The effect of Co addition on the formation of Ni-Ti clusters in maraging stainless steel was studied by three dimensional atom probe（3 DAP） and first-principles calculation. The cluster analysis based on the maximum separation approach showed an increase in size but a decrease in density of Ni-Ti clusters with increasing the Co content. The first-principles calculation indicated weaker Co-Ni（Co-Ti） interactions than Co-Ti（Fe-Ti） interactions, which should be the essential reason for the change of distribution characteristics of Ni-Ti clusters in bcc Fe caused by Co addition.

The antibacterial Cu-bearing 304 L stainless steel is a new kind of structural and functional integrated metal material. In this work, evolution behavior of passive film of different heat treated Cu-bearing 304 L stainless steel immersed in 0.5 M H2SO4 solution was investigated by using electrochemical measurements, atomic force microscopy（AFM） observation and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy（XPS） *** results show that the solution and aging treated samples have the similar polarization behaviors. The passive film impedance experiences an initial decrease within 7 days followed by a subsequent increase,while the defect density of passive film presents the opposite trend. Meanwhile, the evolution of surface morphology and the estimated thickness of the passive film confirm that it experiences initial dissolution and follow-up repair. Furthermore, the Cr^3＋ content in passive film undergoes sequential reduction to increase, however the variation tendency of Cu^2＋ content is just opposite, indicating that the content variation of Cr and Cu in passive film reflects the competitive process of film dissolution and repair. In addition, compared with solution treated samples, aged samples have a bigger icorrvalue and the rougher passive film. This indicates that the passive film of solution treated steel is more compact and stable.

In the current work hydroxyapatite Ca10(PO4)6 ·OH2(HA) was sintered with the addition of 3 wt% aluminum isopropoxide(C9H21AlO3) powder and 3 wt % Teflon powder(-C2 F2-). Sample was prepared by following sol-gel technique. Obtained pellets of samples were sintered. For investigation of effects of temperature on microstructures and mechanical properties the samples were sintered at various temperatures. For studying the phase composition, microstructures and elemental analysis the sintered samples were characterized by X-rays diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and energy dispersive X-rays diffraction(EDAX) respectively. After sintering the samples mechanical properties, i e, grains size, apparent density, Vickers hardness, bending strength and compressive strength were found to be 2.14-18.76 μm, 1.523 6-0.752 g/cm3, 3.60-0.600 GPa and bending strength 33.265 8-14.900 MPa, 75-33 MPa, respectively. As a result of sintering fluoridated composite material was obtained.

BACKGROUND: Timely identifi cation of high blood lactate levels in septic patients may allow faster detection of those patients requiring immediate resuscitation. Point-of-care(POC) testing is being increasingly utilized in the emergency department(ED). We examined the accuracy and timesaving effect of a handheld POC lactate device for the measurement of fingertip and whole blood lactate as compared with reference laboratory blood testing in septic ED ***: A convenience sample of adult ED patients receiving serum lactate testing were enrolled prospectively in the ED of a multidisciplinary tertiary care hospital serving the population of one of the major cities of Pakistan. Participants underwent fi ngertip POC lactate measurement with a portable device and simultaneous whole blood sampling for analysis by both the POC lactate device and standard laboratory method. Lactate measurements were compared by intraclass correlation(ICC) and Bland and Altman ***: Forty-three septic patients were included in the study. The fingertip POC & whole blood POC lactate measurements each correlated tightly with the reference method(ICC=0.93 & ICC=0.92, respectively). Similarly at 6 hours, the fingertip POC & whole blood POC lactate measurements demonstrated satisfactory correlation with the reference method(ICC=0.95 & ICC=0.97, respectively).CONCLUSION: Fingertip POC lactate measurement is an accurate method to determine lactate levels in septic ED *** WORDS: Sepsis; Point of care; Lactate; Emergency department;

Here, a new idea was proposed for template-free synthesis of hierarchical m-ZrO2 nanorods and ＂their＂ possible formation mechanism based on a series of chemical reactions by simple hydrothermal method. The traditional preparation methods of hierarchical ZrO2 nanorods involved inexpensive equipment, complicated process, and high production cost. The as-synthesized products composed of many nanorods with 180-200 nm in diameter and 5-7 μm in length. The fi nal product after annealing involved hierarchical monoclinic ZrO2（m-ZrO2） nanorods, namely, the big nanorod was made up of many small nanorods with 40-50 nm in diameter and 500-600 nm in length. The experimental results were useful in understanding the chemical properties of ZrB2 and ZrO2 and the design of the derivatives for m-ZrO2 nanomaterials.

