Sequential reactant water management by complementary multisite catalysts for surpassing platinum hydrogen evolution activity

Alkaline hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)offers a near-zero-emission approach to advance hydrogen ***,the activity limited by the multiple reaction steps involving H_(2)O molecules transfer,absorption,and activation still unqualified the thresholds of economic ***,we proposed a multisite complementary strategy that incorporates hydrophilic Mo and electrophilic V into Ni-based catalysts to divide the distinct steps on atomically dispersive sites and thus realize sequential regulation of the HER *** Isotopic labeled in situ Raman spectroscopy describes 4-coordinated hydrogen bonded H_(2)O to be free H_(2)O passing the inner Helmholtz plane in the vicinity of the catalysts under the action of hydrophilic Mo ***,potential-dependent electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)reveals that electrophilic V sites with abundant 3d empty orbitals could activate the lone-pair electrons in the free H_(2)O molecules to produce more protic hydrogen,and dimerize into H_(2) at the Ni *** the sequential management of reactive H_(2)O molecules,NiMoV oxides multisite catalysts surpass Pt/C hydrogen evolution activity(49 mV@10 mA∙cm^(-2) over 140 h).Profoundly,this study provides a tangible model to deepen the comprehension of the catalyst–electrolyte interface and create efficient catalysts for diverse reactions.

Wheat is a staple foodfor more than 35%of the world's population,with wheatflourused to make hundreds of baked *** end-use quality is a major breeding target;however,improving it is especially time-consuming and ***,genes encoding seed-storage proteins(ssPs)form multigene families and are repetitive,with gaps commonplace in several genome *** overcome these barriers and efficiently identify superior wheat SSP alleles,we developed"PanSK"(Pan-SSP k-mer)for genotype-to-phenotype prediction based on an SsP-based pangenome *** uses 29-mer sequences that represent each ssP gene at the pangenomic level to reveal untapped diversity across landraces and modern ***-wide association studies with k-mers identified 23 Ssp genes associated with end-use quality that represent novel targets for *** evaluated the effect of rye secalin genes on end-use quality and found that removal of w-secalins from 1BL/1RS wheat translocation lines is associated with enhanced end-use ***,using machine-learning-based prediction inspired by PanSK,we predicted the quality phenotypes with high accuracy from genotypes *** study provides an effective approach for genome design based on ssP genes,enabling the breeding of wheat varieties with superior processing capabilities and improved end-use quality.

The infinite-layer cuprate ACu O_(2)(A=Ca,Sr,Ba)possesses the simplest crystal structure among numerous cuprate superconductors and can serve as a prototypical system to explore the unconventional *** on the first-principles electronic structure calculations,we have studied the electronic and magnetic properties of the infinite-layer cuprate SrCuO_(2)from a phonon *** find that interesting fluctuations of charges,electrical dipoles,and local magnetic moments can be induced by the atomic displacements of phonon modes in SrCuO_(2)upon the hole *** all optical phonon modes of SrCuO_(2)in the antiferromagnetic Néel state,only the A_(1g)mode that involves the full-breathing O vibrations along the Cu-O bonds can cause significant fluctuations of local magnetic moments on O atoms and dramatic charge redistributions between Cu and O ***,due to the atomic displacements of the A_(1g)mode,both the charge fluctuations on Cu and the electrical dipoles on O show a dome-like evolution with increasing hole doping,quite similar to the experimentally observed behavior of the superconducting T_(c);in comparison,the fluctuations of local magnetic moments on O display a monotonic enhancement along with the hole *** analyses indicate that around the optimal doping,there exists a large softening in the frequency of the A_(1g)phonon mode and a van Hove singularity in the electronic structure close to the Fermi level,suggesting potential electron-phonon *** work reveals the important role of the full-breathing O phonon mode playing in the infinite-layer SrCuO_(2),which may provide new insights in understanding the cuprate superconductivity.

Decalin is considered as an important compound of high-energy-density endothermic fuel,which is an ideal on-board coolant for thermal management of advanced ***,decalin contains two isomers with a tunable composition,and their effects on the pyrolysis performance,such as the heat sink and coking tendency have not been ***,we investigated the pyrolysis of decalin isomers,i.e.,cis-decalin,trans-decalin and their mixtures(denoted as mix-decalin),in order to clarify the effects of the cis-/trans-structures on the pyrolysis performance of decalin *** pyrolysis results confirmed that conversion of the tested fuels(600–725℃,4 MPa)decreased in the order cis-decalin>mix-decalin>*** analyses of the pyrolysis products were used to compare the product distributions from cis-decalin,mix-decalin and trans-decalin,and the yields of some typical components(such as cyclohexene,1-methylcyclohexene,benzene and toluene)showed significant differences,which could be ascribed to deeper cracking of ***,the heat sinks and coking tendencies of the decalins decreased in the order cis-decalin>mix-decalin>*** work demonstrates the relationship between the cis/trans structures and the pyrolysis performance of decalin,which provides a better understanding of the structure-activity relationships of endothermic hydrocarbon fuels.

