Spatiotemporal characteristics of water exchange between the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal

A high-resolution customized numerical model is used to analyze the water transport in the three major water passages between the Andaman Sea(AS)and the Bay of Bengal,i.e.,the Preparis Channel(PC),the Ten Degree Channel(TDC),and the Great Channel(GC),based on the daily averaged simulation results ranging from 2010 to *** analysis and Empirical Orthogonal Function(EOF)methods are employed to investigate the spatiotemporal variability of the water exchange and controlling *** results of model simulation indicate that the net average transports of the PC and GC,as well as their linear trend,are opposite to that of the *** indicates that the PC and the GC are the main inflow channels of the AS,while the TDC is the main outflow channel of the *** transport variability is most pronounced at surface levels and between 100 m and 200 m depth,likely affected by monsoons and circulation.A 182.4-d semiannual variability is consistently seen in all three channels,which is also evident in their second principal *** on sea level anomalies and EOF analysis results,this is primarily due to equatorial winds during the monsoon transition period,causing eastward movement of Kelvin waves along the AS coast,thereby affecting the spatiotemporal characteristics of the flow in the *** first EOF of the PC flow field section shows a split at 100 m deep,likely due to *** first EOF of the TDC flow field section is steady but has potent seasonal oscillations in its time ***,the first EOF of the GC flow field section indicates a stable surface inflow,probably influenced by the equatorial Indian Ocean’s eastward current.

Optimal Timing of Business Conversion for Solvency Improvement

In this paper,we study the optimal timing to convert the risk of business for an insurance company in order to improve its *** cash flow of company evolves according to a jump-diffusion *** conversion option offers the company an opportunity to transfer the jump risk business *** exchange for this option,the company needs to pay both fixed and proportional transaction *** proportional cost can also be seen as the profit loading of the jump risk *** formulated this problem as an optimal stopping *** solving this stopping problem,we find that the optimal timing of business conversion mainly depends on the profit loading of the jump risk business.A larger profit loading would make the conversion option *** fixed cost,however,only delays the optimal timing of business *** the end,numerical results are provided to illustrate the impacts of transaction costs and environmental parameters to the optimal strategies.

Inverse aerodynamic design for distributed propulsion wing with expected circulation distribution

Distributed Propulsion Wing (DPW) technology offers significant advantages in terms of flight energy savings, but the strong aerodynamic coupling between the propulsive internal flow and aerodynamic external flow brings significant design challenges. As the primary DPW profile design is of great significance, this paper proposes a hybrid method to solve the inverse problem mainly based on the formula relationship between the required aerodynamic loads and the profile shape, which is more direct and instructive compared with traditional parametric iterative methods. The aerodynamic characteristics are described by the circulation distribution in the Fourier series form, then the mean camber line of the profile is solved through the re-derived airfoil theory considering disk's influence. Further CFD correction methods are also proposed. To validate the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed hybrid inverse method, several DPW profile design tests are then conducted. Finally, the relationship between 2D and realistic 3D unit shape is also researched. The results show that the proposed inverse design method has great accuracy and convergence speed in the design tests, and shows good robustness against changes of the design parameters. The 2D profile shape and the actual 3D shape of DPW unit can establish an aerodynamicpropulsion equivalent relationship based on the same internal mass fluxes. To achieve high energy density in lithium batteries,the construction of lithium-ion/metal hybrid anodes is a promising *** particular,because of the anisotropy of graphite,hybrid anode formed by graphite/li metal has low transport kinetics and is easy to causes the growth of lithium dendrites and accumulation of dead li,which seriously affects the cycle life of batteries and even causes safety ***,by comparing graphite with two types of hard carbon,it was found that hybrid anode formed by hard carbon and lithium metal,possessing more disordered mesoporous structure and lithophilic groups,presents better *** indicate that the mesoporous structure provides abundant active site and storage space for dead *** the synergistic effect of this structure and lithophilic functional groups(–COOH),the reversibility of hard carbon/lithium metal hybrid anode is maintained,promoting uniform deposition of lithium metal and alleviating formation of lithium *** hybrid anode maintains a 99.5%Coulombic efficiency(CE)after 260 cycles at a specific capacity of 500 m Ah/*** work provides new insights into the hybrid anodes formed by carbon-based materials and lithium metal with high specific energy and fast charging ability.

