI/RI using the four-vessel occlusion method.Diffusion tensor imaging parameters,BDNF,and Trk B levels were correlated with modified neurological severity scores.The results revealed that after GCI/RI,while neurological function was not related to BDNF and Trk B levels,it was related to hippocampal fractional anisotropy.These findings suggest that hippocampal fractional anisotropy can reflect the severity of hippocampal injury after global GCI/RI.The study was approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee of Capital Medical University,China(approval No.AEEI-2015-139)on November 9,2015.

Bionic Design and Analysis of a Novel Quadruped Robot with a Multistage Buffer System

Large quadruped mammals,such as ruminants,have outstanding motion ability,including running and bounding.These advanced motion abilities are related to the buffer effect of their complicated musculoskeletal systems.However,the buffer effect of most bio-robots is not satisfactory owing to the simple design of their buffer systems.In this paper,a physiological analysis of the ruminant musculoskeletal system is presented to explain the intrinsic buffer mechanism of motion.Based on the physical buffer parts of the ruminant limbs,the corresponding bionic mappings were determined.These mappings were used to guide the mechanism design of the robot multistage buffer system.The multistage buffer system includes two main buffer mechanisms:the first stage and the second stage.The buffer mechanism analysis of the first stage and multiple stages is discussed in theory to compare the effects between the normal single buffer system and the novel multistage buffer system.Then,the detailed mechanical structure of the limbs was designed based on the limb mechanism design.To further verify the superior efficacy of the multistage buffer system,the corresponding walking simulation experiments were conducted after the virtual prototype of a quadruped robot with a novel limb was built completely.Both theoretical analysis and simulation experiments prove that the bionic robot design with the novel multistage buffer system achieves better motion performance than the traditional robot buffer design and can be regarded as the design template of the robot limb.
