A method for correcting characteristic X-ray net peak count from drifted shadow peak

To correct spectral peak drift and obtain more reliable net counts,this study proposes a long short-term memory(LSTM)model fused with a convolutional neural network(CNN)to accurately estimate the relevant parameters of a nuclear pulse signal by learning of samples.A predefined mathematical model was used to train the CNN-LSTM model and generate a dataset composed of distorted pulse *** trained model was validated using simulated *** relative errors in the amplitude estimation of pulse sequences with different degrees of distortion were obtained using triangular shaping,CNN-LSTM,and LSTM *** a result,for severely distorted pulses,the relative error of the CNN-LSTM model in estimating the pulse parameters was reduced by 14.35%compared with that of the triangular shaping *** slightly distorted pulses,the relative error of the CNN-LSTM model was reduced by 0.33%compared with that of the triangular shaping *** model was then evaluated considering two performance indicators,the correction ratio and the efficiency ratio,which represent the proportion of the increase in peak area of the two characteristic peak regions of interest(ROIs)to the peak area of the corrected characteristic peak ROI and the proportion of the increase in peak area of the two characteristic peak ROIs to the peak areas of the two shadow peak ROI,*** measurement results of the iron ore samples indicate that approximately 86.27%of the decreased peak area of the shadow peak ROI was corrected to the characteristic peak ROI,and the proportion of the corrected peak area to the peak area of the characteristic peak ROI was approximately 1.72%.The proposed CNN-LSTM model can be applied to X-ray energy spectrum correction,which is of great significance for X-ray spectroscopy and elemental content analyses.

＜正＞This paper is concerned with the H∞ fixed-lag smoothing problem for discrete linear time-varying systems. The smoothing problem is first converted to an H2 estimation of system with instantaneous and delayed measurements in Krein space. The latter is then solved by re-organizing innovation and applying projection in Krein space. The H∞ smoother is computed by performing two Riccati difference equations of the same dimension as that of the original system. The key techniques applied in this paper are the re-organized innovation and projection theory in Krein space.

This paper presents a computationally efficient model predictive control algorithm applicable for linear time varying systems with bounded *** proposed algorithm is based on the use of an optimized dynamic terminal control law that makes a good control performance possible with an online optimization over relatively smaller horizon *** particular,the use of a dynamic terminal policy allows the optimization of the terminal disturbance invariant feasible set offline so that an upper bound of the terminal cost along with the finite horizon cost can be minimized online with reduced *** results show that the proposed control scheme ensures a good performance with significantly reduced online computational complexity as compared to other schemes that use a static feedback control as the terminal control law.

TCP-friendly source adaptation for multimedia applications over the Internet

In this paper, we propose a simply TCP-friendly source adaptation framework to provide a proportional bandwidth sharing service. Our scheme is based on the framework of Monotonic Response Function (MRF), can be used to bound the sending rate of a source within a predefined interval and provide very smooth traffic, and is suitable for multimedia applications over the Internet. As our scheme is also very simple and TCP-friendly, it is easy to be deployed over the current Internet. We verify our scheme with experimental studies.

Insight into the Origin of Iron Ore Based on Elemental Contents of Magnetite and Whole-Rock Geochemistry:A Case of the Bipindi Banded Iron Formations,Nyong Complex,SW Cameroon

The Bipindi iron ore district is located in the central section of the Nyong Complex at the northwestern margin of the Congo Craton in Southwest *** iron district contains numerous iron mineralization hosted by the Mewongo,Bibole,Kouambo,and Zambi banded iron formations(BIFs).These BIFs contain magnetite as the main iron ore mineral associated with pyrite,and gangue minerals are quartz with minor chlorite and *** origin of iron ore from these BIFs was investigated using a combination of in-situ magnetite and whole-rock *** studied BIF ore samples have a narrow range of TFe between 30.90 wt.%and 43.20 wt.%,indicating a low-grade *** geochemical signatures of magnetite such as low contents of base metals(e.g.,Cu,Co,V,and Zn)and low Co/Zn ratios600 and>75,respectively),we suggest that magnetite was derived from a mixture of seawater and~0.1%low-temperature hydrothermal fluids in an oxidizing ***,low-temperature hydrothermal and later metamorphic fluids were necessary for the transformation of the protolith Nyong Complex BIFs to iron ore.

