The influence of fly ash(FA)applied alone and/or with sewage sludge(SS)on wheat(Triticum vulgare)grain yield,biomass production and soil properties was studied in a field *** results showed that both FA and SS significantly increased grain yield and plant *** applied alone increased significantly soil pH and EC while FA applied together with SS did not significantly affect them compared to mono FA *** pH and EC values increased with time in FA and FA-SS *** increased soil organic matter and total N content and SS applied together with FA increased also available soil *** the plant nutrients tested only tissue N concentration was increased significantly in all treatments compared to ***,Zn,mn,Ni,and Pb at both available and total concentrations are significantly affected.

In line with recent attention on porous metals having low and medium porosities in the range of 20-50%, this paper studies the effect of porosity on the mechanical properties of sintered copper compacts. Experiments were designed to investigate the effect of porosity, applied stress and sliding velocity on the wear rate of copper compacts, leading to the finding that the effects of both porosity and applied stress of the wear test on the wear rate are approximately similar and higher than that of sliding velocity. The investigation concerning the effect of porosity on compressive strength indicated that the stress-strain curve of high-porosity compact exhibited identifiable ultimate strength points, though low-porosity compact showed distinct stages of elastic plastic behavior.

BACKGROUND Calciphylaxis is a form of vascular calcification more commonly associated with renal disease. While the exact mechanism of calciphylaxis is poorly understood,most cases are due to end stage kidney disease. However, it can also be found in patients without kidney disease and in such cases is termed non-uremic calciphylaxis for which have multiple proposed *** SUmmARY We describe a case of a thirty-year-old morbidly obese Caucasian female who had a positive history of alcoholic hepatitis and presented with painful calciphylaxis wounds of the abdomen, hips, and thighs. The hypercoagulability panel showed low levels of Protein C and normal Protein S, low Antithrombin Ⅲ and positive lupus anticoagulant and negative anticardiolipin. Wound biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of non-uremic calciphylaxis in the setting of alcoholic liver disease. The calciphylaxis wounds did not improve when Sodium Thiosulfate was used alone. The patient underwent a series of bedside and surgical debridement. Broad spectrum antibiotics were also used for secondary wound bacterial infections. The patient passed away shortly after due to sepsis and multiorgan *** Non-uremic Calciphylaxis can occur in the setting of alcoholic liver disease. The treatment of choice is still unknown.

Objective:To investigate the effect of Cannabis sativa resin and/or tramadol,two commonly drugs of abuse on acetylcholinesterase and butyrylcholinesterase activities as a possible cholinergic biomarkers of neurotoxicity induced by these ***:rats were treated with cannabis resin(5,10 or 20 mg/kg)(equivalent to the active constituent A'-tetrahydrocannabinol),tramadol(5,10 and 20 mg/kg) or tramadol(10 mg/kg)combined with cannabis resin(5,10 and 20 mg/kg) subcutaneously daily for 6 ***(AChE) and butyrylcholinesterase(BChE) activities were measured in brain and *** also measured the activity of paraoxonase-1(PONl) in serum of rats treated with these ***:(i) AChE activity in brain increased after 10-20 mg/kg cannabis resin(by 16.3%-36.5%).AChE activity in brain did not change after treatment with 5-20 mg/kg *** administration of both cannabis resin(5,10 or 20 mg/kg) and tramadol(10 mg/kg) resulted in decreased brain AChE activity by 14.1%,12.9%and 13.6%,respectively;(ii) BChE activity in serum was markedly and dose-dependenlly inhibited by cannabis resin(by 60.9%-76.9%).BChE activity also decreased by 17.6%-36.5%by 10-20mg/kg tramadol and by 57.2%-63.9%by the cannabis resin/tramadol combined treatment;(iii)Cannabis resin at dose of 20 mg/kg increased serum PONl activity by 25.7%.In contrast,tramadol given at 5,10 and 20 mg/kg resulted in a dose-dependent decrease in serum PON1 activity by 19%,36.7%,and 46.1%,***,treatment with cannabis resin plus tramadol resulted in 40.2%,35.8%,30.7%inhibition of PONl activity compared to the saline ***:these data suggest that cannabis resin exerts different effects on AChE and BChE activities which could contribute to the memory problems and the decline in cognitive function in chronic users.

AIm: DmA mismatch repair (mmR) is an important mechanism for maintaining fidelity of genomic DNA. Abnormalities in one or more mmR genes are implicated in the development of many cancers. We investigated the role of expression of mmR genes (hmLH1, hPmS1, hPmS2, GTBP/hmSH6, hmSH2) in hepatocellular carcinogenesis. mETHODS: We evaluated the expression level of mmR genes in 33 hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cases using the multiplex reverse transcription (RT) PCR assays, as well as in 16 cases of normal adjacent hepatic tissues. β-actin gene was used as an internal control and calibrator for quantification of gene expression. RESULTS: Out of the 33 studied cases, 25 were HCV positive and 30 (90.9%) showed reduced expression in one or more of the studied mmR genes. Reduced expression was found in hmSH2(71.9%), hmLH1 (53.3%), GTBP(51.1%), hPmS2 (33.3%) and hPmS1 (6%). A significant correlation was found between reduced expression of hPmS2(P= 0.0069) and GTBP(P= 0.0034), hPmS2 and non-cirrhosis (P= 0.0197), hmLH1 and high grade. On the other hand, 57.1%, 50%, 20%, 18.8%, and 6% of the normal tissues distant to tumors showed reduced expression of hmSH2, hmLH1, GTBP, hPmS2, and hPmS1 respectively. multivariate analysis revealed a significant correlation between the expression level of hmSH2(P= 0.008), hmLH1 (P= 0.001) and GTBP (P= 0.032) and HCC, between hPmS2, GTBP and HCV-associated HCC (PmmR genes seems to play an important role in HCV-associated HCC. hPmS2 is likely involved at an early stage of hepatocarcinogenesis since it was detected in normal adjacent tissues. Reduced expression of hPmS2 provides a growth advantage and stimulates proliferation which encourages malignant transformation in non-cirrhotic HCV-infected patients via acquisition of more genetic damages.