Nonnegative Matrix Factorization(NMF)is one of the most popular feature learning technologies in the field of machine learning and pattern *** has been widely used and studied in the multi-view clustering tasks because of its *** study proposes a general semi-supervised multi-view nonnegative matrix factorization *** algorithm incorporates discriminative and geometric information on data to learn a better-fused representation,and adopts a feature normalizing strategy to align the different *** specific implementations of this algorithm are developed to validate the effectiveness of the proposed framework:Graph regularization based Discriminatively Constrained Multi-View Nonnegative Matrix Factorization(GDCMVNMF)and Extended Multi-View Constrained Nonnegative Matrix Factorization(ExMVCNMF).The intrinsic connection between these two specific implementations is discussed,and the optimization based on multiply update rules is *** on six datasets show that the effectiveness of GDCMVNMF and ExMVCNMF outperforms several representative unsupervised and semi-supervised multi-view NMF approaches.

The li-Mg-B-H composite(2liBH_(4)+MgH_(2))has a high capacity of 11.4 wt%as a hydrogen storage ***,the slow kinetics and poor cycling stability severely restrict its practical *** this work,a layered Nb_(2)C MXene was first synthesized and then introduced to tailor the kinetics and cycling stability of the li-Mg-B-H *** milled 2liH+MgB_(2)composites were initially hydrogenated to obtain the 2liBH_(4)+MgH_(2)*** 2liBH_(4)+MgH_(2)+5wt%Nb_(2)C can release 9.0 wt%H_(2)in 30 min at 400℃,while it is only 2.7 wt%for the undoped 2liBH_(4)+MgH_(2).The dehydrogenation activation energies of MgH_(2)and liBH_(4)are 123 and 154 kJ·mol^(-1)respectively for the 5 wt%Nb_(2)C-doped composite,lower than the undoped composite(164 and 165 kJ·mol^(-1)).The 2liBH_(4)+MgH_(2)+5 wt%Nb_(2)C possesses excellent cycling stability,with the reversible capacity only slightly reduced from 9.4 wt%for the 1st cycle to 9.3 wt%for the 20th ***_(2)C keeps stable in the composite and acts as an efficient catalyst for the li-Mg-B-H *** is believed that both the layered structure and the active Nb element contribu te to the enhanced hydrogen storage performances of the li-Mg-B-H *** work confirms that the Nb_(2)C MXene with layered stru cture has a significant enhancing impact on the li-Mg-B-H hydrogen storage materials,which is different from the bulk NbC.

Effects of interstitial cluster mobility on dislocation loops evolution under irradiation of austenitic steel

The evolution of dislocation loops in austenitic steels irradiated with Fe^(+)is investigated using cluster dynamics(CD)simulations by developing a CD *** CD predictions are compared with experimental results in the *** number density and average diameter of the dislocation loops obtained from the CD simulations are in good agreement with the experimental data obtained from transmission electron microscopy(TEM)observations of Fe~+-irradiated Solution Annealed 304,Cold Worked 316,and HR3 austenitic steels in the *** CD simulation results demonstrate that the diffusion of in-cascade interstitial clusters plays a major role in the dislocation loop density and dislocation loop growth;in particular,for the HR3 austenitic steel,the CD model has verified the effect of temperature on the density and size of the dislocation loops.

The prescribed Gauduchon scalar curvature problem in almost Hermitian geometry

In this paper,we consider the prescribed Gauduchon scalar curvature problem on almost Hermitian *** deducing the expression of the Gauduchon scalar curvature under the conformal variation,we reduce the problem to solving a semi-linear partial differential equation with exponential *** the super-and sub-solutions method,we show that the existence of the solution to this semi-linear equation depends on the sign of a constant associated with the Gauduchon *** the sign is negative,we give both necessary and sufficient conditions such that a prescribed function is the Gauduchon scalar curvature of a conformal Hermitian ***,this paper recovers the Chern-Yamabe problem,the lichnerowicz-Yamabe problem,and the Bismut-Yamabe problem.

A novel evasion guidance for hypersonic morphing vehicle via intelligent maneuver strategy

This paper presents a novel evasion guidance law for hypersonic morphing vehicles,focusing on determining the optimized wing's unfolded angle to promote maneuverability based on an intelligent ***,the pursuit-evasion problem is modeled as a Markov decision *** the agent's action consists of maneuver overload and the unfolded angle of wings,which is different from the conventional evasion guidance designed for fixed-shape *** reward function is formulated to ensure that the miss distances satisfy the prescribed bounds while minimizing energy ***,to maximize the expected cumulative reward,a residual learning method is proposed based on proximal policy optimization,which integrates the optimal evasion for linear cases as the baseline and trains to optimize the performance for nonlinear engagement with multiple ***,offline training guarantees improvement of the constructed evasion guidance law over conventional ***,the guidance law for online implementation includes only analytical *** maps from the confrontation state to the expected angle of attack and the unfolded angle while retaining high computational *** show that the proposed evasion guidance law can utilize the change of unfolded angle to extend the maximum overload *** it surpasses conventional maneuver strategies by ensuring better evasion efficacy and higher energy efficiency.
