BACKGROUND Gastric gastrointestinal stromal tumor(GIST)is the most common etiology of gastroduodenal *** gastroduodenal intussusception caused by gastric GIST is mostly treated by surgical resection,the first case of gastroduodenal intussusception caused by gastric GIST was treated by endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD)in Japan in *** SUMMARY An 84-year-old woman presented with symptoms of postprandial fullness with nausea and occasional vomiting for a ***,she visited a local clinic for help,where abdominal sonography revealed a space-occupying lesion around the liver,so she was referred to our hospital for further *** sonography was repeated,which revealed a mass with an alternating concentric echogenic ***(EGD)was performed under the initial impression of gastric cancer with central necrosis and showed a tortuous distortion of gastric folds down from the lesser curvature side to the duodenal bulb with stenosis of the gastric *** was barely passed through to the 2nd portion of the duodenum and a friable ulcerated mass was *** differential diagnoses were suspected,including gastroduodenal intussusception,gastric cancer invasion to the duodenum,or pancreatic cancer with adherence to the gastric antrum and *** computed tomography for further evaluation was arranged and showed gastroduodenal intussusception with a long stalk polypoid mass 5.9 cm in the duodenal *** the impression of gastroduodenal intussusception,ESD was performed at the base of the gastroduodenal intussusception;unfortunately,a gastric perforation was found after complete resection was accomplished,so gastrorrhaphy was performed for the perforation and retrieval of the huge polypoid *** gastric tumor was pathologically proved to be a *** the operation,there was no digestive disturbance and the patient was discharged uneventfully on the 10th day following the op

Comprehensive characterization of ambient nanoparticles collected near an industrial science park:Particle size distributions and relationships with environmental factors

We investigated the characteristics of ambient particles and their relationships with various environmental factors, including gaseous pollutants （CI-h, non-methane hydrocarbons （NMHC）, total hydrocarbons （THC）, NOx, CO, SO2）, meteorological parameters （humidity, temperature）, and time （day/night, workday/weekend）. We used an electrical low-pressure cascade impactor to measure the number and size distributions of ambient particles （0.007-10 ~m） that were collected approximately 1 km northwest of Hsinchu Science Park in Taiwan between February and May 2007. The number concentrations of particles were enhanced through photochemical reactions during the day. In addition, high traffic flow during workdays increased the formation of particulates. Except for SO2, all of the gaseous pollutants we studied （CH4, NMHC, THC, NOx, CO） correlated positively with the total number concentrations of ambient particles during daytime, indicating that they might contribute to the particulate burden. The poorer relationship between the SO2 level and the total number concentration of particles suggests that SO2 might participate indirectly in the nucleation process during particle formation, The high enrichment factors for Zn, Pb, Cu, and Mn, which mostly comprised the ultrafine particles （diameter：〈 0.1 Ixm） and fine particles （diameter： 0.1-1 ~tm）, presumably arose from emissions from traffic and high technology factories. Heterogeneous reactions on solid particles might play a role in the removal of SOx and NOx from the atmosphere. Sulfides and nitrides can further react with these local pollutants, forming specific Cu-containing compounds： Cut （39%）, CuSO4 （34%）, and Cu（NO3）2 （27%）, within the ambient particles in this industrial area.

Salivary glands provide saliva to maintain oral health, and a loss of salivary gland function substantially decreases quality-of-life. Understanding the biological mechanisms that generate salivary glands during embryonic development may identify novel ways to regenerate function or design artificial salivary glands. This review article summarizes current research on the process of branchingmorphogenesis of salivary glands, which creates gland structure during development. We highlight exciting new advances and opportunities in studies of cell-cell interactions, mechanical forces, growth factors, and gene expression patterns to improve our understanding of this important process.