Developing an Automated Land Cover Classifier Using LiDAR and High Resolution Aerial Imagery

The aim of this project is to create high resolution land cover classification as well as tree canopy density maps at a regional level using high resolution spatial data. modeling and the data manipulation and analysis of LiDAR LAS point cloud dataset as well as multispectral aerial photographs from the National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP) were carried out. Using geoprocessing modeling, a land cover map is created based on filtered returns from LiDAR point cloud data (LAS dataset) to extract features based on their class and return values, and traditional classification methods of high resolution multi-spectral aerial photographs of the remaining ground cover for Clarion County in Pennsylvania. The newly developed model produced 7 classes at 10 ft × 10 ft spatial resolution, namely: water bodies, structures, streets and paved surfaces, bare ground, grassland, trees, and artificial surfaces (e.g. turf). The model was tested against areas with different sizes (townships and municipalities) which revealed a classification accuracy between 94% and 96%. A visual observation of the results shows that some tree-covered areas were misclassified as built up/structures due to the nature of the available LiDAR data, an area of improvement for further studies. Furthermore, a geoprocessing service was created in order to disseminate the results of the land cover classification as well as the tree canopy density calculation to a broader audience. The service was tested and delivered in the form of a web application where users can select an area of interest and the model produces the land cover and/or the tree canopy density results (http://***/LandCoverExtractor). The produced output can be printed as a final map layout with the highlighted area of interest and its corresponding legend. The interface also allows the download of the results of an area of interest for further investigation and/or analysis.

This work aimed to tune the comprehensive properties of Fe-P-C-based amorphous system through investigating the role of microalloying process on the crystallization behavior,glass forming ability(GFA),soft magnetic features,and mechanical *** minor addition of elements into the system,it was found that the simultaneous microalloying of Ni and Co leads to the highest GFA,which was due to the optimization of compositional heterogeneity and creation of near-eutectic ***,the FeCoNiCuPC amorphous alloy exhibited the best anelastic/viscoplastic behavior under the nanoindentation test,which was owing to the intensified structural fluctuations in the ***,the improved plasticity by the extra Cu addition comes at the expense of magnetic properties,so that the saturation magnetization of this alloying system is significantly decreased compared to the FeCoPC amorphous alloy with the highest soft magnetic *** total,the results indicated that a combination of added elemental constitutes,i.e.,Fe69Co5Ni5Cu1P13C7 composition,provides an optimized state for the comprehensive properties in the alloying system.

Solar flare prediction plays an important role in understanding and forecasting space *** main goal of the Helioseismic and magnetic Imager(HmI), one of the instruments on NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory, is to study the origin of solar variability and characterize the Sun's magnetic *** provides continuous full-disk observations of the solar vector magnetic field with high cadence data that lead to reliable predictive capability;yet, solar flare prediction effort utilizing these data is still limited. In this paper, we present a machine-learning-as-a-service(mLaa S) framework, called Deep Sun,for predicting solar flares on the web based on HmI's data products. Specifically, we construct training data by utilizing the physical parameters provided by the Space-weather HmI Active Region Patch(SHARP)and categorize solar flares into four classes, namely B, C, m and X, according to the X-ray flare catalogs available at the National Centers for Environmental Information(NCEI). Thus, the solar flare prediction problem at hand is essentially a multi-class(i.e., four-class) classification problem. The Deep Sun system employs several machine learning algorithms to tackle this multi-class prediction problem and provides an application programming interface(API) for remote programming users. To our knowledge, Deep Sun is the first mLaa S tool capable of predicting solar flares through the internet.

Aim： To assess heine oxygenase-1 （HO-1） activity in the cavemous tissue of sildenafil citrate-treated rats. methods： One hundred and ninety-two Sprague-Dawley male rats, divided into four equal groups, were investigated. Group 1, the control group, received regular animal chow; group 2 received sildenafil citrate by intragastric tube; group 3 received sildenafil and HO inhibitor （zinc protoporphyrin, ZnPP）; and group 4 received sildenafil and nitric oxide synthase （NOS） inhibitor L-nitroarginine methyl ester （L-NAmE）. Twelve rats from each group were killed after 0.5 h, 1 h, 2 h and 3 h of drug administration. Then HO-1 activity, cGmP levels and NOS enzymatic activity in the cavernous tissues were estimated. Results： In cavemous tissue, HO-1 activity, NOS enzymatic activity and cGmP concentration increased significantly in sildenafil-treated rats compared to other groups throughout the experiment. Rats receiving either HO or NOS inhibitors showed a significant decrease in these parameters. HO- 1 cavemous tissue activity and NOS enzymatic activity demonstrated a positive significant correlation with cGmP levels （r = 0.646, r = 0.612 respectively; P 〈 0.001）. Conclusion： The actions of PDE5 inhibitor sildenafil citrate in the cavernous tissue are partly mediated through the interdependent relationship between both HO-1 and NOS activities.

Numerical solutions of the modified equal width wave equation are obtained by using the multigrid method and finite difference method. The motion of a single solitary wave, interaction of two solitary waves and development of the maxwellian initial condition into solitary waves are studied using the proposed method. The numerical solutions are compared with the known analytical solutions. Using error norms and conservative properties of mass, momentum and energy, accuracy and efficiency of the mentioned method will be established through comparison with other methods.
