Aerosol observations were carried out at Xianghe Scientific Balloon Base (39.45N, 117E) using a strato-spheric balloon. The particle number concentrations of the tropospheric and stratospheric aerosols were directly explored. The vertical distributions of the number concentration, number-size (that is, particle number versus particle size) distribution, and the fraction of fine particles (0.5 mm>r>0.15 mm/ r>0.15 mm) are reported in this paper. The profiles of particle concentration present multi-peak phenomenon. The pattern of size distribution for atmospheric aerosol indicates a tri-modal (r=~0.2 mm, ~0.88 mm and ~7.0 mm) and a bi-modal (r=~0.13 mm and 2.0 mm). The number-size distribution almost fits the Junge distribution for particles with r0.5 mm) are not uniform. The number-size distribution exhibits also a wide size range in the troposphere of 1993. The results demonstrate that fine particles represent the major portion in the tropo-sphere during the measurement period, reaching as high as 95% in 1994. Certain coarse particle peaks in the tropo-sphere were attributed to clouds and other causes, and in the stratosphere to volcanic eruption. The stratospheric aerosol layer consists of unique fractions of fine or coarse particles depending on their sources. In summary, the process of gas-to-particles conversion was active and the coarse particles were rich over the Xianghe area. The measurements also demonstrate that the spatial and temporal atmospheric aerosol distributions are nonuniform and changeful.

＜正＞Our group are measuring Asian dust particles at source areas（Dunhuang:the east edge of Taklamaka desert）,the coastal zone of China（Qingdao）,and Japanese *** surface measurements,we have tried to get particles at different altitudes by balloon-borne or aircraft-borne samplers and particle counters. Collected particles are investigated using electron microscopes and energy dispersive X-ray spectrometers. Measured items include dust particle size and shape,their mixture state with sea salt,sulfate and nitrate, and vertical *** this presentation,we will report some results of the measurements and identify some questions which need to be addressed for evaluating Asian dust,in addition to briefly introducing the methodology.

Long-range transport of dust particles(KOSA particles) has been suggested as an important event affecting global/regional environment and various monitoring systems are now operated by governmental and/or non-governmental organizations and/or research community. Transport of atmospheric bioaerosol particles becomes large concern since most of bioarosols are considered to be mixture particles of dust and microbiology. Therefore it will be necessary to establish new type monitoring system in which bioaerosols can be detected in near future. Satellite monitoring is effective to see horizontal scale of dust cloud and movement of those cloud. Geostatic meteorological satellite, Himawari 8, seems to be very effective tool for monitoring of dust behaviour

The results of two balloon soundings during the summer and autumn of 1993 from the Xianghe Observation Station are being utilized in a study of the temporal and spatial distribution of the atmospheric *** balloon,gondola, instrumentation and atmospheric conditions during the observation period are *** temporal and spatial characteristics of aerosol concentration,size ratio,mixing ratio,and size distribution for both troposphere and strato- sphere are presented and analyzed.

The Taklamakan Desert in China is one of the major source regions for Asian dust *** balloon-borne measurements in this report were carried out in Dunhuang,in the Taklamakan Desert,during calm weather *** aerosol number concentration,size distribution,mass concentration,and horizontal mass flux due to westerly wind were *** measurements were performed on 17 August 2001,17 October 2001,11 January 2002,and 30 April *** channels(0.3,0.5,0.8,1.2,and 3.6μm in diameter)were used in the Optical Particle Counter for particle *** aerosol number concentration in the winter season(11 January 2002)at 3–5 km was very *** of free-tropospheric aerosols on 30 April 2002 was noticeable.A super-micron range was noticeable in the size distribution of all the *** variations in temperature and aerosol concentration were found at these inversion *** values of estimated mass concentration of aerosols were frequently observed in the atmosphere near the ground(i.e.,1–2 km);and interestingly,relatively high concentrations were frequently detected above 2 km from the *** patterns observed using ERA-Interim data at 500 and 850 hPa showed that westerly winds dominated in the Taklamakan Desert during the observation *** average horizontal mass flux of background Asian dust due to westerly wind was observed to fall within the range of 58.5–1219 tons km?2 d?*** profiles of aerosol number concentrations showed that significant transport of aerosols dominated in the westerly region(i.e.,4–7 km).

本文总结了1984～1994年期间6次平流层气球探测的大气气溶胶和臭氧浓度的垂直分布.垂直分布图中显示了气溶胶和臭氧的浓度在对流层中出现浓度峰,臭氧浓度还在对流层顶附近出现次峰.为了分析这些浓度峰的成因,计算了位温、位涡、后向轨迹,查阅了天气图.主要结果如下:(1)对流层大气气溶胶和臭氧的垂直分布受大气稳定度、空气湿度和对流层顶折叠等因子影响;(2)大气气溶胶浓度峰对应臭氧的浓度谷和一个气溶胶浓度低值对应臭氧的高值;(3)对流层气溶胶的柱浓度在1984年8月23日、1993年8月22日、1993年9月12日和1994年9月15日分别是72.2,20.2,20.7和34.4×105/cm2,而0～30 km大气柱的气溶胶浓度在1984年8月23日、1993年8月22日和9月12日分别是89.1,33.1和34.3×105/cm2;(4)0～30 km大气臭氧的积分浓度在1984年8月23日、1993年9月12日为274 DU,271.6 DU,对流层臭氧浓度在1984年8月23日、1993年9月12日和1994年9月15日分别是84.3,60.9和67.5 DU.
