This paper addresses an uncertain nonlinear control system problem with complex state constraints and mismatched uncertainties.A novel Gaussian Mixture Model(GMM)based adaptive PID-Nonsingular Terminal Sliding Mode Control(NTSMC)(GMM-adaptive-PID-NTSMC)method is proposed.It is achieved by combining a GMM based adaptive potential function with a novel switching surface of PID-NTSMC.Next,the stability of the closed-loop system is proved.The main contribution of this paper is that the GMM method is applied to obtain the analytic description of the complex bounded state constraints,ensuring that the states'constraints are not violated with GMM-based adaptive potential function.The developed potential function can consider the influence of uncertainties.More importantly,the GMM-adaptive-PID-NTSMC can be generalized to control a more representative class of uncertain nonlinear systems with constrained states and mismatched uncertainties.In addition,the proposed controller enhances the robustness,and requires less control cost and reduces the steady state error with respect to the Artificial Potential Function based Nonsingular Terminal Sliding Mode Control(APF-NTSMC),GMM-NTSMC and GMM-adaptive-NTSMC.At last,numerical simulation is performed to validate the superior performance of the proposed controller.

Currently, the primary treatment for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a comprehensive treatment based on surgery.1 In the case of advanced HCC that may not be removed surgically, additional issues, such as drug resistance and drug inefficacy with long-term use of chemotherapeutic drugs, highlight the pressing need for new treatment strategies.2 Autophagy plays an essential role in cellular physiology, which was reported to modulate components of the immune system.3 Autophagy-related immune genes (ARIGs) are linked to both autophagy and immunity. Here we identified histone deacetylase 1 (HDAC1), an ARIG strongly expressed in HCC, as a therapeutic target.4 Then valproic acid (VPA), a specific inhibitor of HDAC1,5 was used to treat liver cancer in vitro and in vivo. The results demonstrated that VPA could significantly induce autophagy and apoptosis of Hepa1-6 cells and inhibit tumor growth in vivo. This effect could be related to the regulation of autophagy and tumor immune microenvironment by VPA.

BACKGROUND Novel oral anticoagulants(NOACs)are commonly used for the anticoagulation of patients with atrial fibrillation.Reports of thrombocytopenic toxicity of NOACs are limited.In this report,we present a case of thrombocytopenia likely induced by rivaroxaban,which is an extremely rare adverse drug reaction.CASE SUMMARY A 70-year-old man presented to the cardiovascular department with a chief complaint of intermittent chest tightness and dyspnea over the last five years.Vital signs were within normal limits at presentation,with a heart rate of 65 beats/min,blood pressure of 138/78 mmHg,respiratory rate of 19 breaths/min,and temperature of 36.1°C.Laboratory tests indicated a platelet count of 163×109/L on admission.Anticoagulant therapy with rivaroxaban,a NOAC,was started on the second day of hospitalization.The platelet count decreased to 30×109/L on hospital day 11 and then 10×109/L on day 12.Rivaroxaban was stopped on day 13 when the platelet count decreased to 5×109/L.After the cessation of rivaroxaban,the platelet count returned to normal.The patient was diagnosed with thrombocytopenia,which was likely induced by rivaroxaban.The incidence of thrombocytopenic toxicity of NOACs is extremely low.CONCLUSION Thrombocytopenia during anticoagulation therapy may be associated with a high risk of life-threatening bleeding.For elderly patients,changes in platelet count should be carefully monitored at the beginning of NOAC treatment,and we should be on the alert for bleeding events as well.

To improve the defense capability of military equipment under extreme conditions,impact-resistant and high-energy-consuming materials have to be developed.The damping characteristic of entangled porous metallic wire materials(EPMWM)for vibration isolation was previously investigated.In this paper,a study focusing on the impact-resistance of EPMWM with the consideration of ambient temperature is presented.The quasi-static and low-velocity impact mechanical behavior of EPMWM under different temperatures(25℃-300℃)are systematically studied.The results of the static compression test show that the damping energy dissipation of EPMWM increases with temperature while the nonlinear damping characteristics are gradually enhanced.During the impact experiments,the impact energy loss rate of EPMWM was between 65%and 85%,while the temperatures increased from 25℃to 300℃.Moreover,under the same drop impact conditions,the overall deformation of EPMWM decreases in the temperature range of 100℃-200℃.On the other hand,the impact stiffness,energy dissipation,and impact loss factor of EPMWM significantly increase with temperature.This can be attributed to an increase in temperature,which changes the thermal expansion coefficient and contact state of the internal wire helixes.Consequently,the energy dissipation mode(dry friction,air damping,and plastic deformation)of EPMWM is also altered.Therefore,the EPMWM may act as a potential candidate material for superior energy absorption applications.

For large-scale networked plant-wide systems composed by physically(or geographically) divided subsystems, only limited information is available for local controllers on account of region and communication restrictions. Concerning the optimal control problem of such subsystems, a neighbor-based distributed model predictive control(NDMPC) strategy is presented to improve the global system performance. In this scheme, the performance index of local subsystems and that of its neighbors are minimized together in the determination of the optimal control input, which makes the local control decision also beneficial to its neighboring subsystems and further contributes to improving the convergence and control performance of overall system.The stability of the closed-loop system is proved. Moreover, the parameter designing method for distributed synthesis is provided.Finally, the simulation results illustrate the main characteristics and effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.

