A wide range of polymer-based drug delivery systems have been reported for the treatment of variousdiseases.However,the dosing regimen of many drugs,such as stimulator of interferon genes agonists,programmed cell death protein-1 antibodies,and coronavirus disease 2019 vaccines,consists of repeatedintratumoral or intramuscular injections.These repeated administrations may lead to poor adherence,thus resulting in compromised therapeutic outcomes and increased financial burden.Here,we developed a multidose drug delivery platform by engineering polylactic-co-glycolic acid(PLGA)with differentmolecular weights into self-healing single-cavity microcapsules(SSM).This approach showed a flexiblecollocation strategy to achieve customized pulsatile drug release and was fully degradable with goodsafety.Notably,this single-injection delivery system contains only PLGA,holding great promise forclinical translation.

Urban subway tunnel construction inevitably disturbs the surrounding rock and causes the deformation of existing subway structures. Dynamic predictions of the tunnel horizontal displacement, tunnel ballast settlement, and tunnel differential settlement are important for ensuring the safety of buildings and tunnels. First, based on the Hangzhou Metro project, we analyzed the influence of construction on the deformation of existing subway structures and the difficulties and key points in monitoring. Then, a deformation prediction model, based on a back propagation(BP) neural network, was established with massive monitoring data. In particular, we analyzed the influence of four structures of the BP neural network on prediction performance, i.e., single input–single hidden layer–single output, multiple inputs–single hidden layer–single output, single input–double hidden layers–single output, and multiple inputs–double hidden layers–single output, and verified them using measured data.

The evaluation of the implementation effect of the power substation project can find out the problems of the project more comprehensively,which has important practical significance for the further development of the power substation project.To ensure accuracy and real-time evaluation,this paper proposes a novel hybrid intelligent evaluation and prediction model based on improved TOPSIS and Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM)optimized by a Sperm Whale Algorithm(SWA).Firstly,under the background of considering the development of new energy,the influencing factors of power substation project implementation effect are analyzed from three aspects of technology,economy and society.Moreover,an evaluation model based on improved TOPSIS is constructed.Then,an intelligent prediction model based on SWA optimized LSTM is designed.Finally,the scientificity and accuracy of the proposed model are verified by empirical analysis,and the important factors affecting the implementation effect of power substation projects are pointed out.

Electronic structures, which play a key role in determining electrical and optical properties of π-conjugated organic materials, have attracted tremendous interest. Efficient thermoelectric (TE) conversion of organic materials has rigorous requirements on electronic structures. Recently, the rational design and precise modulation of electronic structures have exhibited great potential in exploring state-of-the-art organic TE materials. This review focuses on the regulation of electronic structures of organic materials toward efficient TE conversion. First, we present the basic knowledge regarding electronic structures and the requirements for efficient TE conversion of organic materials, followed by a brief introduction of commonly used methods for electronic structure characterization. Next, we highlight the key strategies of electronic structure engineering for high-performance organic TE materials. Finally, an overview of the electronic structure engineering of organic TE materials, along with current challenges and future research directions, are provided.

Low Earth orbit(LEO) satellite systems provide terrestrial users with services that are not limited by geographical location. However, the conflict between existing allocation schemes and the business variability between beams is becoming increasingly prominent. Beam hopping technology allows for a more flexible and versatile approach to satellite resource allocation. This paper proposes a beam hopping pattern optimization scheme that jointly considers the interference threshold distance and beam service priority, reducing the inter-beam co-channel interference(CCI). In the cluster area, a non-orthogonal multiple access(NOMA)-based collaborative beam hopping(NCBH) scheme is proposed to minimize the cell-edge user(CEU) interference. Since there is a difference in channel gain between the CEU and cellcenter user(CCU), this scheme forms a NOMA cluster to perform power domain multiplexing and formulates a NOMA cluster pairing strategy according to the user location to reduce the CCI of the CEU. After NOMA cluster pairing, the optimal carrier frequency of the NOMA cluster is selected by a reinforcement learning algorithm. The simulation results verify the excellent performance of the proposed NCBH scheme regarding the user’s received power, transmission rate, and outage probability.

