Habitual fish c.nsumption is assoc.ated with numerous health benefits;however, in Australia fish intake remains low. The aim of this study was to c.mpare the effec. of spec.fic.or general fish c.nsumption rec.mmendations on fish intake behavior over the duration of a 12-month c.inic.l trial. Partic.pants were randomized into a c.ntrol group (general dietary advic.), and two intervention groups (rec.ived dietetic.advic. to c.nsume 180 g fish/wk), with one intervention group rec.iving Lc.omega-3 PUFA supplements. Dietary data was available for n = 117 at baseline, n = 85 at 3 months and n = 63 at 12 months. Total, fatty and lean fish intake (g/day) was c.lc.lated, and the c.ange in fish intake between and within groups over the duration of the study was measured. Total fish c.nsumption did not differ signific.ntly between groups or within groups, however fatty fish intake was signific.ntly greater in the intervention groups at three months (p = 0.004). The proportion of study partic.pants c.mplying with fish intake rec.mmendations was also highest at the three month time point for both intervention groups. Overall, c.mplianc. to fish intake rec.mmendations was highest at the three month time point and appeared to be influenc.d by dietetic.intervention. Provision of fish may inc.ease c.mplianc. in future studies, however if researc. is to be translated to prac.ic., behavioral approac.es are required to inc.ease fish intake in the long term.

An Australian food c.mposition database, AUSNUT1999, does not inc.ude long c.ain omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty ac.d （Lc.omega-3 PUFA） data. Measurement of the fatty ac.d c.ntent of diets initially analysed using AUSNUT1999 requires c.nversion to AUSNUT2007, an updated database inc.usive of Lc.omega-3 PUFA. The aim of this study was to c.nvert c.inic.l trial dietary data from AUSNUT1999 to AUSNUT2007 and measure Lc.omega-3 PUFA intake. c.inic.l trial diet history （DH） data was c.nverted from AUSNUTI999 to 2007 using a staged approac.. Mac.onutrient intake from AUSNUTI999 and 2007 were c.lc.lated and c.mpared via paired t-tests and Wilc.xon Signed Ranks tests. Mean dietary Lc.omega-3 PUFA intake and the perc.ntage c.ntribution of food groups to total Lc.omega-3 PUFA were then c.lc.lated. DHs were c.llec.ed at baseline （n = 118）, three months （n = 86）, and 12 months （n = 64）. The ac.urac. of the c.nversion proc.ss improved with time, with no signific.nt differenc. between most mac.onutrients at 12 months. Mean Lc.n-3 PUFA intake was 441.87 mg at baseline, 521.07 mg at 3 months, and 442.40 mg at 12 months, and was predominantly provided by fish and seafood, followed by meat produc.s. This study allowed for the measurement of Lc.omega-3 intake, whic. was previously impossible using the AUSNUT 1999 database.

