Hepatic hydatid cyst is a rare parasitic affection which constitutes a major health problem in countries endemic to hydatidosis. Rupture of hydatid cyst into gallbladder is an exceptional complication first described in 1952 by Atlas and Kamenear. We report the case of a hepatic hydatid cyst rupture into gallbladder in a 31-year-old patient with no history of disease.

The Moroccan Anti-Atlas is a vast geological region composed of a Precambrian basement covered by a late-Neoproterozoic to Paleozoic sedimentary sequences. More than 200 copper occurrences are listed in these sequences. The copper mineralization of the Jbel N’Zourk (Central Anti-Atlas) is observed into the lower Limestones of the lower Cambrian (Adoudou formation), just above the volcanic formations of the Jbel Boho between Bou Azzer El Graara and Zenaga inliers. The region is by an E-W shortening resulting in an overlapping structure with vergence associated with folds. Generally, the mineralization is hosted along the principal fault of Jbel N’Zourk and sometimes in the anticlines hinges. The petrographic study showed that the mineralization can be observed in several aspects, either in the fractures and veins, in small karsts or rarely disseminated in calcite and dolomite minerals. These observations host new arguments who contribute to a later reconcentration of the copper mineralization of Jbel N’Zourk, trapped on faulted and folded structures attributed to Variscan deformation.

Practical Method Proposed to Estimate Silting’s Rate in Small and Hillside Dams

The construction of small dams and hillside reservoirs is a common practice for dealing with erratic and unevenly distributed rainfalls in arid and semi arid areas. Moreover, these small hydraulics structures are recommended as a solution to adapt to climate change in rural areas. They are fundamental for the sustainability of the water resources. However, these dams are potential sinks for upstream sediment. Therefore, it would be useful to monitor and measure the amount of sediments in small dams because it is necessary to understand siltation and better functioning of these vital structures. This control and these measurements require the application of the bathymetry or topography surveys which is too expensive for the responsible of these small dams. In this context, this paper proposes a simple and low cost method called: Triangulation of the estimated silted level. This method is based on direct measurement of the accessible silted level in dam. This new method is compared with another method based on the initial Elevation-Capacity curve of dam, usually used when the bathymetry is not attainable. The results of both of them have been verified with those of the bathymetry and electrical tomography methods and validated the proposal method as the most approximate. Therefore, this method is recommended as a new direct and simple technique to evaluate the amount of silting in small dams and hillside reservoirs.

Effect of RF power on the structural and optical properties of ZnS thin films prepared by RF-sputtering

Zinc sulphide(ZnS) thin films have grown on glass and Si substrates by reactive cathodic radio frequency(RF) sputtering. The RF power was varied in the range of 100 to 250 W, while the deposition time is set at75 min. The optical, structural, and morphological properties of these thin films have been studied. The optical properties(mainly thickness, refractive index,absorption coefficient, and optical band gap) were investigated by optical transmittance measurements in the wavelength range of ultraviolet-visible-near infrared spectroscopy and spectroscopy infrared with Fourier transform. Fourier(FT-IR) and XRD analysis indicated that all sputtering ZnS films had a single-phase with a preferred orientation along the(111) plane of the zinc sphalerite phase(ZB). The crystallite size ranged from 11.5 to 48.5 nm with RF power getting a maximum of 200 W. UV-visible measurements exhibited that the ZnS film had more than 80% transmission in the visible wavelength region. In addition, it has been observed that the band gap energy of ZnS films is decreased slightly from 3.52 to 3.29 eV, and as the RF power is increased, the film thickness increases with the speed of deposit growth. Scanning electron microscopy observations revealed the types of smooth-surfaced films. The measurements(FT-IR) revealed at wave number1118 and 465.02 cmabsorption bands corresponding to the symmetrical and asymmetric vibration of the Zn-S stretching mode. X-ray reflectometry measurements of ZnS films have shown that the density of the films is(3.9 g/cm~3) close to that of solid ZnS.

We studied a pure coordination game in which swimmers had to agree on the distance that they would swim underwater up a line after diving into a swimming pool. The swimmers were not able to communicate with each other. To win the game, the swimmer had to surface at exactly the same point as his partner. This pure coordination game was played by 81 swimmers, 43 of whom then put their decisions into practice in a 25-metre pool. The results revealed the presence of two Schelling points. One point （at 12.5 metres） was that predicted by theory and corresponded to half the maximum possible distance. The other Schelling point （at 25 metres） was practical in nature and reflected a taste for underwater swimming--even though performance （in terms of the distance swum underwater） was not relevant in this game. The results show that swimmers underestimate their water competence when they are not subjected to a competitive challenge.

