WheatCENet:A Database for Comparative Co-expression Network Analysis of Allohexaploid Wheat and Its Progenitors

Genetic and epigenetic changes after polyploidization events could result in variable gene expression and modified regulatory networks.Here,using large-scale transcriptome data,we constructed co-expression networks for diploid,tetraploid,and hexaploid wheat species,and built a platform for comparing co-expression networks of allohexaploid wheat and its progenitors,named *** is a platform for searching and comparing specific functional coexpression networks,as well as identifying the related functions of the genes clustered therein.Functional annotations like pathways,gene families,protein-protein interactions,microRNAs(miRNAs),and several lines of epigenome data are integrated into this platform,and Gene Ontology(GO)annotation,gene set enrichment analysis(GSEA),motif identification,and other useful tools are also included.Using WheatCENet,we found that the network of WHEAT ABERRANT PANICLE ORGANIZATION I(WAPOI)has more co-expressed genes related to spike development in hexaploid wheat than its progenitors.We also found a novel motif of CCWWWWWWGG(CArG)specifically in the promoter region of WAPO-Al,suggesting that neofunctionalization of the WAPO-AI gene affects spikelet development in hexaploid *** is useful for investigating co-expression networks and conducting other analyses,and thus facilitates comparative and functional genomic studies in wheat.

The purpose of this study was to screen the xanthine oxidase(XO)inhibitory peptides from egg white proteins through virtual hydrolysis,in vitro activity validation,and molecular docking.The results demonstrated that tripeptide EEK from ovalbumin exhibited potent XO inhibitory activity with an IC50 value of 141μmol/L.The molecular docking results showed that tripeptide EEK bound with the active center of XO via 3 carbon hydrogen bond interactions,2 salt bridges,5 conventional hydrogen bond interactions,and 4 attractive charge interactions.The residues Glu802,Phe1009,and Arg880 may play key roles in the XO catalytic reaction.Especially,the key intermolecular forces of inhibiting XO activity may be special type of hydrogen bonds including carbon hydrogen bond interactions and attraction charge interactions.The novel tripeptide EEK is potential candidates for controlling hyperuricemia.

芦芽山不同植被类型下土壤有机碳矿化特征及其对铁添加的响应

为探明铁添加对不同植被类型土壤有机碳(SOC)周转的影响,以芦芽山3种植被类型(草甸、灌丛、森林)下表层(0-10 cm)和亚表层(10-20 cm)土壤为研究对象,通过室内培养实验,研究Fe(Ⅱ)对SOC矿化特征的影响,并采用一级动力学方程拟合SOC矿化过程.结果表明:(1)草甸、灌丛和森林SOC矿化的变化趋势一致,均表现为前期矿化较快,其矿化速率在开始培养时(1 d)最高,并在培养前期(1-20 d)分别显著下降了44.4%、57.0%、54.6%,后期显著减慢并趋于平稳;(2)不同植被类型下土壤理化性质存在差异,且SOC、全氮(TN)、碱解氮(AN)、有效磷(AP)和土壤含水量(SWC)均随土层深度的增加而减少;(3)各植被类型不同土层SOC累积矿化量、矿化速率和矿化效率均表现为0-10 cm>10-20 cm,且草甸和森林土壤的矿化作用高于灌丛;(4)外源加Fe(Ⅱ)抑制了土壤SOC的矿化速率,对草甸和森林的抑制作用较高(19.4%-32.6%),灌丛次之(20.2%-28.3%);此外,相对于表层土壤(16.0%-19.4%),Fe(Ⅱ)添加对亚表层土壤(24.9%-32.6%)SOC的保护作用更强;(5)一级动力学方程对SOC矿化过程的模拟结果较好,灌丛土壤的Cp/SOC值为4.86-7.87,显著低于草甸和森林(5.50-12.9),表明灌丛土壤的固碳能力最强,草甸和森林次之;加Fe(Ⅱ)后土壤Cp/SOC值显著降低,表明Fe(Ⅱ)添加有利于SOC的固存;(6)逐步回归分析表明,SOC、pH和TP是土壤有机碳矿化的主要控制因素.由此得出,植被类型是影响土壤SOC矿化的重要因素,外源加Fe(Ⅱ)可以在一定程度上促进土壤SOC的固存,这与养分可利用性和土壤性质密切相关;结果可为理解气候变化背景下铁氧化物如何驱动芦芽山不同植被下土壤SOC周转提供基础数据.(图2表6参37)

Corona Virus Disease 2019(COVID-19)caused by the novel coronavirus,results in an acute respiratory condition coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)and is highly infectious.The recent spread of this virus has caused a global pandemic.Currently,the transmission routes of SARS-CoV-2 are being established,especially the role of environmental transmission.Here we review the environmental transmission routes and persistence of SARS-CoV-2.Recent studies have established that the transmission of this virus may occur,amongst others,in the air,water,soil,cold-chain,biota,and surface contact.It has also been found that the survival potential of the SARS-CoV-2 virus is dependent on different environmental conditions and pollution.Potentially important pathways include aerosol and fecal matter.Particulate matter may also be a carrier for SARS-CoV-2.Since microscopic particles can be easily absorbed by humans,more attention must be focused on the dissemination of these particles.These considerations are required to evolve a theoretical platform for epidemic control and to minimize the global threat from future epidemics.

