Enhanced organic degradation and microbial community cooperation by inoculating Bacillus licheniformis in low temperature composting

Microbial activity and interaction are the important driving factors in the start-up phase of food waste composting at low *** aim of this study was to explore the effect of inoculating Bacillus licheniformis on the degradation of organic components and the potential microbe-driven mechanism from the aspects of organic matter degradation,enzyme activity,microbial community interaction,and microbial metabolic *** results showed that after inoculating ***,temperature increased to 47.8℃ on day2,and the degradation of readily degraded carbohydrates(RDC)increased by 31.2%,and the bioheat production increased by 16.5%.There was an obvious enhancement of extracellular enzymes activities after inoculation,especially amylase activity,which increased by 7.68 times on day *** inoculated *** colonized in composting as key genus in the start-up *** network analysis and Mantel test indicated that inoculation drove the cooperation between microbial network modules who were responsible for various organic components(RDC,lipid,protein,and lignocellulose)degradation in the start-up *** function prediction suggested that carbohydrate metabolisms including starch and sucrose metabolism,glycolysis/gluconeogenesis,pyruvate metabolism,etc.,were improved by increasing the abundance of related functional genes after *** conclusion,inoculating *** accelerated organic degradation by driving the cooperation between microbial network modules and enhancing microbial metabolism in the start-up phase of composting.

A major impedance to neuronal regeneration after peripheral nerve injury (PNI) is the activation of various programmed cell death mechanisms in the dorsal root ganglion. Ferroptosis is a form of programmed cell death distinguished by imbalance in iron and thiol metabolism, leading to lethal lipid peroxidation. However, the molecular mechanisms of ferroptosis in the context of PNI and nerve regeneration remain unclear. Ferroportin (Fpn), the only known mammalian nonheme iron export protein, plays a pivotal part in inhibiting ferroptosis by maintaining intracellular iron homeostasis. Here, we explored in vitro and in vivo the involvement of Fpn in neuronal ferroptosis. We first delineated that reactive oxygen species at the injury site induces neuronal ferroptosis by increasing intracellular iron via accelerated UBA52-driven ubiquitination and degradation of Fpn, and stimulation of lipid peroxidation. Early administration of the potent arterial vasodilator, hydralazine (HYD), decreases the ubiquitination of Fpn after PNI by binding to UBA52, leading to suppression of neuronal cell death and significant acceleration of axon regeneration and motor function recovery. HYD targeting of ferroptosis is a promising strategy for clinical management of PNI.

We study the decays ofΛb→Λ(→pπ^(−))ℓ^(+)ℓ^(−)withℓ=(e,μ,τ).We examine the full angular distributions with polarizedΛb,where the T-odd observables are *** discuss the possible effects of new physics(NP)and find that the T-odd observables are sensitive to them as they vanish in the standard *** attention is given to the interference of(pseudo)scalar operators with(axial)vector operators in polarized Λ_(b)→Λ(→pπ^(−))τ^(+)τ^(−),which are studied for the first *** effects are proportional to the lepton masses and therefore may evade the constraint from Λ_(b)→Λ(→pπ^(−))μ^(+)μ^(−) at the LHCb ***Λ_(b)→Λ(→pπ^(−))τ^(+)τ^(−) is uncontaminated by the charmonia resonance,it provides a clean background to probe *** addition,we show that the experimental central value of K10 in Λ_(b)→Λ(→pπ^(−))μ^(+)μ^(−) at the LHCb can be explained by the NP case,which couples to the right-handed quarks and *** polarization fraction of Λ_(b) at the LHCb is found to be consistent with zero regardless of the NP scenarios.

Titanium dioxide（TiO2） has attracted considerable research attentions for its promising applications in solar cells and photocatalytic ***,the intrinsic challenge lies in the relatively low energy conversion efficiency of TiO2,primarily attributed to the substantial band gaps（exceeding 3.0 eV） associated with its rutile and anatase *** multi-objective global optimization,we have identified two quasi-layered ternary Ti-O-S crystals,composed of titanium,oxygen,and *** calculations of formation energy,phonon dispersions,and thermal stability confirm the chemical,dynamical and thermal stability of these newly discovered *** the state-of-art hybrid density functional approach and many-body perturbation theory（quasiparticle GW approach and Bethe-Salpeter equation）,we calculate the optical properties of both the TiOS ***,both phases show favorable photocatalytic characteristics,featuring band gaps suitable for visible optical absorption and appropriate band alignments with water for effective charge carrier ***,ternary compound TiOS holds the potential for achieving high-efficiency photochemical conversion,showing our multi-objective global optimization provides a new approach for novel environmental and energy materials design with multicomponent compounds.

*** The Fankou giant zinc(Zn)-lead(Pb)deposit in Guangdong Province is well-known for its huge reserves of over 10 Mt(million ton)Zn+Pb metals and high ore-grade with Zn+Pb exceeding 15%(Guangdong Fankou Deposit Investigation Group,1980;Zhu XY et al.,2017).After 60 years of exploration and exploitation,the deposit has accumulated millions of tons of *** interesting question is that what components are hosted in these tailings,and whether some key and critical metals such as gallium and germanium are extremely enriched and worth further comprehensive *** motivated us to conduct an integrated set of field investigation,sampling,major-trace element analyses and reserve assessments about the Fankou *** this contribution,we discover that the tailings contain a variety of metal elements such as zinc,lead and gallium with comprehensive utilization *** data can act as a scientific guidance for further exploration and utilization of the Fankou tailings,and aid to enhance the utilization efficiency of the key mineral resource in *** study also provide demonstration for future green mine construction in China.
