Nonlocalized clustering and evolution of cluster structure in nuclei

We explain various facets of the THSR(Tohsaki-Horiuchi Schuck-Ropke)wave *** first discuss the THSR,wave function as a wave function of cluster-gas state,since the THSR,wave function was originally introduced to elucidate the 3a-condensate-like character of the Hoyle state(O2^+ state)of *** briefly review the cluster-model studies of the Hoyle state in 1970’s in order to explain how there emerged the idea to assign the a condensate character to the Hoyle *** then explain that the THSR wave function can describe very well also non-gaslike ordinary cluster states with spatial localization of *** fact means that the dynamical motion of clusters is of nonlocalized nature just as in gas-like states of clusters and the localization of clusters is due to the inter-cluster Pauli principle which is against the close approach of two *** nonlocalized cluster dynamics is formulated by the container model of cluster *** container model describes gas-like state and non-gaslike states as the solutions of the Hill Wheeler equation with respect to the size parameter of THSR wave function which is just the size parameter of the *** we notice that fact that the THSR wave function with the smallest value of size parameter is equivalent to the shell-model wave function,we see that the container model describes the evolution of cluster structure from the ground state with shell-model structure up to the gas-like cluster state via ordinary non-gaslike cluster *** the description of various cluster structure,more generation of THSR wave function have been introduced and we review some typical examples with their actual applications.

A Super-Aged Case with Marked Hyponatremia Reaching 98 mEq/L;Clinical Implications of Low Serum Sodium

A 79-year-old man, an in-patient at a long-term hospital suffers from Alzheimer dementia and thyroid hypofunction. Recently, he had also suffered from pneumonia followed by impaired consciousness and referred to our hospital for further examination. At the time of admission, the level of consciousness was JCS III-200 and other vital signs were normal. He had no edema on his limbs but had dry skin. According to chest CT, we detected pneumonia. Based on the laboratory data on admission, we detected low osmolality of 206 mOsm/kg of water and serum Na 98 mEq/L, beside urinary Na 54.1 mEq/L. We confirmed severe hyponatremia of hypersecretion type. Fluid replacement therapy was started mainly with Ringer’s solution which is similar to extracellular fluid. We diagnosed it as SIADH induced by adrenal crisis based on the significant lower serum Na value and low blood sugar. Consequently, the patient was administered Hydrocortisone and Fludrocortisone acetate. On the 14th day, serum Na level improved from 98 mEq/L to 140 mEq/L. After daily monitoring of serum Na and urinary Na, administration of fludrocortisone acetate was terminated. The patient was discharged on 25th day, since serum Na was stabilized with oral administration of hydrocortisone and oral salt supplement. This case report shows that adrenal crisis can be triggered by pneumonia. In cases of impaired consciousness, if hyponatremia and hypoglycemia are observed, we may have to suspect the possibility of adrenal crisis. Therefore, urinary biochemical examination is an important part of the laboratory tests.

Backgrounds ATP is the major energy source for myotube contraction,and is quickly produced to compensate ATP consumption and to maintain sufficient ATP *** is consumed mainly in cytoplasm and produced in mitochondria during myotube *** understand the mechanism of ATP homeostasis during myotube contraction,it is essential to monitor mitochondrial ATP at single-cell level,and examine how ATP is produced and consumed in ***:We established C2C12 cell line stably expressing fluorescent probe of mitochondrial ATP,and induced differentiation into myotubes・We gave electric pulse stimulation to the differentiated myotubes,and measured mitochondrial *** constructed mathematical model of mitochondrial ATP at single-cell level,and analyzed kinetic parameters of ATP production and ***:We performed hierarchical clustering analysis of time course of mitochondrial ATP,which resulted in two *** 1 showed strong transient increase,whereas cluster 2 showed weak transient *** modeling at single-cell level revealed that the ATP production rate of cluster 1 was larger than that of cluster 2,and that both regulatory pathways of ATP production and consumption of cluster 1 were faster than those of cluster *** 1 showed larger mitochondrial mass than cluster 2,suggesting that cluster 1 shows the similar property of slow muscle fibers,and cluster 2 shows the similar property of fast muscle *** Cluster 1 showed the stronger mitochondrial ATP increase by larger ATP production rate,but not smaller *** 1 might reflect the larger oxidative capacity of slow muscle fiber.
