Petroleum contamination is considered as a major risk to the health of humans and environment.Biochars as low-cost and eco-friendly carbon materials,have been widely used for the removal of petroleum hydrocarbon in the environment.The purpose of this paper is to review the performance,mechanisms,and potential environmental toxicity of biochar,modified biochar and its integration use with other materials in petroleum contaminated soil and water.Specifically,the use of biochar in oil-contaminated water and soil as well as the factors that could influence the removal ability of biochar were systematically evaluated.In addition,the modification and integrated use of biochar for improving the removal efficiency were summarized from the aspects of sorption,biodegradation,chemical degradation,and reusability.Moreover,the functional impacts and associated ecotoxicity of pristine and modified biochars in various environments were demonstrated.Finally,some shortcoming of current approaches,and future research needs were provided for the future direction and challenges of modified biochar research.Overall,this paper gain insight into biochar application in petroleum remediation from the perspectives of performance enhancement and environmental sustainability.

Background Carcass traits are crucial for broiler ducks,but carcass traits can only be measured postmortem.Genomic selection(GS)is an effective approach in animal breeding to improve selection and reduce costs.However,the performance of genomic prediction in duck carcass traits remains largely unknown.Results In this study,we estimated the genetic parameters,performed GS using different models and marker densi-ties,and compared the estimation performance between GS and conventional BLUP on 35 carcass traits in an F2 population of ducks.Most of the cut weight traits and intestine length traits were estimated to be high and moder-ate heritabilities,respectively,while the heritabilities of percentage slaughter traits were dynamic.The reliability of genome prediction using GBLUP increased by an average of 0.06 compared to the conventional BLUP method.The Permutation studies revealed that 50K markers had achieved ideal prediction reliability,while 3K markers still achieved 90.7%predictive capability would further reduce the cost for duck carcass traits.The genomic relationship matrix nor-malized by our true variance method instead of the widely used 2pi(1-pi)could achieve an increase in prediction reliability in most traits.We detected most of the bayesian models had a better performance,especially for BayesN.Compared to GBLUP,BayesN can further improve the predictive reliability with an average of 0.06 for duck carcass traits.Conclusion This study demonstrates genomic selection for duck carcass traits is promising.The genomic prediction can be further improved by modifying the genomic relationship matrix using our proposed true variance method and several Bayesian models.Permutation study provides a theoretical basis for the fact that low-density arrays can be used to reduce genotype costs in duck genome selection.

This study was to determine the effects of riboflavin deficiency(RD)on intestinal development,jejunum mucosa proteome,cecal short-chain fatty acids(SCFA)profiling,and cecal microbial diversity and community of starter Pekin ducks.Male white Pekin ducks(1 d old,n=240)were allocated into 2 groups,with 12 replicates and 10 birds per replicate in each group.For 21 d,all ducks had ad libitum access to either an RD or a riboflavin adequate(control,CON)diet,formulated by supplementing a basal diet with 0 or 10 mg riboflavin per kg of diet,respectively.Compared to the CON group,growth retardation,high mortality,and poor riboflavin status were observed in the RD group.Furthermore,RD reduced the villus height and the ratio of villus height to crypt depth of jejunum and ileum(P<0.05),indicating morphological alterations of the small intestine.In addition,dietary RD enhanced relative cecum weight and decreased cecal SCFA concentrations(P<0.05),including propionate,isobutyrate,butyrate,and isovalerate.The jejunum mucosa proteomics showed that 208 proteins were upregulated and 229 proteins were downregulated in the RD group compared to those in the CON group.Among these,RD mainly suppressed intestinal absorption and energy generation processes such as glycolysis and gluconeogenesis,fatty acid beta oxidation,tricarboxylic acid cycle,and oxidative phosphorylation,leading to impaired ATP generation.In addition,RD decreased the community richness and diversity of the bacterial community in the cecum of ducks.Specifically,RD reduced the abundance of butyrate-producing bacteria in the cecum(P<0.05),such as Eubacterium coprostanoligenes,Prevotella and Faecalibacterium.Dietary RD resulted in growth depression and intestinal hypofunction of Pekin ducks,which could be associated with impaired intestinal absorption and energy generation processes in intestinal mucosa,as well as gut microbiota dysbiosis.These findings contribute to our understanding of the mechanisms of intestinal hypofunction due to RD.

The electrochemical nitrate reduction reaction(NO_(3)RR)to ammonia under ambient conditions is a promising approach for addressing elevated nitrate levels in water bodies,but the progress of this reaction is impeded by the complex series of chemical reactions involving electron and proton transfer and competing hydrogen evolution reaction.Therefore,it becomes imperative to develop an electro-catalyst that exhibits exceptional efficiency and remarkable selectivity for ammonia synthesis while maintaining long-term stability.Herein the magnetic biochar(Fe-C)has been synthesized by a two-step mechanochemical route after a pyrolysis treatment(450,700,and 1000℃),which not only significantly decreases the particle size,but also exposes more oxygen-rich functional groups on the surface,promoting the adsorption of nitrate and water and accelerating electron transfer to convert it into ammonia.Results showed that the catalyst(Fe-C-700)has an impressive NH_(3)production rate of 3.5 mol·h^(−1)·gcat^(−1),high Faradaic efficiency of 88%,and current density of 0.37 A·cm^(−2)at 0.8 V vs.reversible hydrogen electrode(RHE).In-situ Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)is used to investigate the reaction intermediate and to monitor the reaction.The oxygen functionalities on the catalyst surface activate nitrate ions to form various intermediates(NO_(2),NO,NH_(2)OH,and NH_(2))and reduce the rate determining step energy barrier(*NO_(3)→*NO_(2)).This study presents a novel approach for the use of magnetic biochar as an electro-catalyst in NO_(3)RR and opens the road for solving environmental and energy challenges.

