In this paper,a climate-adaptation study of vernacular houses in northern Hebei Province has been conducted based on quantitative field surveys. Three typical vernacular houses with different kinds of building envelopes were selected. The field surveys included investigation on building material and construction,measurement of indoor thermal environment, infrared thermographic study of building envelopes and measurement of luminous environment. The results showed that the indoor air temperatures were below thermal comfort zone from late night till early morning and the horizontal temperature gradient was obvious. The adobe wall showed better thermal performance than the other two. As for the building layout,it is beneficial to put a storeroom on the north side of the house as a temperature buffer zone. Furthermore,due to missing insulation and the informal process of construction,significant amounts of heat escaped from building envelopes,especially from the corner of wall,ceiling and around the openings. The daylight factors on the work plan in the main rooms were accordance with design standards and the level of illuminance met the requirements of family's daily activities.

Based on the current indoor natural ventilation and lighting in the space of traditional residential buildings,this paper starts from the passive-design optimization of the spatial natural ventilation and lighting,and makes quantitative evaluation on the quality of current interior natural ventilation and lighting for two typical residential buildings by three indexes,including wind speed,static wind area ratio and satisfaction ratio about minimum lighting coefficient. Based on that, this paper conducts the passive design optimization, and establishes the quantitative association and reevaluation among the passive reformation design, natural ventilation,and lighting environmental quality,proposing the general strategy for the existing residential buildings to respond to the passive reformation design of the natural ventilation and lighting. The special reconstruction of core functionary space of integration of "the living room + dining room + partial space"is researched,and the redesign for the optimization and replacement of both indoor and outdoor enclosure parts is explored,which is expected to provide practical exploration on the strategies for passive construction of spatial natural environmental quality within a large number of highly-energy-consumed residential buildings in China,as well as the green design of residential buildings.

Fieldwork Test Research of the Impact on Building Physical Environment on Six Types of Atrium Space in Cold Climates

Since the research on verification to passive design strategies in sustainable building is at the initial stage,and its test method and verification conclusion are not scientific enough to validate,this paper proposes the necessity of building physical environmental monitoring to quantitative optimization of passive strategies efficiency from the perspective of architecture design and building environment. Adopting comparative research method,this research chooses six types of atrium space in cold climate in China as a prototype,focusing on building physical environmental performance difference in and between atrium and building main space. Spatial parameters of the atrium space will be divided into four factors: spatial geometry,interfacial properties,internal and external related categories. With subdividing these four factors into sub-factors,this paper makes crosscomparison among the sub-factors to clarify passive strategies effectiveness in atrium. Data comparison analysis shows that Winter atrium passive strategy in cold regions from traditional view is not obvious in practical application,and test data need to be stratified refined in atrium design in case of optimizing passive strategy from building prototype perspective.

Building buffer zone space is not only one of essential approaches for better mental quality of interior building space, but also an important factor that may influence interior thermal comfort and energy consumption. This study aims to analyze regulative advantages of buffer zone to the surrounding functional spaces. Based on a fieldwork test in a typical office building in cold climate zone in Beijing,China,the monitor data show interior physical performance in the Winter. The research selects two types of different buffer zones in the same building. One is a south-faced greenhouse which has large dimension with plenty of vegetation,and the other is a simple atrium in the middle of five floor building with mount of skylights. The factors and their influence to surrounding functional spaces and the whole building are found out from the comparisons of collected data by floor to floor monitor test on both buffer zones at the same time. The comparisons of two types of buffer zones conclude that the greenhouse is more effective to air quality regulation but not so clearly wellperformed to thermal buffering as expected due to the dominate active central heating in the Winter. This fieldwork test results for building performance can be helpful for both architects and engineers in the early phase of sustainable design.