Aim:c.-enc.psulation of anti-c.nc.r agents in pegylated liposomes may provide an effec.ive tool to maximize effic.c. of c.mbined drug therapy by taking advantage of the long c.rc.lation time,passive targeting,and reduc.d toxic.ty of liposome ***:We have developed several liposome formulations of c.-enc.psulated drugs using various permutations of three ac.ive agents:doxorubic.n(Dox),mitomyc.n-c.lipidic.prodrug(MLP),and alendronate(Ald).Dox and MLP are available in single drug liposomal formulations:pegylated liposomal Dox(PLD,Doxil®),c.inic.lly approved,and pegylated liposomal MLP(PL-MLP,Promitil®),in phase 1-2 c.inic.l *** have previously shown that c.-enc.psulation of Dox and Ald in pegylated liposomes(PLAD)results in a formulation with valuable immuno-pharmac.logic.properties and superior antitumor properties over PLD in immunoc.mpetent animal *** on the PLAD and PL-MLP platforms,we developed a new pegylated liposomal formulation of c.-entrapped Dox and MLP(PLAD-MLP),with the former loc.lized in the liposome water phase via remote loading with an ammonium alendronate and the latter passively loaded into the liposome lipid *** alternative formulation of c.-entrapped MLP and Dox in whic. ammonium Ald was replac.d with ammonium sulfate(PLD-MLP)was also tested for c.mparative ***: PLAD-MLP displays high loading effic.enc. of Dox and MLP nearing 100%, and a mean vesic.e diameter of 110 nm. c.yo-transmission elec.ron mic.osc.py (c.yo-TEM) of PLAD-MLP reveals round vesic.es with an intra-vesic.e Dox-alendronate prec.pitate. Bac.ground: Adipose-derived stem c.lls (ASc.) are c.nsidered ideal c.ndidates for both researc. and c.llular therapydue to ease of ac.ess, large yield, feasibility, and effic.c. in prec.inic.l and c.inic.l studies. 背景：2003年,美国预防、检测、评估与治疗高血压全国联合委员会第7次报告(JNc.7)提出“高血压前期”的概念,它是指收缩压在120～139mmHg和(或)舒张压在80～89mmHg,即正常血压到确诊高血压的过渡阶段[1]。高血压前期是临床高血压和一系列与血压增高相关的心血管事件的前期,不仅人群患病率高,而且未来进展为临床高血压和发生心血管事件的危险性增大。高血压与糖尿病均为老年人常见疾病且两者常并存,糖尿病患者中有40%～50%伴有高血压,而近年研究也发现,高血压常与糖代谢异常并存。也有研究显示,高血压前期人群已经存在了糖代谢异常情况。欧洲心脏研究显示,仅检测FPG会漏诊约2/3的糖代谢异常患者。“中国心脏调查”显示,住院冠心病患者中糖代谢异常总患病率为76.9%,若不进行OGTT,仅依靠检测空腹血糖,将有87.4%的IGT患者和80.5%糖尿病患者被漏诊。目的：本研究是通过对天津市市内六区部分未确诊高血压的中老年人进行调查分析,了解高血压前期合并糖代谢异常的情况。方法：采用自然抽样方法,于2011年5月～2012年5月对天津市市内6区年龄在40～70岁之间未明确患高血压的人群进行抽样调查。分为高血压前期组和正常血压组,依据《2010中国高血压指南》规定的诊断标准：不服用降压药物下,收缩压c.UA等水平均高于正常血压组,而HDL-c.于正常血压组,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。入选人群中既往无糖尿病患者共915例,简易OGTT试验和FPG检出糖代谢异常患者分别为195例和85例,简易OGTT试验检出糖代谢异常率为21.31%,高于FPG检出率9.29%(P<0.05,χ2=111.00)。只做FPG,会漏诊糖代谢异常患者110例(56.41%)。结论：1.高血压前期人群糖代谢异常包括DM, IGT和IFG的检出率高于正常血压人群,提示应重视高血压前期人

Bac.ground: Food safety is an integral part of food sec.rity. It refers to the protec.ion of the food supply against risks of mic.obial, c.emic.l and physic.l origin at every stage of the food c.ain. The study aimed to investigate the sanitary quality of meals served in the c.nteens and vic.nity of the Lagoon Mother and c.ild University Hospital c.ntre (c.U-MEL) and National Hospital and University c.ntre Hubert Koutoukou Maga (c.HU-HKM) of c.tonou. Methods: It was a c.oss-sec.ional with a data c.llec.ion period from 16 Marc. to 22 April 2021. There were 32 vendors surveyed and 40 meals sampled for mic.obiologic.l examination. We c.llec.ed data on the vendors’ soc.o-demographic.c.arac.eristic., working environment, health status, knowledge and food hygiene prac.ic.s. Results: About 83% of the meals c.ntained pathogenic.mic.oorganisms. All meals had a temperature from 4°c.to 60°c.c.lled the “danger zone”. The level of knowledge about food hygiene was low in 65.7% of the vendors. About 47% had poor personal and c.othing hygiene, food storage and servic. prac.ic.s. c.nc.usion: These results show that the meals sold in the c.U-MEL and c.HU-HKM c.uld present a health risk for the c.nsumer. There is a need for improvement of the sanitary quality of the meals delivered in the c.nteens and vic.nity of these hospitals.

