This study aims to develop an economic evaluation method for installing photovoltaic power generation in ordinary homes using GIS (Geographic Information Systems). The conclusions can be summarized in the following three points: 1) This method determines the profit and loss and payback period in order to evaluate the installation of photovoltaic power generation, taking into account the price of equipment, solar battery module conversion efficiency, subsidy, electricity purchase price, service life and rate for selling electricity. 2) The proposed evaluation method was applied to Kanagawa Prefecture in Japan, providing plural scenarios. Using a solar battery module conversion efficiency of more than 15%, it is possible to make the payback period shorter than the 20-year service life and anticipate a profit in almost the whole area. 3) The areas suitable for photovoltaic power generation are Kawasaki City and Ninomiya-machi. It is necessary to adopt measures to increase the subsidy and install photovoltaic power generating systems in specific places in areas where subsidies are not provided in enough amounts.

Main text Ultrasensitive detection of pathological protein aggre-gates is crucial for early diagnosis and monitoring of neurodegenerative *** seed amplification assay(SAA),a method involving in vitro amplification of path-ological aggregates using the native protein monomers as reaction substrates,has proven effective in ultrasensitive detection of prion andα-synuclein(αSyn)protein aggre-gates in a clinical setting[1].However,applying this tech-nology to TAR DNA-binding protein 43(TDP-43)and amyloid-β(Aβ)aggregates remains challenging,because SAA requires a high degree of protein stability of the native monomers that need to function as reaction sub-strates for an extended period of SAA,typically several ***-43 and Aβmonomers are very unstable pro-teins that rapidly form liquid droplets,amorphous aggre-gates,or amyloid fibrils,typically within a few hours after preparation of fresh monomer solutions[2,3].

Inverse correlation between reactive oxygen species in unwashed semen and sperm motion parameters as measured by a computer-assisted semen analyzer

This study investigated the correlation between sperm motion parameters obtained by a computer-assisted semen analyzer and levels of reactive oxygen species in unwashed semen. In total, 847 patients, except for azoospermic patients were investigated. At the time of each patient＇s first consultation, semen parameters were measured using SMASTM or CellSoft 3000TM, and production of reactive oxygen species was measured using a computer-driven LKB Wallac Luminometer 1251 Analyzer. The patients were divided into two groups： reactive oxygen species - positive and negative. The semen parameters within each group were measured using one of the two computer-assisted semen analyzer systems and then compared. Correlations between reactive oxygen species levels and sperm motion parameters in semen from the reactive oxygen species - positive group were also investigated. Reactive oxygen species were detected in semen samples of 282 cases （33.3%）. Sperm concentration （P 〈 0.01; P 〈 0.01）, motility （P 〈 0.01; P 〈 0.05）, and progressive motility （P 〈 0.01; P 〈 0.01） were markedly lower in the reactive oxygen species - positive group than in the reactive oxygen species - negative group. Among the sperm motion parameters in the reactive oxygen species - positive group, sperm concentration （P 〈 0.01; P 〈 0.01）, motility （P 〈 0.05; P 〈 0.01）, mALH （P 〈 0.05; P 〈 0.01）, and progressive motility （P 〈 0.05; P 〈 0.01） also showed inverse correlations with the logarithmic transformed reactive oxygen species levels. Therefore, this study demonstrated that excessive reactive oxygen species in semen damage sperm concentration, motility, and other sperm motion parameters.

Geographical studies of outdoor activities have increased in recent years with the rise in popularity of these activities worldwide,including in *** geographic information(VGI)is a key tool for organizing outdoor activities as it offers a means to determine the locational information and names of *** evaluate the quality of VGI,geospatial data generated by land survey agencies and other VGI are often utilized as reference ***,since these reference data may not be available,other methods are necessary to assure the quality of *** this study,we examined five trust indicators based on the inherent characteristics of VGI through an empirical case *** used mountain names extracted from OpenStreetMap in Japan as data because there were almost no other VGI in the *** a result,we isolated three trust indicators,namely versions,users,and tag corrections,to examine the thematic accuracy of VGI because these were the only statistically significant ***,we found that the prediction rate of thematic accuracy was very *** improve thematic accuracy,this study recommends using the most accurate versions,applying correctly given tags,and considering the motivations and characteristics of the VGI contributors.

The reflection of a bright light source on a dynamic surface such as water with waves can be difficult to render well in real time due to reflection aliasing and *** this paper,we propose a solution to this problem by approximating the reflection direction distribution for the water surface as an elliptical Gaussian *** we analytically integrate the reflection contribution throughout the rendering interval *** method can render in real time an animation of the time integrated reflection of a spherical light source on highly dynamic waves with reduced aliasing and flickering.

In many-light rendering, a variety of visual and illumination effects, including anti-aliasing,depth of field, volumetric scattering, and subsurface scattering, are combined to create a number of virtual point lights(VPLs). This is done in order to simplify computation of the resulting illumination. Naive approaches that sum the direct illumination from many VPLs are computationally expensive;scalable methods can be computed more efficiently by clustering VPLs, and then estimating their sum by sampling a small number of VPLs. Although significant speed-up has been achieved using scalable methods, clustering leads to uncontrollable errors, resulting in noise in the rendered images. In this paper, we propose a method to improve the estimation accuracy of manylight rendering involving such visual and illumination effects. We demonstrate that our method can improve the estimation accuracy by a factor of 2.3 over the previous method.

Machine learning techniques have proven invaluable to manage the ever growing volume of materials research data produced as developments continue in high-throughput materials simulation,fabrication,and *** particular,machine learning techniques have been demonstrated for their utility in rapidly and automatically identifying potential composition-phase maps from structural data characterization of composition spread libraries,enabling rapid materials fabrication-structure-property analysis and functional materials discovery.A key issue in development of an automated phase-diagram determination method is the choice of dissimilarity measure,or kernel *** desired measure reduces the impact of confounding structural data issues on analysis *** issues include peak height changes and peak shifting due to lattice constant change as a function of *** this work,we investigate the choice of dissimilarity measure in X-ray diffraction-based structure analysis and the choice of measure’s performance impact on automatic composition-phase map *** dissimilarity measures are investigated for their impact in analyzing X-ray diffraction patterns for a Fe-Co-Ni ternary alloy composition *** cosine,Pearson correlation coefficient,and Jensen-Shannon divergence measures are shown to provide the best performance in the presence of peak height change and peak shifting(due to lattice constant change)when the magnitude of peak shifting is *** prior knowledge of the maximum peak shifting,dynamic time warping in a normalized constrained mode provides the best *** work also serves to demonstrate a strategy for rapid analysis of a large number of X-ray diffraction patterns in general beyond data from combinatorial libraries.