The Genetic Architecture of Flowering Time and Photoperiod Sensitivity in Maize as Revealed by QTL Review and Meta Analysis

The control of flowering is not only important for reproduction, but also plays a key role in the processes of domestication and adaptation. To reveal the genetic architecture for flowering time and photoperiod sensitivity, a comprehensive evaluation of the relevant literature was performed and followed by meta analysis. A total of 25 synthetic con- sensus quantitative trait loci （QTL） and four hot-spot genomic regions were identified for photoperiod sensitivity including 11 genes related to photoperiod response or flower morphogenesis and development. Besides, a comparative analysis of the QTL for flowering time and photoperiod sensitivity highlighted the regions containing shared and unique QTL for the two traits. Candidate genes associated with maize flowering were identified through integrated analysis of the homologous genes for flowering time in plants and the consensus QTL regions for photoperiod sensitivity in maize （Zea mays L.）. Our results suggest that the combination of literature review, meta-analysis and homologous blast is an efficient approach to identify new candidate genes and create a global view of the genetic architecture for maize photoperiodic flowering. Sequences of candidate genes can be used to develop molecular markers for various models of marker-assisted selection, such as marker-assisted recurrent selection and genomic selection that can contribute significantly to crop environmental adaptation.

目的探讨血清泛素羧基末端水解酶1(ubiquitin C-terminal hydrolase-L1,UCH-L1)、脑红蛋白浓度与心肺复苏后昏迷患者神经功能预后的关系及预测价值。方法选取2018年2月至2020年6月四川省成都市第三人民医院收治的45例心肺复苏成功后昏迷患者为昏迷组,选取同期收治的62例心肺复苏成功后24 h内意识恢复患者为对照组进行前瞻性研究。入院24 h内均检测血清UCH-L1、脑红蛋白浓度,采用格拉斯哥昏迷(glasgow coma Scale,GCS)和格拉斯哥-匹兹堡脑功能表现分级(cerebral performance category,CPC)评分评估昏迷程度和神经功能预后。Spearman秩相关分析UCH-L1、脑红蛋白浓度与GCS评分、CPC评分相关性。Logistic回归分析影响心肺复苏后昏迷患者神经功能预后的因素,受试者工作特征曲线(receiver operator characteristics curve,ROC)分析UCH-L1、脑红蛋白预测心肺复苏术成功后昏迷患者神经功能预后的价值。结果昏迷组血清UCH-L1[(0.63±0.21) μg/L]、脑红蛋白浓度[(89.34±21.35) mg/L]高于对照组[(0.27±0.08) μg/L,(32.13±9.21) mg/L],差异有统计学意义(t值分别为12.338、18.846;P均<0.001)。UCH-L1、脑红蛋白在轻型、中型、重型昏迷组依次升高,组间比较,差异有统计学意义(F值分别为86.430、26.958;P均<0.001)。神经功能预后不良组血清UCH-L1[(0.72±0.06) μg/L]、脑红蛋白浓度[(100.35±5.79) mg/L]高于神经功能预后良好组[(0.52±0.08) μg/L、(75.58±6.91) mg/L],差异有统计学意义(t值分别为9.585、13.086;P均<0.001)。UCH-L1、脑红蛋白与GCS评分呈负相关(rs=-0.685、-0.669,P均<0.001),与CPC评分均呈正相关(rs=0.688、0.670;P均<0.001)。多因素Logistic回归分析结果显示低GCS评分(OR=0.552,95%CI:0.392~0.776,P<0.001)、高水平UCH-L1(OR=1.881,95%CI:1.276~2.773,P<0.001)和脑红蛋白(OR=1.677,95%CI:1.206~2.331,P=0.001)与心肺复苏后昏迷患者神经功能预后不良独立相关。联合UCH-L1、脑红蛋白预测心肺复苏后昏迷患者神经功能预后不良的AUC为0.954,大于单独UCH-L1、脑红蛋白的0.821、0.790(Z值分别为2.351、2.649,P均<0.05)。结论心肺复苏成功后昏迷患者血清UCH-L1、脑红蛋白浓度均增高,高浓度的UCH-L1、脑红蛋白与昏迷程度加重和神经功能不良有关,可作为神经功能预后评估的潜在生物学指标。

以机场安检通道为研究对象,通过调查安检通道的具体参数及旅客在安检环节中的行为参数,利用Anylogic仿真软件建立机场安检通道流程模型。借助Anylogic软件,对安检流程中的旅客通行情况进行仿真研究。根据仿真结果中的行人排队队长、行人密度分布等数据分析安检环节中存在的瓶颈点,提出相应的改进意见并修改模型。最终结果表明,改进意见可以较好地缓解安检流程中的瓶颈点问题,使旅客通行效率得到一定程度的提高。

控股股东之外的其他多个大股东可以监督和支持控股股东及管理层,从而影响企业财务压力管控效率。本文以2007-2018年的中国A股上市公司为样本,实证研究多个大股东对财务压力管控效率的影响。研究结果表明:当公司有多个大股东时,其财务压力管控效率更高,该结论在控制了潜在的内生性问题、样本自选择问题及不随时间变化的固定因素的影响后依然成立;多个大股东对财务压力管控效率的提升作用在国有企业中更显著;提高企业治理效率会强化多个大股东对财务压力管控效率的提升作用。本研究丰富了多个大股东和财务压力相关领域文献,对政府监管部门、上市公司和投资者具有借鉴意义。