Herein,a series of niobium oxide supported cerium nanotubes(Ce NTs)catalysts with different loading amount of Nb_(2)O_(5)(0–10 wt.%)were prepared and used for selective catalytic reduction of NOxwith NH_(3)(NH_(3)-SCR)in the presence of CH_(2)Cl_(2).Commercial V_(2)O_(5)-WO_(3)-TiO_(2) catalyst was also prepared for comparison.The physcial properties and chemical properties of the Nb_(2)O_(5) loaded cerium nanotubes catalysts were investigated by X-ray diffractometer,Transmission electron microscope,Brunauer-Emmett-Teller specific surface area,H_(2)-temperature programmed reduction,NH_(3)-temperature programmed desorption and Xray photoelectron spectroscopy.The experiment results showed that the loading amount of Nb_(2)O_(5) had a significant effect on the catalytic performance of the catalysts.10 wt.%Nb-Ce NTs catalyst presented the best NH_(3)-SCR performance and degradation efficiency of CH_(2)Cl_(2) among the prepared catalysts,due to its superior redox capability,abundant surface oxygen species and acid sites,the interaction between Nb and Ce,higher ratio of Nb^(4+)/(Nb^(5+)+Nb^(4+))and Ce^(3+)/(Ce^(3+)+Ce^(4+)),as well as the special tubular structure of cerium nanotube.This study may provide a practical approach for the design and synthesis of SCR catalysts for the simultaneously removal NOxand chlorinated volatile organic compounds(CVOCs)emitted from the stationary industrial sources.

Background and aims:Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is one of the leading causes of cancer death.Multi-pathway combination therapy is used to treat HCC,and immunotherapy is also a routine part of treatment.As a major component of the tumor microenvironment(TME),cancer-associated fibroblasts(CAFs)actively participate in cancer progression through complex functions.However,because CAFs dynamically change during cancer development,most of the current treatment strategies targeting CAFs fail.We created a prognostic CAF marker gene signature(CAFMGS)to investigate the utility of CAFs as a prognostic factor and therapeutic target.Methods:Gene Expression Omnibus(GEO)single-cell RNA sequencing(Sc-RNA-seq)data were analyzed to identify CAF marker genes in HCC.The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)database was used as a training cohort to construct the CAFMGS model and the International Cancer Genome Consortium(ICGC)dataset was used to validate the CAFMGS.Results:Marker genes in the CAFMGS model were(0.0001-SPP1),(0.0084-VCX3A),(0.0015-HMGA1),(0.0082-PLOD2),and(0.0075-CACYBP).The CAFMGS_score was separated into high-risk and low-risk groups based on the median of the patients’OS.Univariate and multivariate analyses confirmed that CAFMGS_score was an independent prognostic factor in the training group.CAFMGS_score was a more accurate prognostic indicator compared with clinicopathological score and tumor mutational burden score.Conclusion:CAFMGS offers a fresh perspective on stromal cell marker genes in HCC prognosis and expands our knowledge of CAF heterogeneity and functional diversity,perhaps paving the way for CAF-targeted immunotherapy in HCC patients.

BACKGROUND Hyperthyroidism in pregnancy may pose a great threat to maternal and fetal health.The risk of hyperthyroid heart disease(HHD),even heart failure,is significantly elevated in pregnant women.AIM To investigate the clinical characteristics,prognosis,and therapy of HHD in pregnant women.METHODS We searched the patient registry data at West China Second University Hospital of Sichuan University in Chengdu,China,following the approval by the Ethics Committee.We retrospectively analyzed the clinical characteristics of pregnant women diagnosed with HHD.The medical records of women with HHD during pregnancy from January 2012 to December 2017 were obtained from the electronic medical records system.All the included patients were followed in outpatient clinics and by telephone interviews until October 2018.RESULTS A total of 155 patients were diagnosed with thyrotoxicosis,of whom six were diagnosed with HHD.Three of them had regular antenatal care.Two patients were complicated with acute heart failure attacks,and one of them had a stillbirth.Both of these patients had a long history of Graves’disease with poor treatment compliance.Treatments of precipitating factors such as the control of infection could relieve the symptoms and prolong gestation for a better prognosis.Hyperthyroid heart failure could be controlled with aggressive diuretics and management of the coexisting complications.Intense monitoring and timely anti-heart failure treatment were crucial in patients with severe cardiac damage.Our findings indicated the importance of regular antenatal care and treatment adherence in patients with hyperthyroidism.CONCLUSION The timely and accurate diagnosis of HHD and the implementation of effective management are important for a better prognosis in pregnant women with HHD.Improvement in patients’awareness of thyrotoxicosis is needed.

Top coal caving mining technique in thick coal seam beneath the earth dam

It is important to study the mining technology under structures for raising the coal resources recovery ratio. Based on the geological and mining conditions, the top coal caving harmonic mining technique in thick coal seam beneath the earth dam was put forward and studied. The 5 factors such as the panel mining direction, panel size, panel location, panel mining sequence and panel advance velocity were taken into account in this technique. The dam movement and deformation were predicted after the thick coal seam mining and the effects of mining on the dam were studied. By setting up the surveying stations on the dam, the movement and deformation of the dam were observed during mining. By taking some protective measures on the dam, the top coal caving mining technique in thick coal seam beneath the earth dam was carried out successfully. The study demonstrates that harmonic mining in thick coal seam is feasible under the dam. The safety of the earth dam after mining was ensured and the coal resources recovery ratio was improved.