Negative Pion Induced Fission with Heavy Target Nuclei

We investigate fission induced by negative pions in copper and bismuth targets using CR-39 dielectric track detectors. The target-detector assemblies in 4π-geometric configuration were exposed at the AGS facility of Brookhaven National Laboratory, USA. The exposed detectors were chemically etched under appropriate etching conditions and scanned to collect data in the form of fission fragments tracks produced as a result of interaction of pions with the target nuclei. Using the track counts, the experimental fission cross sections for copper and bismuth have been measured at energies of 500, 672, 1068 and 1665 MeV and compared with the calculation using the Cascade-Exciton Model code （CEM95）. The values of fission probability based on experimental fission cross-sections have been compared with the theoretically calculated values of fission probabilities obtained using the CEM95 code. Good agreement is observed between the measured and computed results.

Social media provide digitally interactional technologies to facilitate information sharing and exchanging ***,in case of disasters,a massive corpus is placed on platforms such as *** accounts can benefit humanitarian organizations and agencies,but identifying the eyewitness Tweets related to the disaster from millions of Tweets is *** approaches have been developed to address this kind of *** recent state-of-the-art system was based on a manually created dictionary and this approach was further refined by introducing linguistic ***,these approaches suffer from limitations as they are dataset-dependent and not *** this paper,we proposed a method to identify eyewitnesses from *** experiment,we utilized 13 features discovered by the pioneer of this domain and can classify the tweets to determine the *** each feature,a dictionary of words was created with the Word Dictionary Maker algorithm,which is the crucial contribution of this *** algorithm inputs some terms relevant to a specific feature for its initialization and then creates the words ***,keyword matching for each feature in tweets is *** a feature exists in a tweet,it is termed as 1;otherwise,***,for 13 features,we created a file that reflects features in each *** classify the tweets based on features,Naïve Bayes,Random Forest,and Neural Network were *** approach was implemented on different disasters like earthquakes,floods,hurricanes,and Forest *** results were compared with the state-of-the-art linguistic rule-based system with 0.81 F-measure *** the same time,the proposed approach gained a 0.88 value of *** results were comparable as the proposed approach is not ***,it can be used for the identification of eyewitness accounts.

Influence of Seed Priming on Performance and Water Productivity of Direct Seeded Rice in Alternating Wetting and Drying

Direct seeded rice is promising alternative to traditional transplanting, but requires appropriate crop and water management to maintain yield performance and achieve high water productivity. Present study evaluated the effect of seed priming and irrigation on crop establishment, tillering, agronomic traits, paddy yield, grain quality and water productivity of direct seeded rice in alternate wetting and drying （DSR-AWD） in comparison with direct seeded rice at field capacity （DSR- FC）. Seed priming treatments were osmo-priming with KCI （2.2%）, CaCI2 （2.2%） and moringa leaf extracts （MLE, 3.3%） including hydro-priming as control. Among the treatments, seed osmo-primed with MLE emerged earlier and had higher final emergence, followed by osmo-priming with CaCI2. Tillering emergence rate and number of tillers per plant were the highest for seed priming with CaCI2 in DSR- AWD. Total productive and non-productive tillers, panicle length, biological and grain yields, harvest index were highest for seed priming with MLE or CaCI2 in DSR-AWD. Similarly, grain quality, estimated in terms of normal grains, abortive and chalky grains, was also the highest in DSR-AWD with MLE osmo-priming. Benefit cost ratio and water productivity was also the highest in DSR-AWD for seed priming with MLE. In conclusion, seed priming with MLE or CaCI2 can be successfully employed to improve the direct seeded rice performance when practiced with alternate wetting and drying irrigation.