Dysfunction of synaptic endocytic trafficking in Parkinson's disease

Parkinson's disease is characterized by the selective degeneration of dopamine neurons in the nigrostriatal pathway and dopamine deficiency in the striatum.The precise reasons behind the specific degeneration of these dopamine neurons remain largely elusive.Genetic investigations have identified over 20 causative PARK genes and 90 genomic risk loci associated with both familial and sporadic Parkinson's disease.Notably,several of these genes are linked to the synaptic vesicle recycling process,particularly the clathrinmediated endocytosis pathway.This suggests that impaired synaptic vesicle recycling might represent an early feature of Parkinson's disease,followed by axonal degeneration and the eventual loss of dopamine cell bodies in the midbrain via a"dying back"mechanism.Recently,several new animal and cellular models with Parkinson's disease-linked mutations affecting the endocytic pathway have been created and extensively characterized.These models faithfully recapitulate certain Parkinson's disease-like features at the animal,circuit,and cellular levels,and exhibit defects in synaptic membrane trafficking,further supporting the findings from human genetics and clinical studies.In this review,we will first summarize the cellular and molecular findings from the models of two Parkinson's disease-linked clathrin uncoating proteins:auxilin(DNAJC6/PARK19)and synaptojanin 1(SYNJ1/PARK20).The mouse models carrying these two PARK gene mutations phenocopy each other with specific dopamine terminal pathology and display a potent synergistic effect.Subsequently,we will delve into the involvement of several clathrin-mediated endocytosis-related proteins(GAK,endophilin A1,SAC2/INPP5 F,synaptotagmin-11),identified as Parkinson's disease risk factors through genome-wide association studies,in Parkinson's disease pathogenesis.We will also explore the direct or indirect roles of some common Parkinson's disease-linked proteins(alpha-synuclein(PARK1/4),Parkin(PARK2),and LRRK2(PARK8))in synaptic endocytic trafficking.Additionall

Dynamic Setting Method of Assessment Indicators for Power Curves of Renewable Energy Sources Considering Scarcity of Reserve Resources

With the increasing proportion of renewable energy sources(RESs)in power grid,the reserve resource(RR)scarcity for correcting power deviation of RESs has become a potential issue.Consequently,the power curve of RES needs to be more rigorously assessed.The RR scarcity varies during different time periods,so the values of assessment indicators should be dynamically adjusted.The assessment indicators in this paper include two aspects,i.e.,deviation exemption ratio and penalty price.Firstly,this paper proposes a method for dynamically calculating the supply capacity and RR cost,primarily taking into account the operating status of thermal units,forecast information of RES,and load curve.Secondly,after clarifying the logical relationship between the degree of RR scarcity and the values of assessment indicators,this paper establishes a mapping function between them.Based on this mapping function,a dynamic setting method for assessment indicators is proposed.In the future,RES will generally be equipped with battery energy storage systems(BESSs).Reasonably utilizing BESSs to reduce the power deviation of RESs can increase the expected income of RESs.Therefore,this paper proposes a power curve optimization strategy for RESs considering self-owned BESSs.The case study demonstrates that the dynamic setting method of assessment indicators can increase the revenue of RESs while ensuring that the penalty fees paid by RESs to the grid are sufficient to cover the RR costs.Additionally,the power curve optimization strategy can help RESs further increase income and fully utilize BESSs to reduce power deviation.

Zeros of Complete Symmetric Polynomials over Finite Fields

Wan and Zhang(2021) obtained a nontrivial lower bound for the number of zeros of complete symmetric polynomials over finite fields, and proposed a problem whether their bound can be improved. In this paper, the author improves Wan-Zhang's bound from three aspects. The proposed results are based on the estimates related to the number of certain permutations and the value sets of non-permutation polynomials associated to the complete symmetric polynomial. And the author believes that there are still possibilities to improve the bounds and hence Wan-Zhang's bound.

Bioinspired Closed-loop CPG-based Control of a Robotic Manta for Autonomous Swimming

Fish in nature exhibit a variety of swimming modes such as forward swimming,backward swimming,turning,pitching,etc.,enabling them to swim in complex scenes such as coral reefs.It is still difficult for a robotic fish to swim autonomously in a confined area as a real fish.Here,we develop an untethered robotic manta as an experimental platform,which consists of two flexible pectoral fins and a tail fin,with three infrared sensors installed on the front,left,and right sides of the head to sense the surrounding obstacles.To generate multiple swimming modes of the robotic manta and online switching of different modes,we design a closed-loop Central Pattern Generator(CPG)controller based on distance information and use a combination of phase difference and amplitude of the CPG model to achieve stable and rapid adjustment of yaw angle.To verify the autonomous swimming ability of the robotic manta in complex scenes,we design an experimental scenario with a concave obstacle.The experimental results show that the robotic manta can achieve forward swimming,backward swimming,in situ turning within the concave obstacle,and finally exit from the area safely while relying on the perception of external obstacles,which can provide insight into the autonomous exploration of complex scenes by the biomimetic robotic fish.Finally,the swimming ability of the robotic manta is verified by field tests.

Impacts of pancreatic exocrine insufficiency on gut microbiota

Pancreatic exocrine insufficiency(PEI)can be induced by various kinds of diseases,including chronic pancreatitis,acute pancreatitis,and post-pancreatectomy.The main pathogenetic mechanism of PEI involves the decline of trypsin synthesis,disorder of pancreatic fluid flow,and imbalance of secretion feedback.Animal studies have shown that PEI could induce gut bacterial overgrowth and dysbiosis,with the abundance of Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium increasing the most,which could be partially reversed by pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy.Clinical studies have also confirmed the association between PEI and the dysbiosis of gut microbiota.Pancreatic exocrine secretions and changes in duodenal p H as well as bile salt malabsorption brought about by PEI may affect and shape the abundance and composition of gut microbiota.In turn,the gut microbiota may impact the pancreatic exocrine acinus through potential bidirectional crosstalk.Going forward,more and higher-quality studies are needed that focus on the mechanism underlying the impact of PEI on the gut microbiota.
