Optimal Cooperative Secondary Control for Islanded DC Microgrids via a Fully Actuated Approach

DC-DC converter-based multi-bus DC microgrids(MGs) in series have received much attention, where the conflict between voltage recovery and current balancing has been a hot topic. The lack of models that accurately portray the electrical characteristics of actual MGs while is controller design-friendly has kept the issue active. To this end, this paper establishes a large-signal model containing the comprehensive dynamical behavior of the DC MGs based on the theory of high-order fully actuated systems, and proposes distributed optimal control based on this. The proposed secondary control method can achieve the two goals of voltage recovery and current sharing for multi-bus DC MGs. Additionally, the simple structure of the proposed approach is similar to one based on droop control, which allows this control technique to be easily implemented in a variety of modern microgrids with different configurations. In contrast to existing studies, the process of controller design in this paper is closely tied to the actual dynamics of the MGs. It is a prominent feature that enables engineers to customize the performance metrics of the system. In addition, the analysis of the stability of the closed-loop DC microgrid system, as well as the optimality and consensus of current sharing are given. Finally, a scaled-down solar and battery-based microgrid prototype with maximum power point tracking controller is developed in the laboratory to experimentally test the efficacy of the proposed control method.

Ce_(2)(MoO_(4))_(3) as an efficient catalyst for aerobic oxidative desulfurization of fuels

Ce_(2)(MoO_(4))_(3)was synthesized by a simple reflux method using cerium nitrate hexahydrate and ammonium molybdate as reactants.The as-prepared Ce_(2)(MoO_(4))_(3)was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),X-ray diffraction(XRD),Scanning electron microscope(SEM),and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).The removal of dibenzothiophene(DBT)in model oil was studied using Ce_(2)(MoO_(4))_(3)as catalyst and oxygen as oxidant.The reaction factors such as reaction temperature,amount of catalyst,and sulfide type on sulfur removal were researched.The results prove that both Ce3+and MoO42-play significant role in the conversion from DBT to DBTO2.The Ce_(2)(MoO_(4))_(3)catalyst has an excellent performance for the sulfur removal of DBT.Under the optimum reaction conditions,sulfur removal of 99.6%was obtained.After recycling five times,no significant loss in catalyst activity of Ce_(2)(MoO_(4))_(3).Mechanism of aerobic oxidative desulfurization was proposed based on the experiment of free radical capture and infrared characterization.

Highly sensitive gas sensors with remarkably low detection limits are attractive for diverse practical application fields including real-time environmental monitoring,exhaled breath diagnosis,and food freshness analysis.Among various chemiresistive sensing materials,noble metal-decorated semiconducting metal oxides(SMOs)have currently aroused extensive attention by virtue of the unique electronic and catalytic properties of noble metals.This review highlights the research progress on the designs and applications of different noble metal-decorated SMOs with diverse nanostructures(e.g.,nanoparticles,nanowires,nanorods,nanosheets,nanoflowers,and microspheres)for high-performance gas sensors with higher response,faster response/recovery speed,lower operating temperature,and ultra-low detection limits.The key topics include Pt,Pd,Au,other noble metals(e.g.,Ag,Ru,and Rh.),and bimetals-decorated SMOs containing ZnO,SnO_(2),WO_(3),other SMOs(e.g.,In_(2)O_(3),Fe_(2)O_(3),and CuO),and heterostructured SMOs.In addition to conventional devices,the innovative applications like photo-assisted room temperature gas sensors and mechanically flexible smart wearable devices are also discussed.Moreover,the relevant mechanisms for the sensing performance improvement caused by noble metal decoration,including the electronic sensitization effect and the chemical sensitization effect,have also been summarized in detail.Finally,major challenges and future perspectives towards noble metal-decorated SMOs-based chemiresistive gas sensors are proposed.

