The zero-valent iron modified biochar materials are widely employed for heavy metals immobilization.However,these materials would be inevitably aged by natural forces after entering into the environment,while there are seldom studies reported the aging effects of zero-valent iron modified biochar.In this work,the hydrogen peroxide and hydrochloric acid solution were applied to simulate aging conditions of zero-valent iron modified biochar.According to the results,the adsorption capacity of copper(II)contaminants on biochar,zero-valent iron modified biochar-1,and zero-valent iron modified biochar-2 after aging was decreased by 15.36%,22.65%and 23.26%,respectively.The surface interactions were assigned with chemisorption occurred on multi-molecular layers,which were proved by the pseudo-second-order and Langmuir models.After aging,the decreasing of capacity could be mainly attributed to the inhibition of ion-exchange and zero-valent iron oxidation.Moreover,the plant growth and soil leaching experiments also proved the effects of aging treatment,the zero-valent iron modified biochar reduced the inhibition of copper(II)bioavailability and increased the mobility of copper(II)after aging.All these results bridged the gaps between bio-adsorbents customization and their environmental behaviors during practical agro-industrial application.

本文研究了带有整体单极的Reissner-Nordstrom-AdS黑洞在扩展相空间中出射粒子的量子隧穿辐射过程.其中,将宇宙学参数视为动态变量而不同于之前研究工作中将其视为常数而忽略其贡献.具体地,在计算出射粒子隧穿率时将宇宙学参数引入计算并将其解释为热力学压强.计算结果表明,出射粒子的隧穿率与粒子出射前后黑洞的贝肯斯坦-霍金熵差成正比,辐射谱偏离了纯热谱,该结果与将宇宙学参数视为常数的情况完全相同.这意味着在扩展相空间中可以得到粒子的隧穿概率,并且隧穿过程不依赖于热力学状参量,这一工作自然地进一步将霍金辐射推广到了带有整体单极Reissner-Nordstrom-AdS黑洞扩展相空间中.结果表明,整体单极子尽管影响粒子的动力学行为和热力学量,但并不影响熵变和隧穿率.

Developing multi-functional and low-cost noble-metal-free catalysts such as transition metal phosphides(TMPs)to replace noble-metal is of practical significance for energy conversion and storage.However,the low-durability and the agglomeration phenomenon during the electrochemical process limit their practical applications.Herein,using metal–organic frameworks(MOFs)as the precursor and a combined strategy of gradient temperature calcination and thermal phosphorization,a 0D/2D heterostructure of NiCoFe-P quantum dots(QDs)anchored on porous carbon was successfully developed as highly efficient electrode materials for overall water splitting and supercapacitors.Owing to this distinctive 0D/2D heterostructure and the synergistic effect of multi-metallic TMPs,the NiCoFe-P/C exhibits excellent electrocatalytic activity and durability of HER(87 mV at 10 mA cm^(-2))and OER(257 mV at 100 mA cm^(-2))in the KOH electrolyte.When NiCoFe-P/C is used as the two electrodes of electrolyzed water,only 1.55 V can drive the current density to 10 m A cm^(-2).At the same time,our NiCoFe-P/C possessed extraordinary property for charge storage.In particular,an ultra-high energy density of 100.8 Wh kg^(-1) was achieved at a power density of 900.0 W kg^(-1) for our assembled hybrid supercapacitor device NiCoFe-P/C(2:1)//activated carbon(AC).This work may open a potential way for the design of 0D/2D hybrid multifunctional nanomaterials based on TMPs QDs.

High-order harmonic generation(HHG) of Ar atom in an elliptically polarized intense laser field is experimentally investigated in this work.Interestingly,the anomalous ellipticity dependence on the laser ellipticity(ε) in the lower-order harmonics is observed,specifically in the 13rd-order,which displays a maximal harmonic intensity at ε ≈ 0.1,rather than at ε = 0 as expected.This contradicts the general trend of harmonic yield,which typically decreases with the increase of laser ellipticity.In this study,we attribute this phenomenon to the disruption of the symmetry of the wave function by the Coulomb effect,leading to the generation of a harmonic with high ellipticity.This finding provides valuable insights into the behavior of elliptically polarized harmonics and opens up a potential way for exploring new applications in ultrafast spectroscopy and light–matter interactions.

BACKGROUND The incidence and mortality rate of colorectal cancer progressively increase with age and become particularly prominent after the age of 50 years.Therefore,the population that is≥50 years in age requires long-term and regular colonoscopies.Uncomfortable bowel preparation is the main reason preventing patients from undergoing regular colonoscopies.The standard bowel preparation regimen of 4-L polyethylene glycol(PEG)is effective but poorly tolerated.AIM To investigate an effective and comfortable bowel preparation regimen for hospitalized patients≥50 years in age.METHODS Patients were randomly assigned to group 1(2-L PEG+30-mL lactulose+a lowresidue diet)or group 2(4-L PEG).Adequate bowel preparation was defined as a Boston bowel preparation scale(BBPS)score of≥6,with a score of≥2 for each segment.Non-inferiority was prespecified with a margin of 10%.Additionally,the degree of comfort was assessed based on the comfort questionnaire.RESULTS The proportion of patients with a BBPS score of≥6 in group 1 was not significantly different from that in group 2,as demonstrated by intention-to-treat(91.2%vs 91.0%,P=0.953)and per-protocol(91.8%vs 91.0%,P=0.802)analyses.Furthermore,in patients≥75 years in age,the proportion of BBPS scores of≥6 in group 1 was not significantly different from that in group 2(90.9%vs 97.0%,P=0.716).Group 1 had higher comfort scores(8.85±1.162 vs 7.59±1.735,P<0.001),longer sleep duration(6.86±1.204 h vs 5.80±1.730 h,P<0.001),and fewer awakenings(1.42±1.183 vs 2.04±1.835,P=0.026)than group 2.CONCLUSION For hospitalized patients≥50 years in age,the bowel preparation regimen comprising 2-L PEG+30-mL lactulose+a low-residue diet produced a cleanse that was as effective as the 4-L PEG regimen and even provided better comfort.