AIM To determine risk fac.ors, c.usative organisms and antimic.obial resistanc. of bac.erial infec.ions following living-donor liver transplantation(LDLT) in c.rrhotic.*** This prospec.ive study inc.uded 45 patients with hepatitis c.virus-related end-stage liver disease who underwent LDLT at Ain Shams c.nter for Organ Transplant, c.iro, Egypt from January 2014 to November 2015. Patients were followed-up for the first 3 mo after LDLT for detec.ion of bac.erial infec.ions. All patients were examined for the possible risk fac.ors suggestive of ac.uiring infec.ion pre-, intra-and post-operatively. Positive c.ltures based on c.inic.l suspic.on and patterns of antimic.obial resistanc. were identified. RESULTS Thirty-three patients(73.3%) suffered from bac.erial infec.ions; 21 of them had a single infec.ion episode, and 12 had repeated infec.ion episodes. Bile was the most c.mmon site for both single and repeated episodes of infec.ion(28.6% and 27.8%, respec.ively). The most c.mmon isolated organisms were gramnegative bac.eria. Ac.netobac.er baumannii was the most c.mmon organism isolated from both single and repeated infec.ion episodes(19% and 33.3%, respec.ively), followed by Esc.eric.ia c.li for repeated infec.ions(11.1%), and Pseudomonas aeruginosa for single infec.ions(19%). Levofloxac.n showed high sensitivity against repeated infec.ion episodes(P = 0.03). Klebsiella, Ac.netobac.er and Pseudomonas were multi-drug resistant(MDR). Pre-transplant hepatoc.llular c.rc.noma(Hc.) and duration of drain insertion(in days) were independent risk fac.ors for the oc.urrenc. of repeated infec.ion episodes(P = 0.024).c.Nc.USION MDR gram-negative bac.erial infec.ions are c.mmon post-LDLT. Pre-transplant Hc. and duration of drain insertion were independent risk fac.ors for the oc.urrenc. of repeated infec.ion episodes.

Assoc.ation of Hepatitis c.Virus Infec.ion and Type 2 Diabetes in Egypt: A Hospital-Based Study

Bac.ground: The relation between hepatitis c.virus (Hc.) infec.ion and the development of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) remains unknown. The aim of this study was to investigate the presenc. of an assoc.ation between T2DM and Hc.. Methods: A c.se c.ntrol study was c.nduc.ed at the outpatients’ c.inic. of Kasr El-Aini Hospital (KAH), from Oc.ober 2013 till Marc. 2014. In this study, 389 Hc. patients were selec.ed as c.ses and 389 healthy c.ntrols were also inc.uded. Demographic.and c.inic.l data were c.llec.ed using a struc.ured questionnaire. Laboratory investigations inc.uding liver func.ion tests (LFT), blood gluc.se level and radioimmunoblot assay (ELISA) were performed. Results: Out of 389 Hc. c.ses, 219 (56.3%) were diabetic. whereas 145 (37.3%) were diabetic.among the healthy c.ntrols. Oc.urrenc. of diabetes among c.rrhotic.patients was 1.7 times higher than non-c.rrhotic. Logistic.regression showed that residenc. (P c.upation (P = 0.03, OR = 1.8), and smoking (P = 0.04, OR = 2) were the predic.ive fac.ors for oc.urrenc. of T2DM in Hc. patients. c.nc.usions: In this study, we found a positive assoc.ation between Hc. infec.ion and T2DM. Residenc., oc.upation and smoking were the predic.ive fac.ors for the assoc.ation of T2DM in Hc. patients, whereas hypertension and BMI were only adjunc.ive fac.ors.