Nutritional Assessment Tools for Patients with Cancer:A Narrative Review

Cancer patients are at high risk of malnutrition,which can lead to adverse health outcomes such as prolonged hospitalization,increased complications,and increased *** and timely nutritional assessment plays a critical role in effectively managing malnutrition in these ***,while many tools exist to assess malnutrition,there is no universally accepted *** different tools have their own strengths and limitations,there is a lack of narrative reviews on nutritional assessment tools for cancer *** address this knowledge gap,we conducted a non-systematic literature search using PubMed,Embase,Web of Science,and the Cochrane Library from their inception until May 2023.A total of 90 studies met our selection criteria and were included in our narrative *** evaluated the applications,strengths,and limitations of 4 commonly used nutritional assessment tools for cancer patients:the Subjective Global Assessment(SGA),Patient-Generated Subjective Global Assessment(PG-SGA),Mini Nutritional Assessment(MNA),and Global Leadership Initiative on Malnutrition(GLIM).Our findings revealed that malnutrition was associated with adverse health *** of these 4 tools has its applications,strengths,and *** findings provide medical staff with a foundation for choosing the optimal tool to rapidly and accurately assess malnutrition in cancer *** is essential for medical staff to be familiar with these common tools to ensure effective nutritional management of cancer patients.

Mamelles铁矿床位于喀麦隆南部刚果克拉通西北缘,距离克里比地区东南方向约20km。该矿床由大规模、高品位磁铁矿矿体组成,赋存于Nyong杂岩体的条带状铁建造(BIF)中。该矿床中的BIF与角闪岩和片麻岩相伴生。在详细的野外调查基础上,我们获取了BIF的全岩地球化学数据,并用以约束它们的物质来源和沉积环境。弱正铕(Eu)异常(δEu=2.14~3.55)表明高温热液流体对MamellesBIF的贡献是通过海底火山岩蚀变作用的方式,并有少量碎屑物质输入。正铈(Ce)异常的缺失表明,这些BIF可能沉积在缺氧的深海环境中,如火山弧或弧后盆地深水区。

Cystic Degeneration of Uterine Myoma Simulating Ovarian Cancer in Postpartum: A Case Report at the Teaching Hospital of Angre

The transformation of uterine fibroids is common in relation to their development. Giant forms of cystic degeneration are rare. They raise diagnostic difficulties with other pelvic tumors, such as ovarian tumors and leiomyosarcomas. Magnetic resonance imaging specifies the original organ, the volume and the main relationships of fibromyoma with adjacent structures. The diagnosis of certainty is based on laparotomy coupled with histology. The authors illustrate these difficulties by observing a giant cystic degenerative fibroma in a 26-year-old G1P1 woman in the postpartum period.

Epidemiological, Clinical and Paraclinical Profile of Osteoarthritis of the Lower Limbs in Obese Patients at the Cocody University Teaching Hospital

Objective: To describe the epidemiological, clinical and paraclinical characteristics of osteoarthritis of the lower limbs in obese patients at the Cocody University Teaching Hospital. Methodology: This was an analytical cross-sectional study carried out in the rheumatology department of the Cocody UTH in Abidjan (Ivory Coast) from March 1 to April 30 2023. Patients who came for rheumatology consultation presenting with mechanical arthralgia of the lower limbs, who were obese, had radiographic images were included. All patients without radiographic images were excluded. Obesity was defined as a body mass index (BMI) greater than or equal to 30 kg/m. The Chi2 test was used to compare proportions and determine the existence of associations between osteoarthristis and obesity, obesity severity and radiographic stage of osteoarthritis as well as the functional impact. A p-value below a predefined threshold (p = 0,05) indicates a significant relationship between the variables. Result: Out of 185 patients received for osteoarthritis of the lower limbs during the study period, 136 were obese (74%). There were 115 women (84.6%) with an average age of 56.03 with a standard deviation of 12.72 years (extremes: 22 and 84 years). The main socio-professional category was the informal sector (30%). The majority of patients had a low socio-economic level (80.2%) and lived in urban areas (92.6%). The most common past medical history was hypertension (33.08%) followed by peptic ulcer disease (16.91%). Patients had a body mass index class 1 (81.6%), class 2 (15.40%) and class 3 (2.90%). The average duration of symptom progression until diagnosis was 11 months. Genu varum was the main static disorder (56.10%) and the knee joint was the dominant topography (90.4%) with a bilateral localization (80%). The average Lequesne index was greater than 8 (59.5%). The Kellgren and Lawrence radiographic stages were stage 1 (9.20%), stage 2 (46.90%), stage 3 (29.20%) and stage 4 (6.90%).
