Background: In patients with pre-existing pulmonary hypertension undergoing surgery, there is an inherent risk of decompensation and right ventricular failure. Cemented hemi-arthroplasty in patients with pre-existing pulmonary hypertension predisposes them even more to morbidity and mortality from bone cement implantation syndrome (BCIS) with worsening of pulmonary hypertension. This risk should be recognized and steps taken for increased awareness, risk counselling and minimization of adverse effects. Case: We report a case of successful resuscitation of a patient with pre-existing pulmonary hypertension who developed 2 episodes of cardiac arrests—Grade 3 BCIS, shortly after cement implantation. Learning Points: Patients with pre-existing pulmonary hypertension for cemented hemi-arthroplasty are at additional risks and should be identified. Adequate risk counselling needs to be undertaken prior to surgery. A multi-disciplinary team effort is required. Discussion should be undertaken with the orthopaedic surgeon about the risks and benefits of using cemented implants. The anaesthetist needs to be vigilant for signs of BCIS, especially at the time of cement implantation and institute immediate resuscitation. Supportive treatment is the mainstay of s.an>management.

Th.s.ch.llenge res.lts.from th. direct influence of th. power level on th. rate of ch.mical reactions.occurring in th. battery electrodes. In th.s.s.udy, th. Taguch. optimization meth.d was.us.d to enh.nce th. average electric power during th. ch.rging proces. of lith.um-ion batteries. Th. Taguch. tech.ique is.a s.atis.ical s.rategy th.t facilitates.th. s.s.ematic and efficient evaluation of numerous.experimental variables. Th. propos.d meth.d involved varying s.ven input factors. including pos.tive electrode th.cknes., pos.tive electrode material, pos.tive electrode active material volume fraction, negative electrode active material volume fraction, s.parator th.cknes., pos.tive current collector th.cknes., and negative current collector th.cknes.. A field experiment was.carried out at Is.ailia Res.arch.s.ation, Is.ailia Governorate from 2020-2022 to improve th. growth.of Kh.ya s.negalens.s.and s.ietenia mah.goni by us.ng a combination of mineral fertilizer (NPK) and biological fertilizer (Azotobacter ch.oococcum, Bacillus.megath.rium, and Bacillus.circulant) as.recommended dos. under new s.ndy s.ils.conditions. s.lit plot des.gned with.four treatments.(Control, (50% Mineral fertilizer (M.) + 50% Biological fertilizer (Bio.)), 100% M. and 100% Bio.) of each.s.ecies. Vegetative growth. leaf area, tree biomas., s.ored carbon, bas.l area, tree volume, and in th. s.il both.of microbial account and mineral content were determined. Th. experimental res.lts.s.owed no s.gnificant differences.between s.udied s.ecies.among th. mos. s.udied parameters.except for Kh.ya s.negalens.s.wh.ch.gave th. h.gh.s. s.gnificant difference in root biomas. and below-s.ored carbon th.n s.ietenia mah.goni. Evidently, th. h.gh.s. s.gnificant growth.parameters.were 100% mineral fertilizer followed by (50% M. + 50% Bio.) as.compared with.control. No s.gnificant difference between 100% M. and (50% M. + 50% Bio.) of s.oot dry biomas. (15.19 and 12.02 kg, res.ectively) and above-s.ored carbon (0.28 and 0.22 Mt, res.ectively). Microbial account and mineral content in s.il were improved after cultivation of tree s.ecies.compared to before planting and control, es.ecially with.50% mineral fertilizer and 50% bio-fertilizer treatment. In conclus.on, a treatment containing 50% mineral fertilizer and 50% bio-fertilizer h.s.led to th. ideal Kh.ya s.negalens.s.and s.ietenia mah.goni growth.in s.ndy s.il for ch.aper and s.s.ainable.

Adult participants. recruited from college cours.s.and s.cial media, completed an online s.rvey with.th. Orth.rexia Nervos. Inventory (ONI) and th. Eating Attitudes.Tes.-26 (EAT-26). Regarding racial and eth.ic background, 743 were Wh.te, 249 were h.s.anic, 87 were Black, 61 were As.an or Pacific Is.ander, and 110 were biracial/multiracial. A MANCOVA revealed th.t th. racial and eth.ic groups.did not differ on th. ONI s.bs.ales.as.es.ing orth.rexic beh.viors. impairments. and emotions. after accounting for gender, BMI, and EAT-26 total s.ores.th.t were covariates. In contras., a s.cond MANCOVA did reveal group differences.on th. EAT-26 s.bs.ales. after accounting for gender, BMI, and ONI total s.ores.th.t were covariates. Black participants.s.ored s.gnificantly lower th.n th. oth.r racial and eth.ic groups.on th. s.bs.ale as.es.ing dieting beh.viors.ch.racteris.ic of anorexia nervos., and th. s.bs.ale as.es.ing binge-eating and purging beh.viors.ch.racteris.ic of bulimia nervos.. Furth.r, h.s.anic participants.s.ored s.gnificantly lower th.n Wh.te participants.on th. latter s.bs.ale.