Evolution of biogeographic disjunction between eastern Asia and North America in Chamaecyparis:Insights from ecological niche models

The disjunct distribution of plants between eastern Asia(EA) and North America(NA) is one of the most well-known biogeographic patterns. However, the formation and historical process of this pattern have been long debated. Chamaecyparis is a good model to test previous hypotheses about the formation of this disjunct pattern as it contains six species disjunctly distributed in EA, western North America(WNA)and eastern North America(ENA). In this study, we applied ecological niche models to test the formation of the disjunct pattern of Chamaecyparis. The model calibrated with the EA species was able to predict the distribution of eastern NA species well, but not the western NA species. Furthermore, the eastern Asian species were shown to have higher niche overlap with the eastern North American species. The EA species were also shown to share more similar habitats with ENA species than with WNA species in the genus. Chamaecyparis species in WNA experienced a significant niche shift compared with congeneric species. Chamaecyparis had a low number of suitable regions in Europe and the middle and western NA during the Last Glacial Maximum(LGM) period, and became extinct in the former region whereas it retains residual distribution in the latter. The extirpations in western NA and Europe in response to the late Neogene and Quaternary climatic cooling and the more similar habitats between ENA and EA ultimately shaped the current intercontinental disjunct distribution of Chamaecyparis. Both current hypotheses may be also jointly applied to explain more eastern Asian and eastern North American disjunctions observed today.

T-cell receptor-engineered T cells for cancer treatment： current status and future directions

T-cell receptor （TCR）-engineered T cells are a novel option for adoptive cell therapy used for the treatment of several advanced forms of cancer. Work using TCR- engineered T cells began more than two decades ago, with numerous preclinical studies showing that such cells could mediate tumor lysis and eradication. The success of these trials provided the foundation for clinical trials, including recent clinical successes using TCR- engineered T cells to target New York esophageal squamous cell carcinoma （NY-ESO-1）. These successes demonstrate the potential of this approach to treat cancer. In this review, we provide a perspective on the current and future applications of TCR-engineered T cells for the treatment of cancer. Our summary focuses on TCR activation and both pre-clinical and clinical applications of TCR-engineered T cells. We also discuss how to enhance the function of TCR-engineered T cells and prolong their longevity in the tumor microenvironment.

Species authentication of commercial beef jerky based on PCR-RFLP analysis of the mitochondrial 12S rRNA gene

In this study, we determined species-specific variations by analyzing the mitochondrial 12S rRNA gene sequence variation （-440 bp） in 17 newly obtained sequences and 90 published cattle, yak, buffalo, goat, and pig sequences, which represent 62 breeds and 17 geo- graphic regions. Based on the defined species-specific variations, two endonucleases, Alu I and Bfa I, were selected for species authentication using raw meat/tissue samples and the PCR-RFLP method. Goat and pig were identified using the Alu I enzyme, while cattle, yak, and buffalo were identified by digestion with Bfa I. Our approach had relatively high detection sensitivity of cattle DNA in mixed cattle and yak products, with the lowest detectable threshold equaling 20% of cattle DNA in a mixed cattle/yak sample. This method was successfully used to type commercial beef jerky products, which were produced by different companies utilizing various processing technologies. Our results show that several yak jerky products might be implicated in commercial fraud by using cattle meat instead of yak meat.

Influence of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease on response to antiviral treatment in patients with chronic hepatitis B:A meta-analysis

BACKGROUND Although hepatitis B virus infection is the leading cause of chronic liver injury globally,nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)is gradually gaining attention as another major chronic liver disease.The number of patients having chronic hepatitis B(CHB)with concomitant hepatic steatosis has increased.AIM To analyze the effect of NAFLD on the response to antiviral treatment in patients with CHB.METHODS Relevant English studies were systematically searched across PubMed,EMBASE,Web of Science,and Cochrane Library until October 2023.Studies in which the treatment outcomes were compared between patients with CHB only and those with CHB and hepatic steatosis were included.RESULTS Of the 2502 retrieved studies,11 articles were finally included.Biochemical response until 48 wk(OR=0.87,95%CI:0.50–1.53,P=0.000)and 96 wk(OR=0.35,95%CI:0.24–0.53,P=0.24)and virological response until 96 wk(OR=0.80,95%CI:0.43–1.49,P=0.097)were lower in patients with hepatic steatosis than in patients with CHB alone.CONCLUSION Hepatic steatosis lowers the biochemical response to antiviral treatment in patients with CHB.