WRF Environment Assessment in Guangzhou City with an Extracted Land-use Map from the Remote Sensing Data in 2000 as an Example

Mesoscale urban environment forecast combined with WRF is a current frontier in international academic. Taking Guangzhou as an example,the new land-use model presented by the present authors,the existing USGS and MODIS models in WRF were firstly compared to the remote sensing model in this *** comparison result shows that the land-use model presented by the authors has the highest similarity with the remote sensing data. Secondly,the new land-use model was used to replace the defaulted land-use data in WRF for simulation. By comparing this simulation results with the WRF results using the defaulted USGS and MODIS model,it was showed that the geographic models have a great impact on the mesoscale environment forecast result. Also,the geographic information model presented in this article shows the best accuracy when comparing with the observation data. Results in this study are going to be an important reference in the contemporary international forefront of mesoscale urban environment studies by WRF.

Genome editing holds great promise for the molecular breeding of plants,yet its application is hindered by the shortage of simple and effective means of delivering genome editing reagents into *** plant transformation-based methods for delivery of genome editing reagents into plants often involve prolonged tissue culture,a labor-intensive and technically challenging process for many elite crop *** this review,we describe various virus-based methods that have been employed to deliver genome editing reagents,including components of the CRISPR/Cas machinery and donor DNA for precision editing in *** update the progress in these methods with recent successful examples of genome editing achieved through virus-based delivery in different plant species,highlight the advantages and limitations of these delivery approaches,and discuss the remaining challenges.

To explore the kinetic adsorption under continuous and nonequilibrium states, an integration of continuous measurement and adsorption platform kinetics method was proposed, which was initially called the ICM-AP kinetics method, and a corresponding kinetic adsorption experimental method was developed. Adsorption experiments of europium(Eu) on Ca-bentonite,Na-bentonite, and the D231 cation exchange resin were performed using the ICM-AP kinetics method and continuous measurements. Because the kinetic experimental results observed in this study were different from those of traditional batch adsorption data, pseudo-first-order or pseudo-second-order kinetic models were unsuitable for fitting the experimental ***, a liquid membrane diffusion(LMD) model was developed based on the assumption of simultaneous adsorption/desorption to discuss the mechanism of kinetic adsorption. The kinetic adsorption mechanism was also studied by using *** results indicated that the proposed adsorption model can fit the experimental data more suitably, and the adsorption/desorption behaviors of Eu on bentonite and the D231 resin were simultaneously observed, suggesting that the adsorption kinetics of Eu(Ⅲ) was mainly dominated by hydrated Eu(Ⅲ) ions on the liquid membrane.

A resonant cavity based on the TM_(010)mode is an effective tool for noninvasive beam characterization. This technique has the advantages of a high signal-to-noise ratio, compact structure, and is related to multiple parameters compared with other beam monitors. In this study, high-precision measurements of the bunch charge, arrival time, bunch length, and energy parameters based on the TM_(010)mode are discussed. A cavity beam arrival time monitor(BAM) utilizing a phase cavity has been widely used in many facilities. Regarding bunch-length measurements, the influence of the beam energy, beam offset,and longitudinal spectrum on the TM_(010)mode are carefully considered to reduce errors, and the theoretical resolution of two cavities with different frequencies is analyzed. Owing to the dependence of the beam velocity of the beam loss factor, this method can also be used for the detection low beam energy using two cavities with the same frequency but different cavity lengths. A set of three cavities with different lengths and frequencies of 1.902 and 11.424 GHz is presented for measuring the four aforementioned parameters.

Analysis of Heat Environment Indexes Using Integrated Remote Sensing and Site Measurement Techniques in a Community

Remote sensing and on-site measurement are used to determine the heat environment within a community,and are compared the differences for heat analysis. The two methods perform differently for various underlying surfaces. The individual methods can detect different aspects of the heat environment,which used in combination are useful for heat island research. The differences in estimated air and surface temperatures are smaller in open space and more obvious for vegetated surfaces. Ventilation does not affect the difference between air and surface temperature in open areas,and the vegetation surface and shading moderates surface temperature more effectively than the water surface; The forest is a type of underlying surface with heat comfortable,in which the feeling of air temperature is much difference to the structure of heat environment that should be survey and detected separately. The two methods can be used to study different aspects of the heat environment,thus forming a comprehensive approach for planners in urban and rural spaces.