In recent years,the nuclear norm minimization(NNM)as a convex relaxation of the rank minimization has attracted great research interest.By assigning different weights to singular values,the weighted nuclear norm minimization(WNNM)has been utilized in many applications.However,most of the work on WNNM is combined with the l 2-data-fidelity term,which is under additive Gaussian noise assumption.In this paper,we introduce the L1-WNNM model,which incorporates the l 1-data-fidelity term and the regularization from WNNM.We apply the alternating direction method of multipliers(ADMM)to solve the non-convex minimization problem in this model.We exploit the low rank prior on the patch matrices extracted based on the image non-local self-similarity and apply the L1-WNNM model on patch matrices to restore the image corrupted by impulse noise.Numerical results show that our method can effectively remove impulse noise.

Response surface methodology (RSM) was used to optimize the degree of esterification of p-coumaric acid to triolein via lipase-catalyzed acidolysis, and enzyme load, reaction time and mole ratio of substrates were selected as variables in the experimental design. The results showed that the model employed was highly sufficient for determining the effectiveness and interaction of three selected variables, enzyme load, reaction time and the mole ratio of substrates, on the dependent variable, the degree of esterification. Although the optimization point was not found in the selected range of the three variables, the steepest ascent analysis suggested that an increase of these three variables might lead to a stationary point. However, based on the limitations on increasing the range of tested variables, including possible oxidation of synthesized lipids and increased cost, the degree of esterification so yielded in the designed central composite design should be the one closest to the possible ideal optimized degree. The p-coumarates so produced exhibited varying antioxidant performance in the tested muscle food model, which could be explained by their different lipophilicity. Moreover, the potential health benefits of synthesized phenolic lipids have been discussed.

Non-orthogonality in non-Hermitian quantum systems gives rise to tremendous exotic quantum phenomena,which can be fundamentally traced back to non-unitarity.In this paper,we introduce an interesting quantity(denoted asη)as a new variant of the Petermann factor to directly and efficiently measure non-unitarity and the associated non-Hermitian physics.By tuning the model parameters of underlying non-Hermitian systems,we find that the discontinuity of bothηand its first-order derivative(denoted as■η)pronouncedly captures rich physics that is fundamentally caused by non-unitarity.More concretely,in the 1D non-Hermitian topological systems,two mutually orthogonal edge states that are respectively localized on two boundaries become non-orthogonal in the vicinity of discontinuity ofηas a function of the model parameter,which is dubbed"edge state transition".Through theoretical analysis,we identify that the appearance of edge state transition indicates the existence of exceptional points(EPs)in topological edge states.Regarding the discontinuity of■η,we investigate a two-level non-Hermitian model and establish a connection between the points of discontinuity of■ηand EPs of bulk states.By studying this connection in more general lattice models,we find that some models have discontinuity of■η,implying the existence of EPs in bulk states.

Functionalized carbon dots(CDs)obtained from citric acid derivative were selected as intercalatorto modify graphene and then dispersed into epoxy matrix to prepare CDs modified graphene/epoxy(CDs-G/EP)coatings.Meanwhile,their microstructure,self-healing and corro sion resistance behaviors were analyzed deeply.Structural characterizations indicated the formation of"π-π"interaction between functionalized carbon dots and graphene.By observation,the dispersion and interface compatibility of graphene were greatly enhanced by CDs.The change rules of electrochemistry results implied that the addition of 0.5 wt.%CDs-G in EP coating(CDs-G0.5%/EP)demonstrated a superior protective property on steel,which was attributed to the physical barrier of highly dispersed graphene and the self-healing ability of CDs.After 50 days immersion,the oxygen permeability coefficient and water absorption of CDs-G0.5%/EP coating were only 4.27×10^(-13)cm^(3)cm cm^(-2)s^(-1)Pa^(-1) and 4.4%,respectively.