Artificial vegetation restoration is the main measure for vegetation restoration and soil and water conservation in alpine mine dumps on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau,***,there are few reports on the dynamic changes and the influencing factors of the soil reinforcement effect of plant species after artificial vegetation restoration under different recovery *** selected dump areas of the Delni Copper Mine in Qinghai Province,China to study the relationship between the shear strength and the peak displacement of the root-soil composite on the slope during the recovery period,and the influence of the root traits and soil physical properties on the shear resistance characteristics of the root-soil composite via in situ direct shear *** results indicate that the shear strength and peak displacement of the rooted soil initially decreased and then increased with the increase of the recovery *** shear strength of the rooted soil and the recovery period exhibited a quadratic function *** is no significant function relationship between the peak displacement and the recovery *** positive correlations(Plinear correlations(P0.05)between the shear strength of the root-soil composite and the root length density,and the root volume ratio of the coarse roots to the fine roots.A significant negative linear correlation(P0.05)with the root traits,other soil physical property indices(the moisture content and dry density of the soil),and slope *** coarse-grain content is the main factor controlling the peak displacement of the rooted soil.

In_(2)O_(3)has been found a promising application in CO_(2)hydrogenation to methanol,which is beneficial to the utilization of CO_(2).The oxygen vacancy(O_(v))site is identified as the catalytic active center of this ***,there remains a great challenge to understand the relations between the state of oxygen species in In_(2)O_(3)and the catalytic performance for CO_(2)hydrogenation to *** the present work,we compare the properties of multiple In_(2)O_(3)and Ir-promoted In_(2)O_(3)(Ir-In_(2)O_(3))catalysts with different Ir loadings and after being pretreated under different reduction *** CO_(2)conversion rate of Ir-In_(2)O_(3)is more promoted than that of pure In_(2)O_(3).With only a small amount of Ir loading,the highly dispersed Ir species on In_(2)O_(3)increase the concentration of O_(v)sites and enhance the *** finely tuning the catalyst structure,Ir-In_(2)O_(3)with an Ir loading of 0.16 wt.%and pre-reduction treatment under 300℃exhibits the highest methanol yield of 146 mgCH_(3)OH/(gcat·hr).Characterizations of Raman,electron paramagnetic resonance,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,CO_(2)-temperature programmed desorption and CO_(2)-pulse adsorption for the catalysts confirm that more O_(v)sites can be generated under higher reduction temperature,which will induce a facile CO_(2)adsorption and desorption *** performance for methanol production requires an adequate dynamic balance among the surface oxygen atoms and vacancies,which guides us to find more suitable conditions for catalyst pretreatment and reaction.

Dried roots of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi are an acclaimed traditional Chinese medicine,and wogonoside content is a key indicator used to evaluate *** *** than rising linearly with cultivation years,*** quality initially increases and then ***,little is known regarding the dynamic variations in *** rhizosphere microorganisms under long-term cultivation and underlying mechanisms of their effects on wogonoside formation and *** aim of this study was to investigate the roles of soil nutrients and rhizosphere microbes on *** quality across different cultivation years(1-4 years).The wogonoside content(25.14 mg g^(-1))was highest in the biennial *** and then decreased following long-term *** soil nutrients(available nitrogen,available phosphorus,available iron,available manganese,and available zinc)were reduced significantly as cultivation years *** also affected rhizosphere bacterial community structure significantly,driving it toward deterministic process(i.e.,β-nearest taxon indexduction in rhizosphere bacterial diversity,which significantly increased the relative abundance of beta-glucosidase and decreased the relative abundance of phenylalanine *** rhizosphere microenvironment was altered under long-term cultivation,thereby shaping rhizosphere bacterial community,reducing the community diversity,and ultimately inhibiting wogonoside formation and *** findings may aid in understanding of the mechanisms and reasons for the reduction in *** quality under long-term cultivation from the perspective of soil nutrients and microorganisms,which may theoretically support the future artificial cultivation and management of Chinese medicinal plants.