BACKGROUND Intrabony defects beneath non-keratinized mucosa are frequently observed at the distal site of terminal molars.Consequently,the application of regenerative treatment using the modified wedge-flap technique is considered impractical for these specific dental conditions.CASE SUMMARY This article proposes a modified surgical procedure aimed at exposing the distal intrabony defect by making a vertical incision in the keratinized buccal gingiva.The primary objective is to maintain gingival flap stability,thereby facilitating periodontal regeneration.The described technique was successfully employed in a case involving the left mandibular second molar,which presented with an intrabony defect without keratinized gingiva at the distal site.In this case,an incision was made on the disto-buccal gingival tissue,creating a tunnel-like separation of the distal non-keratinized soft tissue to expose the intrabony defect.Subsequently,bone grafting and guided tissue regeneration surgeries were performed,resulting in satisfactory bone fill at 9 mo postoperatively.CONCLUSION This technique offers a regenerative opportunity for the intrabony defects beneath non-keratinized mucosa and is recommended for further research.

BACKGROUND Hemobilia occurs when there is a fistula between hepatic blood vessels and biliary radicles,and represents only a minority of upper gastrointestinal hemorrhages.Causes of hemobilia are varied,but liver abscess rarely causes hemobilia and only a few cases have been reported.Here,we present a case of atypical hemobilia caused by liver abscess that was successfully managed by endoscopic hepatobiliary intervention through endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP).CASE SUMMARY A 54-year-old man presented to our emergency department with a history of right upper quadrant abdominal colic and repeated fever for 6 d.Abdominal sonography and enhanced computed tomography revealed that there was an abscess in the right anterior lobe of the liver.During hospitalization,the patient developed upper gastrointestinal bleeding.Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy revealed a duodenal ulcer bleeding that was treated with three metal clamps.However,the hemodynamics was still unstable.Hence,upper gastrointestinal endoscopy was performed again and fresh blood was seen flowing from the ampulla of Vater.Selective angiography did not show any abnormality.An endoscopic nasobiliary drainage(ENBD)tube was inserted into the right anterior bile duct through ERCP,and subsequently cold saline containing(-)-noradrenaline was infused into the bile duct lumen through the ENBD tube with no episode of further bleeding.CONCLUSION Hemobilia should be considered in the development of liver abscess,and endoscopy is essential for diagnosis and management of some cases.

Boswellic acids is a general term for a series of pentacyclic triterpenoid compounds that are isolated from the oleogin resin of the Boswellia genus and serve as the main active ingredient.It exhibits a wide range of biological activities,such as anti-inflammatory,anti-cancer,antibacterial,antiviral,hepatoprotective,neuroprotective,anti-diabetic,and anti-thrombotic properties.As a result,it has gained significant recognition among practitioners of traditional Chinese and Indian medicine.These biological effects may be associated with multiple molecular targets and signal transduction pathways.However,the poor pharmacokinetic properties of the substance lead to lower bioavailability,which affects its effectiveness.To address this issue,scientists have proposed a number of strategies,such as solid dispersions,phytosome®technologies,and novel drug delivery systems.This article aims to provide a comprehensive overview for boswellic acids on the phytochemistry,molecular mechanisms,potential therapeutic applications,and strategies to improve bioavailability.

Background:Endocrine therapy(ET)and ET-based regimens are the preferred first-line treatment options for hormone receptor(HR)-positive and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(HER2)-negative metastatic breast cancer(HR+/HER2-MBC),while chemotherapy(CT)is commonly used in clinical practice.The aim of this study was to investigate the efficacy and clinical outcome of ET and CT as first-line treatment in Chinese patients with HR+/HER2-MBC.Methods:Patients diagnosed with HR+/HER2-MBC between January 1st,1996 and September 30th,2018 were screened from the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology Breast Cancer database.The initial and maintenance first-line treatment,progression-free survival(PFS),and overall survival(OS)were analyzed.Results:Among the 1877 included patients,1215(64.7%)received CT and 662(35.3%)received ET as initial first-line treatment.There were no statistically significant differences in PFS and OS between patients receiving ET and CT as initial first-line treatment in the total population(PFS:12.0 vs.11.0 months,P=0.22;OS:54.0 vs.49.0 months,P=0.09)and propensity score matched population.For patients without disease progression after at least 3 months of initial therapy,maintenance ET following initial CT(CT-ET cohort,n=449)and continuous schedule of ET(ET cohort,n=527)had longer PFS than continuous schedule of CT(CT cohort,n=406)in the total population(CT-ET cohort vs.CT cohort:17.0 vs.8.5 months;Pyielded the same results as PFS.Conclusions:ET was associated with similar clinical outcome to CT as initial first-line treatment.For patients without disease progression after initial CT,switching to maintenance ET showed superiority in clinical outcome over continuous schedule of CT.