Networking dual-surveillance/dual-pair-tele-paths for critical urban areas

Providing a reliable and efficient communication infrastructure for critical regions is generally a strategy used to enhance regional safety or to sustain regional development. For such purposes, the spider-web network is prototyped as a cellular telecommunication infrastructure for its advantages including being interference-free, possessing fault-tolerance, having security management, and countering radio's multipath effects. Besides, it is used to develop area-based-street-SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) networks composed of regular optimal degree-3 prototyped sub-networks with the concepts of dual-surveillance, operational order and Hamiltonian laceability, and it flexibly fits various circulation configurations. Moreover, it can offer integrative response capabilities even after two paths' SCADA networks have been ruined.

A family of explicit algorithms for general pseudodynamic testing

A new family of explicit pseudodynamic algorithms is proposed for general pseudodynamic testing. One particular subfamily seems very promising for use in general pseudodynamic testing since the stability problem for a structure does not need to be considered. This is because this subfamily is unconditionally stable for any instantaneous stiffness softening system, linear elastic system and instantaneous stiffness hardening system that might occur in the pseudodynamic testing of a real structure. In addition, it also offers good accuracy when compared to a general second-order accurate method for both linear elastic and nonlinear systems.

Psoriasis (Ps) is an inflammatory skin disease caused by genetic and environmental factors. Previous studies on DNA methylation (DNAm) found genetic markers that are closely associated with Ps, and evidence has shown that DNAm mediates genetic risk in Ps. In this study, Consensus Clustering was used to analyze DNAm data, and 114 Ps patients were divided into three subclassifications. Investigation of the clinical characteristics and copy number variations (CNVs) of DEFB4, IL22, and LCE3C in the three subclassifications revealed no significant differences in gender ratio and in Ps area and severity index (PASI) score. The proportion of late-onset ( ≥ 40 years) Ps patients was significantly higher in type I than in types II and III (P = 0.035). Type III contained the smallest proportion of smokers and the largest proportion of non-smoking Ps patients (P = 0.086). The CNVs of DEFB4 and LCE3C showed no significant differences but the CNV of IL22 significantly differed among the three subclassifications (P = 0.044). This study is the first to profile Ps subclassifications based on DNAm data in the Chinese Han population. These results are useful in the treatment and management of Ps from the molecular and genetic perspectives.

Comparison of capability of time integration methods in capturing dynamic loading

Numerical properties of the time integration method proposed by the first author of this paper in 2007 are the same as those of the constant average acceleration method （AAM） for linear elastic systems, except that the capability to capture dynamic loading was not explored. It was found that there were different quadrature equations to predict the next step displacement increment. A modified quadrature equation of this method was derived so that the equation to determine the next step displacement was numerically equivalent to the equation used in the constant AAM. It was verified that the original form of this method, in general, had a better capability to capture dynamic loadings than the constant AAM. This excellent property, in addition to computational efficiency, will help to make this method competitive with general secondorder accurate integration methods.

Aim:Chondrosarcoma is a malignant primary bone tumor that responds poorly toboth chemotherapy and radiation *** aim of the present study was toinvestigate the effect of alendronate,a bisphosphonate,on the invasion andmigration of human chondrosarcoma cells(JJ012).Methods:JJ012 cells weretreated with alendronate of various concentrations up to 100μmol/L for a speci-fied period,and then gelatin zymography and matrigel invasion assay was per-formed to study the effects of alendronate on matrix metalloproteinase(MMP)-2activity and the invasion ability of JJ012 cells,***:Our datashowed that alendronate exerted a dose-and time-dependent inhibitory effect onthe invasion and migration of JJ012 ***,gelatin zymography andRT-PCR showed that alendronate treatment decreased the activity and mRNAlevels of MMP-2 in a concentration-dependent ***:Our find-ings suggest that alendronate may reduce MMP-2 secretion at the transcriptionaland translational levels,and inhibit the invasion of chondrosarcoma ***,alendronate may be a potential candidate for the systemic therapy of chondro-sarcomas,as well as other malignant diseases.