Revisiting the variations of precipitation and water vapour budget over the Tibetan Plateau

Owing to the scarcity of observation data in the western Tibetan Plateau(TP),the knowledge of precipitation changes over the entire plateau based only on the limited data in eastern TP is not reliable.Therefore,the alternative high-resolution precipitation data of the China Meteorological Forcing Dataset(CMFD)are used for the comprehensive analysis of precipitation changes over the whole TP(including western and northern TP)to fill in the lack of understanding of precipitation in the western TP.Compared with observations,CMFD can broadly capture the spatial distributions and identify the temporal variabilities of precipitation over the TP.Results with CMFD data suggested that the annual precipitation over the whole TP did not show a uniform humidification trend in 1979-2018 and featured wetting and drying trends in the northern(NTP)and southern TP(STP),respectively.Additionally,the four seasonal regimes of precipitation over the northern TP(NTP,including most areas of western TP)all experienced a noticeable interdecadal shift around the late 1990s,followed by above-normal precipitation.Except for spring,the seasonal precipitation over the southern TP(STP)showed interannual variations.Spring precipitation over the STP has undergone moistening since the late 1990s,which was consistent with that over the NTP.Four different reanalysis datasets,namely JRA55,MERRA2,ERA5 and CRA40,were used to compare the water vapour budget of each boundary over the TP.The increase in spring precipitation over the NTP and STP was found to be related to the decrease in water vapour outflow from the north boundary.The interdecadal increase in summer precipitation over the NTP was mainly due to the reduction of outflow from the east boundary.Finally,the increase in autumn precipitation was related to the increase in inflow from the west boundary.

A promising tool for surgical lipotransfer: a constant pressure and quantity injection device in facial fat grafting

Background: The purpose of this study was to preliminarily assess a constant pressure and quantity fat granule injection device for minimal invasive properties in clinic.Methods: A retrospective controlled study was carried out, from October 2013 to January 2015, on 76 female healthy patients aged between 26 and 53 years at the General Hospital of Lanzhou Military Command, China. To achieve small volume, high thrust, and precision requirements of facial fat grafting, an integrated handheld controller and motor design was adopted, reducing the volume and weight of the fat transplantation injection device. The 76 patients underwent 90 procedures each side of the face;each patient was treated with the aforementioned device on the face's left side, while a conventional hand-push injection device was used on the right side as control. The outcome was assessed on pre- and postoperative images, with 6-24 months follow-up.Results: The current device consistently allowed deposition of fat threads at about 55 μL/cm after cannula withdrawal;the volume of fat injected could be precisely adjusted to 0.04 mL/s. This device had the advantages of small-volume injection and convenient operation. The patients exhibited a good, stable shape and a smooth contour line in both sides. The long term satisfaction was higher for the left side than for the right one. Nodules and unevenness occurred only on the right side. Ecchymosis occurred significantly less frequent on the left side than the right one. Intraoperative pain was significantly lower for the left side than the right one.Conclusions: This device offered superior control compared with the conventional one and constitutes a promising tool for surgeons practicing lipotransfer.

Isocyanide-Based One-Pot Cascade Synthesis of 3-Acyl Isoindolinones

A series of 3-acyl-substituted isoindolinone derivatives were synthesized in a one-pot manner via the reaction of o-bromobenzaldehydes,isocyanides,and carboxylic acids in the presence of palladium catalyst and base. The reaction employing easily available starting materials features simple operation and high efficiency. The mechanistic study showed that the reaction might undergo 1) Pd-catalyzed [3+2] cyclization of o-bromobenzaldehyde with isocyanide and the re-insertion of another molecule of isocyanide,2) addition of carboxylic acid to in situ formed ketenimine followed by a rearrangement relay to give 3,3-diacyl-substituted isoindolinone derivative. Further transformations of the obtained products through decarbonylation could also be realized.