BACKGROUND Since its complete roll-out in 2009,the French colorectal cancer screening program(CRCSP)experienced 3 major constraints[use of a less efficient Guaiac-test(gFOBT),stopping the supply of Fecal-Immunochemical-Test kits(FIT),and suspension of the program due to the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)]affecting its *** To describe the impact of the constraints in terms of changes in the quality of screeningcolonoscopy(Quali-Colo).METHODS This retrospective cohort study included screening-colonoscopies performed by gastroenterologists between Jan-2010 and Dec-2020 in people aged 50-74 living in Ile-de-France(France).The changes in Quali-colo(Proportion of colonoscopies performed beyond 7 mo(Colo_7 mo),Frequency of serious adverse events(SAE)and Colonoscopy detection rate)were described in a cohort of Gastroenterologists who performed at least one colonoscopy over each of the four periods defined according to the chronology of the constraints[gFOBT:Normal progress of the CRCSP using gFOBT(2010-2014);FIT:Normal progress of the CRCSP using FIT(2015-2018);STOP-FIT:Year(2019)during which the CRCSP experienced the cessation of the supply of test kits;COVID:Program suspension due to the COVID-19 health crisis(2020)].The link between each dependent variable(Colo_7 mo;SAE occurrence,neoplasm detection rate)and the predictive factors was analyzed in a two-level multivariate hierarchical *** The 533 gastroenterologists(cohort)achieved 21509 screening colonoscopies over gFOBT period,38352 over FIT,7342 over STOP-FIT and 7995 over COVID *** frequency of SAE did not change between periods(gFOBT:0.3%;FIT:0.3%;STOP-FIT:0.3%;and COVID:0.2%;P=0.10).The risk of Colo_7 mo doubled between FIT[adjusted odds ratio(aOR):1.2(1.1;1.2)]and STOPFIT[aOR:2.4(2.1;2.6)];then,decreased by 40%between STOP-FIT and COVID[aOR:2.0(1.8;2.2)].Regardless of the period,this Colo_7 mo’s risk was twice as high for screening colonoscopy performed in a public hospital[aOR:2.

Introduction: Intra-articular distal radial fractures in young patients occur in high energy trauma which can lead to a combination of bone and ligaments lesions. An articular step superior to 2 mm is pejorative, for that an adequate radiologic analysis is necessary accessing to the best surgical treatment. The purpose of our study was to investigate this type of fracture and expose radiologic analysis (radiograph and CT-scan) of bone and ligamentous associated lesions of this specific twisted lunate facet fracture for recognizing it and accessing to the best surgical treatment. Patients and Methods: Seven patients with severely displaced type 4 articular fractures of the distal radius whose wrists had been exposed to violent compression are reported in our series, they are required open treatment for the reduction and fixation of disrupted articular surfaces by using an antero-medial approach which allows direct access to the fragment of the lunate facet and easier visualization of the distal radio-ulnar joint. Results: All the patients were clinically examined with antero-posterior and lateral X ray, completed by a CT scan, all the fractures were type IV according to Melone classification. In all of our seven cases there was a lesion of the distal radioulnar joint (DRUJ) identified in the CT scan. The CT scan allowed us to individualize well the void of the lunate fossa and calculate his exact degree of rotation, which is very important for planning therapeutic management. Discussion: In all of our cases the CT scan was to expose all of the osseous and ligamentous injuries;in the sagittal reconstruction we were able to objectify and calculate the exact degree of the rotation of the lunate fossa fragment;in the frontal reconstruction the void of the lunate fossa is visible and in the axial reconstruction we can determine the incongruence of the distal radio-ulnar joint (DRUJ). A Case of Complete Neu-Laxova Syndrome: Report and Literature Review

Neu-Laxova syndrome (NLS) is a rare autosomal recessive and early fatal disease. It is a complex entity that includes intrauterine growth retardation, abnormal facial structure, limb and skeletal abnormalities, and ichthyosis and severe malformations of the central nervous system. We report a rare case of recurrence of Neu-Laxova syndrome in a 32-year-old pauciparous woman, which occurred after a first cousin’s consanguineous marriage. Typical ultrasound findings included hydramnios, severe intrauterine growth restriction, craniofacial and central nervous system abnormalities such as ventriculomegaly. The newborn shows a terrible face with a usual craniofacial aspect, eyeball proptosis, puffy hands and feet, large bilateral cleft lip/palate, severe hall body ichthyosis. The overcome was fatal, the death occurred in less than one hour after birth. Consanguinity remains the most implicated cause which is high in developing countries. Prenatal serial ultrasound examinations with genetic counselling should be performed on high-risk pregnant women to terminate affected pregnancies.
